Angie Shepherd is famous for finding fantastic travel destinations for her clients, offering the best culture, food, sun and sea.
Business is going swimmingly.
Until a new rival, Lorenzo, opens a travel agency opposite Angie’s beloved Mercury Travel Club. And he’s playing dirty in his bid to steal their clients.
There is nothing he won’t do to drive them out of business.
Desperate to save The Mercury Travel Club, Angie and her best friend Patty embrace their inner Thelma and Louise to test out a new road trip through beautiful Scotland. From gorgeous beaches, to luxurious lodges — even a library hidden in the woods — they’ve found the idyllic destination.
Will the highlands of Scotland be enough to save everything Angie has built? Or has The Mercury Travel Club reached the end of the road?
Helen has always loved books and always loved writing. One year she decided her New Year’s resolution would be “Write a novel to give as a Christmas present”. She spent the year writing and The Mercury Travel Club was born.
Helen hails from the North East When not writing, Helen can usually be found walking or drinking wine – not usually at the same time.
Like many people, Helen believes that the music you grow up with as a teenager stays with you for the whole of your life. Being a child of 80’s rock, when she hears the opening riff to Sweet Child of Mine, she cannot be held responsible for her actions!
The Heat Is On is the second book in the series. I read the first book and loved it. I was so excited to be back.
This time round we see Angie and the Mercury Travel club taking on a rilval travel club. Angie is back and so are her quirky fun loving friends.
Prepare for drama, relationship woes , friendship, laugh out loud moments, emotion and Witt. What more could You want from a perfect summer read?
Although this is the second book in the series you can certainly read this as a standalone. But I would recommend reading both books as the character build up in the first book makes you fall in love with them and their mishaps and mayhem.
I love Helen's writing style it's fun, engaging, and the time just flows by.
If your looking for a summer fun read, with quirky loveable characters, lots of drama and mayhem then you will absolutely love The Heat Is On!
Thank you to Love Book Group Tours for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
The Heat is On is an adorable tale that takes us back to The Mercury Travel Club and into the lives of Angie Shepherd and her gregarious gang of friends as they take on a competitor who's nefarious and ruthless and a new business endeavour that may be just beyond their reach.
The writing is witty and light. The characters are loyal, genuine, and dependable. And the plot is a splendid tale about life, love, friendship, heartfelt moments, hilarious hijinks, resilience, determination, adventures, travel, relationship woes, romance, and exotic locales.
The Heat is On is the perfect summer treat with just the right amount of humour, drama, and emotion to keep you engaged and smiling throughout, and even though it can be enjoyed as a standalone I would highly recommend you read The Mercury Travel Club first to really appreciate just how amusing and clever this series truly is.
Thank you to Helen Bridgett, RedDoor Publishing and Love Books Group for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Helen's writing style is an absolute delight—fun, engaging, and it makes time fly by.
It's witty and keeps things light. The characters feel so real and endearing, with their loyalty and genuine nature shining through. The plot is a delightful mix of life’s ups and downs, capturing love, friendship, heartfelt moments, and plenty of hilarious antics. You’ll also find themes of resilience and determination woven into adventurous travels, relationship challenges, and romance.
The road trip mentioned in the blurb isn't a major focus, but that doesn't take away from the fun of the story. Angie’s circle of friends and romantic interest are so well-developed and supportive that they make the plot immensely enjoyable. I loved getting to know these characters and following their adventures.
Although it stands strong as a standalone, I’m excited to start from the beginning of the series to deepen my love for these characters and witness their growth.
Thank you to NetGalley and Joffe Books | Choc Lit for providing this as a Read Now choice.
