She’s a fighter, but I’m a criminal who will do whatever it takes to steal her heart.
Gemma I rose from the ashes of my childhood like a phoenix, and never looked back. The last thing I need is the cocky bad boy of the Monaghan family barging in and turning my carefully constructed life into chaos. He’s everything I shouldn’t want, nothing I was prepared for, and the only thing I crave. But his world is dangerous, and that’s a complication I left in my rear-view years ago. I’m determined to keep him out of my heart, even if I can’t seem to keep him out of my bed. But when the last person I ever expected to meet comes knocking on my door, Eoghan Monaghan is the only one with the power to free me from the dangerous ghost who threatens to burn down my new life.
Eoghan The last thing I need is this inconvenient obsession with the tough as nails enchantress who also happens to be my new sister-in-law’s best friend. But here we are. She wants to believe we would be a catastrophic mistake, yet every time her piercing gaze turns in my direction, the sultry fire in her eyes tells me she wants this as much as I do. Only something is holding her back. Good thing I’m determined to break down the walls she’s meticulously erected around herself, even if she fights me tooth and nail every step of the way. When a treacherous enemy of my family forces himself into her life, the only chance any of us have for survival is for my beautifully obstinate woman to finally let her guard down and do the one thing she swore she never would… Trust me.
Kate is a lover of all things books. It doesn’t matter what genre, as long as there’s a HEA, she’s in. She started reading romance in high school and would hide novels in textbooks to read during class. Becoming an author was always a dream she had and finally decided to put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) and write what she loves. She grew up in the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan then became a West Coast girl where she lives with her amazing husband and hilarious son. She would love to hear from readers so check out all her socials and sign up for her newsletter so she can keep you up to date on her books and whatever other ramblings come to mind.
Hello Eoghan! The charming playboy turned love-struck hero has returned in Book 3 of the Boston Syndicate series, and it just keeps getting better.
This installment focuses on Gemma and Eoghan. Gemma, Alessia’s best friend, is off-limits and fiercely independent, giving Eoghan a run for his money. I love her strong, self-reliant nature. Eoghan, accustomed to his irresistible charm making women fall at his feet, finds himself working hard to win Gemma’s love and trust.
Kate Randall has crafted a mafia romance brimming with breathtaking and heart-stopping moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The book is perfectly written, with enough spicy scenes to make anyone blush.
Whether you’re already a fan of the series or just starting, this book should be on your TBR list immediately. I’m eagerly anticipating Book 4!

Book three in the Boston Syndicate series is as exciting and entertaining as the first two books. It has a great balance of romance and suspense.
Eoghan is the younger brother of the head of Boston’s Irish Mob and is no stranger to violence and the dark side of life. He has the bad boy or playboy reputation of the Monaghan Family until he meets Gemma, his sister-in-law’s best friend. I don’t think anyone could help but like Eoghan, as he is such a charmer. He is also quite thoughtful and so supportive of those around him.
Gemma didn’t have the privileged childhood Eoghan had. She basically brought herself up with an almost absentee, no-good mother. She is feisty when needed and soft and caring when required, too. I love her determination to succeed at whatever she tries to do. Naturally, she has trust issues, which explains her reluctance to give Eoghan a chance. Fortunately, he is as stubborn as a mule and persists in trying to win her over—an enormous feat.
The relationship tussle has some humorous moments with great banter between the lead characters. Eoghan, though, is never one to back down. He even manages to laugh at himself.
The suspense element is split into two parts: a slight retelling of Luca and Giada’s final battle from book two, Luca. But it’s told from Eoghan’s point of view and an interesting angle, too.
The second part concerns Gemma and her background catching up to her. I won’t give any more away, but I will add that it becomes very dramatic and intense, where you are sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what unfolds—so good!
I enjoyed this story from the beginning to the end and am now looking forward to Cillian’s book.

Eoghan and Gemma's story was absolute perfection. The attraction is intense, the sparks fiery and the chase divine as this thrilling and swoon worthy romance unfolds. I loved Eoghan's morally greyness and Gemma's fierceness. They made a sizzling pairing that stole my heart while keeping me on the edge of my seat.
