Oh yes, this was yummy and fun.
I picked this up for the shifter vs vampire pairing and was not disappointed. Did I expect Vin to be a goth femme vamp? No, but I think I love him even more now.

I did think Angelo jumped from ‘I hate all bloodsuckers’ to ‘matematemate’ a little too quickly, but other than that their dynamic was amazing and surprising. Vin was unexpectedly powerful and a bit dommy, flirty and sassy. Paired with Angelo’s grumpiness and softie insides, this couple was equal parts adorable and hot as fuck. I love that Angelo’s wolf fell first. We love a cute puppy.

“I’m not a fucking puppy,” he snarled.
“Then stop acting like one.”

His Mate By Vengeance wasn’t only a sexy romance, but had a nice background plot, some interesting politics, and a great setup for plenty of more entertaining stories. Lots of action, a pinch of angst and some lovely found family vibes.
I already can’t wait to read the next installment.

{ Side note (and spoiler): WTF was up with the penis barbs? I’ve never heard of a vampire with spines on his dick like a cat for mating. It was a shock for sure, and I’m kind of glad they were only mentioned. So yeah, warning everybody (and future me for when she forgets about this) about the spiky dick. }

Enjoyable urban fantasy romance. The sassy ruthless vampire assassin Vin and the mafia wolf shifter Angelo, who happens to hate vampires in general, are made to work together when Vin's life is threatened by the head of the vampire coven. I liked the worldbuilding, with the city -New Trinity-- ruled by mobster vampires, wolf shifters and witches. There was a bit of too much exposition at times, but otherwise the worldbuilding was ingrained in the development of the story. The romance has one of my fav tropes: 'I really like you but I loathe liking you'. My boy Angelo was reluctant to give in, but thankfully Vin wasn't deterred and knew that even if he fell first, his puppy would fall harder. I also enjoy the mystery and the evil dudes: first Kyan, the head of the vampire Coven, and then the anti supe group, who is a bit obscure and I am sure we will learn more about them in the next book.

I was super intrigued to read this story after reading the blurb. I was 100% not disappointed!! I loved everything about this story from the very beginning! How can you go wrong with a vampire and wolf shifter romance!! I really enjoyed the vampire lore in this story too. Had some things I had never seen before. And I absolutely loved how fun and happy and animal-like the MC’s wolf was. Made all the shifted scenes so cute and fun!

Vin was an absolutely amazing character. A short, feminine, charming, dominant, bad-ass vampire! Yes please, sign me up!! I felt so bad for him when hearing about his past. I’m so glad he was able to move past it to the amazing vampire he was in this story!

Angelo too had a sad back story. It was so amazing seeing him come to love Angelo and become more a part of his pack! I loved the way Vin showed his love for Angelo. It was totally them!

I had absolutely no trouble with believing their fated mates story. It was done so well! The absolute only thing I would have loved to see was an epilogue. They have a great ending but I wished we got to see more of them happy later on! I hope we get glimpses of them in book 2!

If you are a lover of paranormal romances with great characters, some action and great spice then I absolutely recommend this story! Also, there’s a map!! Like one of my fav things about fantasy stories!!!!

It's really bad, yet I was glued to the pages from about 20% in, fortunately it's a short book.
The plot is banal, the world-building nonexistent and messy at the same time, the characters are stereotypical, the connection between them makes no sense, and overall it all lacks depth.
I would have loved this story if it had been written by someone else, more talented I guess. The idea itself is pretty good — not original, but the setting could have been interesting. Sadly, it just wasn’t developed enough. Such a pity.

Alpha pack leader Marco took care of wolf shifter Angelo in when he lost his whole family to the vampires.

He made him head of the Lunetti Pack security, a bodyguard, one who wants to protect instead of attack, because that wasn’t Angelo’s thing.

Angelo is closed off, protecting himself so no one can come close.

Dang vampire, who got under his skin. Angelo has to protect Vin. Who didn’t really need protection, but still, Angelo was Vin’s bodyguard.

Vin has a one-minded brain, sex, when he opened his mouth sexual innuendos came out, when he looked at Angel he looked at particular parts.

Angelo despised vampires but had trouble resisting Vin.

There’s a lot going on in this story, and the further the story goes the more intriguing and better it gets. Wait for the surprise Marco knew about but Angelo did not.

Without spoiling the progress or the plot of the story, I can tell, not everything is solved, there’s a nice transition to the next story.

The mating was excellent, gosh I always love that particular moment, swoon!

Angelo was one big super tense shifter, I loved his wiser wolf.

Both main characters were consistently pictured.

