A Vampire Hunter and a Vampire… what will become of the new pairing when Dave and Sarah are forced to work together to stay alive after the hunters compound is attacked? 🧛‍♀️🩸

It took me a bit to get into the book but once I did it was a fast paced, quick read. You learn about the characters pasts and what brought them to their current predicament.

There is a present theme of you are stronger than you know; keeping going, as well as to believe in yourself and the power you hold. Don’t give up the fight or on yourself.💪🏻

Thank you to the author, Elli Morgan and Plunge Into Book Tours, for the opportunity to read this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

“Eternity is longer than you might realize. If you find yourself someone to share your life with, don’t let him slip away.”

Yes, I signed up for this ARC because I will forever be obsessed with vampire romances, and this book, let me tell you, this book had me on a chokehold. I was so surprised with how fast I devoured this book, it was like blood to a new-turned vampire. I was trying to pick highlights and I just have way too many.

The Shadowed Moon follows Sarah, who was taken by vampires when she was young to be trained as a soldier, to be turned into a vampire. When she turned eighteen, her captors turned her, and with her new found strength added to her training, she escaped, with one goal- to end the evil of her own kind. That’s when she met Dave, a vampire hunter dedicated to capturing and ending the enemy. But when Dave learned more about what Sarah is fighting for, and when Sarah helped the humans who captured her, Dave is slowly realizing that he will do everything in him to help Sarah get her revenge. And that’s on Twilight x Divergent PERIODT. Hehe.

More things I loved-
- despite this being a paranormal romance, I was sooo glad that the romance part didn’t overpower the plot.
- The trauma bonding was so real on this one, Sarah felt like she doesn’t deserve to be loved & Dave felt like he doesn’t deserve to love Sarah lol
- The book is in two parts and the flow is good, it is easy to follow, and there are only a handful of characters and their personalities are a nice mix
- The political clash made this more interesting, Part 2 of the book felt like it was always on an uphill, it was so good.
- I loooooooove Lilah and Cain! They’re my favorite part of this book honestly, those words of wisdom from Cain was a nice touch.
- It’s an open-ended HEA that will make you crave for more.
- I had a minor dilemma though, (-0.20) the world building was a little rough, it took me a couple of chapters before I learned the setting, where it’s taking place, the era, etc., but after that it was an easy read.

Read this if you love-
- Vampire x Hunter
- Twilight x Divergent vibes
- enemies to friends to lovers
- Slow slow burn, only one bed x3 lol, spice lvl 1
- Found family, adorable human kids!

More than a romance and revenge, The Shadowed Moon is a story of accepting the good in who you are despite all the bad, and letting people in. This paranormal romance book is a light and easy read, that you can devour in one sitting.

Thank you author Elli Morgan, I for sure will be reading Lilah and Cain’s story next. Hehe.

I enjoyed the shadow moon novel I haven't read a vampire novel in a while. So was refreshing. Was a little slow til a few chapters in then it picked up. We'll thought out plot. Good character building, could have been drawn out a little making people guess more of what to expect from each character. I loved how she portraits Sarah, Dave I'd love to see what the authors next move would be for these two. It's a gripping series thus far. Dying for book 2.

Sarah is fighting off the urge to feed on the hunter. She goes to the point of starvation before seeking blood since she was turned six months before, but she isn't interested in the hunter's blood - she has a proposition for him. One she hopes he will listen to.

She was kidnapped when she was seven and although they waited until she was eighteen to turn her into the monster she was today she had been tortured and trained as a vampire soldier since being taken after her family was slaughtered.

Now she wants to help the vampire hunters in killing the vampires... monsters like herself.

I loved this book! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Although this book has its own HEA the characters from The Waxing Moon are part of Sarah and Dave's story.

This book is action-packed and full of danger as Sarah undergoes experiments so the hunters can learn any vampire weaknesses. Although this is a romance the story focuses more on their mission to kill the vampires that prey on the innocent.

Highly recommend!

Elli Morgan’s “The Shadowed Moon” follows a young vampire named Sarah McAllister who has escaped from her captors, only to find herself once again captured by a hunter named Dave Patton. She goes on a quest for revenge, to kill the people who turned her into a vampire. Through her time at the hunter’s compound and with his help, Sarah discovers valuable lessons that will help shape her life.

Morgan’s take on the vampire genre felt original and fresh while also keeping the familiar aspects audiences have come to know and love. We see a lot of inner turmoil and ponderings about morality from the main characters through the third-person point of view. Their respective development felt very natural and flowed well with the narrative. Their motives are clear as what they want out of life changes throughout the novel.