You can’t help but love when the heroine makes the big, bad mafia hero work hard to earn her affections, but you’ve got to give Eoghan Monaghan his due. No matter how many times Gemma Dalton knocked him back, he was like a boomerang and in his case, persistence did win the fair lady he’d been lusting after ever since his brother had married her best friend. But they couldn’t have foreseen the danger lurking in the background when Gemma’s past comes back with a vengeance.
The overall story was well written, and the plot had just the right balance of romance and suspense with plenty of action on both fronts. I loved Gemma and Eoghan together, their dynamics were fabulous and dialogue wicked especially before they officially became a couple and were in the sneaking around stage. Despite the ongoing drama, there was an air of fun between them. She kept his ego in check, and he gave her a sense of security. With their story overlapping with the previous books in the Boston Syndicate series, the reason Gemma seemed so familiar to the Bratva brings danger to everyone which allows for an appearance from the Black Roses to bring their own chaos to the proceedings and also introduce a new in the form of a doctor I’m hoping we haven’t heard the last from..
Eoghan is the third book in the Boston Syndicate series, an Irish mafia romance. This book follows Eoghan, brother to Finn, the head of the Monaghan family and Gemma, the spunky best friend of Alesia, Finn’s wife. Right off the bat, Eoghan gets the warning to stay away from the blond vixen but a warning like that just made him want her more. The banter and chemistry between the two is absolute fire. Gemma may be one of my favorite female main characters because she does not back down to anyone. She had a tough childhood and because of that has a hard exterior. She is a woman who doesn’t need a man and can defend herself. Love that about this character. As for Eoghan, her independence just makes me more attracted to her. This book has a little bit of stalking, funny banter between main characters, a definite touch her and die theme, lots and lots of steamy scenes. They can barely keep their hands off each other. Overall I loved this couple and adored this book.
Eoghan by Kate Randall is the romantic story of Eoghan and Gemma. He’s part of a life she’s trying to leave behind. But, he has other ideas. She’s strong, determined, and doesn’t fall for his sweet-talking, gorgeous-man ways. He has to work for it!
Aside from their delicious operatic duet, there are dangers present that they may not be able to successfully navigate!!! I freaking LOVED this story!!! Good read!!!
This book is well written, and the plot has the right amount of romance and suspense. I love how Gemma doesn’t just fall at Eoghan’s feet. She makes him work for her affection. Eoghan is a goner for her from their first meeting. These two are like oil and water and I’m here for all of their crazy banter. Their journey is plagued with chaos, twist and turned, excitement, and lots and lots of steam!
4* Eoghan has been warned by his brother Liam to keep away from Gemma his wife Alessia's best friend. Gemma is usually drawn to the bad boy but gives Eoghan a wide berth. Eoghan knows that she's his and is determined to show her. When her past surfaces and truths uncovered, she's in danger. Another great addition to the series all can be read as standalone books.
I love this series, and we have Eoghan and Gemma's story, Eoghan will do anything to get Gemma on a date from stalking and knowing everything about her, Gemma is of men like Eoghan as she got hurt so badly. but Eoghan won't take no for an answer. but she does eventually cave in. the electricity between them is so intense and very hot Schenes. and he will do anything to protect her as someone wants to take her it's an amazing read and very heart tugging this author is amazing can't wait for more from this series
loved the dynamic between eoghan and gemma! i can’t wait for cillians story 🥹 i have loved reading and seeing how the characters from books 1&2 grow. LOVE LOVE LOVE
Eoghan is the third installment in The Boston Syndicate Series and can be read as a standalone. Kate Randall is a new to me author and, although I started with book #3, nothing was amiss regarding the two previous books, ones I'll jump next because I just need more of the other protagonists and enjoy their ride as much as I enjoyed Eoghan and Blondie's!
I loved a lot of things about this story, the author's writting style, the pace, the development and that twist of fate that is pretty much the great plot twist where everything gets fast, furious and addicting!
