I was nineteen years old when I was beaten to a pulp and left for dead. Imprisoned for a murder I didn’t commit, I had to struggle to survive and fight for my freedom.
Unleashed on the world, I carried three gifts that would change the course of my life; a rock hard grudge, a taste for blood and some super-serum hot sauce coursing through my veins. I wanted vengeance and I’d go through hell to get it.
Vampires, flesh melting skin stealers, Neo-Nazi prison gangs, an old ass fortune teller, a Texan gunslinger, a wheelchair-bound werewolf, two haunted revolvers... And one hell of a road trip for revenge!
I don't know what you think you're expecting from a novel with a title like this but, I assure you, it's much more than just an homage to those beloved b movies of the past.
I was actually surprised at how well thought out this novel was. Considering that it has a lot of supernatural creatures in it you might think it's just a cheesy over the top satire. But you'd be wrong.
While it DOES have that B-Movie vibe to it, it's also very gritty and noir-ish. With a main character who is a victim as well as the ultimate anti hero, he's written in such a way that you immediately sympathise and get behind his quest for revenge.
This is the first book and I don't know if there's just one sequel or more coming but this one establishes the world, the characters, and the overall ambience of the narrative.
And what a great narrative it is! Vampires, werewolves, demons, revenge, lost love, and numerous other creatures are all present here. There are some spectacular set pieces in here which demonstrates the authors ability to write awesome action sequences as well as straight up terrifying scenes that will have your heart pumping and make your flesh crawl.
The good guys are great and the bad guys are villainous and that's the way it should be in a book like this. Not all of them will live to be in the sequel and some of these deaths are a real gut punch but it works for this style of book.
This novel was way more than I expected and I think you'll love it too. So I highly recommend it.
I received an ARC of this book with no consideration. This review is voluntary and is my own personal opinion.
This was my first time reading this author and I will never forget this book. It will be forever imprinted in my brain. It was that good! B-Movie Bloodbath has just officially sercured its spot at my top read of the year (we will see if another beats it but I doubt it but hey that's what I said several other books ago too- to be continued). I went into this book completely blind and came out completely awestruck on how well thought-out out this book was. The author did a fantastic job writing this story. You have a new fan. Ugh I could seriously rave on about this book forever and ever but lets just get into it already shall we?
B-Movie Bloodbath doesn't just pay b movies homage. This story is jam packed with action and the supernatural, which I was not expecting. The supernatural element was done extremely well too. All of the creatures were fleshed out perfectly and really descriptive with their looks. The plot was absolutely phenomenal and the dialogue was perfect. I LOVED Night's character immensely along with a few others. The good characters were so good and the bad characters were absolute scum of the earth. There wasn't a detail missed in this story at all and flawlessly executed!
B-Movie Bloodbath follows Night. He loses his soul mate in the most horrendous way possible. He gets blamed for her death too because no one would believe his story about the men or shall I say creatures responsible. He's serving his sentence in prison and meets some friends along the way and they begin training together to help the warden take out the scum in the prison in exchange for lesser sentences. Things go wrong with one of their targets and Night's life changes drastically. From here on out you get to experience Night go through the worst of the worst and eventually hunt down the beings that took his girlfriend away from him forever.
I'm on my way to read the sequel now and can't wait to see how this story continues. I'm telling you right now that this book will make you want to stop life and just focus on reading this book and nothing else. Here is your official warning.
B-Movie Bloodbath reads like a retro action/thriller flick with horror elements. The characters and events are dramatic as a rule, which I found very fun. I'd say it would make a great B-Movie, but a lot of this book's charm is that it IS a book but feels like a cheesy movie. That being said, this book tackles some hard subjects surprisingly well. Alongside the B-Movie antics, characters navigate real traumas and relatable existential questions.
I especially loved that this book has a soundtrack (hosted on Spotify here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0s8... ). If you're like me and struggle to read while listening to music with lyrics, this is how I approached it: at each track prompt, I played the song once to set the mood, then paused the playlist and continued reading. I'm curious about how this would work with an audiobook format. The songs genuinely did enhance my reading experience, giving a double-hit of nostalgia and cinematic ambiance.
While messy violence comes with the territory, content warning for recurrent threatened or implied SA.
Thank you for the chance to read the ARC for free. I'm leaving this review of my own accord.