Now when I saw that the second Mercury Travel Club book was being released I thought yay! then oh no! because that meant that this lovely bunch of people were going to face major problems again and boy was I right! I did see how the gang were getting on at first, in fact they were looking to actually buy a hotel but things went down hill rapidly when competition moved in across the street in the form of slime ball Lorenzo. This is a super book to get you into the holiday season mood as it dangled all the fabulous places to visit on every page, unfortunately all the best deals were coming from Lorenzo’s side of the road. Yikes this was hurting them where is really hurt as faithful customers were duped every which way possible to book with wide boy Lorenzo. Angie and Charlie’s dream team were falling apart. I love the humour that Helen Bridgett brings to her novels in the form of Angie’s friends and very over the top mother who had me giggling away with outrageous scenes and cringing, in a good way at others. . As well as all the problems at work some of them are dealing with life’s little niggles too and discovering what it really important. Patty is a full of life character that really gets the stuffing knocked out of her in this story. I always felt like what was happening had that real feel about it. There are plenty of lovely moments that come together with some real shockers that made me beam. This is a super good feel read, with a beautiful end. Dare I say that I am looking forward to more? Most definitely because they always have each other! Thanks to Kelly Lacey of Love Books Group Tours for providing an e-copy of this book which I have reviewed honestly
Just the kind of book you need on a warm night outside lounging on a deck chair with a glass of something bubbly in your hand. The Mercury Travel club was a fun read and now they’re back on more travels but this time with bumps in the road. A rival travel agency has set up shop and problems ensue. That’s the simple version of the plot but thanks to Helen’s writing, there’s a lot more to enjoy and it’s the characters which shine the most. There’s some nice locations in this one and even Manchester looks sunny when the Travel club magic gets ahold. It’s a great and fun look at the travel agency industry and the types of marketing and work they do. The characters are larger than life and should have their own comedy show to be honest but that’s what I like about the book. Quite aptly, it’s an escape, both literarily and otherwise. Get onboard with this series now! Helen appeared on TheBookTrail talking about her travel research and that's an interesting story of its own! A whole lot of fun this series. Can't wait to read more.
Angie Shepherd and her wonderful, crazy friends are back in THE HEAT IS ON by Helen Bridgett and boy did I miss them!
After all that has happened to her over the past few years, Angie Shepherd's life is finally back on track with a successful career that she loves, friends that are worth cherishing, a new home on the horizon, and a lovely man to cuddle up with. Things are finally on the up. That is until they aren't. When a new travel agency opens their doors across the road from Mercury Travel, Angie, Charlie and the gang hope for the best, but they hadn't bet on Lorenzo to be so hostile and as their sales plummet, they really need to do something fast before it shatters their new business venture to smithereens. Throw in relationship woes in the form of insecurities and intimacy issues, some crazy shenanigans, and a mother who isn't backward in coming forwards, and Angie definitely has her hands full. But with the help of those who love her, will they be able to steer their way back to happiness and success?
As with her previous novel, Helen Bridgett has such a flair with her narrative that you instantly feel like part of the gang and you cannot wait to turn the next page. There are moments of pure laughter, fun, and drama, while all the while you will fall even more in love with these loveable characters. While you can certainly read THE HEAT IS ON as a standalone novel, why read one fabulous book when you can read two (The Mercury Travel Club)??
THE HEAT IS ON by Helen Bridgett is compelling, hilarious, hopeful, and just a perfect read for this Summer and I highly recommend it!!
*I voluntarily reviewed this book from the tour organiser
The Mercury Travel Club are back with even more shenanigans as a rival travel agency opens up across the road. They offer deep discounts and modern technology. Can our cast of characters hold on to their business?
This is a fun filled story of friendship, loyalty, dating perils and life in general. I would have loved more of Angie's mum and her penchant for freebies.
Angie is co owner of the Mercury Travel Club and the business is going well, they are thinking of expanding into an island resort when a rival firm moves in right opposite and starts undercutting them......... will they be able to survive?
A great follow on to the Mercury Travel Club and great to be back with Angie and Patty again.... Lovely beach read perfect for the summer
This is the second book in this series, it see’s the return of Angie and her band of co-workers Charles and Josie, her larger than life friend Patty with their various partners. The arrival and opening of a rival shop causes some moments of panic as the new owner uses less than friendly tactics to lure in customers.
I was so glad to see the return of this totally mad cap bunch, they are a fun and caring group that put their customers first. Although this could be read as a stand alone you will get a much better idea of what makes the characters tick if you read in order.
The cast come back in a full of beans style, especially Patty, she is an absolute howl a minute with her inappropriate comments, well they are not so much inappropriate more just the way she says what is on her mind and definitely without a filter.
The story focuses on the new ideas the travel agency has to come up with as they try to compete with an ultra modern rival shop. But also in with that are a couple of stories that deal Patty and Charlie’s personal lives and complement the main plot very nicely.
This is a book I spent the afternoon reading outside in the sunshine. There are some more serious plots in the story but most of the time I was reading this with a big grin on my face with the occasional shocking moment, and the odd lump in my throat, and yeah I admit the odd tear.
