First of all, the cover of this book is so inviting and calming, it immediately drew me in and made me want to read the book. Whenever I read a non-fiction book, I start by reviewing the table of contents, and then I flip through the pages to scan the subheadings and text boxes. Everything is Here to Help You is set up in an easy to follow format with subheadings that are self-explanatory and text boxes with guided exercises.
I must admit, I was a little concerned when I read on the very first page of the introduction that the author, Matt Kahn, walked out of college and "...boldly declared the Universe [his] university of higher learning ... guided by an irrefutable force of inner knowing" (page xi). This concerned me, because I feel strongly we need to take someone's credentials into account before blindly trusting everything offered as advice from that person. With that being said, I also believe when someone truly approaches life from a place of love and charity ... good comes from that. So it's up to each of us to read, ponder, and decide what truths can be found in any book.
One of the most profound concepts I read in this book was "An Upside to Disappointment." Kahn explains, "From the soul's perspective ... the role of disappointment is to liberate our consciousness from the dream of expectation, so we can remain open to the fate of life's infinite possibilities" (page 45).
Huh. Disappointment liberates us from expectations. That blew my mind. Or ... it opened my mind.
Everything is Here to Help You by Matt Kahn made me stop and consider ideas in a new way. While I didn't agree with every idea presented, I was moved by many.
In some spots, the language was a challenge for me to follow. For example, "When guided by the negative reinforcement of our ego, goals remain positive, while our focus tends to obsessively scan for any shred of inner discord" (page 4).
Sometimes, with books like this, I need to read it more than once to gain the most benefit from it.
If you enjoy books about self-love, energy fields, and evolving your spirit, Everything is Here to Help You by Matt Kahn is a book to check out.
[I received a free copy of this book from FSB Associates, which did not influence my review.]
Честно казано, мисля, че в света има нужда само от една подобна книга и всички други са маркетингов опит за печалба. Поредната книга, която може да се сведе в идеята си до една статия.
dnf!! This book had a lot of fancy words but did not get to ANY point at all! I seriously felt like I was joining a cult reading this. I’ve read so many spirituality books, and this is truly terrible. I could see the author trying to make some points, but he covered it up with all the wishy washy fancy cultish writing that I truly felt like I was going insane! Please dude write a normal sentence.
The title is the only good thing about this, extremely disappointed. There are so many other good spirituality books out there, don’t give in to this cultish WOKE writing.
The best part of this book is the title. I highly recommend that you read the title: Everything is Here to Help You and then just ponder on that. It’s a deep thought and totally worth the read.
However the rest of the book is terrible. It is long, dry, and without practical takeaways. It sounds smart but only because it doesn’t make logical sense. The author uses very specific vocabulary that reminds me of cult vocabulary (not in a bad way) so the average reader isn’t going to understand his meaning. And he doesn’t define his terms clearly. I felt like I was reading some SciFi or Scientology book. Just use words that common people use or define your language for us.
I couldn’t finish. I made it like a quarter of the way through. But time is scarce and there are sooo many good books to read. Don’t waste your time with this one.
The second part of this book was better than the first. I gave a two star rating because all the acronyms were distracting and felt forced. I think the book would have been better if the author had just dropped these and focused on the core message.
I typically like this type of spiritual book, but the style of the author was definitely not for me. Overly verbose, tried to turn everything into an acronym, and overall felt very heavy handed.
Although I didn't really enjoy reading this book, and I skimmed and skipped chapter 4 on Balancing the Masculine and Feminine, and skipped the Clearings and Activations chapters, I did get a lot out of reading this book. The author explains our purpose on this earth and how everything is here to help us in our spiritual evolution. He teaches us how to view our experiences and circumstances from a soul perspective instead of an ego-perspective, and how we can perceive what might seem to be negatives as gifts here to help us on our journey.
To the author, it's all for a greater purpose, to help shift the collective consciousness. To me, well, I'm not that evolved. But I can appreciate and I am willing to adopt the attitude of looking at life through the lens of the soul perspective. Having chosen the ego perspective for so long, the soul perspective just seems like a better and ultimately happier and fulfilling way.
An absolute gold mine of rapid emotional and spiritual healing, spiritual insight, and teachings on inner work, relationships, the true nature of ego [predator and victim], overthinking, internal conflict, and world shifting perspectives to 'soul'.
the author and his people are followers of the UFO cult / 5th Dimension Ascension cult narratives (though after research I do not believe they are associated with these groups, and I have come to find that Matt's material, aside from whoever taught him in the past, comes directly from his intuition)
Regardless of how entirely on the mark his beliefs are, Matt has been gifted with the ability to see a deeper perspective and reality. This information is far, far too valuable to pass up.
Matt Kahn redefines the spiritual path for the modern-day seeker, and offers original, innovative ways to resolve fear, unravel judgments, and learn how to view life from a clear, expanded perspective. .“No matter how anything seems or appears—everything is here to help you become the one you were born to be.” . . It didn't move me as his earlier book 'Whatever Arises, Love That' and thus a consideration that maybe the few takeouts i had are all i needed now, and thus a another read through will be inevitable; for there are lots of heavy deep material.
While listening to this book I kept having the feeling I’ve heard all of this before. I figured out where I’ve heard all of this before. This is A Course in Miracles.
There was some new information here I've never heard before like Ego survives death, This is new and I haven't heard it before. Other things I hadn't heard before: Ego can access past-lives to use against us for control, Ego must go to allow us to access heaven. All humans are Angels in training and empaths are not telepaths.
I had more expectations from this book. I read it after one of my finest reading - "Inner Engineering by Sadhguru", so was expecting something more or similar to this. Author has created multiple sections in the book showing how everything in the world is to help you. Only idea I got from this book, which I already have, is to be positive and think that whatever happens is for a good reason. Downside is the cryptic language which makes it difficult to grasp.
This book was a game changer for me. It opened my eyes to see the positive in everything that happens or comes my way, even if it doesn't feel good or seem helpful. Somewhere, in every single thing that happens, there is a lesson to be learned to help us grow.
I got this in the beKind by Ellen box. I wish I could give it 0 stars. My eyes have never rolled back in my head as often as they did through this book. I could not finish it. I am not an angelic being manifesting in physical form. New agey hogwash.
I enjoyed this book, although I didn't understand some parts of it. I appreciated the overall message of this book which to me was that even things that we see as difficulties in our lives are here to allow us to evolve spiritually.
A delightful read by Matt Kahn following on from his earlier book. There is so much wisdom, light and love contained in the book, you cannot help to resonate with it.
Somehow it would feel unfitting to gush about how utterly amazing this book is, even though that's what I usually do. Don't get me wrong, though, this book IS amazing, but in a subtle way, in a heavy way, in a way that kind of changes my definition of amazing. I usually speed through books, but stopped myself after single paragraphs when reading this. It's wonderful, though. Whether or not the title holds true, this book is certainly here to help you!
Iam so grateful that I happened to come across this book through reference. Initially, it wasn't easy to read. I kept dozing off. But iam so grateful that I continued till I found myself desperate to finish the book. I can say Iam benefitted by this book in a huge way that I probably cannot explain. If one has questions about spirituality or if one is going through unexplainable lows in life or if one is wondering how to make peace with oneself & others in their incomprehensible situation, then, this is a good book to go for.... Good Luck....God bless you
