Tenn Aston knows his wife is cheating, but Quinn Turner has no idea her husband is. When Tenn shows Quinn proof, they decide to get revenge on their two-timing partners. It was meant to be a quick and dirty scheme, embarrassing for their soon-to-be exes and vindication for them. Tenn never expected Quinn would turn out to be everything he ever wanted. As Quinn and Tenn scheme, plan with their lawyer and collect more scandalous evidence, they fall hard for each other. The temptation is there; can they wait until they end things with their wayward spouses?

This wasn't a bad story, it was just kind of long and drawn out. This story was really long for what was in it. It did keep me invested despite it being so drawn out. I did skim the last 1/4 of the story. I was so ready to see the big reveal, and the filler sex wasn't hot enough for me to actually want to read it. I did love the ending though. Very satisfying.
A great marriage in trouble/revenge on cheaters plot with really likeable characters. My problem was that it needed a darn good edit to cut the fluff and filler, it went on and on and I ended up skimming just to get to the pertinent parts.
A man finds out his wife is cheating on him and decides to tell the wife of his wife’s partner in cheating. They become friends and decide to collect as much evidence they can to divorce properly their cheating partners. In the meantime they will pretend they don’t know anything. They spend time together and fall in love. So, there are a few triggers and some things I didn’t like actually. First the triggers - the heroine has been suffering from anorexia since she was 13, and after she was married because her husband likes skinny women and as soon as she put on a bit of weight he constantly remarked it. That was criminal and abusive, especially knowing her past. She almost died three years before because he was so idiot to tell her she was fat. - the hero’s wife has a BDSM kink because she was probably abused by her own father. She pretends to be a child and wants her partner to debase her. - the heroines husband and the hero’s wife have a contract where they agree what they relationship will be. It’s a kind of sub dom thing where she is debased and humiliated and used. Both wouldn’t tell their spouses and they won’t divorce. The heroines husband actually treats her like a hoe, even out of the bedroom, while she falls in love with him and wants him to divorce his wife. - the heroine has been in a polyamory relationship with a guy and a woman that now are her married and are their bff. The book is good because it builds a very dramatic moment where the two cheaters are publicly exposed and the hero’s wife becomes insane, literally. There is no going back to the cheaters. The hero is a kind, nerdy, good and gentle man, and the heroine has built her strength from her past issues. The cheaters are awful, selfish, sneaky, their relationship is built on lies and selfish desires and so it crumbles as soon as they start having different ideas about their spouses. The hero’s wife ends in jail and the hero ends with the heroine’s older sister, a former model, that uses him as her personal toy boy, and he has to accept he won’t have good sex as he thought he would since she’s the dominant one. Ha! The hero and the heroine even have a child that is some kind of miracle child since they’re both late thirties. But I didn’t like a couple of things. It was too long, some dialogues are really long and kind of useless to the MC story. There’s a lot of people here, the heroine twin, his gf, the heroine friends, there too much of everything. We could have done with a hundred pages less. I also didn’t like the polyamorous thing the heroine had with her two friends. There are things I like to read, other things I don’t. I don’t understand why the author had to add such an unusual arrangement, it was useless. Beside this, the reading was safe and ok.
This wasn’t bad, I just lacked the patience to not skim significant chunks of it. IMHO it needed to be cut in half.
The book opens with Tenn realizing his wife (Viki) is cheating with another man (Joel), and immediately decides he needs to tell the other spouse (Quinn). He’s smitten, and the two decide they want revenge. The rest is us pretty much waiting around for the party where the big revenge will occur while they fight their attraction until they can file for divorce. That’s it, which is laid out in the blurb, spread out over 400+ pages.
Bottom Line- It’s my flaw, I’m an impatient reader, and I got SUPER bored waiting around for something different to happen.
Not bad, but it was entirely too long for what it was. You get exactly what the book blurb says, and also the instalove between Tenn and Quinn which was cute. The angsty moments were good and the final climax of when their spouses are outted in front of their entire family was icing on the cake. The writing was a little immature at times, but still held my attention.
I really enjoyed this author's writing style which was very descriptive and rich. The angst of the betrayal was good too. Her characters were clearly described and I liked the slow burn journey we took as the hero and heroine who were being cheated on by their spouses connected and eventually fell in love. The only ding was at the end because I just wasn't feeling the comeuppance scenario and didn't find it all that satisfying.
It was a good read to pass the time between better books. I love the soft revenge trope, and it was just long enough but paced well enough. A few typos but definitely still very readable, they’re few and far in between. A little corny, the female antagonist is almossttt unreadable for me because she’s just too much.
There was a better book trying to get out. But the impulses in this are quite juvenile. Characters are dumb, plot drives everything. It feels like the author is trying to satisfy a niche audience demand rather than telling a good story. I ended up skim reading.