It started almost sweet......with pranks, egos, woos and a promise to conquer no matter what. As well, sassy banter, flirty rejection and flourishes of hope because non comittal doesn't mean exactly no, Eoghan kept pushing and Gemma kept pulling...... Two very different individuals seemingly worlds apart in what concerned every facet of their existence find themselves intensely attracted to each other, but with a lot of noise in their heads, specially Gemma's and her internal conflict between wants and wills and what meant being with a man like Eoghan. On his side, the doubts had more to do with his respect for Gemma's reluctance, fully understanding her qualms than what he wanted, he wanted her, period. Then, the proverbIal B O M B explodes and everything changes in a 360°! It's not about the conquest anymore, they're both embed in one another already, so 🔥intimately🥵, so deeply, completly, wholy.......it's about protection and care, found family, choices and the utmost battle against the devil himself.
With a great slew of secondary characters expertly placed and intersecting with her other works, the author creates a very gripping, energetic and high-octane narrative, bringing together the spirit of loyalty, respect and support between the men and women that recognize themselves in the other, in the same predicaments and same grit to wreak havov, gore and mayhem on those that dared to touch, usurp and defile the lives of innocents and blatanly tried on one of their own. Some of these character' stories are out already, Finn and Luca's, part of the Boston Syndicate and in the Black Roses MC, Linc, Jude and Ozzy's, all adjuvants in this tale, when an army of brothers was needed to exterminate the 'complication' once and for all. The future promises a lot....and I really hope Nikolai can get his own HEA. He truly deserves it! So ready for more! Gimme Cillian already!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (Not overwhelming, just enough to be delicious while moving the story along)
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
Eoghan is the first book I've read by Kate Randall. And I'm excited to have the opportunity to meet her at the Author's in Bluegrass event in October.
Eoghan started off with a bang, making me excited to dive into this new world. While knowing I would want to go back and read the first two books.
I connected with Gemma immediately. Having the ability to bring Eoghan to his knees with a single conversation and rejection, is an impressive feat.
Well meow to the first spicy scene, though it came out of left field. I guess Gemma couldn't deny her feelings anymore.
This book started off a little slow for me. And I believe it's solely because I didn't have context from the other storylines. However it picked up about 50% in, and I quickly couldn't stop reading.
Gemma and Eoghan were such a passionate couple. A relationship that was slowly building, and then exploded into something wonderful.
If Eoghan is this amazing, I can't wait to read about Kate Randall's other men. Ugh the way he envisioned their future today....major swoon moment 🤧🥰
The push and pull between these characters made me want to pull my hair out. But I loved everything minute of it.
So many twist and turns, and people lurking in the shadows. And just when I thought the story was going in one direction, something unexpected happened. Once I got into this book, I didn't want it to end.
I'm thoroughly looking forward to going back and reading Finn and Lucas' books.
The crate full of sex toys was the funniest thing I read all year, if you know you know 🤣🤣🤣.
While this can be read as standalone I recommend reading the other books in the series, I was lost at times. And the first half of the book worried me, but I trusted the process.
It's Mafia Time Baby!! Eoghan is the next installment of the Boston Syndicate series, and oh what a charmer he is. As always, it is recommended to read the books in series in order to get the most out of the book, but it can be read as a standalone should one choose too. Check your trigger warnings friends; while Eoghan isn't a dark romance, it does have some violence as its mafia based.
This tasty morsel focuses on Gemma and Eoghan’s story. We get introduced to them in previous books, but get their full, drama-filled, spicy story in this book. The couple meet through a mutual friend (Alessia), and Eoghan is Gemma-hooked from the start, but is shocked when she doesn’t fall at his feet. Eoghan is known to charm women right out of their panties, but not our girl Gemma. Gemma makes him work for her, she’s been hurt in the past and isn’t too sure about getting into a relationship with the ladies man, no matter how attractive he is.
Eoghan gives chase to Gemma and during their “courtship” if you will, Gemma learns just how protective and obsessive he can be. Not to mention the best kind of morally gray, I mean come on, he’s in the freaking mafia. The chase between these two makes up the majority of the story, the plot is quick and easy to keep up with while engaging the reader with anticipation. As always with our lovely author, the spice is just “chefs kiss” perfect, the build up to the spicy bits with the characters is made even better by their chase, and by the end, I’m left asking for more and more.
