When you meet your one when she's dressed as a unicorn, and she grabs your dick 😆😆

This author is usually a safe bet for me, especially with dual V novellas—I'd say about 90% of the time! 😂 I usually dive into her books as soon as they come out because I just know I'm going to love them, and they're 100% safe. Plus, I'm all about that insta-love vibe she has going on in every story. 🤭
This one’s no different, and I had a blast with it. It's totally over the top ridiculous, but hey, that's the beauty of fiction. 😂 I really love her epilogues, too. And tbh, I'm really greedy for them. It's always fun to check in on the MCs and see what their lives are like years down the road. 🥹

I enjoyed this sweet, mellow, no angst, instalove story! We have Drake the billionaire recluse and his feisty unicorn, Madeline. Madeline was told by her cousin Tyler (I want his love story!), that there is a costume party, but forgot to tell her that it is masquerade ball, so she shows up in a onesie unicorn costume! She meets Steele, a huge bouncer who has a smirk on his face once he sees her costume (their banter on the way out had me chuckling, and also I want his love story too!). Once she enters and fights her arachnophobia, she is mortifies when she sees it is fancy ball, trips and falls and tries to grab onto something, turns out she latched onto our heroes dick. Good thing it is hers and only hers, she just doesn't know that yet! Drake is amused and the banter between the two had me in stitches. Mind you, she still has her hand clasped around his privates. The whole story is funny since it is a light hearted rom com full of heart. These two instantly connected as if they had known each other forever. Drake sees her and just knows that he has to make her fall in love with him, get married and have babies with his little unicorn. In the sea of elegant ballgowns, they decide to flee and have their own little Halloween night adventure.
Drake does not want to be at the ball. All he can think of is leaving. He has been bullied in middle and high school, because of an incident that happened when he was a kid, and he lives in the same town he grew up in so now some of the people in town think he is just a weird recluse, completely oblivious to the fact that he could not shake off the feeling of being mocked for years, so he shut out people from his life, preferring solitude and taking care of his basic needs with his own hand.
Madeline is afraid of love. She believed her parents were once in love until they divorced and even though she had material things, they were gifted to her by her parents because they wanted to spite each other. If her dad got her something nice, the mom would get something nicer. If the mom went on a trip, then the dad would take Madeline to an even nicer trip, so she was in a tug of war with her parents, missing out on one thing she wanted. Love. Instead, she fears it, so her brain fights her heart that desperately wants to love her sweetheart, billionaire recluse.
When Drake reveals why he sequesters himself in solitude, she wants to give him good Halloween memories, so she looks for a bag and they go trick or treating. They get to Miss Violas house who is such a hoot! I love her! She gives them booze, chocolate, and sage advice. He takes her near a graveyard to a place where there are tons of Halloween decorations in different poses. He explains that he started to put them there and year after year, more would just appear, never knowing who keeps adding to his collection and why. (The reason is sweet and I mention it later).
When they leave they get to his mansion and are all over each other, experiencing sex for the first time. He tells her he loves her and knows that she is afraid of love, but once the magic three words are said, he just cannot stop saying it to her, turning it into a balm of healing.
After a passionate weekend, she needs to go to work where she talks to Tyler about Drake, after she threatens to kill him for not telling her it was a fancy party. After a good laugh, Tyler tells her in all seriousness that she deserves love and her parents were never in love to begin with which left her to ponder. Drake cannot stand being away from his woman, so he goes to her job, only to hear gossip on why the recluse is out. He feels so self conscious and thinks of turning back until he sees Madeline who is sad seeing that he was going to maybe leave, but he wasn't. He tells her so many times he loves her and she echoes the words back, shyly. She does this only after he pleads with her to say the words back to him.*sigh* This was such a sweet moment of him being so openly vulnerable to her, but she fought past her fears, and I am happy she did!
At his place they have some more sexy times. Drake breaks his fear of being around people and goes out with his unicorn and we get the sweetest, classic rom com ending of them running away from Sheriff Midnight, hand in hand laughing. It made me smile, and the epilogue made me both audibly say, awww, and made me chuckle. Drake is a fantastic dad and Madeline a sweetheart of a mom.
Remember the secret spot with all the Halloween decorations? Drake started that when he was a kid, by putting Halloween decorations he stole from the kids that bullied him at school. As the years would pass, Halloween decorations just started to appear, year after year his collection would grow and he didn't know who put them there. He just let it. Turns out the people in the town knew he was the one who started putting them there , and they kept adding to it in hopes of showing him that he is a part of this community, even thought he shies away from them, they want to show him that they are sorry for how he was treated and that was their way of showing him. Some people might have been oblivious to him, but others weren't, so they just silently added to his collection as a form of apology. That part was so wholesome I have to admit, it made me she a tear.

