Well, that was bloody brilliant.
But it was genuinely brilliant. I don't say that about fanfiction ever. But this was phenomenal.
Now, here is a very long breakdown of everything I liked about it to help me process the fact that it's over:
•INCLUSION OF ACTUAL CLEVER, MYSTERY RELATED PLOTS: FAULTLESS.
•INTEGRATION OF MOMENTS AND IDEAS FROM DIFFERENT EPISODES: APPLAUDABLE.
•EXPLANATION AND CREATION OF ORIGIN STORIES THAT TIED UP LOOSE ENDS WHERE THE SHOW DID NOT: GENIUS.
•INTRODUCTION OF FUCKING MORIARTY THROUGH A SERIES OF CASES THAT HAVE BEEN INTERWOVEN THROUGHOUT THE PLOT THE ENTIRE TIME, CREATING A PLOT TWIST THAT I DID NOT SEE COMING: FUCKING PHENOMENAL.
•General accuracy and credibility throughout, including good knowledge of British vernacular esp considering it was written by an American, so kudos.
•Ability to create a story that did involve some forms of relationships, without taking away from a clever and intricate plot.
•A glorious and somewhat philosophical description of love that did not dismiss platonic love, rather displayed its importance, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
•Very correctly addressing the idea that Sherlock is not in fact a sociopath, and should not be treated as such.
•Brilliance in creating comedy and familiarity through interactions between characters.
•Making me believe it was just your average Sherlock fanfiction, only to be very pleasantly surprised.
For that list, along with possibly many other things that I can't quite think of, I hold a high respect for you, author, whoever you may be.
Have a nice life, I suppose.
