Code Name: Grizz

Rate this book
FOUR ASSASSINS,
FIVE SPECIAL FORCES,
AND A TOWN WITH A KILLER SECRET.

Hiding off the grid in the mountains, Dana has created a new life, unaware that Michael has been searching for her. When a mistake discloses her location, Michael and his team set out to extract Dana and recover the files she doesn't know she's carrying. But they aren't the only ones about to descend on this sleepy little town.

CODE GRIZZ
A year ago, I had one job, and I blew it.
I lost Dana on my watch.
Since then, I've spent every single day looking for her, and not just because I'm a professional.
When it comes to Dana, I'm anything but.
She left her mark on me, and I won't rest until she's safe with me once again.

DANA
If I had known what was coming for me, I never would have stopped running.
I'm almost in the wind a second time, but then Michael shows up, standing in between me and my freedom once more.
It turns out I'm being hunted by four professional hitmen, and the town is acting stranger by the minute.
Now, the body count is rising, and my only hope of getting out of this alive is trusting the very group of men I blame for the death of my best friend.

* Code Grizz is the second book in an interconnected standalone series titled Cypher Black Ops Security (ex military / various law enforcement, now secret ops team members). Each book in the series is a standalone and can be read on its own; however to get the backstory for this second book, it is recommended that Code Phoenix be read first. Some characters may appear in other stories in the series.

Oh my god, what can I say about this book? The first thing is that I had been waiting for it for over a year, and when I started reading it, I was a bit afraid I wouldn't like it as much as the first one. But I was completely wrong—I loved it even more than the first book. I still adore the characters of Dana and Grizz. However, I would have liked more scenes just between them and maybe to learn more about their relationship from a year ago.

Logan remains my favorite, and I can't wait to read his story, especially if it's with who I think it is.

What I loved about Luna Kayne's novel is that she doesn't focus too much on the romance; it's really in the background. She emphasizes emotions and action more. Dana broke my heart with everything she's been through and continues to endure. Yet, she keeps living and fighting for herself and her loved ones. I'm glad she's found a place she can call home. She can finally be happy and surrounded by the right people.

Even though I really like Grizz, I feel like we still don't know everything about him, and I wish there were more scenes to learn more about him.

I also loved the new secondary characters like Tyler, Kayle, and Dale. They really added a special touch, and I hope to see them appear in future books. I also want to read more about the other members of Cypher.

I would have liked a scene between Jessa and Dana where they discuss what happened a year earlier.

Other than that, the book is just sublime, and once you start, you can't stop. Even though the novel isn't heavily focused on romance, it still delivers a beautiful second chance romance and found family theme.

I just hope I don't have to wait another year for the next one 😅 But if that's the case, it's not too bad.

5 ⭐ 2 🌶

I've been waiting for Michael and Dana's story since I finished Code Name: Phoenix and it did not disappoint. This story was full of action, suspense, angst and the perfect amount of spice. I absolutely loved the characters and the storyline too.

Luna does such a great job writing suspenseful romance. I was on the edge of my seat quite a few times as this story progressed. Poor Dana had FOUR assassins after her and with each one I grew more and more tense, worried we'd lose someone we loved.

I loved the ending so much. I'm really hoping this means we get Tyler's story. I'll be honest, I couldn't decide if I wanted Luna to branch into MC romance or if I wanted the Cypher guys dragging him back to work for them, I just knew I wasn't going to let go of him easily 😂 I'm thinking Logan and Piper are up next though. There's a lot going on there and I can't wait to discover what it's all about.

A wonderful surprise

Book 1 made such an impact on me that jumping on this release almost a year later felt like coming home.
Everything came rushing back and I couldn't of been happier.
I thought it was impossible, but this book surpassed book 1. It very quickly made it clear it would be a top read of this year.
I'm purposefully keeping my review vague because of the contents of this must read book.

complex yet satisfying

A twisty read with more secrets than you know what to do with, I think at some points everyone was keeping something from someone.

Great characters and the continuing storyline is well woven into the characters being allowed to develop a relationship.

A really enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing the series unwind more

Suspense, Intrigue, and Cligghanger

Luna has done it again. Grizz and Dana have had each of their own insecurities to overcome but have managed with some harrowing moments that kept us turning the pages to find out what would happen next.
The secondary characters help build up the story line and suggest a new plot on the horizon.
Definetely worth reading!!!

I love this series. It has so many twists and turns, it keeps you in suspense. The characters are wonderful and their stories are complex and interesting. I hope there will be a few more books in this series. I highly suggest you read both books in order, you will thoroughly enjoy them.