A fabulous book for whiling away the afternoon with and one that I would definitely recommend to readers of women’s or general fiction with humorous undertones.
I really enjoyed these 3 books and hope there will be more. The characters are relatable and so are the situations, it was a funny, sad and uplifting read that was thoroughly enjoyable.
The Blurb : The sequel to The Mercury Club sees Angie successfully running the business with Charlie and Patty. She is in a relationship with Michael and everything is going well. Charlie returns from a Caribbean holiday with exciting plans to take over a hotel out there - a new but risky venture for Mercury. It all seems perfectly possible, until a rival travel club opens up over the road, and threatens their livelihood and the future of the business. Launch is run by Lorenzo, a smarmy young man who does his best to win them over - only to double cross and cheat Mercury Travel out of their customers. With Lorenzo undercutting them at every step, Mercury must up their game if the business is to survive. Whilst this is going on they continue their plans to take over the Caribbean hotel and Michael goes out to renovate and restore it. Mercury plan new trips to Amsterdam, The Orient Express and Scotland. Along the way, Launch suddenly folds and Lorenzo disappears (along with his customers' money) - he even takes Angie's precious Entrepreneur of the Year fountain pen. The Mercury team support those who have lost their holidays and work hard to win back their customers. On a final reccy trip to Scotland, Angie stumbles across Lorenzo in a pub. She confronts him, and with a little help, he is arrested and made to return her precious pen. The book concludes with all the main characters in the renovated Caribbean hotel - it is finally ready to open and Patty has a surprise beach wedding, watched on the Internet by their loyal Mercury customers.
My Thoughts : Having loved reading book 1 The Mercury Travel Club, I couldnt wait to get started on the The Sequel. I loved the charactors in the first book so I was pleased they were making a long awaited return and I was not disappointed. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading book 1 first so you get a feel for the story and the great charactors. Just as things seem to be going well for Angie and the gang, across the road from the Travel shop appears to be a new Travel Agency going by the name of Launch. Lorenzo, is the new owner and is as slimy as a Snake and as he plans to destroy their wonderful shop who better to help save it than help from the great Patty. No one messes with her or her friends. They need to come up with new ideas to draw people back in, and quick. There is no way Launch is going to take their customers. We also touch upon life with boyfriend Michael and Co worker Charlie which just adds to the story. Helen Bridgett, once again draws you into the story and you feel like your reading about friends. Its well paced, funny, full of drama and will leave you smiling right to the very end.
In this follow up to The Mercury Travel Club we rejoin Angie and friends at the point where the sky's the limit for their quirky little Manchester based travel agency. The award winning travel agency is firmly established in the high street and they have plans to invest in a luxury hotel in an exclusive resort. It seems like everything is going right until the vacant shop across the road is revealed as 'Launch', another travel agency and the high street is only big enough for one of them.
Launch's owner, Lorenzo, is described brilliantly by Helen Bridgett as a snake in the grass who slithers along the high street wearing his snakeskin belt. Obviously, I was on Team Mercury but with this brilliant snake theme the reader is under no illusion that Lorenzo is a typical cartoon style bad guy. I even found myself imagining him as Dick Dastardly. His underhand dealings threaten to put Mercury out of business but Angie's colleagues and friends rally round to play him at his own game. With customers and even staff moving over to Launch, is it too late to save Mercury? Time to bring in the big guns: Patty!
I absolutely love Angie's friend, Patty. She reminds me so much of Patsy in Absolutely Fabulous, but now Patty has a new man in her life she is ready to settle down again. There are still hints of the hilarious Patty we know and love, especially in the dating advice she gives Angie. I couldn't help but laugh out loud at some of the things she comes out with but it was lovely to see another side to Patty as she shows what she's made of when the chips are down.
After working so hard for her business, Angie deserves a bit of happiness in her private life and she's met a lovely man in Michael. With Lorenzo's plans to destroy Angie's business in full force, Angie's relationship with Michael also comes under threat. I felt as if Angie's world could fall around her at any moment...but not if her friends have any say in the matter it won't. I love how close these guys are; they aren't just colleagues and business partners, they're a family and a force to be reckoned with in the fight against snaky Lorenzo.
The Heat is On had me laughing one minute and seething the next. It felt very much like a fight between good and evil and even typing the name 'Lorenzo' is enough to make my skin crawl and my blood boil. One thought remained constant whilst I was reading: if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. It's frightening but true, how quickly we can switch our allegiance when offered a shiny new 'too good to be true' deal but don't forget that you often get what you pay for...and here's one especially for Lorenzo: what goes around comes around.
