The Lawsons #2

Falling in Love with Two

Rate this book
My life was already a mess, but I never expected it to spiral this far out of control. After a few wild nights that seemed like they’d never catch up with me, I’m suddenly facing a reality I wasn’t prepared I’m pregnant. The shock of it all leaves me reeling.
Thankfully the universe gave me Dylan—a force of nature with a charm that’s impossible to ignore. He’s like a sexy golden irresistibly magnetic, effortlessly charming, and always there with that grin of his. When he offers me a lifeline, it comes with a proposition I can’t move in with him and face this new chapter together.
Living with Dylan is anything but ordinary. Our fiery chemistry quickly turns into something much deeper, and our passionate encounters leave me questioning everything I thought I knew about love. As we navigate the chaos of our new life, from morning sickness to the challenges of cohabitation, we must confront our own fears and hopes for the future.
I not only have to come to terms with opening myself up for a relationship but also the fact that I’m going to be a mother. Both of those are hard pills to swallow, but one day at a time, I’m learning I don’t have to do it alone.

**Although second in a series, Falling in Love with Two can be read entirely on its own.

Just like the first one. A cute story that’s slow to spice but when the spice hits, the spice is spicing!

I enjoyed this book, again Stephanie has done a great job with the story itself, it’s definitely a heartwarming cozy read with humour and spice. I liked the surprise pregnancy and found family trope is a nice change of pace. The characters were done well I enjoyed Leah the FMC, her past and the person she has become and Dylan being the only male sibling with 4 sisters was definitely a golden retriever MMC, the dual POV was good too as you could see both Leah and Dylan’s perspective and struggles/uncertainty
Overall this was a good read and definitely recommend it to those who enjoy found family and surprise pregnancy cozy reads.

In this book it shows life isn’t perfect, love certainly isn’t.

And mother nature can kick your backside even when you’re careful and use protection

Overall a fun read, made me laugh in places. Recommended read

Read this ARC on my anniversary spa trip and couldn’t put it down! The banter was hilarious and I loved the beginnings of their relationship. Opening dedication couldn’t have been more accurate. Really light hearted and easy read for me!

Oh Stephanie, you got me with this one! I absolutely LOVE Dylan!!! He is the golden retriever we all deserve! I felt so much for Leah, when the people who are suppose to love you more than anyone turn their backs on you it is so hard to feel worthy of love. This one resonated and it made my heart so happy for Leah to realize her worth! That Dylan gave her that love she never thought she deserved. This one got me in the feelz.... Had my crying and laughing. The banter was so good with these two and I fell even more in love with the Lawson crew! I can't wait to read about Ronnie!!! She is so tough I know it has to take a fierce man to tame that shrew and I am here for it!! Just downloaded the ARC and am about to dive in!!!! Thank you Stephanie for introducing me to the Lawson family!!!

Falling in Love with Two de Stephanie Renee Serie The Lawson's libro 2

Argumento:

Go Leah!

AMABA a Dylan!

This is book two of The Lawson’s series and the main characters are tattoo artist Leah Hargrove, who lives and works in the nearby town of Kensington, and Dylan Lawson who lives in Lilly Leaf Falls, Oregon and is a mechanic. His twin Ronnie (Veronica) is a travel photographer and doesn’t like to be anywhere for long, as well as being a serial dater, like Dylan himself used to be. He has slowed down and bought himself a house, being kept busy sorting everything out for it, so not been doing nay dating at all which almost makes her think he is thinking of settling down. No fear of that just yet, but he is going out drinking with work friends, as one of them celebrates a big birthday. As the night winds along, the younger ones want to go to a strip club and the oldest, and also married one, wants to get back to his wife. Dylan has no wish to sit and watch naked women along with the young guys and decides to make a move on the beautiful and curvy woman who spilt a drink on him at the bar, along with a wingman, Jamie, for her friend Amy. Amy is in fact both her boss and allows Leah to share her home. Amy took Leah out to their local watering hole, The Dells, to unwind and let loose, but in reality, has something unpleasant she needs to tell her. Her mother’s insurance will no longer pay for her care and so Amy needs to bring her home with her and there will be no room for Leah. Leah will have a month or so to find another place, which with her credit score, will be difficult!