Lately, I have taken to not reading the blurbs on the back of books because I've had a few terribly disappointing experiences where the blurb led me astray. Since I've stopped doing that my reading experience has grown exponentially, and I haven't been nearly as disappointed as when I would read the blurb of the book before I started reading it. So, before reading this book, I did the same, and well, that was a mistake.
Reading the title of this book would give anyone one of two plot pictures in their mind. They either foresee reading a book about a character's love for b-movies getting them into some kind of bloody trouble, or they picture a book that has a gory story a la b-movies. I, unfortunately for my reading experience, thought the book would be like the former when it turned out to be like the later. The plot of the book was an actual b-movie bloodbath. It had almost zilch to do with movies. I want to blame myself for not reading the blurb, but I don't think I am one hundred percent at fault because the cover of the book shows a movie theater. Ok! I was had!
Anyhoo, let’s review the actual book. First off, you can definitely tell this is a debut novel because it has some of the pitfalls that most debut novels have. The plot is a leaf on the wind, the dialogue is a little stiff and maybe a slight bit overly open and conversational, and the character development is pretty much non-existent.
Let’s explain starting with the plot. The plot of the book is something and somewhere. It’s very linear where point A leads to point B then to point C. However, I am not so sure that works in this book's favor. There were some scenes that felt like they lasted forever and others that felt like they were too short and rushed. For example, there is a part of the main character’s life that is spent in prison. We spend so many chapters with him while he was in prison. I understand that this was a part in his life that changed him, as prison changes most inmates. But, the problem with this is that we spent so much time in prison that we didn’t get to see how his changes in prison affected him outside of prison. We spent too much time on the changing not enough on the changes, if that makes sense.
Isaac Nightingale, or Night as he liked to be called, is a young man with a natural born chip on his shoulder who’s ready to fight anyone, anywhere, any time of the mother freakin’ day. When he is the victim of a tragedy and wrongfully imprisoned, he goes to jail, learns how to kick booty better, gets fracked up like the Toxic Avenger, then gets out of prison and plots revenge. Sounds like a b-movie doesn’t? Hahaha.
I liked Night as a character for the first few chapters, but then his lack of character development began to grate my gears. I needed him to grow up just the tiniest of bits and take a little of his life seriously, be a little less reckless and a little more Snake Plissken kicking vampire bum and taking names.
Eventually in the book, we are introduced to Tex who becomes like a mentor to Isaac. Tex might be my favorite side character introduced in the entire book. He seems to be the character with the most damage to unpack while simultaneously knowing his place in the world. He’s also humble, has his head on straight, and is down to earth enough to admit when he’s made a mistake. In short, he’s the character I hope Night will one day become, when he grows up.
Even though this book had a lot of problems, I feel like the author has a good foundation and made a great effort in writing this book. The characters and the story are definitely unique. I think he could just benefit by continuing to write and learn to develop his character and plot a little bit more.
With that said, I still enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a b-movie or action movie.
3.5/5
I received an advanced copy of this book. I leave this review voluntarily.
So I read this within a week of receiving my copy and can't recommend it enough!! The built in sound track is an amazing concept but my only problem is it can break the flow of reading to search for the track.
As a first novel by the author it's a very good, it wears it's inspiration on its sleeve and is unashamedly cheesy B Movie beauty!!
While I won't spoil it in a review I guarantee if you're a horror fan you'll enjoy this.
My only critique is the use of British slang so much for an 80s American Midwest horror story but that does get addressed.
From the moment you're introduced to Night the title character you're drawn into his life and enjoy his misery.
Please support smaller authors so sequels can happen as I'm eagerly awaiting this sequel as well!!
I'm not sure what I expected when I took this book on. Considering the title I figured something along the lines of a Hammer Studios horror film. I was utterly delighted to find that it was so so much more than that. What a fun read this was. All the monsters are here, the demons, vampires, werewolves and things unnamed(but room for so much more). I was even more delighted to see that this is book one! A sequel! I can't wait. What a delicious way to spend a few hours. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion of the tale.
This novel is a high dose of supernatural adrenaline injected straight to the brain!
I had a lot of fun with this book. Imagine if Blade, From Dusk Till Dawn, and 80s/90s Saturday morning cartoons were whipped into a weird narrative smoothie. It would be this story. All the paranormal monster action and all of the ridiculous absurdity that comes with cartoon violence.
I was on the hook pretty quickly. The main character, Night, is fun and you see some great character growth throughout as he watches his girlfriend die only to see him be blamed for it.