“I love you,” “I love you, too. And I’m glad as hell you aren’t moving across the country. Saves me the trouble of having to track you down and steal you back to my penthouse until you promise to never leave me again.”
I loved this scene 💙💙💙
She’s a fighter, but I’m a criminal who will do whatever it takes to steal her heart.
Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 Spice 🌶 🌶 🌶
Tropes
🖤 Mafia Romance 🖤 Found Family 🖤 He falls first 🖤 Mild stalking 🖤 Headstrong FMC 🖤 Morally grey MMC 🖤 Secret past
Eoghan, brother of Finn, head of Monaghan Family. He is hot and I love him. He was a badboy but he is a charmer.. he shampoos her hair... 🫠🫠🫠
Gemma was Alessia's friend (Finn's wife) . She is feisty and caring when needed. She is so determined to achieve what she crave.
Eoghan was warned not to go close to Gemma but he will listen it... NOoooo
Gemma has some trust issues which was explained in the book and that's the reason even if she wants she can't go near Eoghan. Maybe fear of abandonment or left alone to fight her own battles. But Eoghan was never going to backoff.. that man tries really really hard.
I was quite shocked when he was about to tell her his feelings but she was missing. Was she?? Why she left office an hour ago and where is she?? read book for that..
The book has dramatic tinge and intense aura.. you should go and give it a try. The love and the way Eoghan make his way in her heart that was so so sooo good..
Ugh again Kate did such a good job with this book!! Finally you get to read Gemma and Eoghan story. When you read the other books you only get to see some points of them. This book brings out both of their personalities so well. Definitely the funny silly side of Eoghan but also the romantic side. And then you get to see Gemma's boss women side and the other side, I won't say too much about that one because I do not want to ruin that.
But I'm in love with this series. It is the best type of mafia gangster series you can read. I cannot wait for book four to figure out the next part of the story. But honestly I feel like reading her other series Black Rose MC. Since you do get to meet those characters a lot in the last couple of books. But like I said give the series a read it's one of the best gangster ones I have read.
Eoghan is attracted to Gemma right from the start, when he meets her through his sister-in-law, Alessia. As the story progresses, Gemma’s past is slowly unravelled and oh my, it is not what I expected!
While Gemma is reluctant to start a relationship, Eoghan is so deep in already. I love how persistent he is and how protective he is. But do note that since he is part of the mafia, he is definitely not our typical hero, but rather a morally grey one. 😆
I enjoyed the push and pull before they ended up together. And later on, when Gemma really opens up to Eoghan, I liked how he empathises with her and allows her to make her own decisions.
Ps. I hope Nikolai gets his own Happy Ever After too.
This series just keeps getting better and better. In this one we have Eoghan and Gemma. The dynamic was so good between FMC and MMC. It's always good to see the MMC actually have to work at getting the girl instead of her just dropping at his feet when he does so much as look at her. I think that is something that Kate Randall does really well in all her books. I want to see the tension and snarky comments, it makes it feel more real.
I will say the twists that happened took me by surprise. I had wondered how the story would really fit in with the rest of this series and the one before but I was not expecting this.
I can't wait for Cillian's book next and seeing all these characters grow and live their lives because I have really become attached to them. I never want it to end.
This is the 3rd story in The Boston Syndicate where Gemma and Eoghan get their unexpected journey. We meet Gemma in a previous story and is Alessia’s best friend making her off limits. Eoghan meets Gemma and falls for her and doesn’t give up after she gives denies him time and again. Being a strong woman Gemma knocks Eoghan’s ego down until he’s able to wear her resolve about giving him a chance and boy do they have a steamy and dangerous adventure. Gemma feels security for the 1st time in her life and Eoghan throughly enjoys every moment he gets with Gemma. There will be chaos and twist you will not expect and when danger comes their way we get to see the MC Black Rose’s and how they back Eoghan when needed. This is one protective and possessive man for his woman!
