Brooklyn Summers doesn't belong in the mob world, but she's all tangled up in it anyway. Sharing a daughter with one of the most notorious criminals on the East Coast isn't easy, but she's doing everything she can to protect her child and put distance between her and her ex.
Maverick and Gunner make up the K-9 team for Assurance Security. After their abysmal performance trying to rescue their last target, they have a lot to make up for. When they're assigned to watch Brooklyn and help get her and her daughter out of New York safely, sparks fly.
Things get complicated when Brooklyn's ex sinks low enough to try to remove her from the equation completely because he plans to get married. Add in a mercenary who swaps sides, and Brooklyn and her guys might just have a fighting chance.
Then again, a whole lot of people have gone up against the Barretts and failed. Will the three men who've inserted themselves into Brooklyn's life be enough to keep her and her daughter safe?
Full info will be listed in the Author's Note. Three of a Kind is an interconnected standalone with no cliffhanger.
Jillian West knows how to write an OV!! She nails it every time and the story just sucks you in! I think Noble was my favorite but I love all 3 of Brooklyn’s alphas. Libby was the life of this story and I loved how much they each loved her!! Brooklyn being pregnant through the whole book is just my favorite! I just couldn’t stop reading and I can’t wait for Jillian’s next book as always!!
• Single mom • Adorable 3 year old • The baby's not theirs • Contract killer • Best friends • Scent matches • A touch starved Omega • A soul match
I really savored this book! 🤣 I wanted so badly to just devour it in one sitting. But I didn't want it to be over. I loved this series so much. But I have to say this one was my favorite. There was just something about the sweetest of it. It had me wanting more and more.
Brooklyn is a single mom of a three year old and one on the way. She's trying very hard to make the best of the situation the universe landed her in. Tied to an abusive alpha because of the daughter they share, Brooklyn does her best to limit the time she spends with him. Unfortunately, her omega instincts take over every once in a while, and she finds herself pregnant with his other child. Thankfully, she has 3 VERY protective alphas watching out for her willing to do anything to keep her and her kids safe.
I didn't think I could love any of the alphas more than I loved how playful Maverick is. But Noble really stole the show in this book! The way he slides right into taking care of Brooklyn and Libby! I adored this man! And went feral every time he called her Mama! He even included Libby in the courting gifts!
“I’m into you,” he says. “There’s a gift in that bag for Libby. It’s my first courting gift for the shortstack.”
The best way to a single moms heart is through her kids. Treat them like they're precious to you and were putty in your hands!
I just loved how playful Maverick was. He was our golden retriever MMC. Which is fitting given how connected get was to his dog! I loved seeing more of Nova and Haze!!!
“You win over the kid, and I’ll work on the mom. We can do this. What woman can resist a man who loves his dog? None. I’ve clearly proven that I’m capable of caring for another living being. That should instantly win me points.”
Gunner certainly was the grumpy one of the bunch. Which didn't bother me any! I'm a sucker for a grumpy MMC. They all balanced each other out so well!
I always love Jillian's description of a soul match!!! How electric and rare they are. The way she describes the way both characters feel always always has me swooning!
I loved seeing this series wrap up! But I hated to see it end at the same time. I've fallen in love with these packs!!!
Oh, and Jillian, I see you with the backward hat imagines you kept giving us of Mav! 😍🤌
“I hope you look at me like that for the rest of our lives.”
I was so excited to hear that we were getting a book for Maverick and Gunner! I've loved them from the moment they were introduced in the series and wanted to get to know them better. They're such a great pair and adding Noble into the mix was just so natural and really balanced them out.
I loved Brooklyn and ADORED Libby (also a big fan of not overdoing the baby talk being typed out, Jillian West you're the best 🫶🏻) Her speech actually felt realistic for a three year old and that is so rare and such a pet peeve of mine when reading. I loved Brooklyn and Libby's bond and how Libby was never just an afterthought, she was always a priority for everyone. She had the guys and the dogs wrapped around her little finger in no time.
Which brings me to Nova and Haze 🥺 I am not an animal person but oh my goodness do I love those two angels. They had so much personality and the way Gunner and Mav trusted them and loved them was just so cute.
Ugh. This was all so sweet and cute and I loved every second of it, I just wish we got more of the domesticity. So much was up in the air for the majority of the story, I was really looking forward to reading about them getting settled in.
