Lisa is a British author based in Staffordshire. She has read hundreds of books. What started as an escape from the real world became something she felt a deep passion for. She began to write her books as a hobby, but never finished one until she finally took the plunge and self-published her first book.
Her favourite genre is Romance, especially with a strong Alpha Male lead character.
Lisa's books contain spice, drama, and British humour, taking her readers on a journey and always finding their way to a happy ending.
Lisa is excited to take you along on this journey with her!
This is a DNF for me. I’m 20 pages in and this book is in some desperate need of a proofread before it was published. The grammar is awful, the punctuation is terrible and the dialogue is just cringy!
I’m not one who shy’s from language in general but if you can’t think of another word than ‘flip’ and that’s the most used word on one page, it’s not worth it. And that’s only 3% in!
I’m not wasting my time, because that’s what reading any more of this would be. One of the few times a tiktok recommendation was not on point for me. On to the next
You cannot. Can. Not. Fuck multiple women after you met the h, actually leave her at a dinner table to go and have your d**k sucked by the waitress and then tell her you fell in love with her the second you met her!!! 😡 He was a disgusting, disrespectful, horrible excuse for a H. Worst book boyfriend ever. Like ever. Do not waste your time and money.
Really enjoyed this book. From start to finish it was intriguing. I couldn't put it down. Love the Fmc and her friends. Tbf I actually loved grump and his friends too. Loved the writing style. I think I just loved everything about this.
After seeing this book on tiktok , it ticked all the boxes for me. And it sure didn't disappoint! The twist and turns through this book kept you wanting to read and find out what was going to happen . I loved loved the MC, they was both amazing, they worked so bloody well together. The side characters was amazing and really helped the book along. 100 % recommend if you love , plus size FMC , a grumpy MMC, billionaire, grumpy / sunshine. Hea Just perfect!!
•Izzy, Claire and Violet were great characters; they felt real and their podcast had me laughing out loud. •The plot had potential. •The boys’ friendship was also sweet.
Cons:
• The plot was not fully formed; there were holes and gaps galore. I would read a sentence and think “where the hell has that come from?” •Some of the plot points felt unnecessary and just pulled from thin air, e.g. the twist with Izzy’s boyfriend Greg?! •The spelling was awful - brase instead of brace, want-to-be instead of wannabe… •The formatting felt off, which impacted the dialogue. I found it really hard to understand who was speaking. •The grammar was terrible, full stops and commas where they shouldn’t be, as well as lots of capitalised words that shouldn’t be.
The book definitely has potential, but it just misses the mark.
Ohhh wow This book had me literally belly laughing I think I bust a rib at one point, I loved every single thing about this book. The way the author had wrote about specific topics like plus size woman and the things that can and has been said to for one me, myself it was so perfectly done and is very relatable
These characters are absolutely hilarious I can’t even put into words This Author definitely carries some magic in her because this was epic.. you are took through the emotions in this story but my gawddd it was done in my opinion so perfectly and in the best way There is certain parts in this book that I will never ever forget and everyone needs a friend group like these
I can’t wait to read the next And every book she brings out
The way this book had me in my FEELINGS! This is the first book I have read by Lisa Harrison and let me tell you.... I will read everything and anything she ever writes! This book has imprinted on my soul!
Izzy is top she is full of life, hilarious (she literally made me laugh countless times!), she is confident and knows her worth, but she is also really vulnerable and has her own insecurities. She is a Plus sized FMC and honestly if you like plus size FMC you will LOVE the Plus size representation in this book! Lisa absolutely smashed this. I physically gasped at 1 scene in particular, it hit so close to home I really felt every feeling Izzy was feeling in that moment! ah I don't think I will EVER get over this book!
Lawrence is a billionaire cocky playboy who is used to girls falling at his feet, and it's so funny when his charm does not work on Izzy, he is stumped! He falls hard for Izzy and I love that we get to see him venerable. Lawrence F's up in this book (I literally wanted to kick his butt and few times!) but he holds his hands up, is honest and accountable, He shows Izzy his true emotions. He is the best book boyfriend!
The Friendship between Lawrence, Bret, Toby and Tate is great they hold each other accountable, support each other and also shit talk the heck out of each other!
Claire is AMAZING she is definitely the type of bestie that you want in your corner. The friendship between Claire, Izzy and Vi is every girls dream, will drop everything in a moment of need, there to get the wine out of the fridge, kick up your heels and have a night in giggling away!
Tropes ✨ Cocky Billionaire CEO ✨ Plus size representation ✨ He falls first ✨ Found Family ✨ Possessive ✨ Banter ✨ Grovelling ✨ Spice
I would HIGHLY recommend this book! if you like any of the tropes listed above then you will LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. Lisa this book spoke to my soul - thank you so much for writing it.
While I feel this book started off fantastic there are two gripes I have with it, one maybe a little trivial the other just frustrates me and left me not even really reading the end of the books just flicking through.
My first gripe, the text messages between Isabella and Lawrence, every single one has xx or some variation, it felt like a highschool relationship instead of an adult one, you can’t convince me adults message like that with EVERY message, even when they weren’t even seeing each other, it felt immensely immature.
