The (likely) final volume provides an ending to the series that fits the themes of the story, but I cannot help but feel a bit disappointed even if this likely just a matter of personal tastes. The characters are great, and we don't get father MCs of Belgrieve's calibre too often, especially not in light novels. It is just that I have never been a fan of the type of villain that Schwartze is, not that I feel a regular defeat would do it justice either, but still... Anyway, as far as endings go, it could have been much worse and I did enjoy the book, and the series as a whole was definitely a great read.
Audio: 5 Stars Amazing job with 300 different voices!
Story: I should have just skipped this last book. The ending was....disappointing. It also felt rushed, The series overall was ok, but it got worst with each book. Maybe it is a me thing, so I guess this one was just not for me. It started strong but ended weak. I also disliked that the MC was mostly a door mat, he started with a quiet life and ended with tons of responsibilities at the end which were push into him and he just accepted them. Basically, the same issue I had with the previous book, why bring unwanted issues into a nice town. Onto my next adventure, Happy Readings!!!
Wasn't looking forward to the finale of this story. I really fell in love with the characters from the beginning.
The ending is a bit anticlimactic, but that is in hand with the story doing away with a lot of troupes to begin with. This is a healthy and lovely family story that has a little adventure and lots of good feeling moments. I wish the story could continue but with the big bad gone the rest would just be relaxing reading I think.
The ending feels a bit rushed but wow! The way how it all ties together in the end is so satisfying! I also love how the father-daughter relationship between Belgrieve and Angeline is so wholesome until the end.