I can't complain about the ending though because everyone got what they deserved. Good and bad. It did feel a little chaotic (I had trouble placing some of the characters that I felt like I was supposed to know, but didn't), but overall it was a great time. I can always rely on Jillian West to give me something sweet and fun (with a side of stress and spice) that I will devour.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ "You’re mine now, gorgeous. You get that, right? If you tried to run, I would hunt you down and bite your ass so fast, you’d have no chance to escape."
Jillian has once again delivered a feel-good Omegaverse full of sweet, all-in MMCs willing to burn the world down to protect their Omega. In this case, it also included her adorable three-year-old toddler and unborn baby.
She is my go-to for low-angst, low-anxiety reads. I have fallen in love with all her characters.
These alphas are some of her sweetest. Even though they are morally grey, they are dangerous for the right reasons. There is no question how much they love Brooklyn and Libby and how far they are willing to go to remove all threats to their happiness.
As in many omegaverse romances, this is fast-burn and spicy. When you know, you know, and the alpha/omega impulses speed things up tremendously. There are spicy MF and group scenes with all the omegaverse goodness of knots, slick, and heats (in this case, many mini-heats), and some alphas who discover they have a pregnancy and breeding kink.
While this is a standalone, reading the Assurance Security series in order enhances the reading experience.
This is another win from Jillian, and I cannot recommend it enough.
Every time I’m looking for an omegaverse book to read I know I can’t count on Jillian West to deliver something great. I just love everything she writes. Maverick, Gunner and Noble are so good to Brooklyn and Libby. I loved how protective they were of both girls right from the beginning. This one has it all, single mom, pregnant omega, protective alphas, guard dogs, courting, second chance, tons of spice and I ate it up.
I wish readers would stop asking for early bonding. It ruins all the mystery of will they/won't they. I almost always give Ms. West 4 or 5 stars and I still love her writing but the early on bonding made it hard to feel like the stakes were high. I know she tried to offset it by doing a lot of courting and emotional bonding after but I'd rather see it before they bond. 🤷🏽♀️
Honestly I dont know why I keep getting shocked every time I read another Jillian West book and i love it even more than the last ones.
I dont even *like* dogs, but this super sweet/sexy/amazing duo of K-9 handlers is making me consider my stance. 😂
Our poor Omega is trapped … her ex is a huge part of the Mafia.. she has their toddler daughter and unbeknownst to him, is pregnant with his second child.
She needs to get out before he does something bad to her. A few weeks before she found out she was pregnant (hes super abusive/terrible) she meets our duo of k9 handlers out at a bar.. they instantly fall for her, but she runs away in the middle of the evening because she doesnt want to bring the wrath of her now-ex on top of them. They spend MONTHS doing everything they can to find her.
Then they get a call that they need to get this asshole’s ex out of the city because people are threatening her and her daughter’s life and LO AND BEHOLD its the amazing Omega they met months ago who left them!
We also get Noble who is a mercenary for hire who has been watching out for our FMC and her daughter because he was originally contacted by her ex to kill them both. He wont let anything happen to them, so he rented a place super close to theirs and has integrated himself into their lives and fallen for her… hes a total freaking cinnamon roll.
I love hurt/comfort and damsel in distress and nobody does it better than Jillian West. Also the spice in this book, as per usual, was *delicious*! I cant wait to see what she comes up with next!!!!
3.5 stars. I've never been disappointed by a Jillian West book, and this series has been fun to work though. It's been a while (a lot of books at least) since I read the last one, so I had to take a second to remember the side characters that popped up from previous books, but it was fun seeing them.
This one was a straightforward single parent + secret baby scent match OMV. I've been waiting for Gunner and Maverick and their dogs to get their story and I'm happy that even the dogs were given a firm place in this family. Noble was great, and probably my favorite. The daughter was cute. Brooklyn, the FMC, was a little...boring (or at least underwhelming as a character) for what she had and still was going through, but I still enjoyed the story anyway.
This is the second book I've read this week where the author gave a pregnant omega heat-like symptoms in order to give us a heat while the FMC was pregnant throughout the entire book. I still think it's so odd to do, but at least it wasn't a full blown heat (just short bursts here and there) in this book, so I think the only reason it stands out to me right now is because it happened in the last book I read too.