It is these exchanges that never fail to make me clasp my hands together with a big smile on my face, sighing in sheer happiness. Witnessing two people giving each other their momentous first time to each other is just the pinnacle of romance and I always swoon and am left with joy in my heart. To me the sex between them is hot because they never shared that part of themselves with anyone else AND I believe they are madly in love!
Of course when there is witty banter between the two it makes it even more enjoyable, because I just prefer happy-happy-joy-joy, sweetness upon sweetness in romance. High angst and drama just gives me anxiety and leaves me in a somber mood which is not what I want in my escapism, so happy, rom coms are my favorite and Nichole Rose writes them so well. I am hoping that she gifts us with more DV sweet, rom coms in future.
I want Steele, the behemoth doorman's love story and I want Tyler, Madeline's cousin's story too. We get a good glimpse into Tyler's history,

Who am I kidding I am hoping we get both, with their own DV love stories! *Giving Nichole Rose the look that Agnes from 'Despicable Me' gives Gru, with her adorable big brown eyes, when she wants him to read a bedtime story* (Agnes is too cute for words!)
I enjoyed this story very much! The love is sweet, the sex is hot, the banter is funny, the side characters are intriguing, the Halloween vibes are aplenty and I was left with a smile on my face and happiness in my heart. I wish that for you readers, so I highly recommend this! I will reread this in future again and again, and not just in spooky season!

I think this might be one of my new favourite rom-coms because this book had me smiling and giggling from the very beginning. The meet cute was absolutely hilarious and had me hooked to see where the chaos led. Madeline was a hot mess and I loved her for it. She was scared of everything yet so incredibly brave at the same time. Drake was protective and possessive, but had cut himself off from the world because of a past trauma. The two of them together were electric, you could feel the chemistry coming off the pages. The steamy scenes were so well done, mixing steam and humour that created the best kind of sparks. I REALLY need books for Jack, Tyler and Steele. All three were such amazing side characters that I just need to know more and watch them get their HEA. This one was a double virgin trope as well and I definitely think that added to the story. No cheating or OM/OW drama, mild breeding kink, insta love, HEA and an epilogue 6 years in the future. I love Midnight Falls and I can’t wait to read more of their stories!

Quick, easy read. Safe, he’s a loner and the towns outcast/grump, it’s insta love when they meet at a Halloween party / masquerade, when she’s wearing a unicorn costume.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Drake and Madeline met at a Masquerade party her cousin told her to go to. When Madeline arrives she's wearing a unicorn costume and doesn't realize what kind of party it is. The bouncer doesn't tell her and is laughing at her as she goes in. Madeline finds fake spiders along the way and she's afraid, she starts mumbling to herself. Madeline soon discovers what the party is and starts talking to herself. Madeline decides to leave the party before anyone sees her. When Madeline turns she runs right into Drake and stumbles then grabs his dick. Madeline doesn't let go, Drake has to pry her finger off of him. They introduce themselves, and Madeline can't believe she's standing in front of Drake Whitlock. Madeline asks Drake if he's going to have her arrest instead he tells her he's going to marry her. So Madeline tells him he's insane, but he tells her he knows what he wants. Drake asks Madeline if she'll leave with him, since they both don't want to be here. After some thought Madeline decides to leave with Drake, then he helps her into his truck. They talk along the way about how many people Madeline wants to murder, first her cousin for telling her to go to this Halloween party. Drake is willing to help her and she tries to figure out why. Madeline confesses she's never went home with a guy before, Drake tells her he's never done this before either. They continue to talk, finding out things about one another. Drake tells her what happened to him when he was twelve and why he lives alone. Madeline doesn't like what Drake when through as a child, so she tells him to pull over. Madeline searches Drake's truck for a bag, when she finds one she tells him they're going trick or treating. Drake wants to know why they are going trick or treating and she tells him she knows how it feels to go through trauma, she did when she was growing up. Drake knows the lady that lives in the house, she's been around for as long as he's lived in Midnight Falls. As they stand on her front porch talking, he introduces Madeline. It’s been an adjustment since she hates anything scary and due to a bad haunted house experience hates all things fear related. Her cousin, Tyler convinces her to attend a Halloween party at the local swanky bar. Her costume is a unicorn onesie, she wouldn’t think of even trying on anything scary.
When she gets to the bar the bouncer smirks at her costume choice, she wonders why. She finds out as soon as she enters, it’s an upscale fancy masquerade ball, not a costume party. Everyone is in tuxedos and ball gowns. Embarrassed she turns to leave and runs smack dab into Drake. Trying to not fall she goes to grab at him, unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, she grabs Drake’s cock. She’s mortified but Drake is intrigued and highly aroused. Their banter back and forth is funny. He finds her bewitching, she thinks he’s so handsome. He didn’t want to be at the party so when he asks her to leave with him she thinks about it for a minute and agrees.
They get to know one another on the drive to his place. But through the years people have found his site and have added to it. This makes him feel like a part of the community.