Leah ends up going home with Dylan and certainly finds him very talented in bed, but it was only a one-night thing, so she left him asleep and made her way home to change before going to work. Dylan can’t stop thinking of her and his workmate Jamie, offers to get her number from Amy, who he is still seeing, but he doesn’t want to seem like a stalker. He and Leah had made a couple of drunken bets at the bar that night, so he decides to turn up at her work to pay the price for his loss, a tattoo! She had ignored her feelings for Dylan, knowing she needed to get her act together to find another place to live, which won’t be easy. She isn’t looking for a relationship, as her previous ones were fairly toxic and left her in a bad way, as did her own mother’s treatment of her. Leah has a few jealous moments when she sees him with a woman and doesn’t bother to question him, just think the worst of him! Once she gets over her embarrassment at her error about him, they decide to go for a drink, but his local and hers are not the best choice for a quiet night and so they go back to his again. She makes it plain she isn’t after a relationship or seeing this casual thing going any further, as she needs to sort out her life first, no matter how good he was with his tongue! Finding a torrid looking apartment to rent that she can afford, was not such a good feeling, but something she had to do for Amy.

Three weeks later, she finds out she is pregnant and wasn’t in a rush to tell Dylan, until an unexpected meeting soon takes that chance away and Dylan finds out. He asks her to move in with him, as he has the space, and she is carrying his baby. She gets to taste his cooking, something she is useless at, as well as cuddle up watching films, he finds out she has never seen before! Ronnie is the first to figure out he actually loves Leah, well before he would even admit it to himself, but he knows he can’t tell Leah, as it would probably make her run away. She believes after her first scan, that something is wrong with her, as she doesn’t seem to have any feelings for the baby growing inside her! She has lots of doubts about herself because of her past and sadly has a severe lack of sex drive. Not that their arrangement is to be a proper couple while she lives at Dylan’s place, just co-parents until she may be ready for more. Her second trimester soon changes all of that. She has opened up to Dylan about her past, her childhood and her relationships, and one sad point is her lack of celebrating her birthdays, with her 30th coming up in weeks. Dylan treats her brilliantly and helps to buck up her confidence every time she starts to doubt herself. The birth of their baby finally allows her to realise she does love the baby and can’t believe she ever thought she couldn’t. They have been dating and in a relationship for months, but it takes the baby’s arrival to finally realise she loves Dylan and wants to be with him and accepts his family as hers. A lovely story with a couple who couldn’t have had more different upbringings, which has affected how they come together and take so long to settle for a relationship together.

OMG Dylan is my new favorite book boyfriend! And I thought I loved the first book? This one just gave me all the feels!
Leah and Dylan meet at a bar one night. They really hit it off, and spend the night together. She's gone the next morning, without even giving him her last name. But Dylan can't stop thinking about Leah, so after he finds out the name of the tattoo parlour where she works, he makes an appointment, just so he can see her. After indulging in one more night, she tells him that she needs to get her act together, and that he's a distraction. A sexy distraction, but none the less. So they can't be together.
That gets harder a couple of weeks later, though, when Leah finds out she's pregnant. Since the apartment building she was about to move into was labeled a crime scene, Dylan offers her his spare room. He's really very sweet to her, with no expectations. She still doesn't want a relationship, but he can't let the mother of his child want for anything.
But is that all it is? Does he just feel obligated, or is it something more?
She's not used to having anyone care about her the way Dylan does. Her family wasn't nice to her after her mother remarried, and she left home at 17. But Dylan's family makes her feel welcome and loved.
It's a good story as they find a rhythm living together, even after she accuses him of having multiple other women. In fact, he has 4 sisters, one of whom is very pregnant.
There's some miscommunication, and plenty of stubbornness. And also plenty of denial as Leah keeps saying she doesn't want a relationship. What will she do when she realizes she's already in one?
OMG so cute and sweet. Dylan's family is crazy and supportive in equal measure. They're very close, and they welcome Leah as one of their own.
This was a really enjoyable read, and I'm looking forward to the next book!