There's technically OM drama, but it's an ex, and we hardly see him. The majority is just fear of what could happen if he finds out/succeeds in his plan.
This is pretty par for the course OMV, especially for this series, but the characters are great to each other, and there's no unncessary third act breakup. Overall it was a sweet read, and a good palate refresher.
Another addition to the Assurance security series and we get to see more of Maverick and Gunners story, our doggy duo.
This book is filled with hurt/comfort and even though the pack bond quickly, they do plenty of Courting of not just our leading lady Brooklyn but her cute little girl Libby.
There is no lack of steam as they learn to navigate the new relationship with the addition of Noble our new bad boy and as always we have our HEA.. and sneak peaks into other possible stories?
This is a cute Omegaverse themed novel with some dark topics thrown into the story.
Brooklyn has recently left her ex taking their three year old daughter with her. She doesn’t realize it yet but she is pregnant with baby number two when she meets her guys.
Noble is a neighbor that has been watching and waiting for her to notice him for a while. Maverick and Gunner meet her out at a bar/club and instantly know that she belongs to them.
Together, the four of them come together to form a very hot and spicy pack! 🥵
Some parts of the story were confusing, there are a lot of side characters in this book. I have not read the other books so I would recommend starting with those first so you aren’t as confused as I was towards the end of this book.
One thing I love about Jillian West…no cheating, no OW/OM drama, and no third act breakup!
Brooklyn Summers is dealing with a nightmare of an ex,a crime boss, especially since they share a daughter, and unbeknownst to him, she’s pregnant again. Maverick and Gunner are a K-9 unit who met her one night, and immediately were attached hardcore to the sweet omega. Noble is a hitman who was originally approached as to take out Brooklyn; but also fell smitten with the omega and committed some *slight romantic stalking*.
As always with Jillian West’s books, the mmcs were sweet, crazy over the fmc, and hella dirty talking. It was fun to see the crossovers from characters in the previous series, especially since Maverick and Gunner were side characters in other books. I think my favorite part was that the mmcs, while courting Brooklyn, also came to adore, love, and give gifts to her daughter, Libby.
It was a cute book, and super fun to read. I’m excited to read whatever comes next in this universe.
I really loved Brooklyn and her little girl. This romance is still sweet and fluffy but has an element of danger with Brooklyn’s ex.
The MMCs are wild for Brooklyn! Gunner and Maverick already have an established friendship/pack. Gunner is quiet and serious while Mav is a golden retriever type. Noble is another growly Alpha with some light stalking behavior 😏
I love how the alphas take care of Brooklyn, her little girl, and the unexpected pregnancy. I am not a huge fan of pregnant by another man trope (the crazy ex in this case) but Jillian always does such a great job with it.
This book has plenty of spice, sweet moments and action! Another great addition to the Assurance Security series. This can be read as a standalone but you won’t want to miss out on the others!!
Omegaverse Preg during entire book-she has baby at epilogue. No further preg from her mates. Which is a bummer to me.
Why have a full on breeding kink and never finish it? Ik some folks hate preg in books but she was preg the entire book so🤷🏻♀️what’s one or four more?
Epilogue starts way way too soon. Finish the book. Then give us a glimpse into their futures. The delivery should have been a part of the final chapters. Wrap that up. Then give us a five or ten years down the road w babies from each of her man meat snacks. I felt like the epilogue for me wasn’t satisfying. She did the same thing in another book or two. Started it too soon and it all felt rushed.

A pregnant omega mother (she has a toddler aged daughter) hides her pregnancy from the father. He's a bad guy, the head of some organised crime family, and she's afraid he'll take the baby away from her if its a boy (a real heir, because daughters don't count). She meets some dudes that are a scent match in a bar one night and then runs away, because her life is too dangerous, but doesn't know that these guys are mercenaries. And then her hot neighbour is always around and he's so good with her daughter...so, yeah. Smutty times all around with some protective alphas and danger and guns and blood and murdery fun. Hooray.
It's another phenomenal book in this series. I loved watching Brooklyn build her pack. Nova, Haze, and Libby were my fav part of this story. I love how well trained they are and immediately protected Libby and Brooklyn. The guys are so perfect and accepting loved them. Insert my boo Ranger and book complete for me.
