Don't Fall for Your Grumpy Husband

Rate this book
From USA Today bestselling author Logan Chance comes a wickedly, funny romcom that'll have you laughing out loud one minute and swooning the next. What happens when you fall for your husband?
"Wanted: Husband—ASAP!"

My dad’s will has one major hiccup: I need a husband to keep the ranch that’s been my life’s work. Forget that I’ve been running this place solo for years—now, it’s wedding bells or bust.

There’s just one small issue: no groom in sight, and the clock’s ticking down faster than a herd of wild mustangs. Enter Callum Atwood—handsome, rugged, and willing to say “I do” to save my ranch. In my panic, I don’t think twice.

Mission: Marry Callum. Save the ranch. Easy, right?

But when his nosy family gets wind of our plan, they go full-on Parent Trap, pulling every trick in the book to turn this fake marriage into the real deal. The more time we spend dodging their matchmaking schemes, the more I realize Callum’s not just a means to an end—he’s the husband I never knew I needed.

Now, with the ranch on the line and sparks flying, this wild ride might just lead to a real-life happily ever after. If we don’t kill each other first.

*This is an interconnected standalone with a happily ever after.

I loved this book. I have been waiting for Callum’s story. I think I actually fell in love with him. He was a take charge kind of guy. Violet was in trouble and he took action. Logan Chance did it again. Another five star read. Not one disappointed moment. Definitely a must read for anyone needing a good book.

These siblings just keep getting better! Callum is such a sweetheart and I absolutely adore Violet. They have great chemistry and I love how we get to keep up with all the other characters from the past books as well.

They say *Save The Best For Last* well…. That definitely stand true with this book .

I’m going to start off saying this book is my favorite for the year, I’ve been intrigued with Callum from book 1 in this series, I’ve been crushing on him and claiming him as MINE. Don’t get me wrong I love each book and all the Atwood siblings and their partners, they are each unique in their own ways but one thing that grabs you is the family values and funny banter between them all. That’s where Callum comes in…. He’s the oldest of the crew and takes life and work too seriously so when a situation arises and Violet is in need of help you got it…. to the rescue.
Logan has a way of writing stories that flow perfectly where you fall for his characters and actually feel as if they are real ( wait aren’t they real)?
It’s so bittersweet that this series has come to finish but the phenomenal writing I feel was the perfect ending to a series that I will forever be invested in.

Please grab this book ( and series if you haven’t) and dive in asap I really wish I could give this more than the 5 stars.
Enjoy reading

If you are a fan of Logan’s like I am, you have been waiting for this story the entire series and boy, you will not leave disappointed. Seeing a different side of Callum throughout this read was so hot. He finally found his forever love and it changed everything for him. Violet is just a girl that grew up on her ranch and after her father passed away she finds out she has to get married within 2 1/2 months to keep the ranch forever. She goes on the hunt looking for a husband, she just didn’t expect it to be Callum. Watching them come together as a couple was absolutely beautiful. Im going to name scenes in this book that were hot, will make you go “aww” or leave you in tears because of joy.

This whole series is a fantastic thing to read if you are looking for something to binge. I will forever be a sucker for an interconnected series. The family banter throughout the whole series was developed with perfection. Highly Recommend.

I loved that they helped each other be less of workaholics, and they had some fun. The family shenanigans are great, and as always, I love finding out what all the Atwood's are up to!

This was a great series, and it will definitely be on my list for rereads!

Don’t fall…. LOL
I love Magnolia Ridge, the Atwood’s and the Don’t Fall series, each one just grabs your attention and holds on tight until the end.
Callum and Violet were so fun to read. Their chemistry, banter, and companionship won me over quickly. The way Callum stepped up to help out, as is his nature, was sweet, but the way the relationship with Violet evolved was perfection.
This is an easy read, full of humour, swoons, steam and romance, it’s lighthearted, heartwarming and sweet and has the best characters.
I can’t recommend this whole series enough.

Callum and Violet’s story was the perfect way to end the series! The whole series has been an amazing journey of characters but Callum and Violet were my absolute favorite. I love Callum’s grumpy take character of everything personally and how he took care of Violet when she needed the help. I honestly couldn’t put it down. I hate the series is over but it ended with the perfect couple. Definitely check it out!

