Her Hometown Hero ( love Inspired \ Caring Canines ) By: Margaret Daley This is a wonderful Inspiration Romance by Margaret Daley. She did an awesome job in the story of Kathleen (Kit) Somers. I had no trouble following the story or the characters. I found myself in tears for Kathleen. I felt so sorry for her. Ballet was Kathleen's life since she was a small girl. She chose ballet as a career over her ex-boyfriend Nate Sterling. Kathleen's ballet career came to a tragic halt when she crossed the street and met with an accident. While back at the soaring S ranch with family to try and heal kit finds herself again with Nate, now Veterinarian, Dr. Nate Sterling. He lost his heart to Kit once when she chose ballet over him. He can't get close to Kit and have the same thing happen again. The cowboy Vet just wants to kelp Kit's heart to heal. Ballet was first in Kit's life, could he show her there is life other than ballet. kathleen's heart is broken, can it ever be healed again after her whole world has been crushed.. There is this little lively poodle therapy dog, Lexie, that I just wanted to pick up and give a great big hug. You will love her too. this is a sweet clean romance, broken hearts, trusting God and healing. I loved Kit and Nate's story and I know you will too. I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review, and I have given it.
What a touching story! Kathleen “Kit” comes home broken, injured, and bitter. She’s not sure what her life will be about without ballet and she’s determined to recover while figuring out her next step. Finding herself and what she’s made of while back in her hometown will not be easy, but it’s a journey worth taking.
Dr. Nate finds out about Kit being home again and is not sure what to think. He needs to know how long she will be in town and how serious her injury actually is. He has seen Kit recover from leg injuries in the past and go right back to ballet, but he doesn’t realize how her life has really changed. He offers his friendship and support immediately. Kit is reluctant to accept his help at first, but soon finds how natural and enjoyable having his attention is.
It is so utterly precious when Nate takes Kit to get Lexie, the poodle therapy dog that becomes her best friend while recovering emotionally as well as physically. I just loved that dog and having her in the story was the ultimate enjoyment!
My favorite characters in this story, EVERYONE who helped Kit recover. Mostly her brother, Howard, and his family, but the whole town gives a hand in supporting Kit and it was beautiful to read.
Two scenes that were wonderful to experience: when Kit makes it to the top of the ridge and when someone gives a performance at the festival to help the kids raise money. I could almost HEAR the applause from the audience and I also wanted to stand up and cheer. WOW, what a moment that was in the story, incredible!!
More than once, I thought Nate was too pushy in questioning Kit about her next move when she herself hasn’t figured it out yet…….but you can see how much he loves her long before he voices this to her. It was cool to see that New York had a tangible presence in Kit’s life. It was mostly the ballet, but it was also a big part of her life. By helping the kids in the community and her own niece, she’s able to discover her own value and that it goes WAY beyond dancing. It was a treat to watch her transition and overcome these dilemmas. And of course, it was wonderful to see her faith renewed. Daley never disappoints when giving a beautiful story filled with great characters and Her Hometown Hero is very unique with an incredible ballerina and the chance to discover her value in Christ. *clapping hands and yelling “encore!”*
I want to thank the author for the review copy provided. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own.
HER HOMETOWN HERO by Margaret Daley, is one of the most heart warming, as well as heart wrenching, novels I have ever read. A very emotional story of an amputee, her therapy dog, Lexie, and her love for dancing as a ballerina, and of course, the love of her life. Such a strong, well written, emotional and inspiring novel, it will have you in tears one moment and rejoicing the next! Margaret did an awesome job in relating how "We Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Us". (Philippians 4:13) Just another reminder of how, even though we might not understand at the moment, we can trust that God is working for our good all along. The story has a wonderful ending, with the promise of much more to come as it is in the Caring Canines series, but also can be read as a stand alone. Highly recommended.
Kit is the main character in this book. She was almost at the top of her career/vocation in ballet when her life changed instantly when part of her leg was amputated after an auto accident. Nate is her old high school sweetheart. He became a vet after they broke up. She goes back to Oklahoma to decide what to do after the accident. There were boring bits to this book. But it was redeemed towards the end. Reread on 12/16-18, 2022.
Kathleen Somers, Kit, is home in Oklahoma recovering from a car injury, She lost the lower portion of her leg and will never dance ballet in NYC again. Dr Nate Sterling was the one she left behind to follow her dreams of dance. Will they fall in love again?
Kathleen comes home after she loses her leg in an accident. She and Dr. Nate have a history together and with a caring canine she can look for a new future in ballet circles.
such a tragic yet beautiful story about a ballet dancer who looses a leg in an accident and finds comfort and hope through animals and falls in love with a vet back in her hometown.
Love the romance but the part about animals giving you love and family and hope and helping you through the hard times were so relatable im like that with my cats its such a sweet story one of my favourite romances
ebook from the library. Caring Canines story (Lexie trained poodle) for Kit and Nate the vet story. Dreams and challenges and circumstances do not define us (some may) it's how we handle dramas. liked the story.