Three of a Kind, book 4 of the Assurance Security series by Jillian West @jillianwestauthor. First, I am a fan of Jillian’s & this book was no different!
This was a great book about Brooklyn, Noble, Gunner & Maverick! Tropes: Omegaverse, RH, no MM, assassin, mercenaries, soul match, scent match, single mom & pregnancy.
This book was a wild ride, but it was great from start to finish. I loved Brooklyn’s character, and Jillian may have made me love someone more than Ranger - Noble! The way he called her Mama made me swooooon. Libby was adorable, and I was so happy to see the appearance of other Assurance characters. Thanks for another wonderful book!
If you squint there's almost a coherent plot. Despite the off the wall leaps and jumps you have to make to think this could be realistic I liked it for what it was. I also don't come to OV for heavy thinking so YMMV.
this book was quick and easy to read which I loved. The plot was good and it kept me interested! Libby is so cute and I love her. All of them I love. I definitely LOVED how many epilogues there were since I was really excited to read about that from the beginning.
This series is the perfect pick me up when I want some sweetness and comfort. Three of a Kind has a perfect balance of plot, relationship building, romance, and steam. This author is a one-click guarantee of a perfectly satisfying read.
Oh my goodness. If you liked the others in this series, then you're going to devour this one. It's definitely the perfect finale that we needed.
I absolutely loved Brooklyn. She had so many reasons to be beaten down, give up on love, and just say screw it, but she never did. When the guys barreled their way into her life, while she did have her doubts, she was open to the love that they could give her and Libby. She's a do what you gotta do kind of girl who takes care of her daughter and we love that.
Oh, the guys. They were amazing. I always end up having a favorite among the men, and it was Noble, hands down. He was obsessed with her from the get-go in a weird but sweet stalkery kind of way. Maverick and Gunner were okay for me. I didn't feel overly connected to them, but that's just a me thing. They definitely gave some good spice though 👀
This was sweet, emotional, and fast-paced enough to keep you invested but not enough to make it feel rushed. It really is a perfect ending to the series.
This was another great story in the Assurance Security Omegaverse series. I love all of the characters that we had been introduced to throughout this story, and I was excited for Maverick and Gunner to find their omega.
Brooklyn is an omega trying to separate herself from her ex-boyfriend, who is part of a crime family in NY. Maverick and Gunner are tasked with helping her get out of a bad situation. I absolutely loved these two men, and their dogs. I always like when characters from earlier books find their HEA, and these guys deserve their happiness with Brooklyn. Noble (like Locke in the last book), was another great addition to this pack, and he definitely keeps things interesting. This was a great Omegaverse book!
"You're so beautiful" is probably in there a hundred times. No joke, these guys talked about how beautiful she is with the baby bump every time they talked to her. Nice to know there is more to her than just breeding. No mention of being smart, caring, loving, brave...nope, just beautiful. One of the guys only calls her "mama" or "little mama," never her name.
I actually had to take a break for a day because I got bored. The FMC does NOTHING. Her life is in danger, her daughter's life is in danger, her unborn child's life is in danger, and she just meanders around, nearly getting herself and her kid killed twice because she wasn't paying attention. Good thing the guys were there, otherwise she'd be roadkill.
There is a LOT of sex in here. There's also DVP during her seventh month of pregnancy, which seems really f*cking unsafe. Then again, she acted like she wasn't pregnant and didn't care about it at all. No nesting, no buying clothes, barely going to the doctor, wearing herself out, etc.
I wouldn't call this fluff, since it has darker elements and the guys are the only ones being sweet. There's murder, assault, attempted murder, all sorts of things. However, there is a ton of sex, so it's definitely smut.
The names in this book are ridiculous. Liberty Judge Gunner Maverick Noble Bless Ranger I had a hard time taking any of it seriously because I kept imagining a hardcore country band. It's like how Fourth Wing came out and everyone named their characters Zander or Xander and had to add an X or Z in it to make it interesting. You can let the story be interesting on its own without making the names weird. Are there people with the above-mentioned names? Yes, but what are the chances all these characters met and all of their parents happened to name their kids the same way? Pretty rare, I would think.
