My first and, almost certainly, my last Pratchett. One of a nearly endless series of "Discworld" books, I think I "got" the humour, but I didn't find much of it very funny. Humour being as subjective as it is, your mileage may vary, of course.

This book took me longer than any other in my life, as I felt that the flow of writing was so stagnant that it was rendered non existent. The plot was orbiting a very narrow vision and the characters were so ambiguous that I felt neither fit together in a single novel.

one of my absolute favourite books of all time. If I'm in a rut, need to feel some adrenaline without leaving the house, or just in a bit of an OCD kind of mood, Going Postal is my go-to cure-all. The writing draws the reader in until you're barely reading the book, but instead watching a movie play out in your head. If you haven't read this book, do. If you have, read it again. Few books manage to transcend the state of book and create characters more real than some people i know in this world. Well done, Mr Pratchett. Well done.

Another fantastic book by Mr Pratchett. This is somewhat later than the others I have read so far, and quite different in not dealing with magic much. It's really more of a steampunk sort of feel in some ways with a helping of satire. The usual humourous take on academia, government etc. that you expect. Moist is an excellent character, taking us on his accidental journey from con-man to business leader!

One of my favourites! I've forgotten how many times I've reread this book. My husband even had to buy me a replacement after my first copy fell apart also having travelled around the world with me! Well worth the read, as always with TP, a work of art!

There are always such good lines in a Pratchett book and I do like the way he has a different take on things. This book is about a new communication system that was set up by a small group but then taken over by a group of business men by dubious means who then run it into the ground. Not only is the company beginning to fail but it has devastated the post office. The city's tyrant, a thinking tyrant, puts a known criminal in charge of the post office to return it back to full status.
Good fun as always, "the house of negotiable affection" was one of my laugh out loud moments.

The starting setup seemed a little slow but after a couple of chapter the book gained pace. Well written and keeps you on the toe.

Quite well summarised, for a play version (I would definitely want to watch it in theatre).

Grappig hoe de hele wereld zich afspeelt in een postfabriek. Er wordt regelmatig in het verhaal afgedwaald naar grappige anekdotes , dat maakt het leuk om te lezen.