I chose to read an ARC and this is my honest and unbiased opinion.
I was a big fan of the first outing for The Mercury Travel Club, so I couldn't wait to get back to Angie, Patty and co. As with most books in a series, it took me just a little bit of time to remind myself who everyone was and what had happened before but I was soon settled in and loving being back with these engaging characters.
So, Angie and Charlie are running their travel business and doing a grand job of it with the help of Josie, who comes up with all sorts of ways of getting people signed up for their trips. Angie's relationship with Michael is bobbing along ok and Patty, Angie's slightly mad best friend, is with Jack. All is well until, that is, a new travel agency, filled with technology and delights to entice any customer, comes along and opens up bang opposite Mercury.
I really felt for Angie. She'd put her all into Mercury and is devastated to think that she might lose it. Heck, I was devastated for her! But I loved all the ways she, Charlie and everyone else, came up with to try and keep their beloved business going. I won't say whether it works or not but let's just say that all was concluded satisfactorily. I said in my review for The Mercury Travel Club that Helen Bridgett ought to go into business herself with her wonderful ideas and I stand by that as once again she's come up with some corkers. I'd love to go on one of the trips myself, especially the treasure trail.
There are a cast of characters that really work here and I'd be very happy to read more about them in the future. Some are wacky (Patty and Angie's mum in particular), some are kind (Jack and Michael), some put their all into whatever they do (Angie and Charlie), but all are fabulously well-rounded individuals who add their own special something to the story.
The Heat is On made me smile a lot. It's warm, it's feel-good, it's fun, even riotously so at times. It's about comradeship, finding love and starting all over again. Helen Bridgett's stories are an absolute pleasure to read. I do hope we'll meet Angie and co again in more Mercury adventures.
The Heat is On is the sequel to The Mercury Travel Club. Now I haven't read The Mercury Travel Club, but this was not a problem as the author has woven enough information into this story for the reader to understand the important points from the first book. The Heat is On follows Angie and her good friends Patty and Charlie as her beloved travel agency faces stiff competition from a rival opening just across the road. They need to find a new unique selling point, a new 'next big thing' if they are to have any chance of surviving.
The book is full of slightly scatty characters who I certainly was rooting for throughout the story, both in their professional and private lives. It was great to see that these were some older characters featuring in a book, showing that life is still to be enjoyed even if you aren't in the first flush of youth. And these characters certainly knew how to enjoy themselves through ups and down, providing more than a few laughs along the way! The value of good friends offering love and support through good times and bad was heart-warming.
A light and entertaining read, this would be perfect to while away a few hours by the pool and is sure to leave you smiling.
This is a really funny book filled with fun, friendship and the trials of relationships and life in general. The High Life is the third book in The Mercury Travel Club Series. I have to say this is the first book I have read, but thoroughly enjoyed it, although I am sure I have missed some of the background of the characters.
Angie Shepherd is famous for finding fantastic travel destinations for her clients, offering the best culture, food, sun and sea. In this book her and her best friend Patty hit the road Thelma and Louise style on a road trip to Scotland. This book is full of laugh out loud moments and I found myself snoring at the ladies shenanigans. This book is the perfect summer read and I will definitely be recapping on the previous two books.
Thank you to NetGalley and Choc Lit Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Funny, fun, feel good fun. This book has it all and more and I for one thoroughly enjoyed it. Perfect for those long summer days and holidays in the sun. Light hearted and romantic this book has it all.
This is the second book I have read by this author and I loved them both!
This is a witty book that is well written, well paced with an excellent flow and really funny characters. Angie is hilarious and I loved her.
This really is an excellent book, it picked me up when I was down and left me with a smile on my face! I really hope we get to read more about Angie and her exploits with The Mercury Travel Club – very highly recommended!!
Five stars from me, a genuinely funny, upbeat read that had me both laughing out loud and tittering away quietly!