This is the third book in this impressive series, and this is Eoghan and Gemma’s story. Eoghan is a charming playboy, who is the younger brother of the head of the Boston Irish mafia, and Gemma is his new sisters-in-law best friend. Gemma is feisty and independent, who has had a tough childhood, but she has risen above the ashes of her past, and Eoghan is determined to break through the walls around her heart. This is a well written fast paced, action packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, survival, danger, suspense, intrigue, trust issues, determination, drama, humor, witty banter, and unexpected twists, which leads to an entertaining, mafia romance. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.
This is the story of Eoghan and Gemma. Right off the bat she is off limits because she is Alessia's best friend. But that isn't going to stop him from wanting her and her giving him a run for his money so to speak. These two have an attraction that is super intense and the sparks are really flying between these two. Eoghan would be the very definition of a morally gray hero in a book and I was loving every single second of him. I don't want to go into the details of this book, you need to go in blind. I spent a lot of my time on the edge of my seat. This book is so good. You do not want to miss it.
Eoghan is book 3 of The Boston Syndicate series, and it's just as good as Finn and Luca. This time it's Eoghan's turn to fall in love, and he does with Gemma, the best friend of his brother's wife. Of course it does take some convincing to get Gemma on board, but Eoghan is persistent. There are some twists and turns in this spicy mafia romance to keep you interested. The Black Roses MC also makes another appearance. If you read and loved that series, you'll enjoy seeing them again. Eoghan and Gemma's story is wrapped up nicely with a HEA, but there looks like at least one more book is coming about Cillian so it's not over yet. 5 stars for one of the series that made me love mafia romance!
Okay this is a new author for me and she got me hooked on the first book of this series. I got a little frustrated with knowing is attached to the first series with the MC Black Rose. But by the time I got to the third book, and screw it just get those series, the thing is I am not into MC books so I am going to give a try. Lets say the third book was totally awesome, I am getting the idea this author writes with females are the leader of the pack. Great story line, and all the connections to the last seriers, I am courteous if the next connection is going the be Lima crew of mercenary. Anyway read the first book and you will see a pattern. Really great start. Love it.
This was by far my favorite of the series. I flew through this book, Eoghan, bad boy player extraordinaire, sees Gemma at a wedding, and that's all it took to be hooked by her. Gemma knows his type and wants to stay as far away from him as possible, which apparently is hard because he appears to be in the same place at the same time.. all the time. Can she set her past side and let him in? please please read this series. All books are steamy, have strong FMCs, MMCs who are slightly.. not so slightly obsessed with their women and with tons action.
The Boston Syndicate series book 3 is Eoghan Monaghan and Gemma Dalton's story. First off, I absolutely LOVE Gemma! She's complete and utter perfection! Eoghan is the ultimate ladies man and Gemma is exactly who he needs to drop him down a peg or two. These two are like oil and water and they're absolute fantastic! Their journey has it's share of danger, excitement, twists, turns and chaos and LOTS of steamy time. Definitely recommend their journey!
Love, love, love this mafia romance...Mr charming playboy, Eoghan, has to work at getting his girl, Gemma, as she is certainly no fool! But this book was also filled with heart racing terror of what was going to happen next and the waiting for it to happen had me on the edge of my seat, holding my breath for whatever it was going to be...and man was it a doozy. So, if you like your mafia romance with steam, romance, heart racing edge of your seat twists and turns then this is the one for you!!
The chemistry between Gemma and Eoghan is the best so far in the series. The banter was top notch, similar to the other couples. The twist of Gemma's paternity was a surprise and the story played along nicely. I wanted a little more drama because it was too smooth. Even the kidnapping was a little lack luster in terms of drama.
Loved seeing the old characters. I need more of the girls bonding. They're gonna be so much fun I can tell.
Eoghan is drawn to his brother's new wife's best friend. Gemma tries to avoid Eoghan after the prank at her best friend's wedding not to mention he is everything she has sworn off. But these two are like magnets and the pull is strong. Add in the suspense and twists makes a good story with another brother finding his love.