Amazing heart warming book that is romantic and shows how comforting animals can be during tough times beautiful idea <3 wish i could rate this an infinity number/10
So romantic love every word and dogs are the best healing companions sometimes heart warming story full of emotion after reading it one of my favourite books
Margaret Daley brings us an inspirational romance. I always know this author brings a great story, but the message of the story is something that touches my heart. This story will take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride. she introduces us to Kathleen "Kit" Somers who is returning home after an accident has derailed her career. She has come home to the safety to not only heal physically but also emotionally. Since she was 5 years old her dream has always been to dance professionally and just when she's on the top of her career suddenly finds her career over with. Nate Sterling, a local vet, has never gotten over Kit. After their relationship ended years ago Nate has tried to forgive and forget, but forgiving came far quicker than forgetting. Behavior patterns are easily resumed even after years of separation. Upon finding out the extent of Kit's injuries, Nate vows to help her with the recovery process, but plans to keep their relationship on the "friends" status. Kit must face the fact that she will never dance again and figure out what to do with her life, but at the same time she must learn how to live with her physical limitations. Nate becomes far more involved that he had planned on and is worried that she will choose dance over him again. A wonderful story I would recommend to anyone about lost dreams, finding hope, love and a renewed connection with God. I received this book as a gift from the author for an honest review free of bias and outside influence as stated above.
I liked this book very much and it's because the story between the two characters was very realistic! Kathleen (Kit) had wanted to be a ballerina her whole life and it had consumed her. In a split second, it was over when a car hit her and her leg had to be amputated. She has to return to the family ranch in Oklahoma to continue healing but is angry and hopeless. She has no idea what to do with the rest of her life. Wouldn't we all feel the same if we were in the same situation? To add to that, her ex-boyfriend, Nate, just happens to be the veterinarian in town now and no one has told her! She ends up meeting him the first day back and she's overwhelmed with emotions so who can blame her for not treating him very well??!! Nate doesn't know she's lost her leg and he thinks Kit will be on the next plane back to New York. She always is - that's why they broke up! Ballet is her life! The journey Kit and Nate take is such an honest one. Kit's feelings of overcoming this change in her life are true to life! Nate helps her but he knows she's going to leave him anyway. The ending is great but it's also real-life and I loved it! I wont spoil it but I loved that it happened over a couple months and not a day or two like most romance novels do! Sometimes, feelings and hurts take time to get over! That's real life! I would recommend this book!

Caring Canines: Loving and loyal, these dogs mend hearts. what happen to Kathleen to end her career? what is the name of the local veterinarian? how did Kathleen (Kit) Somers and Dr. Nate Sterling meet? what was Kathleen dream Since she was 5 years old? will Kathleen (Kit) Somers and Dr. Nate Sterling be more than friends? Hometown Hero is a wonderful story of hope and healing! Her Hometown Hero by Margaret Daley is a wonderful well written 5 stars book. I am looking forward to reading more books by Margaret Daley. Caring Canines 1. Healing Hearts 2. Her Holiday Hero 3. Her Hometown Hero The Yuletide Rescue (Alaskan Search, book 1) To Save Her Child (Alaskan Search, book 2)
Her Hometown Hero by Margaret Daley A tragic accident ends Kit’s ballerina career. She returns home to recover and runs into old boyfriend Nate at the family ranch. Circumstances put them in each others paths, not to mention a match making family. Feelings are starting to rekindle but will fear of being hurt drive them apart. As Kit heals and finds peace her confidence is restored. Could this mean a different career in the dance field that would bring her back to New York or a future at the Soaring S in Oklahoma with Dr Nate. I really enjoyed this fast paced Love Inspired book. I found Kit’s story to be heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. The author Margaret Daley did an outstanding job bringing the characters to life. I give Her Hometown Hero 5 stars. I recommend it to anyone that loves Christian fiction, romance, faith and wants to be encouraged and motivated to be a better person. I want to give a high-five to the author Margaret Daley and publisher for bringing compelling Christian books that are entertaining and give hope to the reader with stories of faith. The author provided me with this book in exchange for my honest review and I am so grateful for her generosity.
I am a huge fan of Love Inspired books and Margaret Daley, so when they are combined, they're magical for me. Her soon to be released novel is Her Hometown Hero, the third book in her Caring Canines series and it is a sure winner.
What would you do if your dream for your life tragically came to an end in the blink of an eye? Could you move on and focus on a new dream or maybe reinvent the old dream? In Her Hometown Hero Kathleen (Kit) Somers must face such a challenge. With the help of Dr. Nate Sterling, a local veterinarian and her ex-high school sweetheart, she adopts a beautiful little poodle named Lexie, who plays a large part in Kit's healing.
Can Kit and Nate rekindle what they once had or has time swallowed up their chance along with their dreams? I loved the characters of Kit and Nate and although my time with them was short, I would love to see them in another book somewhere in the future. Maybe in the next Caring Canine book?
I would highly recommend picking up a copy of Her Hometown Hero, I guarantee a quick enjoyable read.
On a 5-Star Scale - 5 Stars!!!!!