Mercury Travel has successfully been selling holidays for many years ran by Charlie, Patty and Angie. Holidays not for the masses but for discerning clients wanting that something a little bit different. When Charlie visit a resort and see the uniqueness of it and a business opportunity presents itself, it appears that Mercury could have a buy in to an extended part of their business. The trouble is that a rival has opened his doors across the road and is being rather underhand about how he is getting his business. Mercury believes that there is enough trade for all of them but when their ideas are poached things get a little tricky, Add to this a new relationship and a house move and Angie rather has her hands full. This is the sequel to the Mercury club (but would stand alone). This would be a wonderful holiday book whether at home or away. A nice easy read with a good story line and larger than life characters. An uplifting read to make you smile. The wonderful middle aged ladies Angie and Patty, along with their best friend Charlie are back to add some sparkle to the summer. Angie and Charlie are running their successful travel agency, the Mercury Travel Club, their friend Patty has just returned from performing on cruise ships and all three are in new relationships.
Angie has bought her first home since her divorce; her daughter Zoe is living in New York and she has a wonderful new man in her life. She has won a local Business Entrepreneur Award and the travel agency has been going from strength to strength. Life is good! But this is all to change when Lorenzo enters their world with his new brand of travel agency that he opens in a shop directly opposite The Mercury Travel Club. Suddenly the friends find themselves desperately fighting for their business as they are undercut and thwarted at every turn by the devious Lorenzo – can they find ways to remain one step ahead with innovative and fun ideas, to maintain their loyal customer base and to woo new clients?
A unique opportunity presents itself in the shape of a beautiful island retreat, which could give the friends the USP that they need for the survival of the Mercury Travel Club. Add maintaining their personal relationships and growing new ones into the mix – what could possibly go wrong?
This is the second book in the series, and whilst I always recommend reading a series from the start, The Heat is On can definitely be read as a stand-alone – there really is enough explanation to understand the back stories. The antics of the pals make this the perfect light, romantic comedy to pack in your suitcase and read on the beach! The book is fun, witty and easy to read – maybe not a great literary novel, but certainly a very enjoyable one!
Angie, Patty and Charlie are funny, lovable and in possession of real human traits. For me some of their most endearing qualities are those that are reflective of real life and not some magazine styled ideal – failed relationships, insecurities, less than perfect bodies, inability to cook, embarrassing parents, turbulent love lives and a love of life. They show that it is possible to be middle aged and still have a sense of adventure and joie de vivre. The friends are loyal, protective and love each other – this gives the book a real feel good factor.
The characters are funny, scatty and seem to invite disaster at every turn. But they are also lovable, believable and it felt joyful to be a part of their story. I love a well written classic piece of literature, but I equally love a well written, contemporary, light hearted tale and would definitely describe this book in this category. Angie is a great character and I can easily both laugh with her and cry with her – this woman has soul! Patty is larger than life and just makes me smile every time she enters the room. Charlie provides the balance to his female friends – the voice of reason yet also passionate and driven. Perhaps my favourite character is Angie’s mum – so funny and always there at just the wrong moment to make an entrance.
A joy to read, this is a light hearted, romantic comedy that doesn’t pretend to be anything else – a perfect, unpretentious read for the summer! 4 stars With thanks to Kelly at LoveBooksGroup for including me on this blog tour.
This is a second book of a series. I hadn't't read the first book but enjoyed this as a stand-alone book.
Angie is one of the partners of a successful travel agency- Mercury Travel. They accompany their customers on their travels and have enjoyed every success. They are about to enter into a financial arrangement with the bank to run an island resort which will offer weddings and special events. All is going well until a new travel agency- Launch- sets up virtually opposite. Launch is undercutting everything that Mercury are doing, forcing them to make huge reductions and putting their plans in jeopardy. Eventually, the deal goes ahead because a new investor is found. All is not what it seems with the rival travel agency, either.
A good read. Enjoyable and fun. Thank you to net galley for giving me the opportunity to make an honest review.
The Heat is On is a warm and exotic story of self belief, trusting your instincts and learning to love again. Angie is a Middle aged lady who Co-owns a travel agency. When another business comes to town and threatens her livelihood Angie and her team must do what it takes to fight back. Meanwhile Angie is dipping her toe in the pond of dating and has to face some realities of dealing with her past to move on with her future. This is heartwarming read. I had not read the previous book in the series but didn’t feel I had to to understand the plot. The author has made it a seamless read if you haven’t already read The Mercury Travel Club. Saying that…I want to go back and read the first book now.
Perfect summer vacation any time read.Second in a series but can be read alone.Swept me away from the first pages a novel full of charm love wonderful characters so. Well written.Highly recommend .Thanks#netgalley

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Joffe Books | Choc Lit, and the author, Helen Bridgett, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.
