The first thing I have to say about “Idol Moves” is that this book strengthened not only my love for Tae Hyun and Jason as a couple, but also for KT Salvo as an author! This story was amazing and even though I already loved the first book “Idol Minds”, this second instalment really knocked it out of the park for me. I loved every second I spent with this book and right now all I want is a third book so I can get more of those two awesome men and their friends! Jason and Tae Hyun effortlessly moved into my heart and they came to stay. I mean the mere fact I requested both books as an e-ARC and read them in the very same year they came out as ARCs should tell you enough about my enjoyment. I never do that. Ever. But I did it with this series, because it’s exactly what I craved for and wanted to read for ages: A book about two male idols that fall in love and fight for their HEA with everything they have.
”None of the choreographers he’d worked with at KBR were options. And many of the independent choreographers he’d spoken with said they would’ve loved the work, but KBR’s vengeful gaze and long reach prevented them from taking it. It was like that with everything. Resources Tae Hyun had easily accessed before were suddenly beyond his grasp.”
And boy, did they fight for it! In the first book Jason and Tae Hyun were outed by the press and after years of denying who they truly were they decided they didn’t want to hide anymore and openly admitted they were in love and dating. So in the first book we got a little bit of the falling-out between them and their companies, but the story was more focused on how the two men fell in love and less on the repercussions they would have to face. In “Idol Moves” however we’re confronted with the harsh reality of what it means to be out and proud when you’re a k-pop idol in South Korea. Tae Hyun and Jason are working on Tae Hyun’s solo career and KBR certainly doesn’t make it easy for him to start one. They are everywhere and they use all their power in order to keep him away from the big stages in his home country.
“If he were at all superstitious, he might be worried. But he wasn't. Because what Seong Hyeon probably didn't know was that Jason generally always expected the worst from people. His parents had taught him that by never once rising to meet his expectations."
Jason and Tae Hyun wouldn’t be the men they are if they’d allow them to thwart their dreams, though. Both of them know what they want and how to achieve it and they decided they wouldn’t back down. No matter how hard Tae Hyun’s former company tries to silence them, they fight back as good as they can. At times this was really frustrating to witness, though, and I felt so much for Tae Hyun and his helplessness whenever he was confronted with another obstacle that was put in his way. Still, their struggles felt very realistic and I’m pretty sure that things like this would actually happen to openly gay idols in South Korea. Being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community is still not easy over there. You only have to read articles about real idols that came out and you’ll know what I mean. Korean society is very traditional and as always, it needs time to grow and to evolve. I really liked that KT Salvo didn’t shy away from addressing those issues and gave them room in this book. The pushback Jason and Tae Hyun received made this story feel so much more realistic and showed how much work still needs to be done.

