The elimination of a Calamity isn’t as beneficial as one might think…
After the frightening experience involved in closing the northwestern Calamity and rescuing his friend, Larek and his companions discover that not everyone is happy about what they accomplished. Forces behind the scenes have made life difficult for the “conquering heroes”, so much so that they are forced to quickly flee the area while they continue their search for Norde.
Unfortunately, once they arrive near the southeastern Calamity where Nedira’s younger brother is supposed to be, they encounter a situation that could lead to the downfall of the region, the Kingdom, and perhaps even the entire world. Larek’s unique skills are able to solve some the more immediate problems, though this is only a temporary fix. A more widespread solution is needed to save as many people as possible; a solution which the Factions and the SIC have failed to provide, but Larek believes might be achievable with the help of his Fusions.
At the same time, the powerful Fusionist also discovers something about Corrupted Aetheric Force that could be the key to success. In other words, the gradual suffusion of Corruption throughout the world might not be the disaster he once thought, but instead a boon upon which could lead to the survival of everyone….
This weak-to-strong MC story contains LitRPG elements such as character progression and statistics, as well as a heavy crafting emphasis. No explicit sexual content or harems.
In the 6th book, Larek continues to develop his new Fusions and try to save the world. Events in the book are becoming increasingly tense and changing Larek into a powerful public person.
After closing one of the Calamities in the previous book, Larek finds himself on the list of more hated people in the Kingdom. Who is behind the rumours that closing Calamities is a bad thing? And why it happened?
The search for Nedira's brother brings Larek and his friends to the South where a new mind-controlling bug spreads around a Calamity. Can it destroy the world or help to rebuild it?
And where are the Gergasi who are supposed to protect the Kingdom?
I was waiting for the 6th book to be printed and bought it on the same day. And I am happy that this book is even better than the previous ones. I LOVE this series!
And now I will wait for the next book to be published in December.
Good book. Good story. Like the action. But I find myself skimming through all the details about how he makes the fusions. The fact the author can describe these details is great but I think he can use his imagination towards other things. I like the fact that the MC isn’t being a doormat anymore and is way more assertive. I’m looking forward to reading the next book
Larek has saved some of his friends. He has even closed one of the Calamities. However , that very fact is being used against him as he keeps searching for the rest of his friends. He will need to work even harder to find the rest of them.
The recap chapter and having the stats are their own mini chapters have been very helpful. The new fusions that get made are a great use of strategy. I really enjoyed seeing it all come together in the last few chapters. It looks like it is ramping up to a close soon. Miles Meili does fantastic narrating.
Laric now has two of his friends and is seeking his family. He finds two more friends and decides the best way to help his family is to gather allies. He makes fusions to free people from dominion magic and mind control bugs. He finds two more friends and discovers a way to turn everyone into guardians. And he encounters and defeats one of the big bads. Book ends
A fun installment but not a standalone novel. Good pace, the world grows, the magic system expands, and the narrator is awesome. Please enjoy
Can't get enough of this series. Unfortunately, I'm reading them as they come out so I always have a little bit of a wait but it's worth it. As if Larek the MC wasn't doing enough. He now is introducing things that will change the face of their world. Exciting times can't wait for the next book.
The politics in this book were not believable to me. All the bad guys were violently stupid (and said exactly what they thought) and people were persuaded to do things way too easily.
Magic system continued to be cool and the ending was great.
I'll finish the series, but I've lowered my expectations for this author writing nuances in any of the characters.
I really enjoyed reading all the books - didn't leave comments because I couldn't wait to read the other books - awesome story and characters - can be a little wordy but great story looking forward to final book
The story just keeps getting better and better. Larak’s ability to analyze and learn from the battles and experiments is amazing. The death of Chinily really takes this plot to new levels.
This series of an enchanter was a very interesting entertaining read that I really enjoyed reading. He was really naive but he’s growing up nicely now.
I loved how Larek took care of his friends and the people of the kingdom when no one else would. The best part to me was the battle with the mind bugs and how Larek thought of a way out without killing them. He is a man of peace fighting only when he has to. The final battle was awesome for the people, but not for the giant.
