After a tragic accident claims her mother's life, Amber's world is forever changed when her father remarries a woman with twin sons. As years pass, Amber finds herself in a modern-day fairy tale as her stepmother cruelly thwarts her plans to attend prom. With the help of an unexpected ally who bears a striking resemblance to a certain fairy godmother, Amber seizes a chance for a night of enchantment and unexpected revelations. Will she find her own happily ever after amidst the shadows of grief and longing?
"Ever since the first day we met her. We have protected her, and cared for her...It's always been her."
Cinder-Never is a super sweet, super quick, Cinderella retelling. Taking place in a modern day high school setting, the character roles have been amended to suit the story in the best way. This story could easily be expanded to pad out the complexity of Amber's suitation and what her less than enchanted life looks like. The ending is definitely a nice spin on the story and well deserved for our dear old wicked step-mother!