“Then cry. You may be an idol, but you’re a person, too. Let everyone see the real you. It’s only gonna make them love you more.” Tae Hyun grabbed onto Jason’s arms and squeezed. “Now you’re gonna make me cry, hyung.”
“Then cry,” Jason lovingly purred. “But I’ve already seen the real you. And I love you the most.”
Anyway! What I really loved about this book was the fact that Tae Hyun and Jason fought for their love but also allowed themselves to acknowledge their powerlessness and weaknesses. They struggled, but they spoke about it and they let themselves feel their disappointment and resentment for the people they’d known and who let them down. They grieved the loss of their lives before they came out, yet at the same time they embraced the freedom that came along with it. The way KT Salvo wrote their character arcs! It’s amazing. Chef’s kiss! Perfection! And yes, Jason and Tae Hyun changed so much from the first book but they still didn’t lose their essence and what made them, them. If that makes any sense?!
”I thought I was good at sanding up for myself, sunbaenim. But I see I could take lessons from you. Thank you.”
Jason snorted. “I know how to be an asshole in three languages.”
Those two men were so strong and my heart broke for them whenever they were confronted with another fight they didn’t see coming. No matter if it were Tae Hyun’s parents or his close friends, there was a lot of resistance and at times it seemed like all those obstacles would suffocate them and their love. Thankfully, there was a lot of unexpected solidarity as well and that made it a little easier for them to push through and to carry on. Still, to read about the pushback from within their own rows was extremely painful and after reading this book I love Naomi, Yun Seo (Tae Hyun’s sister) and the Song brothers even more! No, seriously, Seong Min and Seong Hyeon are the best bodyguards and human beings ever!!! My love for them is as deep as the ocean and their friendship and bonds with Jason and Tae Hyun are everything.
”His parents thought they owned him. Just as Chang Min had. Tae Hyun shook his head again. Nobody owned him. Not his parents. Not his ex. Not his former record label. Only Jason seemed to realize that. You’re not my possession, he’d told Tae Hyun multiple times. Of course, he’d choose Jason over his family.”
”Jason was suddenly tired, too. He was tired of carrying those feelings when he’d already moved on. He had a life. He had someone he loved. He didn’t need that anger anymore.”
Due to all of those experiences, Tae Hyun as well as Jason came such a long way and I can’t say how much I love them for finding their own way and accepting themselves. They found their voices and I’m so invested in them and so proud of how far they’ve come. I know, the way I talk about them you’d think they are actual people, but to me they feel so real they might as well be. ;-) After everything they went through, it’s a miracle they still didn’t lose their humour and I was happy to see that we got a lot of funny scenes as well. Of course, we also got steamy ones and they always fit so perfectly into the storyline. For me they emphasised the strong relationship between Jason and Tae Hyun and their additional small and tender moments throughout the entire book had me on my knees. The love between those two men knows no boundaries.
”Whatever lingering anger he might’ve felt had dissipated as he listened to his lover’s sobs. The blossoming ache in his heart made his back pain pale in comparison. There was honestly nothing that Tae Hyun could’ve said to him that would’ve made him feel any differently. The man he loved was in much greater pain, and no amount of arguing would make Jason love him any less.”
Conclusion:
All told, I absolutely loved and adored “Idol Moves”! This book was amazing and the character arcs were so well done, it was pure pleasure to read about Jason and Tae Hyun’s journey. Just like with the first book this story had everything, I ever wanted and craved for and it’s still the only written m/m k-pop/k-drama I know. KT Salvo is definitely a pioneer of that genre and I can’t wait to read more of them. The lives of idols, the LGBTQIA+ rep, the steamy scenes, the deep love of the two protagonists, the awesome side characters, the humour and the suspense made this one hell of a ride and all I can say is: I want more! Can I have a third book, please?

It was amazing and the character developments were so good! It had everything I want in a k-pop/k-drama romance and I’m just ahhh and I read the last 35% like nobody’s business because the suspense was real!!!

I really enjoyed the first book “Idol Minds” and I’m more than just happy to dive into this one! Jason’s and Tae-Hyun’s story was so good, I loved it in the first book and I’m so glad I can read more about their relationship and their struggles. Everything only just begun in the first book, so here I am craving for more. And more I got! *lol*

Idol Moves was a great continuation of Tae-hyun and Jason's story. This second volume went a little darker than the first but was a satisfying read both in terms of an interesting development in the plot and in the further exploration of the romantic relationship. It finished in a way that was satisfying but which still left me wanting to know what would happen next, so I hope there will be a third volume to conclude the story. I am giving this book four stars.

Tae-hyun and Jason's love burns brighter and deeper in this sizzling sequel. In a story filled with mystery, action, and seduction their relationship faces perilous new challenges testing the strength of their bond. This tantalizing read had my heart racing and left me craving the next book.

More romance books should get sequels, just so we can spend more time with the characters. I was glad to see Idol Minds got a sequel, and excited to read it early!
I've enjoyed Idol Minds, and I enjoyed this too, but I also have to admit these aren't exactly my brand of romances. I like the characters and the actual romance, but the high stakes of these books and the darker element don't really work for me in a romance, because I read those to be comforted. This leaves me feeling a little conflicted, because there are a lot of elements I enjoyed, but overall this just isn't exactly my type of book. I am still glad I read the sequel, just to spend more time with the characters.

Idol Moves brings us further into Jason and Tae Hyun's evolving romance, presenting a deeper portrayal of their relationship. The story highlights the struggles faced by queer couples in the face of conservative family and society while effectively blending common romance tropes with the tension and flash of popular K-dramas. I love Salvo's sharp writing style as much as their unflinching willingness to shine a light on the pitfalls of fame, fortuune, and family.