The blossoming relationship between the hunted and the hunter is well done in the sense that it doesn’t take away from the self-acceptance that Sarah must find on her own. Her strength and stamina are a part of her personality from the beginning, and that only builds as she fights her enemies. The hunter’s character, Dave, helps her without becoming her sole power source.

I love the inclusion of the secondary characters. They tie the themes of humanity and self-acceptance together perfectly. The children remind Sarah of the good and innocence in the world. Lilah and Cain show Sarah how to stop getting in her own way and to believe in the power she holds inside. Dave, Lilah, Cain, and the children all help Sarah along her journey of discovery.

The language is clear and concise. However, there are moments when a character is referred to using pronouns without clarifying who is speaking or being referred to by name. It caused some small moments of confusion, especially if there were more than two people in one scene.

Morgan challenges the line between good and evil, showing readers that there is a lot of life to live for everyone and that we all have an immeasurable power within ourselves.

This is a redemption story, not just for Sarah the vampire, but for Dave the Hunter as well. Neither chose what they are and became what was necessary to survive a horrific past. Great storyline and I loved Sarah and Lilith, but Dave was to easily swayed to liking Sarah, I feel that part could have played out a bit longer, I understand the Author had to move the story forward, but that’s the way I feel. Also on the plus side : great editing !! 4✨’s I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Sarah had a terrible childhood being raised by the vampires so she decided to give herself up to Dave a vampire hunter. She told them everything they asked about the vampires and Dave felt things for her. She told them how to train to kill the vampires better but when the compound was attacked by vampires she helped the hunters.

Really good story. At first I did not know what to expect. Sarah turning herself over to Hunters. It just seamed wrong. Then her view point came out to play and then it seamed natural. I enjoyed the story. I don't know if there will be more for this series or not. I hope so. I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It took me a few chapters to really get into it but once I did it hooked me.

I thought the character development was done well, even if it was done quite quickly. There was a potential to draw it out a bit more to make it more impactful when things changed (trying not to give spoilers!)

But overall, I thought it was written well and had a good plot.

Elli Morgan writes an incredibly thrilling vampiric tale with The Shadowed Moon

In The Shadowed Moon, the reader is introduced to Dave, who is a vampire hunter. Dave is intent on ridding the world of the vicious vampires, until he meets Sarah. A vampire who, in their custody, but there is something different about Sarah. I am a fan of Elli Morgan and want to read whatever this author writes. This author has a grand imagination, and talent for showing the story. What I like it is not your typical vampire trope, and it doesn't romanticize vampires, even the broken Sarah, who as groomed to be a soldier her entire vampiric life. Elli Morgan has built a great world surrounding the vampires and the vampire hunters. They have reasons for what they do, and not everyone believes that some should be spared, while others may crumble under their emotions or feelings. This may seem like a human vampire star-crossed lovers story, but it is action packed as the reader learns more about the hunters and the hunted, and sometimes, the hunters are the hunted. This story is a definite attention grabber, so much I couldn't put it down. A reader can get lost in the story. Talk about chemistry, so much that it is magnetically charged! The Shadowed Moon is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review. This was an entertaining book. I loved how it shows the FMC, Sarah, coming into her own. How much she has grown while with Dave and the rest of the vampire hunters. How their relationship blossoms into something more but are afraid to show any affection towards each other.

Dave is a vampire hunter that captures Sarah, a vampire, and imprisons her. However, Dave hates vampires and so does Sarah. After talking with Sarah, Dave starts to like her. She even starts to train with some of the hunters so they can be better at defeating vampires. Sparks fly when they start to fight together and meet more vampires that want to help. But, can they be trusted? Will they defeat the ones that tortured Sarah when she was human? Will Dave tell Sarah how he feels? Only one way to find out.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is a sweet quick read. Sarah is conflicted with being a forced turned vampire. Dave is full of hatred for the vampire race. Each of them has perfectly good reasons to feel this way. This story is about ridding themselves of their hatred to work together which pushes them into seeing each other differently. It is about putting aside predigest and really seeing that person as something other than what they are; so, you can move forward in life. I enjoyed the fast pace of the book; the characters are enjoyable with their sweet somewhat innocence view of the world especially considering what they each had gone through. I look forward to seeing where the author takes these characters.

I enjoyed a good vampire romance, so when the novel came up for review, I said count me in. The author is new to me, and I must say I enjoyed what she came up with.

Dave is a vampire hunter, determined to put all blood-drinkers to death after they took too much from him. Sarah is one of those blood drinkers, but she loathes what she’s become, having been turned against her will. She wants Dave to save her from a life of killing innocent people.