I’ll say it again. I wish the Mercury Travel Club was a real thing. And their business-saving idea of a “treasure trail” mystery trip is just the icing on the cake! Also, I learned about Formentera, which is now on my travel bucket list.
In this installment, Patty is done performing on cruise ships, as her ship’s doctor boyfriend is taking up a land based position. When she wants to help out in the travel agency, Angie isn’t sure, but things turn out very well for everyone!
Watching what the characters go through when the new travel shop opens across the street is hard. No matter what they do, they just can’t catch a break. It almost ruins Angie’s relationship with Michael. In an astounding turn—they actually communicate with each other! I will admit, I figured out the twist a few chapters before it actually happened.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Possible Objectionable Material: Lots of innuendo, a few curse words. LGBT+ characters. Drinking, sometimes to the point of getting drunk. Infidelity. Unmarried sex.
Who Might Like These Books: Those who like stories about women over 50 taking charge of their lives. Those who like travel.
This is the third in a series and I could follow along but would recommend reading the previous books as it will get you more background as well as the nuance’s of the characters. Angie, the narrator and lead character, is part owner of the Mercury Travel Club and the story revolves around her business and love life, her colleagues at the agency, her family, a diabolical competitor, and Patty, Angie's BFF since their flight attendant days in their youth. For me, the nuts and bolts stuff on running the agency took up too much of the story. Angie Shepherd’s thriving travel business faces a serious threat when a new rival, Lorenzo, opens a competing agency across the street and plays dirty to steal her clients. Changes in romance, work, life & family. However I just could not connect to these characters, that is why I recommend reading the previous two books in the series you might gain more information to connect. Desperate to save her club, Angie and her best friend Patty embark on a road trip through Scotland, discovering stunning beaches, luxurious lodges, and hidden gems like a library in the woods. This struck me as more in the women's fiction genre than romance. Their adventure might uncover the perfect destination to save Angie’s business. 3.5 rounded up Thank you to the publisher Joffe, the author and Netgalley for the opportunity.
This book is now available and is the 3rd in the Mercury Travel series.
Thank you to NetGalley, Helen Bridgett, Joffe Books @joffebooks , and Choc Lit Publishing @choclituk for this e-book in exchange for an honest review.
"I'm back" my best and oldest friend Patty blasted into the Mercury Travel shop like a rockstar exploding onto a stage amid dry ice and pyrotechnics. This is how the book opens. This was an honest laugh out loud read with funny references like working as a funeral home entertainer singer Knocking on Heavens Door and Don't Fear the Reaper. Or when talking about dating getting vajazzled before being intimate. This is an adult romance that just pulls you in from the start and will have you wanting to buy the whole series. It was so good that I read it in one sitting. Her writing is so descriptive that you can easily picture this book coming to life.
This book has it all: 💠 Second chance romance 💠 Starting over in life 💠 Rom-com 💠 Women's fiction
💠 If you enjoy Jenny Colgan or Carolyn James you will love this book!
This is the third book in the Mercury Travel Club series, and I'm pleased to report that I enjoyed it just as much as the previous two. This time, a new travel agent opens his shop across the street from Mercury, creating trouble. Cursing that character to all kinds of hell every time he did something that threatened Mercury, its owners and their employee probably contributed to my enjoyment of the story as much as catching up with everyone we met earlier in the series and finding out what new ideas they'd have to save the business.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Angie and Charlie's travel agency, The Mercury Travel Club, is flourishing when another agency opens in the road right opposite them. The new agency is run by smarmy Lorenzo who begins by offering unbelievable holiday discounts. There's no way our friends can compete with Lorenzo's cut price war, they need to find a brilliant idea to keep their customers or they'll become another small business casualty.
Light entertainment for the summer, the best character in the book was Angie's mother, with her constant search for Freebies.
eARC generously supplied by Joffe Books/Choc-Lit and BookFunnel this review is my personal, unbiased opinion.
A welcome return to the Mercury Travel Club. A unique travel agency which goes above and beyond to organise holidays with a difference. Things are going well for Angie and Charlie, her friend and business partner, and they are thinking of expanding but then they find out another travel agency is opening up right opposite their premises and the new owner is not prepared to play nicely. It is up to Angie and Charlie, with the help of assistant Josie and friend Patty to find ways to save the business. Despite the problems there are always some laugh out loud moments when everyone gets together and plots to get the better of their new arrival.