-- I don't get the romance and the "feels" here and this was similar in #1. It's described but I don't feel it. It seems to stay on the descriptive level.
-- Tracking the many names is confusing and frustrating. I can't tell if it's because there are too many characters, the use of Korean naming protocol (generation plus specific individual names), or that several are very similar.
-- The "racial code" in how Naomi and Raven are depicted is very stereotypical and flat.
-- The whole KBR conquer the world and/or crush TH got to be tiresome. The intrigue had potential but their "evil empire" pursuits weren't presented well. What is their motive? Some testosterone-fueled fragility slash vengefulness?
I had higher hopes for a M/M and esp. an AM/AM series here. I won't be reading #3.

Just when Jason and Tae Hyun announced their love to the world, the world pushed back. Idol Moves is a sizzling, surprising romance sequel showing how deep and profound that love can get. Salvo takes us on a darker journey, forcing Jason and Tae Hyun to deal with the sometimes painful realities of bucking the system. Tae Hyun, finally on his own, struggles to define himself as his own man. Jason, taking on an unfamiliar professional role, struggles to deal with what it means to be in a relationship. But the two have each other's backs throughout, riding the twists and turns to a surprising climax. Salvo fleshes the story out with the returning side characters, giving them more depth and growth. A special shoutout to my bestie, Yoo Mi, who even had her own character arc!

Salvo is able to weave present day issues with the kpop industry with a spicy unrequited romance between our two male leads. It reads quick with fun shifts in plot with a wild ending that also took me by surprise in emotional tone.
For fans of EXO, BTS, NCT, SEVENTEEN, and STRAY KIDS with imaginative fantasies (I know which twitter accounts you secretly follow 👀👀👀).

This book was good, a little slow in places and too much about the minutiae of the business side but overall very exciting and full of action. I found it funny how much Jason kept reflecting on his newly-developed/developing ability to control his anger…while he was yelling at people. Not that he wasn’t usually justifiably angry and worried about Tae Hyun’s safety, but he was usually thinking “a few months ago I would have really lost it in this situation” lol

Terrific engaging continuation of this intense celebrity MM romance
Oh these two! I fell for Jason Park and Tae Hyun in Idol Minds and was happy to see their story continue. This is what happens after happily ever, and I’m thrilled to say these two never lose their spark, even in the most trying circumstances. HEA, celebrity spotlight, suspense, these two against the world…great read! No cheating or emotional cheating, and lots of Feels. Highly recommended.

Oh these two! I fell for Jason Park and Tae Hyun in Idol Minds and was happy to see their story continue. This is what happens after happily ever, and I’m thrilled to say these two never lose their spark, even in the most trying circumstances. Books 1 and 2 review:
This is such a cool, unique contemporary romance series, and I’m so happy that I picked it up. Salvo, who is Korean, really delivers on a fascinating, well-constructed context for Tae Hyun and Jason’s love story.
The core of this series is its exploration of the demands and challenges of queer celebrity life and how traditional Korean culture impacts the characters’ careers and personal lives. Though parts of both books take place in LA, most of the story is set in South Korea; similarly, the focus is on Tae Hyun’s idol career more than Jason’s acting one. Between these points and the exploration of the characters’ Korean versus Korean-American experiences, Salvo delivers a deep dive into Korean culture, complete with more than a few winking nods to K-drama and BL. It was so fun and interesting to read, and I am eagerly awaiting more.
In book 2, Tae Hyun is publicly out (so is Jason, for that matter) and has gone solo with the help of Jason’s newly formed production company. This book is a fair bit darker than book 1 because our MCs have to deal with a vengeful idol management company trying to disrupt preparation for Tae Hyun’s first solo tour. In contrast, though, Tae Hyun and Jason are solid, and ugh! I loved how in love they were in this one.
I definitely had to get used to Salvo’s writing style in book 1. They’ve got a direct, dialogue-forward style without a lot of the mushy interiority that I tend to love in my romances. As a result, it took a while for me to get invested in Tae Hyun and Jason’s romance. The flip side of this, though, is that our MCs are wonderfully openly communicative with each other, both outside the bedroom and in, and it is so satisfying.