Nichole delivers again, I think Drake and Madeline maybe my favourite couple of the Midnight Falls series because their just so cute and hot together.
Loved it from the first chapter, knew I'd binge read it and I know I will definitely reread it. Madeline and Drake's banter and first meeting (dick grabbing ahead) had me laughing from the get go. Drake is intense, a dirty talking alpha male (swoon) who falls hard and fast for the town newcomer Madeline.
Convinced by her cousin to attend the "costume" party at the local bar, Madeline who isn't a fan of Halloween puts herself and her unicorn costume out of her comfort zone, only to find it's a masquerade party. In her attempt to make a quick escape she bumps into and grabs onto Drake's very eager to be acquainted appendage. His response sets the tone for the book with his dirty flirting, but banterful ways you're instantly drawn into their budding relationship wanting to know more and more.
What Nichole has done with midnight masquerade is given us a high heat read with a sprinkle of mild angst which is perfectly combined to give us a book you won't want to put down.

This book is part of the multi-author Midnight Falls, Texas series featuring the sassy,engaging, laugh out loud funny,insta-love romance between Drake and Madeline. Madeline is new to Midnight Falls so her cousin has invited her to a Halloween party however he failed to mention that it's not a costume party. She's mortified when she gets there and realizes she's the only one in costume so she decides to leave and that's when she bumps into Drake. Drake doesn't even want to be at the party he hates Halloween but as soon as he sees his unicorn Madeline he knows that he's found his forever. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this sassy,engaging, laugh out loud funny,insta-love romance with the funniest meet-cute to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Midnight Masquerade is the absolute perfect Instalove story. Nichole Rose is a master at writing an Instalove story, with characters that have beautifully broken back stories and who have depth. I loved Midnight Masquerade, not only for the love story, but the giggles I got throughout the whole book! Drake Whitlock, a man who hated people, bullied in his youth, a wonderful touch by Nichole, who saw his out-of-place Unicorn, and knew in that instant his life would never be the same. Madeline Dooley, a woman who has been filled with fear of, well everything since childhood. When Madeline agreed to attend a Halloween party, albeit she hates Halloween, she knew she would dress in something that is the complete opposite of scary, a unicorn! Boy, was she wrong!!! I loved it, I could not stop reading Midnight Masquerade!!! Five Stars!!!!

This book is a part of the Midnight Falls, Texas series and focuses on Drake and Madeline. Madeline is brand new to town when her cousin invites her to a Halloween party but forgets to inform her that it was definitely not a costume party. She is highly unamused when she decides to flee the party but instead ends up running into Drake. Drake has a complicated history with Midnight Falls after an incident when he was a kid. He has spent his life isolating himself from everyone in town. One look at Madeline and he knows that he has found the other half of his soul. He is determined to win her over and tie her to him in all ways as quickly as possible. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

I dont know how Nichole does it BUT SHE DEFINITELY DID IT AGAIN!
Drake and Madeline was so cute and adorable together! I love how sassy the women Nichole write but Madeline was my favourite. Their meet-cute had me laughing all night.
AND THEIR BANTER WAS SO HOT!!!🥵🥵 I love how Nichole always tries to put hard topics between her characters because it was brings me joy and happiness when I get see how they overcome their problem. And how Madeline overcomes her fear of love (because of her parents) with the help of Drake and her cousin, is very interesting and amazing to see. In a lot of insta-love book, we dont really see that. This is why I would always go back to Nichole's books

I loved every minute of this Halloween story! Nichole totally created the perfect Halloween love story in a small package! Madeline and Drake meet at a Halloween masquerade ball where Madeline’s cousin may have told her the wrong dress code for the event.
In order to save herself from the deep embarrassment she turns to flee and almost falls over, but she reaches out to steady herself by grabbing onto the guy in front of her…and not with his shoulders either!!! That incident sets the whole story up for nonstop laughter, smiles, spice and the superb HEA! Loved it! Thank you Nichole for making my Halloween even better!