Temptation was about (late 30s-early 40s) Quinn Turner Hudson, the head librarian of Boston University Visual Arts Library, and (age unknown) Tennessee "Tenn" Aston, an Art Historian at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
Let me preface this review by stating two crucial facts. First, I will NEVER condone or support cheaters/cheating. Having been cheated on in the past, this is NOT something I want to give any credence to. Second, while I normally state that I "don't read books about cheating", I have recently found myself doing just that. So, let me rephrase my stance on this issue/trope. I DON'T read books that have cheating tropes...ONLY IF and UNLESS they are done in the manner that the person(s) being cheated on get his/her/their revenge in an epic plot twist. Thankfully, this story just happens to be one of those twists.
This story was about a husband, Tenn, who suspected his wife of cheating, and a wife, Quinn, who was in the dark about her husband's extramarital affairs. Tenn was suspicious enough to hire a private investigator to investigate his wife's activities. Once the cheating was verified, and confirmed that the affair partner was also married, the PI suggested that Tenn inform her of what was going on. After doing so, Quinn convinced Tenn to get vengeance on both cheaters.
There was a ton of angst, drama, and conflict in this book. However, the emotional rollercoaster was a ride like no other. It was done with an enormous amount of humor laced throughout the book, and written in such a way that the main focus was on the revenge...not the cheating.
Both main characters were fully developed and mature, with still room to grow once they had to work through their separate issues. They worked together as well as separately on their shared pain of betrayal. Still, there was a part of the boo I wish the author had written differently.
There were plenty of grammatical errors flowing from beginning to end of this book that it made it uncomfortable at times to read. The story also was full of information dumping that bogged it down and made the book longer than necessary, especially since the entire 49 chapters (51 if you included the two epilogues) happened in a two-week time span. If the story had been spread out over months or even a year, I could understand the length of the book. But this ended up stagnating the story in various places.
Because the humor and revenge were so good in the book, I gave it a three-star rating. It would be interesting if the author chose to write more about four of the secondary characters (NOT the cheaters!!) because they were pretty awesome in supporting both of the main characters.
I kind of like this author. She pretty much writes her cheating revenge stories in a kind of way that would get you engaged, invested and leave you satisfied. I like her heroines. In this book I liked both her characters here. It would be nicer though if I could have connected more, not just interested and amused by how the story was unfolding.
In fairness, the book added a little more depth into the narrative, and meanings to some of the complexities of said relationships tackled in the book. It tried to delve a little bit deeper into certain aspects of some characters' behaviours. I wouldn't deny that I've learned a thing or two from this book, about certain human inabilities, behaviours and psychological complexes.
The thing is, I think we could have done away with some details that eventually made the book so much longer than necessary. I've first read author's other book, Belle Amour. 'Twas a good book, but also much drawn out. It was only a bit later while reading this, that I've realized she wrote that one too. Well if this is her style, then I respect that.
Overall, another good cheating revenge story, despite some issues. It's always fun to read these tropes and themes. I have enjoyed this more than her other book. This was entertaining. Author has great potential and has an easy flowing writing style, that's easy to engage with.
Quinn and Tenn are great characters. The author did a perfect job diving deep into their history, conflicts, and the chemistry building between them.
I love a good gut wrenching cheating story and this book definitely delivered. So often in books cheating scenes are not written on page and if it is the drama afterwards is sometimes anticlimactic. Not this book. It is page after page of wild drama, trauma, and emotions.
I especially enjoyed how the MC’s found each piece of evidence. It was like a mystery of infidelity. We got to experience everything on page. You get to know the MC’s and all the secondary characters really well and I felt like the MCs relationship had real chemistry and genuine love.
With that said, This book is hella long. Actually a too long. While I was fully invested in the book, I grew tired of the page fillers and was just ready for them to get to the climax.
There is a lot of scenes replayed over and over again from each POVs. A lot of conversation repetition. While I loved that everything is so well hashed out. It grew boring. Then the climax hit and it was explosive. There was so much build up then it…was over. The end.
H and h do not have cheating between them, however, their spouses are involved with each other.
Cheating = H has a PI who lets him know about his wife(OW) cheating on him with the h's husband(OM). H lets the h know about the cheating and they come up with a revenge plan to make their wayward spouses uncomfortable while the H and h get their ducks in a row to divorce.
OW/OM drama = OW becomes progressively unhinged, but the H is very smart about protecting himself while sitting back and enjoying the show. OM tries to deflect and deny but h is too smart for him. Comeuppance? OW/OM end up living very miserable lives and do not end up together.
Entertaining and well written. I have enjoyed this author's work on Kindle and on Wattpad.
It was emotional and there was a lot of cheating but overall it was fun.
To see two people that have spent too long with the wrong people end up happier then they ever imagined they could be. It left me in a good mood which is all I ask for with my books.
There were a few things I didn’t like. Especially the fact that the author repeated things over and over again. Like a character had a this thought. Then they had a conversation about it. Then the other character thought about it. Then they had a conversation about it with someone else. It was too much and at some points could have been shown instead of told.
