"L is for Loving: An ABC for the Way You Feel" is a good discussion starter. For kids that are around 5 to 7, they are still figuring out how to appropriately display their feelings. In my classroom, I'll use this to lead into how different emotions fit different situations better. It's not only a good conversation starter, the pages are extremely heart warming. It is an enjoyable short read. I've never seen an ABC book that had this kind of twist on the alphabet.
This book was an enjoyable read. I really liked how the author connected each letter to a feeling. The way that the book was illustrated was great because the pictures really captured your attention. The illustrations were bright and colorful and they depicted images that young children would connect with. The cover art is what drew me to the book and if the cover art could engage me then it would definitely engage a young child.