Wow! Violet and Callum’s story was everything. Grump meets sunshine read. Callum is so wrapped up in work that he has never felt he deserved any happiness until Violet. Violet needs a husband to save her ranch and Callum wants his family off his back, what better way but to work together and find a compromise that works for the both of them. Their story was fun, steamy and sexy as they navigate their marriage of convenience. Loved their story and recommend it. This series is awesome and a definite must read. I found this on BookSprout.

I devoured "DFFYGH" in one afternoon! It’s all about Callum and Violet, who get married out of necessity to save her ranch. I love that both of them are all about work but they bring out a lighter side in each other; it made their dynamic really fun.

As the story goes on, what starts as a fake marriage turns into something much deeper, especially with the support of the lively Attwood family.

The surprise Callum has planned for Violet was such a sweet moment! Overall, it was an enjoyable read that really captures the magic of unexpected love.

Don’t Fall For You’re Grumpy Husband is book #6 in the Magnolia Falls Series, and what a story! Violet needs to get married to keep her family ranch, but finding a husband is not easy for a workaholic like her, until Callum steps in and offers to help with a marriage of convenience, solving Violet’s problems and his own issue of getting his family off of his back about working so much and finding a woman to settle down with. When feelings come into it, and the attraction takes hold, what started as a fake marriage soon becomes real and their chemistry is off the charts!! The family group chats are hilarious, and watching Callum finally find where is heart belongs is heartwarming. This was the perfect book to end this phenomenal series.

Oh my goodness! If you’re like me and have read these standalone, intertwined books as they’ve been released then it’s bittersweet to read the last sentences of the final book in the Magnolia Ridge Series as Violet and Callum are the last to tell their story. One that has endless passion, fast paced yet filled with just the right amount of details to have you grinning and of course swooning chapter to chapter. Steamy scenes as well as happy tears too. I’ve said it more than once and I’ll say it again, I absolutely adore this family.

Finally, we get to hear Callum's story! If you're a fan of Logan's like I am, you've been eagerly waiting for this tale throughout the entire series, and trust me, it does not disappoint.
This charming small-town romance features a grumpy sunshine dynamic within a marriage of convenience, making for a fast-paced read. The characters leap off the page, filled with intense emotions, witty banter, and delightful moments, both playful and tender. The fiery, passionate romance unfolds gradually, leading to a heartwarming happily ever after. The scenic backdrop is nothing short of breathtaking, showcasing true love in all its glory.
In the small town of Magnolia Ridge, the Attwood brothers run the Attaboy Brewery. Callum, the eldest and a perfectionist workaholic, is single and claims he has no time for romance. Violet, owner of a horse ranch, faces losing her beloved property unless she marries before her 30th birthday. With no man in her life, she’s beautiful, smart, and fearful of her fate. They strike a marriage-of-convenience deal to help Violet keep her ranch and to ease Callum's family's pressure to find a partner. Together, they confront family antics and various obstacles before their story unfolds.

I thoroughly enjoyed the storyline! Logan Chance did a fantastic job of pulling Callum out of his workaholic habits. Violet is the perfect match for him, thanks to her wisdom and kindness. The sense of family camaraderie is exceptional, making you feel as though you want to jump right into the story. This book serves as a wonderful conclusion to an incredible series. With each book I've read by Logan Chance, I love witnessing the growth in his storytelling abilities and how my appreciation for his work continues to deepen.
I highly recommend giving this a try! You won't be disappointed!

Violet loves her ranch. What she doesn’t love is that she will lose it if she doesn’t get married soon. Callum is totally focused on running At A Boy Brewery with his family. He just wants his family to stop telling him he needs a lite outside of the brewery. When Violet tells him her woes, he offers to marry her to meet the requirements of her father’s will. Will their marriage of convenience end as friends or will they discover that they belong together?
I like Violet. Her love for her ranch was believable. I felt bad that she was put in a position she wasn’t comfortable with. She was so lucky that Callum is a good guy who genuinely just wanted to help her. Callum is a very serious man. I like the journey the author gave him to learn to have a life outside of the brewery. It was a nice addition that he never noticed Violet until she admits she has to get married. They grow together in a believable way. I was rooting for them by the end. I liked all of the side characters.
I don’t understand how this plan was supposed to help Callum to get his family to leave him alone about marriage. I understand they got married but he told all of his siblings that it wasn’t real. That’s way too many people who know the truth. And if they hadn’t decided to stay together then how would they explain it to his parents while still being friends. It was confusing.
This is a marriage of convenience story. Both of the characters are adults with time-consuming jobs. This is a feel good family story. I will read more from this author in the future.

