Asher Strigodeus was tricked into vampiric immortality with the promise of saving his soulmate, Akakios. As he turned, his creator brutally murdered Akakios in front of him. After slaying his creator in retaliation, he took over the coven as their new leader and built it into the strongest and largest coven in the world for over three-thousand years while he waited for his soulmate to be reborn.

Cato Axton is a history professor who has suffered from night terrors his entire life. His dreams always consist of a past version of himself throughout history being brutally slain over the last three thousand years. Having always hoped his dreams are only dreams, he is forced to face the reality they were all past lives when he finds himself staring into Asher’s eyes.

Before Asher can celebrate being reunited with his love, he learns the events of the past weren’t what they seemed, and he hadn’t destroyed the forces that separated them as thoroughly as he thought.

Now they are caught between rejoicing in having found each other again, and a race against the enemies that are lurking in the shadows. Can they unravel the mysteries from the last three and a half thousand years and uncover the real villain before history repeats itself? Or will their enemies manage to rip them apart again?

Please stay tuned for these books. What originally started out as a campy vampire novel turned into a soulmate journey that spans over thirty-four hundred years. There is sizzling steam, a completely besotted vampire, and an extremely strong human who is so much more than what meets the eye.

These two novels are heavy angst/heavy fluff, hurt/comfort, validation/affirmation. Along with harrowing monsters full of violence, blood, torture, and devastating heartbreak.

great start

What a world!!!! I am in love with this world. This book had great world development, and an amazing plot. How long would you wait for your soulmate? And what happens when you finally find them again? I’m not really good with books that have flash backs but this book did it really nicely. I liked how the flash backs were different chapters that added to the overall plot and emotions of the story. Cato and Asher a beautiful together. Their love truly transcends time. I love getting to know the coven members that have stood by Asher this entire time.

That being said I couldn’t give this a five star cause omg the length of the book. And not because of how long it was, I LOVE long books. It’s because this didn’t have to be that long. Two times is enough to tell us what Catos fears are surrounding Asher’s love. We didn’t need to hear it in great length from not just Cato but from Kellen. That was just the biggest issue. It wasn’t that it was written in third person, that doesn’t bother me it was the fact that we were told the exact same information in great detail over and over and over again so much so that I had to scan a few things. Like we get it. And lack of diversity. There’s no excuse for that. Black, brown and other POV exist in fantasy worlds unless your fantasy world is racist. I’m hoping not to be Tim Burtoned in the next book.

I enjoyed Kandyce Marie's Soulmate Cravings: Part One: The Runion, the first book in the Soulmate Cravings Duology. Here are some things I liked about this book: 1. The characters were interesting and experienced hardships growing up that shaped their lives into the people they are today. 2. The chapter headings made it easy to track what happened between who and what time period. 3. When Asher reads Cato's journals, we see what happened as a backstory scene, even if they were sometimes gory and graphic. 4. Cato's friendship with Kellen and Zane and how Cato said it was non-negotiable for them not to be in his life. 5. Trying to figure out who kept killing Aki's reincarnations. I'm pretty sure I know who it is, but I will probably be wrong. That alone will get me to read the next book. 6. Cato's mom and her relationship with the three boys and how Asher is now one of her boys, too.

Things I didn't like about this book: 1. It's written in 3rd person omniscient. I love to connect with the characters and feel the story from their perspective, which is hard to do when you are getting everyone's pov simultaneously. 2. There was a lot of repetition in both information and the use of the same words and phrases, which led to skimming. 3. There were too many hot scenes that didn't progress the story and only added extra length, which led to more skimming. 4. The misuse of the closing quotation marks when someone was talking for multiple paragraphs. It should be the first paragraph's opening quote mark and no ending quote mark, the second paragraph's opening quote mark and no ending quote mark; this would continue until the last paragraph of dialog by that person, and then the closing quote mark would be used. The closing quote mark lets the reader know that the person is done speaking, and if the following paragraph is also a dialog, it's someone else speaking. This led to confusion, thinking someone was done talking only to start the next dialog and realize it was the same person still talking.

Overall, I liked the story and look forward to reading the next book to discover what happens next and if I'm right about who the villain is.

Soulmate stories will always hit different (or is it the same?). Add to that vampire soulmate stories. Love this so much. Will always love reading everything so detailed from you. And excited to see the (changed) dynamics between the vampire and his human.

My first book by Kandyce and so impressed! It had everything I wanted! Such a thrilling journey! I think this has to be one of the best vampire stories I have read! Cato and Asher are true soulmates! So looking forward to part two, I desperately need to know what happens next!

I love soulmate and vampire stories and so it is rolled into one book. When you start reading this you won't want to pause or put it down . It's thrilling and romantic and lots of action too. Love it