Gah I was half way through a review and it got glitched. So here is is again.
I Love KT Salvo. His first book rapidly became an all time favorite romance novel for me. Not only was it appropriately spicy (as in the spice made sense and added to the story it wasn’t just shoehorned in for clicks) but it was Such a good story. When I discovered a second book was in the works I was excited and immediately preordered it. I would have ordered a physical copy as well but it wasn’t available yet (boo and hiss). This second in the series continues the love story between Jason and Tae Hyun. If it’s possible, the characters seem even more real than they did in book one. All the best supporting characters return (the brothers bodyguards Grimm, the diva and her fiancé, Tae Hyun’s sister, and Naomi the BA boss lady and older sister figure to Jason). Unlike book one the ending on this one makes it clear a book three is in the works and I can’t wait to read that one as well.
There is a part in this book that made me cry, no spoilers, but please do read trigger warnings (it’s in the front of the book). It’s handled well, and in some ways better even than book one but yeah. Ouch. Anyhow. Read it. Read book one, then read this book. Idol Moves is the 2nd book by KT Salvo and the next chapter in the saga of Tae Hyun and Jason after both of them coming out in the Atmosphere of the Korean Entertainment Industry. At the end of Idol Minds we had Tae Hyun letting the entire world know that Jason was the man he loved but we all know that just because you decided to be in love, doesn’t mean smooth sailing for the rest of your lives. Jason and Tae Hyun receive backlash from both surprising and expected areas of their lives as they try to figure out what the rest of their lives will look like. This was a great follow-up to the first story and I really enjoyed the author’s way of bringing real life reaction and emotions into the story of these two men. As a K-Pop fan, even knowing this is fiction, you can see shades of truth the author provided into the K-Pop world and what happens when you are not the “Perfect Idol” that your company expects you to be. This was a great continuation of a story that I really enjoyed, but HIGHLY recommend reading the first book, Idol Minds before this one as nothing will really make sense without the reference. Can’t wait to read more by the author and hope they give us more in the world of Korean Entertainment.

But everything isn't as rosy as the two stars hoped for, now they're entrenched in L.A. and living together.
Tae Hyun has been shut out of all Seoul venues and his ex managers KBR are using lots of different tactics to ruin his solo career.
They tried shutting him out from presenting at the Music Video Awards, but now things are getting serious, and possibly dangerous.
Despite having protection via the Song brothers, it might not be enough.
The tension between the couple, caused by work stress, dealing with homophobia and threats from CEO Pak, starts to get to Jason and Tae Hyun.
As always, the steam between them is off the charts, the sweetness is there and the love is undeniable.
I adore these characters and definitely want more from the Song family as well.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and was excited when I saw that it would be getting a sequel. I really liked the characters and was looking forward to where this new book would lead them.
I had a fun time reading Idol Moves, and was so excited to get more of Jason and Tae Hyun (I love him so much). After his very public coming out Tae Hyun is excited to start pursuing his solo career as his authentic self. Despite homophobes and his old music label trying to stonewall him at every turn. With the support of his loving LA boyfriend, Jason, they continue to push forward despite all the negativity.
I enjoyed their romance, and there was a surprising amount of action in this book as well! The author definitely set the book up for a 3rd, because it leaves us on a bit of a cliffhanger. I look forward to seeing where Salvo takes the story and the characters in the next book.

Now that they are together Tae Hyun and Jason Park are dealing with the aftermath of the fairytale love story that started in the first story in this series. Tae has been released or more like jettisoned from his record company for coming out and not following their script. But shaking free of that life and all of the strictures it placed on him are not so easy. Dealing with the pressures of building his own career and fighting against the backlash from those he left will take some help and fortitude for Tae. Staying together in the crucible that is the entertainment industry tests the mettle of these lovers but it was good to see that they had friends and loved ones who stand in with them and help them make their way forward.

It seems like the first book was intended to be a standalone then this book was written with the third in mind. There are multiple threads that are introduced early on that I assumed would be the driving factors in this book (money troubles for Big Hammer, Jason putting his own needs and dreams on hold for Tae Hyung) that didn’t resolve, so I’m assuming (hoping) they will be addressed in the final book. Also hoping the characters get time to deal with the massive trauma that is the climax of this book because WOW- that was really unexpectedly dark for a minute and it feels like we need to see the characters unpack that if we’re going to maintain both the realism and the characterizations we’ve had so far.
Interested to see how it all pans out, since so much feels unfinished it’s hard to have a definitive opinion on this book until I’ve read the next one.

