Born and raised in Northern Indiana, Krista now resides in Northern Lower Michigan. (apparently she wasn't getting enough snow in Indiana:)) She is married to a very supportive man, Chip, who allows her to follow her true passion of writing and never complains when she is pirated away on her computer for hours. He even helps with proof-reading and is her “in-house” editor and her idea sounding board. She is also a mother of 4 ornery children who keep her plenty busy. With an addition of 2 beautiful chocolate lab sisters and 2 playful cats, there is never a dull or spare moment in her household.
Krista has always loved to read and would often sit up for hours into the night not able to put down a book until she was finished. She still reads when she can but her main focus is creating her own stories to share with the world.
Muito fraquinha a história. O cara vai embora sem explicação e após 5 anos de ausência eles se reencontram... ele explica, ela aceita e tudo termina bem... Nada de extraordinário acontece. ---------------- Very weak story. The guy takes off without explanation and after 5 years of absence they reunite ... He explains, she accepts, and all ends well. Nothing extraordinary happens.
The story is about Nick and Dana, who were together for one glorious year in college until all of a sudden Nick leaves without a goodbye or explanation. Years later, they are reunited and the sparks fly again. Dana knows the damage Nick caused her last time and is wary about getting involved again. When Nick finally gives his reasons for walking away all those years ago, will she be able to forgive time and give him the second chance they both desperately want?
If you’re looking for a quick, simple read, then Second Nature by Krista Ames is the book for you. It’s an easy read with a cute story about second chances. For a novella, it has a pretty decent storyline. I can honestly say, I didn’t “fall in love” with any of the characters, and I think that was simply because the story was so short, it didn’t give me a chance to really get invested in the characters. With easy, dialogue and a short, sweet plot, it’s a great book to read if you’ve got an hour or two to simply read.
I downloaded a copy of this book because the synopsis sounded pretty good, but I didn't realize it was such a short story. Nevertheless, the book had a lot of potential. I'm a sucker for romance stories and thankfully this one was. I really wish it would have been longer because they story and the characters weren't developed enough. We needed more background and story; the characters apparently dated a short time in college and Nick disappeared without a word to Dana. Then five years later, they see each other again, jump into bed and are talking about marriage less than a week later. It all seemed super fast to me, and it could have been developed a little better if it were longer. Like I said, good story and had a lot of potential, just needs to be worked out more.
Although the events occurred within a quick time frame, this reunion story contained lots of emotion and a love scene. Within only a few paragraphs, Ms. Ames established characters I could empathize with and rooted for them to get their second chance at a lasting love.