I would have loved some more vulnerable moments, the emotional parts were just on the surface, personally I need them somewhat deeper. But that’s me. You can’t always get what you want!

Overall I can conclude it was an entertaining story I enjoyed!

Besides that, I had fun. I liked the world-building. The plot was juicy. Ending on a cliffhanger. The city is run by witches, vampires, and shifter mobsters. Someone's plotting, killing, and framing for a mafia war.
I can't wait for Lucas' book! He sounds grumpy like Angel.

Lots of jealousy from Angel about Vin’s hookups but Vin never looked at another man after Angel (he was a flirt though😒)

A first book for the fantasy paranormal series and a debut for the author.

A great start as there is an attack on the neighbouring nightclub being blown up.

Angelo was a werewolf in the Lunetti pack, with his pack being blamed by the vampire coven. Angelo was head security and had witnessed his family's deaths which still haunted him.
Kyan was the leader of the vampire community and wanted answers to the bombings.
Angelo is charged with guarding Corvin, a vampire assassin he didn't want to do due to his family's deaths. Angelo was and alpha in his own right but pledged to his leader, Marcus.

This has narration written in third person for the story between their dialogues. A great show of dominance with vampire vs werewolf, you'd be surprised who wins and there is also a himor and teasing which Vin is quick to take on. One bed in a cabin and Corvin has his fun for a week. Corvin was hiding from Kyan while the bombings identity got answered.

Angelo hated vampires with a passion and when he is assigned to protect one? He was not a happy camper. But he couldn't deny the connection between him and Vin.
Vin was all in since the moment he saw Angelo, that man was locked. He wanted Angelo and he was going to have him.
I loved how Vin is the small one but he's the one that was more dominant. Angelo was all gruff but for Vin he melted.
I loved their bond and how obsessed they became with each other. It took Angelo some time to get there but when he decided that he wanted his mate, all bets were off. He was a man obsessed with his new mate and nothing would came between them

This book is the first in a paranormal romance series with an interesting mob romance twist. It was actually a great surprise and a super recommended read if you like the genre.

The world in which the author places the story really caught my attention. The dynamics between the magical species and the different mafia families were only briefly introduced, but I can already see the endless possibilities in future books.

The only negative thing about this book is that it wasn’t long enough! I wanted to read more about this world and obviously about the couple!!!! And what a couple! A sassy, murderous vampire twink with a grumpy, lonely wolf shifter. And of course, they are destined mates. A match made in heaven, right? However, don’t expect the insta-love that usually comes with this genre. For a relatively short novel, the romance took a little while, but the tension was very enjoyable. They were very hot from the beginning, and their flirtring had me holding my breath. Add in a little forbidden romance and hatred of vampires and you have just enough angst to make the final romantic moment even more enjoyable.

Maybe the power dynamic in their relationship isn’t for everyone, because despite the huge size difference, the vampire is the one calling the shots in this relationship, and while he might be fabulous, he’s still the most dangerous...

Oh wow, I'm hooked. I already feel impatient for the next book.

I loved everything about this book, really. The whole fated mates concept really speaks to me these days, and "His Mate by Vengeance" is no exception.

Angelo and Vin are an unlikely pair, being two different species. Even more unlikely because Angelo absolutely hates vampires. And along comes Vin, the most sassy vampire assassin you'll ever meet.

Angelo has lived a lonely life after losing his family, he's never let himself be a part of the pack who took him in when he was alone, never felt like he belonged, but that's about to change. Vin is a force to be reckoned with, and soon enough Angelo is letting his guards down despite his efforts being his most grumpy self and telling the vampire off, repeatedly.

Angel and Vin were so cute together. I love nothing more than a good grumpy/sunshine, and Angel and Vin were definitely that. I absolutely adored Vin, he was so sassy, so flirtatious, so pushing all of Angel's buttons. But my weakness is always for the grump, I just love seeing how the grumpy guy gets his happiness ♥

At first they're unaware of the fated mating bond, but they're still pretty possessive about each other, unwillingly. I loved it!

But let's just talk about the plot. The wolves and vampires are rivaling crime (mafia) gangs, and there's a war looming around the corner. People are being targeted, unalived, kidnapped and all kinds of intense things. Everything points to the vampires, but it's more complicated than that. Angelo and Vin get their HEA, but the plot is far from finished, and is left to be continued in the next book, and I'm super excited to read what happens next.