Delving into the intricacies of a relationship between Woo Tae Hyun, a K-pop idol, and Jason Park, an actor, and the challenges they face when their love becomes a public spectacle. As their love grows not everyone supports their relationship. Troubles and the public strain their relationship.
“Idol Moves” by KT Salvo is a good book that represents the Korean idol scene. I thought Tae Hyun and Jason’s relationship was sweet but also realistic. I loved the idol complications which are realistic to what idols deal actually deal with. The characters’ development and growth in the book was really good. I loved it more because there aren’t a lot of books on Korean life. 4 out of 5 stars.

This book takes place after the events of book one, and readers interested in following Tae Hyun and Jason’s story from the start will want to start there, if they haven’t already. Here, there’s some solid relationship progression (yay) and some plot twists that definitely heighten the intensity of the narrative: there’s more action, intrigue, and darkness than the first installment, and I think that comes with both advantages and drawbacks. Overall, this is an engrossing read, and if you enjoyed the first book, you’ll find much to appreciate here as well.

Idol Moves, the scorching sequel to KT Salvo's debut, Idol Minds, continues the electric romance between Jason and Tae Hyun. Finally together, it's the star-crossed couple against the world, as everyone from close family to corporate entertainment empires seems to stand against them. I thought Salvo's cinematic writing style would suit action thrillers as much as grounded romances, and I was right. While the book includes some tension-filled action scenes that ramp the excitement up to 11, the deep and profound love and support between Tae Hyun and Jason keeps the story grounded. If you always wanted to see a fiery gay romance in your fave K-drama, Idol Moves is for you.

Idol Moves reads like a soap opera. It is mildly spicy and the characters are well thought out and developed. Jason Park and Woo Tae Hyun complement each other and so growth through out the book. It’s a fast-passed romance with just the right amount of suspense. While it would be best to read Idol Minds first, it does well as a stand-alone. I adore how committed to communication Jason and Tae Hyun are. It keeps the tense moment grounded with-out lessening the struggles they are going through. Anyone who enjoys celebrity romances will feel right at home.

When I stared “Idol Moves”, I didn’t realize that it was part of a series. I read it anyway (out of order- the blasphemy! I know.) Jason and Tae Hyun we’re an adorable couple. The book was the perfect mix of romance with some suspense and a side of hurt/ comfort. I would recommend this book to all fan-persons, especially k-pop and fan fiction fans. I definitely recommend this book and look forward to read other books in this series!

This is book two in Jason Parks and Woo Tae Hyun’s story, this book is definitely darker than the first and a lot more action packed it shows the development and security in their relationship despite the problems they face the story kept me interested from beginning to end and I hope there will be a third book as although the ending was good I feel a few things still need resolved. Series well worth a read.

This book picks up soon after Idol Minds leaves off, and gives us a good view of Jason and Tae-hyun's relationship development. There's a lot of intrigue, twists and turns and not a small amount of angst external to the relationship between the MCs. I did find Jason's childhood boyfriend trauma so implausible that it was almost distracting, but overall it was an enjoyable follow up to the first book with an ongoing peek behind the curtain at the fictional life of K-pop celebrities.

Book2!! Tae Hyun and Jason are together finally and even more in love, unfortunately they cant get a break! This book deals with the realities of large company blackballing, public relationships (especially lgbt ones) and living away from home. Though they had their issues, love always wins and Tae Hyun and Jason are able to make it out together happy and ready to tackle the world.. tour Tae Hyun has scheduled! I loved this one as well, 5 stars

Idol Moves was a good follow up to Idol Minds and is a continuation of Tae-hyun and Jason's story. This book was a bit darker than the first but did enjoy the change. The plot took an unexpected turn but still concentrated on the two main characters. It finished in a way that was completely open for another book to conclude the story.

Tae Hyun and Jason make moves in their relationship here, but there are those in the industry and in their world who also move against them for a variety of reasons and in a variety of ways. This second volume is darker than the first but this couple has formed a bond that I was very happy to get to see more of. Keeping my fingers crossed for a third volume.
