An ancient book leads those in dire straights to the location of the Devil's Treasure, but the Devil can't be trusted, and his brother is worse. There's an eclipse coming, and with it, blood and death and snarky, loud-mouthed evil.
Chisto started writing as a child and it was always his biggest passion, though he is also a musician and artist. When he was forced to quarantine in March 2020 due to the pandemic, he decided to focus on his writing and write full-time and has since had 100 stories accepted to be published, many of which are already out there. He hopes this is only the beginning...
This was a very unique premise. Reminded me a bit of Krampus: The Yule Lord by Brom. I really enjoyed how large-scale the authors decided to go, transversing different dimensions and, even down to the local level, with our leads. Each one with their own backstory, ambitions, and very well-rounded development. I did want more time with Sabian. There was a lot of build up and I was waiting for some big, jaw-dropping moments with him, but it never quite got there. And there was an awful lot to tackle in just shy of 200 pages. I felt like if this was either split into separate books or just elongated as the one, either scenario would have alleviated the somewhat crammed content. Very good effort by both authors.
Healy and Shrader absolutely DELIVERED on this one! I have a strong feeling that ‘The Devil’s Treasure’ is about to be a huge hit the second it drops and surely to blow everyone out of the water like it did me cuz WOW. 🤯
The Devil’s Treasure is a story that revolves around this ancient book that only leads to chaos and disorder. “The Chosen” are tricked person after person into getting “what they desire most.” You may think the Devil is bad news but his brother is 10 times worse. Are you brave enough to find ‘The Devil’s Treasure?’
Derek, father and ex husband, has beat cancer but he isn’t happy about it. His treatments and his divorce have depleted his bank account and he has not one ounce of positivity. His son, Robert, is the opposite. He’s constantly trying to keep his dad in high spirits and tell him that “money isn’t everything” but what does he know, he’s only 18. - says Derek
When Derek is out drinking his sorrows away he finds a homeless man that is pawning off this ancient bible book of some sorts and Derek is suddenly mesmerized by this message in the book and is hellbent on finding this treasure to solve his financial burden. He convinces his son that he needs to find this treasure and he obliges. However, this journey quickly turns for the worst and this father and son duo is in grave danger. 🫣🫠
Healy and Shrader did such a fantastic job writing this story together. Every chapter flowed together seamlessly and had me on the edge of my seat as to what would happen next. I truly did not see the plot twist that was ahead and it had me SHOOK. 😳😱😲😵💫
The Devil’s Treasure will be released on June 16th, 2024.
I'm a huge fan of Chisto and I was interested to see how he and Dan would weave this particular title. I have to say I was pleased. A man loses everything despite beating cancer but sees an opportunity to change his fortunes when a mysterious book pops up. The story was suspenseful and Sabian was one bad mofo! I don't want to spoil the story.
All I can say is that greed is indeed mankind's biggest weakness. Read for yourself if you dare!
Another winner for Chisto and Dan! I read this in one sitting.
I love when two writers can get together and create a story that reads seamlessly, without it being obvious who wrote what parts. Chisto Healy and Dan Shrader did that flawlessly in The Devil’s Treasure. A story of an ancient book that has religious undertones, demonic elements, evil as a whole, and everything in between. I have a good feeling this book is going to appeal to a lot of different audiences. From the tone, writing style, and of course the plot. Oh and the twist that happens?! Top tier!! Definitely add this one to your TBR asap!
Book releases on June 16th and is available for preorder now.
Oh and shoutout to Christy Aldridge on another amazing cover!!!
What an absolutely fantastic book8. Two absolute legends of the Splatterpunk world, proving they can deliver in another style. Fast paced, gripping and ends with a beautiful twist.