This second book in the Lawson series is just as fun and easy to read as the first. I actually liked the characters better in this one; I feel they have a bit more substance.

Dylan and Leah are both self proclaimed serial daters, however, Dylan is starting to think he may be ready to settle down into a more serious relationship. Leah is trying to focus on herself and get her own life in order. One drunken night of fun and Dylan's "super sperm" do their job.

Leah still isn't ready for an actual relationship, but agrees to move in with Dylan, the "sexy golden retriever" when her best friend and roommate needs to move her sick mother in with her. Dylan is loyal, intelligent, understanding, and will do anything to make the mother of his child feel better. He is supportive of her decisions and maintains his calm when she is going through chaos. Leah isn't used to guys being genuinely good, nor is she used to supportive families such as the Lawsons.

Leah knows she is falling for Dylan, but can't quite convince herself she's lucky enough for him to stick around. Once you hear about her family and meet her mom, you begin to understand why. Dylan knows pretty much from the beginning he wants to be with Leah, but also understands she needs time to come to terms with how she feels and has the patience to wait her out.

The characters are great and there isn't a ton of plot or angst, just enough to keep it interesting. This is a book you can get lost in pretty easily if you like a lot of fluff, a little conflict, and some spice thrown in for flavor.

This book was SO 👏🏼 AMAZING 👏🏼

I’ll start off by saying that I am not a huge fan of the pregnancy trope, but Stephanie knocked this book outta the park ⚾️!

Main characters:
Leah - FMC
Dylan - MMC

PLOT:
The 2 MC’s hit it off at a bar and go home together for some (pretty epic) spicy time! Leah is not down to start a relationship because she has enough 💩 going on in her life that she has no desire to add a relationship into the 💩 show
Dylan (being the sexy Golden Retriever he is) respects her decision…well kinda. Since our FMC is a tattoo artist, Dylan decides it’s a good time for an awesome tattoo by Leah. After getting his tattoo, Leah and Dylan decide to go for one last hoorah! Extra steamy spicy time ensues 🤭

6 weeks later…you guessed it!
Super bummed and totally at odds with everything going on, Leah decides what’s one more thing to add to this 💩 show she calls life 🤷🏻‍♀️ She can do it all alone, right?

THOUGHTS:
I loved the writing. The dual POV always allows the readers to see both sides of the story.
Dylan is truly a golden retriever if there ever was one!
Leah is a hot mess express with an attitude to boot 🥾!
I felt connected with Leah in a wild way. She doesn’t want anything from anyone and is determined to navigate this world on her own.
But life has other plans for her

Such a great story!

Leah and Dylan meet for the first time at a bar and have a wonderful night together thanks to a dart game wager! 😆 While Leah is wild and sassy, Dylan is planning to settle down and has just bought a new home. Dylan is interested to take things further but Leah puts a stop to it as she is in a “mess”. Fate steps in to bring them together though, with Leah finding out that she is pregnant. This leads her to stay with Dylan, at his new home.

As we slowly learn about Leah’s past, my heart aches for her. And I am so glad that she finally has the Lawsons to be the family she needs. Suzanne is such an awesome mother seriously!

As her pregnancy progresses, their relationship changes as well. They start to understand each other better and Dylan shows us what a golden retriever he is! I liked that while it was fast and furious at the start, Dylan was so good at holding himself back to keep the pace at Leah’s readiness level.