ENJOYABLE SMALL-TOWN ROMANCE GRUMMPY SUNSHINE MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE READ

This is a small-town romance, grumpy sunshine marriage of convenience fast-paced read. Admirable characters spring to life with stormy emotions, clever banter, fun times, and tender moments. Fiery, passionate romance is a slow burn and a Gamechanger happy forever. Picturesque scenes are breathtaking; true romance shines in this read.

Story takes place in the small-town Magnolia Ridge where the Attwood brothers run the Attaboy Brewery. Callum, the eldest brother, is a workaholic wanting everything to be perfect at the Brewery. He’s the odd guy out not having a special lady in his life. His excuse he has no time. Violet owns a horse ranch no man in her life. She lost her dad, and his will states she needs to be married before her 30th birthday or she’ll lose the ranch she loves. She’s beautiful smart and in a state of fear. Callum has ladies flirting with him; no one fits his personality. They strike a deal of a marriage of convenience to keep her ranch and getting his family off his back about finding a woman. They face family antics and some obstacles too before their story ends.

Loved the storyline: the author does a great job pulling Callum out of his workaholic behavior. Violet is the perfect match for Callum with her wisdom and kindness. The family camaraderie is outstanding, making you want to jump into the story. This book is the perfect ending to this fantastic series. I enjoyed every minute reading this story and received a pre-released copy.

Logan Chance has finally given us the brother we have all waited for, Callum. To everybody in Magnolia Ridge he is the grumpy brother, the loner of the family pack and a workaholic in and out. The thing is he is getting tired of being the brother everybody teases all the time about being single and alone. Logan Chance created him as the eldest and grumpiest but in reality he is really a teddy bear at heart just secretly hiding it. Seeing Violet strong and scared at the same times makes you wonder how in the world Callum can help her without falling for her as well. By all counts she is a woman who can do things herself but no one can ignore a sexy, strong, handsome guy like Callum. Fans of Logan Chance will love seeing Violet fighting to not fall with her heart was hilarious because you can see the love they have right away. In many ways Violet makes Callum feel more alive and yes there is a life outside the family business filled with love, friendship and even laughter. Logan Chance and this series is one you need to read we have from friends, best friends, some what enemies and friends helping one another to find that true love is just magical. Callum and Violet can be read alone but to really get the feel of the Atwood family and Magnolia Ridge grab the whole series, loved it.

The conclusion of the Magnolia Ridge series and I think this was the best book in the series.

Violet’s Dad passes away and a couple of months later she learns that she needs to marry before her 30th birthday to keep her home and ranch.

Enter Callum making a delivery to Violet’s ranch. Callum stumbles across Violet who is still trying to process the news she just received.

Callum comes up with a solution that will solve both their problems. Will Violet agree?

What will Callum’s siblings think about the situation? How will Callum’s parents react to the whole situation?

Logan thanks for saving the best Atwood for last!

My favorite quotes:

“He comes from a fabulous family, the type whose door is always open and they will do anything to help you. I can’t help but wonder what they’ll think of this whirlwind marriage, but that’s his problem to deal with, not mine. As far as I’m concerned, this is a business deal.”

“There’s no humor to it, nothing about this moment is funny. The air is thick with need and the want is thick around us. We’re about to cross a line in this marriage I never thought we would.”

“I think there’s something wrong with me, because I feel myself falling deeper and deeper into something I’ve never felt before. Is this love?”

“Move like you mean it, cowboy.”

““You deserve someone to look after you, just like you’ve always looked after all of us.”