OMG! I love, love, love this story! It is so amazing. There are so many sassy, funny and ridiculous things going on. This story is truly woven through with a lot of laughs and sweet moments. Drake and Madeline are such an awesome couple. I love Maddie’s sassiness, her ability to constantly throw Drake off as her words contradict her actions. Learning about the struggles they each had in their youth and what they endured growing up, just makes them that much more relatable outside of the engaging interactions that occur between them. If you are looking for a Halloween story with snickers, sass and spice, this is definitely it!

This was so sweet, hilarious and steamy. I absolutely loved both Drake and Madeline. I loved that even being a recluse didn't stop him from going after the girl he knew was the one for him. He wasn't giving up on his soulmate. He has been hurt in his past and hasn't really gotten over it. Madeline as well, as been hurt. They both understand each other, their past pain and future hopes. I loved how they healed each other. I laughed so much. If you want something pretty light, this is for you. You will finish their story with a smile on your face. Totally a pick me up.

I accidentally fell onto it....honest!
Absolutely hilarious, it has love spells, Halloween magic, a theft shrine, a spite mansion, virgin sacrifices, lots of dirty promises and steamy action and Drake the gorgeous but weird recluse finding his unicorn and whisking her away to his.... dungeon or maybe his mansion. Whisking her somewhere to do naughty, depraved but delicious things to her.... repeatedly.
I'm packing my bags to move to Midnight Falls, it's crazy but also like a giant family they are your crazy to love.

Nichole Rose is a go-to author for novellas. The 110-page Halloween-themed story “Masquerade Midnight” was sweet, steamy, and funny. It had an almost Beauty and the Beast meets Hubie Halloween vibe, but he's a handsome billionaire.
The town hasn't treated Drake well over the years, and they are also dealing with rumors about him. He lives reclusively but reluctantly goes to a masquerade party and meets Madeline, who wears one of those unicorn onesies. Their meet-cute is, and their time together is hot. This was a fun read.

Madeline is funny. She kept me chuckling throughout the book. I don’t think most authors can pull off a character like her without her coming off as cringy but Rose nailed the fun loving personality.
Drake has lived a hermit life but is so sweet and is ready to come out of his shell for Madeline.
I love the way Rose worked in Halloween to this novella. Between the decorations, costumes, adult trick or treating, and some spicy times it was everything I wanted!

Instalove
Talk about a serious instalove story. One look and it was all over, for him. In all fairness, it didn’t take much for her to fall too. When a Halloween party doesn’t sit well (mainly cause you aren’t dressed properly) what do you do?! Escape? Run? Flea? Or try that and run smack dab into fire? This was a cute Halloween quick read with fun back story and amazing characters. This had me binge reading and laughing so hard. Full of fun storyline, heartfelt moments and snark. Seriously an enjoyable book I am sure to read again in the future.

Madeline is a new resident in Midnight Falls the Halloween town. Only problem is that she's not a Halloween fan. She gets talked into a party at Trick or Treat. Her costume is a unicorn onesie and all the others are wearing ballgowns. She runs into Drake and when these two meet sparks instantly fly. Drake is the town recluse and his whole life changes when he meets the love of his life. They both fall hard and fast for each other. Instalove, OTT,sweet, steamy, romantic,fun to read and totally safe (both of them were virgins 😏) and with an awesome HEA😍😍😍😍 Can't wait for the next stories 🥰

I like this story. It was heartfelt n funny n has a wonderful message in it. But what happened to the mmc when he was a kid was so sad. I believe in forgiveness n second chances, but I wanted to whoop the butts of everyone who hurt him n the fmcs parents . A part of me don't feel like the townspeople who gossip n was mean to the mmc did not deserve him forgiving them . Would like to have seen them be held accountable. Other than that, I loved the personalities n banter . Was awesm .

This is an ARC review for my honest opinion. I finished this book in one day it's kinda short but you get a lot of details. This book made me laugh and feel bad about some of the things the two main characters went through. You will enjoy this book if you are into romantic comedies. I felt like the two were a real couple instead of a book couple. Now I want to know what happens with Madeline's cousin.

This was a fantastic instalove romance. It was a story that I would love to have made into a movie if only for the beginning that would just be amazing. It was a great way to get the story started with a lot of humor and then it became a more serious and also steamy. Drake and Madeline had so much chemistry and I couldn’t get enough of them together.

Healing from trauma
Drake and Madeline story was funny and emotional and hilarious to read. Both hated Halloween for different trauma that happened in there lives. Drake stealing Halloween decorations for petty revenge and had help from the people that bullied him. Now it's turned in sexual encounters of Halloween spirits. Madeline learning that just because her parents were toxic together doesn't mean they would be to.😂😂