The post pregnancy chapters were also beautifully written and as a mother myself, I can attest that all the doubt, the fear and all the tiredness can culminate into post partum depression. The issue is so real and not discussed often enough, so kudos to the writer for highlighting it here instead of ending with just a happy birth story.

When life throws you a curve, all you can do is take it by the horns and take control. Or you hope you can. Ms. Renee delivers a sweet, heartbreaking romance that shows us that love can be messy.
We are told the story of Dylan, a golden retriever who loves with his whole heart and Leah, a strong and sassy woman who has had a rough life but is making the best of what life has thrown at her. Their one night of hot and steamy sex, and Dylan is hooked but Leah does not want a relationship because her life is a hot mess. When life throws both of them a curve, Dylan embraces it, and Leah breaks down. Ideas are shared and plans are made that see the two of them forming a friendship but underneath feelings are blossoming into something that sees lines crossed.
I loved the witty banter that was shared between the two of them. Dylan is her knight in shining armor and the way that he supports her, tells her that she is worth all the good in the world and how much he sees her beauty both inside and out. The way Dylan's family embraced Leah made her feel a part of the family and had my heart feeling all warm and fuzzy. Even though she didn't have a family to help her she felt loved and wanted by his family.

This author has a knack for writing phenomenal male characters. You know, the ones we would dream up. And even better, they don't feel fake. Somehow, my brain is tricked into thinking this perfect guy could be real. lol Dylan is exactly that. He's patient, attentive, level-headed, and genuine.

Leah is a self-proclaimed crazy mess, but she's a lovable one. She's had a hard go at life, made several bad decisions, and is now trying hard to clean up her act and take responsibility for her future.

Neither are ready to be parents, but after two hawt bump and grind sessions and failed birth control, ready or not, baby is on the way!

Dylan has an amazing family who steps up to care for Leah, and that combined with Dylan's continued effort to show Leah what love looks like, crumbles Leah's walls. The progress of the pregnancy and how the two of them handle the adjustments together is funny and sweet at the same time.

This is a cute, heartfelt read that shows we can't always plan for things, but sometimes bumps in the road...or baby bumps in this case ;) ...can lead to amazing destinations.

I fell in love with the entire Lawson Family in the first book Loathe at First Sight and was glad to jump back in with Dylan's story. In this book Leah, a tattoo artist who's not looking for a relationship, gets to fall in love with the Lawson Family too. After hooking up with Dylan, Leah finds out she's pregnant and plans to have the baby on her own but fate and the Lawsons won't let that happen. Leah describes Dylan as a sexy golden retriever which is such a great description because he's just such an all around nice guy. I love Leah's character, she's tough as nails, sexy and still has this vulnerable side that peaks out. The story follows Leah and Dylan as they navigate an unplanned pregnancy, family issues, and moving in together. It's a sweet and sexy story of what happens when a one night stand goes wrong.

I've got you. - Three little words that mean so much to Leah when spoken by Dylan as they deal with the aftermath of two lines on a little stick. And he means it every single time. Neither of them was looking for more than a good time but they wound up with the greatest gifts - an adorable baby and a love everlasting. Another great story with a Lawson kid and a perfectly imperfect match who set each other on fire with a look. I laughed a lot while reading this one, teared up a few times too. The Lawsons are still loveable and Leah's special brand of sass is endearing. Suzanne is one of the best book moms ever, taking Leah to her heart with no hesitation. Leah is stuck with them all, giving her the family she was missing. I am loving this series and can't wait to read more about this family.

Dylan is a mechanic while out with friends meets Leah who is a wild and free tattoo artist. Leah is looking to forget her bad run of luck with love and life while Dylan is looking to settle down. Dylan and Leah share amazing banter and chemistry which leads to their surprise bundle of joy. Dylan comes from a big family with four sister’s and loving parents who are willing to help him anyway they can but Leah has never had that type of support so she doesn’t know how to accept help. The more time these two spend with each other the more comfortable Leah becomes with accepting help/support. Once the baby comes Leah is struggling and (not that I know from personal experience) but I feel it’s a really real/raw depiction of dealing with hormones and changes that occur. It’s a wild ride from night one and they don’t intend on slowing it down!