So much happens in this book! While I loved it overall and had a blast with it, I do feel like there were some repetitious things happening in the second half of the book. It started to feel like the story wasn’t really moving because the action was constant and Night bounced from one mentor to the next.
Thankfully, the story does come around and close nicely, which I was concerned it might not. I was satisfied with the ending but would’ve liked that last encounter to have had a little more build up. There were some other things going on in the busy world building that never saw a payoff so I can only hope those things are addressed in the sequel. This high octane story is all over the place at times.
If you’re looking for a fast-paced novel that jams scary monsters, humor, nostalgia, and a cool playlist driven to parallel the story, then this one might be up your alley!
This does feel like a B-movie but has so much more depth to it. It’s violent, gory, and gritty. It’s narrated by Night and it’s really like being told a story by a snarky friend. He’s sarcastic and gets himself into so many messes because of his mouth. I couldn’t help but love him though and rooted for him the whole time.
The cover looks like an old VHS tape with a “cult classic” sticker. That’s fitting because if this were a movie I can see it being a cult classic. This played out like a movie in my mind. The characters all came to life in my mind as well as all of the scenes. They were so vivid to me! It was action packed with so many wild scenes.
Oh! And as an added bonus, there’s a QR code to a soundtrack because every chapter was inspired by a different song. It was so cool to hear the inspiration behind each chapter.
I knew I had to have book two well before I reached the end but the ending was epic! It set everything up perfectly for book two. I can’t wait for more adventures and I hope some of the other characters come back in Neon Nightmares! Highly recommend! *check triggers if you have any*
After getting the shit kicked out of him and accused of a murder that he didn't commit, Night had to fight to survive and his freedom. He wants revenge and he's going to get it with some super serum hot sauce. Battling vampires, flesh eating monsters, Neo-Nazi prisoners, two haunted revolvers and so much more. It's about to be a wild revengeful ride!
The first thing I noticed was a note from the author. How each chapter was inspired by a song which I absolutely love. I knew after reading the first few pages that this book was going to be wild, in the best way possible. The story started off with the cute couple hanging out and going on dates, which was nice but I was waiting for the good stuff. And then it happened. All I wanted was for Night to get some revenge after what happened to him and Suzie. The scene with Night and David was brutal but also justified (you'll see once you get to that part.) This is when the story starts to really flow and got me excited to continue reading. The fortune teller was my favorite person Night met. Her trying to always make some money and her one liners were great and hilarious. I also enjoyed the nice trajectory of the book leading from Night hitting rock bottom in prison to getting out and hunting the two brutes that killed Suzie.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was action packed with lots of humor to keep you engaged. Plus who doesn't love a good revenge story?
B-Movie blood bath is out October 13, 2023. Thank you to Isaac Nightingale for gifting me the ARC for this book.
B-Movie Bloodbath is everything that the title suggests - it’s a wild, outrageous ride; full of vampires, flesh melting monsters, prison gangs, a Texan gunslinger, good old fashioned shoot outs, plenty of blood, banter and hot sauce!
One of my favourite things in this life is B-movie horror - it’s often low budget, wildly addictive, entertaining and over the top, that’s exactly how I found this novel and I really loved it. Reading through, I genuinely had no idea what was coming next; the action is none stop.
The action was my favourite part - I love revenge! B-movie Bloodbath is the ultimate revenge story; Night is 19 years old when he witnesses monsters brutally murder his sweetheart - a murder that he’s framed for and sent to prison. Night spends a long time plotting his revenge and once he finds his freedom - he unleashes himself upon the monster world.
There was one hell of an epic scene towards the end of the book, which I read before going to bed - a few hours I woke up sweating, thinking that vampires had broken into my house; my adrenaline was pumping! I messaged the author to thank him for my sleepless night.
This is such a fantastic debut novel. I cannot wait to see what Liam has for us next.
This was probably the most fun book that I’ve read so far this year. An advanced reading copy was provided to me and I absolutely loved every second of this book. The built-in soundtrack was such a clever idea and the sound choices fit the tone of the scene that the author was trying to set perfectly.
Night’s journey continuously surprised me at every turn as while his main motivation it indeed to get revenge on the people… or are the really people… who killed his girlfriend, he often gets sidetracked and ends up being involved with many other sideplots, none of which feel stilted in the slightest.