I would like to thank the author for my copy of Her Hometown Hero. I received my copy for free in order to read it and give my honest review.
Her Hometown Hero is the third book in the Caring Canines series, however, it can be read as a stand alone book. I really enjoyed this sweet story that revolves around two people who were once in love.
Nate is pretty much the ultimate leading man. He is strong, caring, and sensitive to Kit’s needs. He is amazingly patient, but is also trying to guard his heart. Kit left him once before, choosing a career in ballet over a life with him.
Kit is a woman trying to find her way. She doesn’t know what she is going to do with her life now that the career in ballet she worked so hard for is no longer an option. She does not even know what she is capable of or if she wants to remain in the hometown she has returned to. She once loved Nate. Can she allow herself to love him again?
Great characters and a wonderful plot make for a very enjoyable story. Nate and Kit must really question what God has planned for them and what He wants for their lives. They must each let go of their fears and learn to trust in Him. Great story!
My thanks to the author, who provided a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, which I have given.
Trust is a belief in the reliability, honesty, goodness and strength of someone. Once broken it is hard to win back…Twice broken it is almost impossible to deal with that someone. The author shows that with clarity and insight you can learn to trust and forgive. But first a constant faith and direction from prayer is needed. Meet Kathleen Somer’s who built her life around her ballet career. She left her former life and boyfriend behind in Oklahoma to settle in New York. Then her ballet career comes to an abrupt halt!!! She is hit while crossing the street. Now she is back home at the Soaring S ranch and her ex-boyfriend now a veterinarian appears on the scene. The book totters between the present and past in an effortless flow. The characters are well developed with chemistry that is undeniable. Adding to the story there are many great supporting secondary characters with everyday issues to overcome. My favorite supporting character: a small poodle therapy dog who could melt a person’s heart with one lick!!! It is a truly inspiring story you will enjoy reading. The ebook was received from the author. My opinion is my own.
Her Hometown Hero from the Caring Canines Series by Margaret Daley is a heartwarming, inspirational romance with a sweet, white poodle named Lexie, who is a loving, loyal therapy dog, and she stole my heart! Kathleen (Kit) Somers’ ballet career comes to an abrupt, unplanned end after a tragic accident, and she comes home to the Soaring S Ranch to mend shutting herself off from her family and a former teenage love, local veterinarian, Dr. Nate Sterling. As Kit adjusts to her new circumstances as an amputee, her family and Nate work hard to encourage her. Kit wants nothing to do with their help instead feeling sorry for herself. As Kit works through new emotions, will she shut everyone out including Nate, who is protecting his heart? He’s been hurt by Kit once and will not allow himself to get involved with Kit again, but is Nate content to be just a friend? As with all of the books I’ve read by Margaret Daley, this is a quick read because you can’t put it down. I highly recommend this series especially for dog lovers! I was given a copy of this book by the author for my honest review and I have given it.
Amazing book not only loved the romance to it loved the idea of a therapy dog always found animals theraputic and amazing friends when your ill or something bad happens.
Her Hometown Hero by Margaret Daley Another great story by Margaret Daley. Only took two days to read it, it was hard to set it down and do necessary chores, lol. This is a wonderful story of a young lady who had her great dreams tragically destroyed, and as time goes on she comes to grips with it, by the help of a friend and her family, and others. She eventually found healing and a renewed life with newer dreams . You will have to read the book to learn all that happened in her life. Thank you Margaret for another great story. I really enjoyed reading this letter. A great story to challenge others that come across handicaps of some kind in their life. There is still hope and a life with the Lord's guidance. He is in control
I absolutely LOVED this book! Margaret Daley did an amazing job crafting characters and evoking emotion. She wrote a flawless story that was woven together with romance, faith, and healing.
Kathleen Somer's is a ballerina. She worked her whole life to be part of the New York Ballet company--and unlike many dancers who work just as hard, she actually made it. But then the unthinkable happens. Before her debut performance, a tragic accident brings a screeching halt to her career. But life goes on. But what kind of a life can there be for a one-legged ballerina in a one-horse town?
That's the question Margaret Daley answers in her book. It's a Love Inspired Romance that took just a few hours to read. I highly recommend picking up a copy and reading this one for yourself.
I love Margaret Daley’s Caring Canines series and highly recommend its latest addition, Her Hometown Hero! Full of emotion, Kit Somers's story tugged at my heartstrings. I enjoyed her inspiring recovery and rekindled romance with Dr. Nate Sterling. Her Hometown Hero is a wonderful story of hope and healing!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts expressed are my own.
Another great read from Margaret Daley. This is a touching and heartwarming story that I read in one setting because i didn't want to put it down. I loved the part that Lexie a therapy dog, played in the story. This book tells a wonderful story of how a person can overcome a tragedy and find a purpose in life and find that second chance at love. It's another book by this author that I am very glad to recommend.
Very cute little book. I could have done with a little more substance at the end, it ended very fast. Seems to be a decently accurate portrayal of an new amputee's life; however it was unclear as to whether this was an above knee or below knee amputation which frustrated the physical therapist in me a little bit:)