I was gifted this ARC by Stephanie Renee and I loved it!

Falling love with Two is the second book of the Lawson’s series and centered around Dylan’s book. Dylan the MMC is a golden retriever through and through, mostly because he is the only male siblings with 4 sisters and his strong mom. What happens when he meeting a total mess of a woman in Leah? A crazy love story!

This book centers on Leah and Dylan’s love story but it also tackles other problems, like estranged parents and PPD. For that reason alone I loved this book. I laughed with this book and cried!

The journey these two had and the patience Dylan had while Leah battle through this was amazing! Loved the dual pov, to see that it was not only Leah dealing with uncertainty but Dylan too.

Thank you Stephanie Renee for another great book!

A Heartfelt, Emotional Love Story

This book pulled me in with how real and emotional it felt. Dylan completely stole my heart—he’s the definition of a green flag. Supportive, steady, and always showing up in ways that matter most.

Leah’s journey is raw and moving, and what made me love this story even more was the way her strength grows alongside the love that’s offered to her. It’s about patience, trust, and learning that real love doesn’t come with pressure or judgment.

And the Lawson family? Still as supportive and warm as ever. They’re the kind of family everyone wishes they had, and it makes this series so comforting to keep reading.

Falling in Love with Two is heartfelt, emotional, and beautifully written—it’s a story about finding love in a safe place, and it leaves you feeling full of hope.

Stephanie has done it again!! I am absolutely obsessed with the Lawson family and each of their stories. Stephanie’s writing had a way of gripping you from the very first page. This story of Dylan and Leah was absolutely everything my heart needed! I found myself relating to Leah in so many ways, even down to her choice in foods and the way she acts. Then there is Dylan who is literally every woman’s dream man. Lord every time he speaks in this book my heart literally explodes!!! Not to mention is dream family, who is literally a heaven sent teaching you about the true meaning of family and the love/support they give. If you are looking for a heartwarming read with some laughs and spice. This book is for you, highly recommend and cannot wait to read the next one!!

Falling in Love with Two by Stephanie Renee is such a fun, heartwarming read! Leah’s journey from dealing with an unexpected pregnancy to falling in love with Dylan is super relatable. Dylan is seriously the perfect guy—loving, sweet, and totally swoon-worthy. Their chemistry is amazing, and the way he takes care of her is beyond adorable.

I also loved the family dynamics, especially the Lawson family, who show what true love and support look like. The story has the perfect balance of romance, laughs, and just the right touch of spice. If you're looking for a feel-good, steamy read, this book is for you! Highly recommend!.

This is book 2 in Renee's The Lawson's and can easily be read as a standalone. A delightfully fun, well written romance that is sweet, steamy and full of laughs. The dual POV was done wonderfully well and allowed us readers to understand both our main characters perspective. Our main characters are Dylan and Leah. Leah came thru so relatable in a hot mess kinda way. Dylan is amazing and I love him - some of his traits remind me of my hubby. Overall, I loved this read. The characters were fun, the storyline was smooth flowing and captivating and the balance of sweet and heat was great. The clincher for me was the laughs - I'm a sucker for a romance that can make me laugh!

I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a complimentary copy. Leah and Dylan meet and end up spending night together before parting ways. Leah is a tattoo artist and Dylan books an appointment with her and they end up spending the night together again. Time passes and Leah is pregnant but Dylan steps up to the plate. Leah life has not been easy some of it of her own making and now she is going to become a mother. Dylan is AMAZING, he opens his home to Leah to help her out. Will Leah realize that Dylan is perfect for her and just what she needs? I really enjoyed how these to get to know each other while falling in love.

Dylan Lawson is the golden retriever MMC we all deserve.