Every time a supernatural element was introduced, I was caught off-guard in the best way possible; the creatures were simply allowed to exist in the world of the novel with barely anyone asking any questions about them and that’s exactly what made it more entertaining.
I would highly recommend picking up a copy of B-Movie Bloodbath when it does end up releasing, and I am patiently awaiting the inevitable sequel.
B-Movie Bloodbath was a lot of fun! There is plenty of violence, gore (an absolute bloodbath haha), and a solid B movie cheese. One of the really cool things about this book is that there is a soundtrack to accompany it. As you read you come upon different tracks that correspond with that section of story. This was a first for me, but something I ended up enjoying.
The story is well written with solid hero’s and absolutely vicious villains. Definitely recommend! There are trigger warnings for this book though, so please check before you read if you’re bothered by specific things.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC copy of this story and this is my honest review.
So this book starts as a basic horror story and takes a turn into a violent prison story. When our main guy is found innocent the book turns into a monster hunting horror adventure. The story ends with our main guy getting his revenge, but the ending is really quick.
This isn't what I expected from a book called B-movie Bloodbath, I thought it would be a story of a bad horror film made real. All in all this is a good book a good read for any horror fan.
I received my copy for free in exchange for my honest review.

Absolutely wonderful. Very well paced and hilarious, with extremely well written characters that feel like real people. This has everything a good book needs. A tragic story with an all star cast. Seriously worth the time invested. Night is written in a way that made him feel relatable, and Tex was also just great. The wise mentor teaching the next generation and all that. Haven't had this much fun with a book in… well a while.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Fast paced, violent and vulgar, this story is fantastic. The writing style reminded me a little of Christopher Moore but I would say the author took it even further.
I loved the idea of the playlist. I'd like to get some help to figure that out and read the book again to get the full experience.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. #Book Sirens #Bookworm #Books
I didn’t know really know what to expect when I started the book other than an a slew of maybe B-Movie horror film references.
But I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of violence, gore and just b-movie fun! This was such an enjoyable read and while it was a bit longer than I expect I flew through to it. Solid 4.5/5!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is one kick ass , brutally audacious, and good times book. Night is an awesome character that somehow comes off humble even while being a hardcore bad ass. The title is quite fitting indeed! This has the campy humor of a good 80s b-movie plus some. I cannot recommend it enough!
This booked had me hooked from page one and was an absolutely wild ride throughout. The slasher components work brilliantly - character tropes, ridiculous gore and great supernatural elements. There's also genuine heart and emotion at the core. The Playlist is so worth it too, don't skip that step!
In July 1972 Night watched Suzie, the love of his life murdered by two men who were not human. He is not believed and convicted of her murder, for eight years he learns how to fight to survive. Released pumped up with superpowers from an injection meant to kill him he goes on the hunt for the men who killed his girl.
A madness of a story that pulls you along whether you want to or not. Otherworldly creatures live amongst us, some good many bad and Night is going to take down as many of the bad ones as he can searching for the two who killed the live of his life.
Prison life is stark and brutal but he finds friends, civilian life is full of dangers but he finds friends. An underlying current of found family permeates this story but it’s the violence that is visceral here. The human monsters being just as cruel and barbaric as the creatures.
Reading like a crime noir Night is relentless in his pursuit of the men who killed Suzie and on the way he kills anyone he deems deserving of a painful death. This is blood soaked throughout and as he leans into his feral nature and releases his rage the gore pours from the pages. Impossible to put down and soaked in 70’s and 80’s nostalgia and the darkest humour, this is fabulous!
When walking home from the fair one evening, Isaac Nightingale and the love of his life are brutally attacked. Suzie is murdered, and Night is beaten within an inch of his life. To make matters worse, he is framed for her murder and has to serve time for a crime he didn't commit. Once out of prison, Night has a bone to pick with the men who ruined his life, and he is coming in hot with a vengeance!
B-Movie Bloodbath is so much more than a raunchy, swear-word riddled extreme horror novel about revenge. Yes, the cussing and excessive gore are awesome (if you're into that sort of thing), but what I didn't expect was a well-rounded adventure story, filled with highly loveable characters and tons of heart. There was an underlying vibe of hopefulness, even though Night had literally been through every horrible type of situation possible. He stays positive (while kicking ass), makes lots of quirky friends along the way, and comes out on top.