I have been anticipating this final book the standalone Magnolia Ridge series. After reading the first five books, and seeing how each of the Atwood siblings got their happy endings, I was secretly hoping that the eldest, Callum, would find his match as well.
Callum has always been the provider, protector, and seemingly responsible for every aspect of Atta Boy Brewery. This workaholic has met his match in Violet.
Violet, a true workaholic, running her ranch and working alongside her ranch hands in a physically demanding, never-ending job herself.
She needs a husband so she doesn't lose her ranch. He steps in, thinking it's going to just be a business arrangement and they shake hands.
As they start living together, doing chores together, enjoying the family chats and the banter, all it takes is one kiss to get them to each realize there's something more between them than just a business deal.
I loved watching these two find their way to love. Their ease of companionship and the sizzling heat the simmered between them.
I loved reading each of these books and highly recommend them all. I devoured this book in one short afternoon.

I would love to give this book 10 stars, if I could. I am sad like many others that this series is coming to an end. I love that Logan chose to give us Callum’s story as the last book in the series. It’s a series that I will read over and over. Logan knows how to write stories that make you feel like you are a part of their world. They pull you in and you don’t want to let go.

Logan doesn’t disappoint with Callum and Violet’s story. We have gotten to know Callum as a workaholic all through this series as all of his other siblings fell in love. Callum was happy and happy to see that all of his siblings were finding the loves of their lives. He was fine not having that special someone. So why wouldn’t this relationship start off as a business deal? Sometimes things don’t work out how you plan. Callum and Violet are a perfect match, and we get to see a different side of both of them. I loved that Logan took us on the journey with them falling in love.

I would recommend this book a thousand times. You won’t be disappointed. Get this book today!

This is the final book in the Magnolia Ridge series and while I’m sad that it’s over, Logan definitely left the best for last!

Callum is the Atwood brother that swore he would never marry because he was married to the brewery. Violet found out that there was a stipulation in her father’s will that she had to marry before her 30th birthday to be able to keep the ranch that has been in her family for generations.

As you may have guessed, they decide to marry each other so that Violet can keep the ranch and Callum can get his family off of his back for a bit. And of course, they realize that they have feelings for each other as they navigate their “fake” marriage. But what they don’t expect or see coming is the depth and quickness of these feelings. They each pull something out of the other that they desperately need - and leads to a wonderful HEA!

Once again, Logan pulls you in with relatable characters and a family dynamic with the Atwood’s that makes you want them to adopt you!

I have loved this entire series but this book was definitely my favorite! Highly recommend!!

This was a sweet and funny light hearted read. Violet’s father passed away. And she happily took over running the ranch. Until she finds out that in her fathers will she has to be married by the time she thirty. Which is two months away. Or she will lose the ranch. She doesn’t know what’s she’s going to do. Callums time is consumed with running his brewery. He’s the oldest of his siblings, and the only one that doesn’t have a partner. When Violet can’t come pick up the grain she purchased Callum volunteers to take it out to the ranch. He and Violet know of each other, but haven’t talked. When he walks in and see her crying and ask if she’s ok Violet lets it all out. Callum see the opportunity to get his family off his back about finding a partner while helping Violet save her farm. And he offers to marry her. They both get married knowing it’s just on paper. But can they keep their feelings out of it the more they get to know each other? I loved Callum!

Ahh..the last of the Atwoods. Callum has watched all his siblings and best friend fall in love. But, he is too busy trying to run the brewery. While delivering to the ranch one day, he sees Violet upset and inquires why. She tells him that her father wrote in his will that she had to marry before she was 30 in order to inherit the ranch. Oh, and she will be 30 in 2 months. Callum, seeing an opportunity decides to help her out. Now his family will stop asking him about when he is going to marry. As they spend time with each other, Cal starts to see the appeal and it doesn’t take long before the husband and wife really start to fall for each other.

Such a sweet story. It’s great to finally see Cal settle down and all the siblings. Loved the world created and all the banter amongst the characters. I wish we could have gotten a family epilogue but overall a good book and series.

Time is running out for Violet which means her horse ranch is in jeopardy if she doesn’t marry. She needs a husband and with no man in her life she is running out of options. A marriage of convenience between her and Callum could be the solution to her problem however even if they want it to remain an arrangement the people in their lives don’t agree.

Callum is a man who has always put the family business first to the detriment of his personal life. He is content with the choices he has made but when Violet needs a husband having her as a wife would also alleviate the concerns of his family but there is nothing pretend about the feelings they are developing for each other.