Still it was enjoyable and if you can get past somethings I do recommend this book as some fun.

Wow, I absolutely loved this. Talk about revenge with a twist. It was really well written. I was excited to see what would happen next, and it did not disappoint
Tenn hires a PI after suspecting his wife of cheating, gets the evidence that she is indeed cheating with her coworker, meets up with the coworkers wife Quinn to get a gage if she knew. Due to their jobs, Quinn had been trying to contact Tenn to get him as a guest speaker on a project she was working on. You have to read to find out what happens when they meet, and Quinn learns of her husbands betrayal. Had me in fits of laughter and picturing what would happen next.
Lowkey got kinda boring? Like everything was just falling into place so perfectly the whole time? Which is good I guess, but idk it didn’t like make you feel anything strongly
And I think the characters were kind of one dimensional
But if you’re into like the whole revenge thing working out super great and like super duper happy endings and stuff - it definitely had that
Good storyline and likable characters. (Aside from the cheaters). Some cheater sex scenes were kind of yucky but attributed to those character’s personalities. Easy read and hard to put down. Liked the extra chapters at end. Writing style kept it interesting.

What a very long, very boring book. There was pretty much nothing I liked in this book but I did finally finish it just to see if it ever got any better, the answer was a very big "NO"! Pass this book up. Shirley
More than 400 pages to cover 2 weeks. What a long and dragged story for what it was. I found the book redundant because in the beginning, the hero (Tenn) has proof to get a divorce because his wife is cheating on him. He can easily get a lawyer and be done AND he has an ironclad prenup. He tells the heroine (Quinn) about her cheating husband and she, too, can easily get a divorce because their house belongs to her brother. Literally, everything would go well for them but they weirdly want to get revenge and we got 400 pages of them not getting revenge?! The dialogue and insta love between the main characters didn't work for me. Not enough angst for a cheating story, not enough character development. Makes no sense that these two people who are in a bad marriage would wait more when they got the golden proof to begin a new life. The whole thing with Quinn and Tenn's project was a complete second thought and forgotten at the end. They don't even go to work?!
Tenn and Quinn meet under terrible circumstances when he gets the information from his PI that his wife is less than faithful and her affair partner happens to be Quinn’s husband …
Quinn assumed Tenn was there at the library to agree to working with her on her speaker series BUT gets way more than that and the revenge plot is born!
I don’t want to spoil this book too much because I really enjoyed it and I’ve read several of Stephanie’s books through various means and Tenn and Quinn are two of my favorite characters and their chemistry is amazing!!
Needless to say, the revenge is beautifully served and amazing friendships and new relationships and love is born! I loved it
Good grief, this was so darn funny. I’m sure it wasn’t supposed to be, but I laughed through a bunch of it, especially the final bonus scene.
So, the spouses, Viki and Joel, work at a car dealership, and they start an affair. The MMC and FMC actually discover they have friends and relatives in common, once they start talking to each other. They also discover the affair… and the ensuing events just made me laugh. The antics were too much. People falling out of windows naked. Viki using some fake little girl voice during their spicy time. This was just hysterically funny!
Temptation by Stephanie Myrick is a well-written and thoroughly enjoyable read. The story pulled me in from the start, and I found myself genuinely invested in the characters—they were vibrant, relatable, and full of personality.
The romance was playful and engaging, striking the right balance between heartfelt and entertaining. Myrick's writing style is smooth and easy to get lost in, making this a perfect book to curl up with when you're in the mood for a feel-good story.
If you're a fan of contemporary romance with strong characters and a satisfying plot, I highly recommend this book!
💗Loved it!! Book advertised on one of them buy a chapter apps, but I enjoyed the 1st couple of free chapters I could read & googled author and title which was different on the app. I am soooooo pleased I looked for it and found it as part of my Kindle Unlimited package. I loved the characters, the family dynamics, the friendships, the emotional subjects were wrote about throughly & clearly. It was funny, sad, disturbing in places and sexy as #ell in others. Really pleased Quinn n Tenn get their Happily Ever After!
So Good! The MC’s were amazing 🥰. Both were likable and a little spicy. The story flowed well, some of it was jaw dropping and other parts hilarious 🤣. Even the secondary characters were interesting and I hope everyone gets their own book. How sweet the revenge 🙌🏾 they got exactly what they deserved. I can’t say enough nice things about this book I couldn’t put it down, and when it ended I wanted more. The HEA, epilogue, and the bonus scenes were genius. 5 stars ⭐️
I think this book needs a heavy edit. I skipped entire chapters of filler (examples: sleepover and beach trip) and it didn’t affect my ability to follow the main story at all.
I did enjoy the overall story. I’ve read a couple of “get revenge on the cheater” books that left me wanting, but this one was pretty satisfactory. It is not angsty at all though, as the MCs are pretty much over their spouses before the book begins.
