I just want to take a moment to really appreciate this bible study.

I have always been a Christian but never really tapped into that until recently. I am so grateful that God led me to this study! I have learned so much from it and will always remember its teachings.

From not being able to really understand the Bible to now, where I can easily identify passages and their main ideas…I would say I have grown exponentially in bible studying within only a month!

I recommend this study HIGHLY if anyone wants to explore their faith a bit more. Super specific and very helpful!!

In Sweeter Than Honey, Maggie Combs and Gretchen Saffles offer a Bible study focused on enjoying God through His Word. This book equips readers with practical tools to study Scripture deeply and savor it meaningfully.

The book outlines three key principles of Bible study: gather knowledge, digest the big ideas, and grow in godliness. It uses the example of honeybees—a memorable and helpful metaphor. The content is comprehensive, covering hermeneutics, meditation, prayer, and application.

Real Transformation

What I loved most about this book is that it champions lifelong, in-depth Bible study. It doesn’t promote a “snack mentality” of grabbing a quick treat. Instead, it encourages slow and deep meditation that leads to real transformation.

Combs and Saffles keep the material engaging by making Bible study relatable. They explain that it takes hard work and discipline to truly love God’s Word. In a culture of endless social media scrolling and a culture that criticizes Christians, we must learn to prioritize intentional time in the Word.

More Desirable than Gold

They also acknowledge that some seasons make studying the Bible feel nearly impossible. In those times, they suggest starting with the Psalms and reading verse by verse—slow plodding. Even in challenging seasons, God invites us to rest in His presence.

This book is an inspiring guide for deepening your relationship with God through His Word. As you engage with Scripture, you’ll find Him to be more desirable than gold and sweeter than honey.

I received a media copy of Sweeter Than Honey and this is my honest review. @diveindigdeep
