Chris achieved and accomplished things that nobody thought were attainable. He persevered through cerebral palsy and learned that God had a purpose for him. Chris realized he had to surrender his disability and chains over to Jesus to have freedom in Christ.
Full disclosure - the author is a friend of mine and one of my mentors in life. I've known him and his remarkable family for 40 years and followed many of his life adventures described in this book. Love his openness, his honesty, his questions and his perseverance. As a parent of an adult with cerebral palsy 10 years younger than Chris, he paved the way in schools and in the community for us. His family's view on inclusion was just do it - include him as you include all others - just make it work. The opportunities afforded to him didn't just happen and the road was not always straight. Huge credit to his parents for teaching the importance of faith, living by example and fostering the personality and drive that Chris has always had. Meet Chris, remember Chris, learn from Chris.
Beautifully written memoir showcasing Chris' relationship with God throughout his life. As a special education teacher, it was very interesting seeing how special education has changed over 50 years. I go to City Hope GR: A Church of All Abilities that Chris preaches at semi-regularly.