While this wasn't a typical "scary" horror novel, there were a lot of violent scenes that made me squeamish, although they did add to the plot and weren't solely for shock value. It felt like I was part of an RPG, and as Night leveled up after defeating each "boss," I felt proud of him and a sense of accomplishment. There was tons of action, and nothing felt repetitive or too drawn out. The pacing was perfect. Additionally, the author included a soundtrack to listen along to as you read, which was a very fantastic touch.
I expected to enjoy this book, but I didn't think it would exceed my expectations as much as it did! ❤️🥹 I was actually sad when I finished this one. A little birdy told me there's a sequel in the works, so I'll definitely be keeping my eye out for it!
This was a BLAST!!! From start to finish, I absolutely loved the comedic style of Nightingale’s narrative. Though I’m sure some may want the plot to move a little faster at times, I thoroughly enjoyed all the pitstops throughout the book as each scene provided a mix of violence, comedy, etc. I am excited to check out the sequel! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. And be sure to get yourself a physical copy because that cover is fantastic!
Lots of fun, great movie references and grindhouse inspired blood-soaked scenes make this a blast and one for any horror movie lover to add to their shelf.
It did feel more like vignettes strung together for a while, but it came together nicely eventually. The writing style may not have been the most accomplished, but it fit the genre so no major complaints. I would have just liked a few more monsters, but thats just me being greedy!
I'll start by saying I've created an account solely to review this book, spurred by the author's closing note. That's how much I enjoyed it. Here goes...
This thing is a rollercoaster from start to finish! It lives up to it's name and then some...
The author has managed to capture the essence of those O.T.T. 80s B movies that horror fans know and love and replicate it to great effect with a gritty, gruesome Tarantino-like style...
Upon reading what others have said, I have to agree... it's a movie in book form, through and through. Don't be fooled by the title though. While it may have all that quintessential B movie silliness, it has a blockbuster epic feel. It's big! And I mean big. The story takes places over the course of almost a decade as Night grows from a boy into a man, spattered with a string of loss and violent events. His journey takes him from prison to freedom, from one side of the states to another in search of revenge. We follow along as he turns from a victim of multiple traumas, to an all-out guns blazing anti-hero who lets nothing stand in his way.
And the curve-balls! Oh boy oh boy don't get me started. I experienced some genuine gut punch moments and some that left me in disbelief. There's a pair of chapters during the first half that screwed 👏 My 👏 Mind 👏
They did serve a purpose but I'm sure they were put there purely to mess with us in a cruel way...
For the first half of the novel I was beginning to think we had a budding George R.R. Martin on our hands because this author isn't afraid to kill off characters. And on that note, let's address the body count. Well, it's huge, it's brutal and it's gory. An honest to god bloodbath. And it's personal. This isn't the apocalyptic everybody dies at once kind of bodycount, this is up close, hands on, kill after kill.
The soundtrack is well thought out and a first for me. It works well alongside the story and makes the cinematic feel of it all that much greater. A lot of the lyrical content of the songs are fitting to the chapters and overall story (um hello... 🎵why did love put a gun in my hand🎵). I imagine it won't be for everyone, especially if you find music distracting while reading but try it!
To sum it up, this is an adrenaline injected read full of blood, guts and good humor. For a novel with so much (so much) violence, it's a lot of good fun and has some actual heartfelt, touching moments. Instead of being perfect heroes, the characters are believably flawed, they make mistakes, and they feel human and relatable. I couldn't compare this to any other book but think of Van Helsing, if Van Helsing were set in the 80s, directed by Tarantino and had a hard R rating.
Just a note for others...
pay attention to the author's note at the front of the book. I initially skipped it and started reading thinking the author had named the main character after himself, which almost put me off, before realising it's written as something of a fictitious (or is it?) autobiography.
Night was a really strong character in this book and his story and journey was definitely made up of some horrible experiences full of gore and terror!
I loved his relationship with Suzie and the main event surrounding them shaped his whole future and laid the way for his revenge arc!
I initially though this would be full on vamps/monsters/supernatural elements and whilst there are elements at the start and a main chunk in the last quarter there’s a whole long middle section based in a prison where there are a lot of human monsters that need dealing with. I don’t want to say too much without giving spoilers but the events in the prison certainly assist with the finale of the book!
I really enjoyed the ‘good’ inmates relationships in the prison and the relationship with The Warden. Also particularly like Tex and his mentorship!