Really enjoyed this one! It had me laughing, tearing up, and completely falling for Dylan and Leah’s story. Stephanie Renee did such a good job blending humor, heat, and the messiness of real life into a heartfelt small-town romance.

Leah’s journey really resonated with me; her struggles with self-worth, her complicated past, and facing the shock of an unexpected pregnancy were written with raw honesty. Watching her slowly learn that she is worthy of love was beautiful. Dylan… oh Dylan. He’s charming, patient, and steady in all the ways she needed. The found family element, with the Lawson crew rallying around, added such warmth, and the dual POV really shows their vulnerabilities and growth.

This wasn’t just a romance; it was about building a life, finding strength in love, and realising you don’t have to do it alone. Cozy, funny, emotional - and the spice was just the cherry on top.

Stephanie Renee is quickly climbing to the top of my favorite author list. Her writing style and characters are perfect, add in the delightful spice(3.5-4🌶️) and every book is chefs kiss! I’ve read these books out of order so believe me when I say they can be standalones, but reading sprinkles of other stories throughout the books is great- it truly lends to the Lawson family story. Dylan the MMC is classic golden retriever energy from the jump but according to the spice that puppy isn’t a purebred. Leah is the mess Dylan needs in his life at just the right time. So if you’re looking for a great storyline, lovable characters, delectable spice, and a HEA, you will want to read this(or any of Stephanie Renee’s books)!

Leah has had a hard life. She left home at the age of seventeen. Twelve years later, she has her life semi on tract, until she needs to find a new place to live, and then finds out she's expecting. She moves in with Dylan, the baby's father, but isn't ready for a relationship.
Dylan grew up in a household of women and a wonderful dad, so he knows how to give women their space but still be there for them. Can he show Leah she's more ready for a relationship than she realizes, and he's not leaving her.

Another beautifully written story from Lilly Leaf Falls. Another Lawson falls in love.

Dylan and Leah were just the cutest.
Everything seemed to be in reverse, but the friendship they built was gorgeous!
Lovers-to-friends-to-lovers-to-family all the way!
I felt for Leah - with her mum and her background… her mum can go kick rocks. Such a huge difference to Dylan’s upbringing - and I’m glad that she managed to find him. Leah found her family, and Dylan found his forever.

Dylan’s mum redeemed herself in this story! She’s total mum goals!

I loved the way that the chapters were a new time in the pregnancy. On occasion, it felt OTT, but then, I remember, not everyone has a chill pregnancy… Ultimately, this was a sweet read.

My least favorite of the series at the moment. I LOVE reading through Dylan's POV with the Lawson family and Leah is the diamond in the rough that just works for the opposites attract.
I had to knock it down a star for the inconsistencies with pregnancy changes to the body, C-section, and postpartum healing and recovery. It genuinely felt like those parts were from the perspective of someone who hasn't been or been intimately close to someone through pregnancy and postpartum care.
To complete the sandwich compliment 😅 I still enjoy the family story building and the relationships that are evolving within the growing Lawson family. I'll be reading book 3 now ☺️

Back to the Hallmark town of Lilly Leaf Falls for an ONS/accidental pregnancy kind of love. They say a baby is not a bandaid to keep a relationship alive, but sometimes it can be the spark that sets it alight.

Golden retriever Dylan Lawson sets his sights on black cat Leah Hargrove. She takes a chance on him, expecting it to be just the one time, but nature/Fate/destiny have other plans. When she finds out she is pregnant, she wasn't planning to tell him, but when he finds out, he is all in and ready to prove to her that she should be too.

This book is everything you love about romance; it was funny, sweet, and had the perfect amount of steam. Dylan was so patient and understanding while Leah figured herself out. I could really relate to the pregnancy and new motherhood and how it was a struggle. This book was real and raw and dealt with lots of emotions and through it all Dylan stood by her side just like he promised. Highly recommend and look forward to reading more by Stephanie Renee.