The Plot Brooklyn is trying to hide her pregnancy from her abusive ex by wearing big clothes. She meets three of her fated mates who happen to work for a cousin who wants to protect her since she clearly can't protect herself. She relies on said guys for everything and does nothing herself. Bad guy gets his
The Romance For two of the guys, it was insta-lust, especially when they scented her. The other guy got to know her over time, but you don't get to read it. The lust was quick, and there's lots of sex pretty quickly. There's not a whole lot of romance. The kid, Liberty, is taken care of by the guys, and they learn to be dads in a believable way.
Jillian is a QUEEN when it comes of omegaverse storytelling 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 So this can definitely be read as a standalone (cause Jillian is brilliant like that 😉), but because of the background arc storyline in this series, you’ll miss out on some of the depth & details of some parts if you don’t start at Not Ready (IMO). It’s just a suggestion obviously, but if you love Omegaverse with a bit of danger & action thrown in (and pregnancy isn’t a trigger for you) then you’ll love each of the books in this series so much.
I absolutely adored Brooklyn (and little Abby too 😍). She was one of the sweetest FMCs ever, yet she had such a core of steel, even if she didn’t truly realize that about herself. Watching her slowly see how real men treat their woman with love & respect…well, it was so sweet, I’m surprised it didn’t start raining sugar from the heavens 👀🌨️😂 I loved it though, because it should never be a surprise when someone treats you with common decency, and seeing her come to terms with that was one of the best parts of the story. She was bound to come to that realization at some point though, because the guys had her emotions all over the place with how good they were with Libby (especially you Mav…you big adorable softie 😍😘).
But Jillian, Ughhh, woman…my heart was already so conflicted when Ranger started giving Murphy competition for my favorite alpha, and then you had to go & introduce my heart to Noble 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ WHYYY girl…just WHY 😂😂😂 But keep doing it, cause my heart can handle all the love…whychoose 😉😝 So yeah, if you love either of those guys, you’re probably gonna go goo-goo over Noble (he also gave off strong Grady vibes because of his work, if you read Queen of Spades you’ll understand 😉). Oh & y’all , our boy looooooves surprises…isn’t that right Noble 👀😏 Y’all will know when you get to the part I’m talking about 😂 Although there were a few other surprises in the story, especially towards the end, and I was actually not expecting those intriguing twists 👏🏻👏🏻 I can’t wait to get the novella later this year for Lennox (Brooklyn’s sister), but I’m also hoping for something about Bless & Stasia’s development that happened later in the story 😉🤞🏼 As usual, Jillian delivered a sweet Omegaverse story to us, with all the feels, but with the Assurance Security addition, she also gave us a bit of a darker edge. How she balanced all of that out so beautifully is beyond me, but she can keep doing it as far as I’m concerned 😉
This book is a great addition to the Assurance Security series! After Maverick and Gunner fumble their last assignment (that included their boss Ranger’s omega) they are sent to protect Brooklyn (an unbonded omega) and her toddler Libby from Brooklyn’s ex, a major player in a notorious New York crime family. Little do they know, Brooklyn is a woman who they connected with a year ago and have been looking for ever since she ran away from them because she didn’t want them caught up in the danger that follows her.
The three men in this book - Maverick, Gunner, and Noble are all great. Morally grey, like the rest of the series, but they love Brooklyn, Libby, and the baby fiercely from day one. One of the rules in this omegaverse is that the omega makes the pack, instead of the packs already being formed at the start of the story. I love that although Noble is more comfortable on his own and doesn’t particularly want a pack, he loves Brooklyn so much and respects what her omega needs. He puts his feelings aside and works through his discomfort so their family can be what it needs to be. Noble is a mercenary who was originally hired by Brooklyn’s ex to take her and Libby out, but as soon as he found out a woman and child were involved he said no. Now, he works overtime to make sure that they are safe.
I love that the guys (and the dogs) love Libby like their own from the time they meet her, and Libby and the new baby are never treated like complications/a problem, there was no question at all that they are family. They give her courting gifts as well and do everything they can to show Brooklyn that she isn’t alone anymore. Though there are some darker themes, this book is overall a very sweet story.
✔️omegaverse ✔️MFMM ✔️single mom ✔️pregnant omega ✔️nesting, knotting, mini heats (she’s pregnant already when the book starts) ✔️no 3rd act breakup