Thoroughly enjoyed this one and will definitely be reading more from Issac in the future!
Wow wow wow wow okay. Let me get this down while it's fresh in my mind.
This took me completely by surprise. I've always had the opinion that reading a debut novel by an indie author is taking a chance. It could be good, it could be trash, because let's face it, there's a lot of trash out there. Even with books from big publishers, some are duds. But this? Pure gold.
The cover and title is what caught my attention at first. I'm a lover of all things nostalgic and horror so I thought sure I'll give it a shot, and boy am I glad I did! A lot of the other reviews have mentioned the basic premise of the story, I'll not go in to that, but what I will say is this book is insanity from start to finish. It sets up the characters nicely, introducing us to Night and Suzie, then wastes no time in getting to the grit.
What we have here is a story with strong characters, laugh out loud humor (I was almost in tears at a few bits), insane balls to the wall action and violence, violence, violence. Another reviewer stated this has nothing to do with movies, but I wholly disagree. Not only is this book absolutely full of references and homages that horror fans should enjoy, it also reads like a movie and feels like one. While it IS over the top and full of cheese, it's also self aware and doesn't take itself too seriously, which made for a lot of fun.
I will admit, I did struggle with some scenes as there are a couple that involve sexual assault, but I don't feel like they went TOO far or as if they were only included for shock value.
I feel like the author struck a good balance of themes here but make no mistake, while this book is quite silly and fun, it's also very graphic in terms of violence. Maybe not one for the overly squeamish.
Oh blimey, what a willllld ride! I absolutely loved this. It was written in a way that I just wanted to keep reading and reading. It was comical, overdramatic, funny in a dark way and overall, as the title says, very B-Movie! However, despite this, the book did a fantastic job of developing its main character, Night, and bringing lots of emotion into his situation.
At just 19 years old, he's accused of a murder he didn't commit. Because of this, we see Night go from teenager to man, free man to locked up, kind of weak to almighty tough! He meets an fortune teller, werewolves, vampires, an awesome gunslinger! He meets some awesome people in prison (l loved his buddies and why did I imagine the warden who needs his help as Patrick Stewart?), also some absolute disgusting worst of the worst people! He travels across the States, he even watches an exorcism! Night is one hella badass and he won't take no messing! He's out for the revenge for the people that ruined his life, and he won't stop until he's got it!
There is constant action and it truly felt like I was watching a movie! The writing is so good and I'd have happily kept reading even if it went on longer! I'm going to miss Night and his wild, dangerous adventures. I'd love to read more about where he's going next!
If you're a horror lover, this book is perfect for you. Especially if you love dark humour! As expected, it is brutal at times, but you can probably figure that out from the title. Well worth the read.
I really liked the premise of this book and loved the prison elements. I liked the character Night and really felt bad for him and the crap hand he got dealt.
Unfortunately I did end up DNFing the book, and this was due to one irritating reason, at times when an authors voice could have been more neutral, the author choose to keep it the same as the character’s. Which made the entire book read like the chaddest chad was telling it. This may have been a stylistic choice, but it wasn’t for me, especially when the main character has a such a strong unique voice. There were times when I needed a break from his phrasing and intense personality and there was none. Resulting in me rolling my eyes because the main character was always “on”.
That being said, I think this book will find its cult like following no problem. There will be those who love the style choices that didn’t clap for me. I also have to admire the effort and energy that went into maintaining such a strong consistent voice throughout the entire book (even if I didn’t enjoy it).
“I’d say revenge is a dish best served raw, bloody and screaming for mercy.”
What. A. Ride. This book had me screaming! It was a whole experience- complete with soundtrack!
Some notes I made whilst reading;
📼 Underlying creepiness- all is not well here!
📼 Well that was a sucker punch
📼 Twists and Turns ahoy
📼What is it with bloody eyeballs 🤮
📼 Deliverance vibes
📼 In love with Betsy 😍
Intrigued? You should be. This book was one hell of a ride… A great story with characters you can’t help but love paired with scenes that test the strength of your stomach! Hard to review without giving away the plot- the twists and turns were artfully executed with a brilliant cast of characters.
I absolutely loved the soundtrack concept- the artful choices paired brilliantly with the action. My highlights had to be the usage of Aha’s Take on Me and Bowie’s Let’s Dance which were pure genius!
Go read this now! It’s now made its home on my Indie wall and it’s fitting in beautifully! 😍