This is actually my first read from Mel. I know shocker I’m mad at myself too because wow the writing is so amazing and I feel really honoured to be able to read this Arc of His Mate By Vengeance because who doesn’t absolutely love an enemy’s to lovers, I do I can’t tell you that much

Okay enough of me blabbing and let me tell you about my experience reading this book

Honestly I instantly fell en love with vin his sassy personality just did it for me I really love how inept he is with his feelings and his being overall he has so much confidence it’s true admirable
I would however have loved if we could have seen a little bit more of his back story and how he became who he is I really think that would have made an excellent addition to the story

Let’s not forget about sweet Angelo who has so much mistrust and trauma on his shoulders regards to vampires yet by faith his mate is one
I feel like Angelo’s hesitation towards his feelings for vin is totally valid and I understand it fully however when it comes to life about what they really are to each other I feel like he came around a bit too quickly I would’ve loved if they had a little talk about everything that’s been happening in their lives before they just jump straight into bed

I would also like to agree with the author that this book was a little short but it did fit them just right I think we got what we needed and the story in the plot really gave the series a great start. I am totally excited for the next addition to this series

And of course, let’s not forget about this smut within this book quite frankly there wasn’t as much but it was just right. There was so much sexual chemistry between the two main characters. You could really feel the lust and want through the pages. That’s really something I appreciate.

I had to give this book a 4/5 star rating. I really love the book and the plot but there was some points I would’ve liked to get in there otherwise this was really an amazing read and there is so much potential for this series I also really liked how the shifter part of the book was portrayed though usually when I read books about shifters, they go into a little more about their physics about it and I would really love to know a little bit about how these particular shifters work

A paranormal fated mates romance between a wolf-shifting bodyguard and a sassy vampire! The grumpy and emotionally guarded bodyguard, Angel, finds solace in his dedication to his pack after experiencing a tragic family event. On the other hand, Corvin, a solitary assassin, appears to be a loner who maintains a reserved demeanor but has a smart mouth and likes to push buttons. Angel is given the task of guarding Corvin, who seems to have been framed and needs to clear his name for a bombing.

I really enjoyed the flirting and banter between Angel and Vin. It was sexy how they were both possessive of each other. They definitely were meant for one another. Angel just needed time to recognize his feelings for Vin. Great story and action packed! I'm excited about the next book. This was a good debut novel

This was unexpected. It sounded good, but it ended up being even better than I expected. This is a paranormal urban fantasy romance with mafia vampires, werewolves, and more. It's a lot, but it works. In this story, we get the reluctant romance between vampire Vin and wolf shifter Angelo (who HATES vampires for what they did to his family. Which is fair). Vin isn't deterred by Angelo's pushback. He's very determined. This story is fun and action-packed, and the romance is surprisingly sweet. The banter is fun, there's plenty of spice, and the world building is very interesting. Vin and Angelo are great characters and very well written, so it was easy to like them. It's a rather quick read, but it doesn't feel rushed either. All in all, this was a great read, and it definitely has me looking forward to the rest of this series.

My reading slump had been dragging on for a while, but thanks to Mel Aitchess, I just devoured this book in (almost) one sitting. It’s short, addictive, and honestly anything with enemies to lovers but make it soulmates, I'm totally in.

This book has a nice romance and pretty good world building with the supernatural world of werewolf's, vampires and witches.
It has a good plot that intrigues me to the next book to know who is behind it and why. The main-plot is the romance though, which is fine. I was just always more invested when the book came to the looking for who did it parts, the bigger picture.
The characters lack a bit but the further I got into the book the more I understood them and the more I liked them. I just wish it didn't take me 70-80%.

I really enjoyed this short novel and I feel like it's a great start to a series. I really enjoyed the writing style and it was easy to read.

Angelo is a wolf shifter, who lost his family at the hands of a vampire assassin and Vin(Corvin) is a vampire assassin whom he has to keep safe for a couple of days in a safe house that is a cabin in the woods. Sparks fly from the get go, even if neither of them know why. Vin is very sassy and sunshiny and flirts with everyone, while Angelo is grumpy and tries to be detached from people. But Angelo cannot deny the pull Vin has on him and his wolf. I found it very cute when his wolf licked Vin, or just went up to him to get petted. I loved that Vin sometimes called him puppy and I think I would have enjoyed it if it would have also happened in the bedroom.

Vin didn't really fight their connection, but Angelo did and I'm happy that he didn't fight it too long. It was also great to see that Vin decided that Angelo is his and he would do anything for him. The wooing gift Vin got Angelo was exactly what he needed. I loved the possessivness we got to see from Angelo, either by him growling, scent marking Vin or giving him his clothes to wear.

This was a short novel, but I didn't feel like we missed out on anything because of the length. We got to know quite a few side characters, but we also got to see Vin and Angelo's relationship progress. I loved that they would have both done anything to save each other and the fact that at the start it was an unconcious thing from both of them was even better.