The banter between them is humorous, the camaraderie between the family the family is touching and the romance between Callum and Violet is both unexpected and undeniable as two people who didn’t think they were looking for love find it when they least expected to.

I can’t believe Book 6 in the Magnolia Ridge series is here, and I’m just not ready to say goodbye to the Atwood family! This last book centers on Callum’s story, and I knew it was going to be a good one. Violet, a local rancher and friend to a few of the Atwoods, finds herself in a tough spot after her father passes away. When she discovers she has to be married before she turns 30—and that milestone is only months away—she’s overwhelmed. Enter Callum, who arrives at her ranch just in time to catch her in a moment of panic.

The two strike up a partnership: a marriage of convenience. Both Callum and Violet are workaholics who haven’t made room for love, so this arrangement feels like the perfect solution. And of course, as we all know with this trope, things don’t stay that simple.

I loved watching Callum grow and realize there’s more to life than just work. Seeing Violet welcomed into the Atwood fold from the start made the story feel even more genuine and heartwarming. Now that the series is over, I’m not sure what to do without the Atwood family. But if there’s one thing I know, it’s that anything Logan writes will be amazing!

This series is just the perfect little romance series that covers so many of my favorite tropes and does it well! This one was marriage of convenience and my favorite part was that the reason for the marriage was not hidden, which added a new storyline I so rarely see in this trope that I adored. Callum’s whole family wanted it to be a real marriage so bad that they start scheming and I loved how Violet took it so well. The reader can tell how much she wants a family again after losing hers and so she seamlessly joins Callums.

Callum and Violet are a slow burn, they don’t recognize the chemistry or feelings at first, but when they do, all bets are off as they try to bring real feelings into a no-strings marriage. When they do get together, it gets spicy and their chemistry comes off the page so well!

Discovering that she needs to find a husband ASAP to keep her ranch, Violet is on a search for someone to fill the role to help her. Enter Callum, who just happens to be dropping something off at the ranch and ends up offering to help her out, mostly to get his family off his case about finding someone instead of being a workaholic. After setting their "rules" they elope at the local courthouse. Being an only child, Violet has no one to share this with, but Callum coming from a big family shares the news with his siblings first, then during Sunday dinner, tells his parents. Everyone seeing that there is chemistry between the two, except them. However, close proximity starts turning what was pretend real and wanting to find out what happened with them had me wanting to not put this down until I was done!

I have been waiting for Callum’s story ever since I started reading this series and boy oh boy I was so very excited and new it would be epic. Callum is my favourite of the Attwood men and I knew that underneath his grumpy exterior there would be a very gentle and passionate person and we see that in this book. Violet and Callum are so perfect together and although they are brought together to help Violet keep her ranch you can feel the love that is blossoming between them. Logan Chance has given us a wonderful series and all the characters have captured my heart and I am so very sad to say goodbye to them. This definitely was the perfect way to end this series and I am looking forward to reading more from Logan Chance in the future. Do yourself a favour and read these books. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect Ending

Callum has been a grumpy and dour presence throughout the Magnolia Ridge series. He has glowered at his brothers and sister, and almost frightened his best friend. We have seen how hard he works, and how protective he is, and that he gives 100 per cent to the business he's built to provide for their future.
In many ways, Violet is the same, without the grumpiness. She helped her father run the ranch, and now it's hers, until she learns about a clause in the will: she must marry to keep it.
The sixth Attwood sibling, Callum's story is long overdue since he is the oldest, but well worth waiting for. We see the loving and caring side of him come to the fore, and an unexpected light-hearted nature buried under the responsibility. Violet is his ideal match, adventurous, industrious, humorous and appreciative.
A terrific romance, with terrific characters.

Callum finds Violet crying in a barn, it's very unusual for her to cry, her father's mantra was 'cowgirl's don't cry'. He died recently and she's just found out she has to be married by the time she turns thirty, which is a couple of months away, to keep the family ranch.
All Callum's family have found their partners, and his mother and siblings are always trying to find someone for him to get together with. He decides that it would be a good idea if he and Violet got married, it would help her with the will and help him get his family off his back. He hopes!
They are both so busy they don't have time to look for love, so this is the best chance for both of them.