My second gripe is my biggest and was what made this book in my opinion below average. Do not write a book with a fmc that is feisty and has a supposed backbone who forgives the MMC for committing something so cruel so easily. I’m sick of authors writing “strong” fmcs to just turn them into doormats who forgive so easily.
I saw this book on tiktok and really wanted to read it. I enjoyed the plot and characters. The groups of friends both male and female, interacted great together. It was witty and brought a smile and laugh on occasion. I wanted to give it 4 stars for the enjoyment of the story, but what let's it down is the lack of editing throughout the book. It has been mentioned in many of the reviews I saw on good reads, but I carried on until like many others who struggled to read the book. If you can overlook this then it was a pleasant read.
I enjoyed the book. The banter was fun and witty. Loved the characters. Spice was hot. The only thing that put me off is the third act breakup. This is one of my least favorite tropes. Nothing says love like being so immature that people can't have a conversation like proper adults. It ranks right up there with miscommunication as a cause. The other issue for me was the abrupt ending that segues into another character's story. This is the only reason I gave the book three instead of four stars.
The story does a good job showing how their attraction slowly grows, even with all the misunderstandings and complications between them. I liked watching them get closer and slowly let their guards down, especially when they started being more honest about their feelings. Their chemistry was definitely one of my favorite parts of the story. It’s an easy read with romance, spice, drama, and a strong curvy heroine. If you enjoy billionaire romances with plenty of relationship ups and downs.
Where do I start this book was everything. I laughed out loud, I cried the spice was so good. The friendship group I absolutely loved it felt like I was apart of the group. This story was well written and left me wanting more.I saw this book on tiktok and it didnt disappoint. I read this book in a day I was unable to put it down! This book is now on my top ten list of my favourites. Well done Lisa a fantastic masterpiece. If I could rate this book ten stars I would
I found this book on tiktok and can i just say i am so glad that i did! It had me hooked. The story line was fantastic i loved the friendhip group. What i loved the most was the strong message about body positivity. I laughed at this book, cried at this book. This is a book i will read again and again.
▪️Plus size female main character ▪️Grumpy main character ▪️Grumpy-Sunshine ▪️Spice ▪️Banter ▪️HEA
This was an amazing read, i went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars for the entire last 25%. The plot was amazing, the characters were great, the romances, the friendships, all amazing. My only issue was the writing felt choppy at times, there were some jumps that I just wish were more descriptive. There were the occasional grammar errors but it was still amazing and I will be reading the entire series ❤️
This is a billionaire romance following Isabella a curvy FMC, who despite her boyfriends constant digs is still very confident and doesn't fall for the charms of grumpy Lawrence who has women falling at his feet constantly.
This was an easy read and it has the classic billionaire romance plot where he falls first, grumpy x sunshine, found family and even a smutty book club group of girlfriends.
Lawrence only does one night stands and his usual type is usually the opposite of Isabella so when they meet through mutual friends he cant get her out of his head and is determined to make her his.
While the story has its strengths, it requires significant editing to improve clarity and flow. Certain sentences and phrases caused confusion due to unclear meaning, awkward sentence structures, and errors. Additionally, there were inconsistencies in punctuation, spelling, and word order. I enjoy the characters and would likely give it a 4 or higher if it underwent some editing.
This was a really enjoyable story and was a great read.
Loved the chemistry between Lawrence and Izabella, especially when Lawrence finds how easily she is breaking down his walls. I did find it frustrating though when Lawrence kept messing it up with Izabella, especially when it came to the part involving his Competitor / Business Nemesis and his 'Associate'. If it was me, I would have walked away....for good!!
My only bug bear, when reading this book, was the number of spelling and grammatical errors that were spotted throughout. This was a little disappointing, seeing how great the storyline was. Also at times it wasn't clear as to when the storyline had moved onto the next scene.
If you can get through this, it is worth a read.
💰 Billionaire Romance 🖤 Grumpy x Sunshine 💕 Strangers to Lovers 💔 Turbulent Childhood
I have never in my life read a book with so many grammatical errors. Every other sentence had serious errors. Is this the final edit??? A 6th grader could have done a better job. Also hate the on page OW scenes after he met the FMC. A BJ in the bathroom from the waitress while your friends and FMC are eating? Classy. Then the FMC shames the waitress and the MMC laughs. This book seemed to focus only on food, alcohol, and sex jokes.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
The plot was good and the banter between all the characters was hilarious, but the plethora of grammar and punctuation errors makes this a one-and- done. I’ve read it once and I won’t be reading it again nor will I read the rest of the series.
Also, warning for Australians - the author called it a koala bear.
Loved the characters, especially the male friend group. Good back and forth between all the characters. Could of been more of a back story between the "bad guys". I found the editing and mistakes very off putting.
The story was good but the typos and misspelling makes it hard to read. Once you get use to it, you can read the story fairly well. Whoever the editor was , they missed a lot here.
I laughed and had my heart in my mouth so much. Was like reading a book about me and my best friends minus me finding my billionaire boyfriend. If you're wanting a book that makes you laugh, swoon and has glow in the dark dicks you're in for a treat
The book was okay, not great. Clearly it skipped the editing and proofreading stage though - lots of grammatical and spelling errors, and tons of plot holes.
