Hedge witch Ellie has someone threatening her livelihood (and her beautiful plants) and the only investigator available at Monsters, PI is the ogre she was once engaged to. The one she hasn't spoken to since things turned sour in their relationship.
As it turns out, both she and Thain are laboring under some not-so-great misconceptions about the thing that happened that broke them up. Also as it turns out, the time apart has not dulled their attraction to one another. On top of that, Thain doesn't like that someone is vandalizing Ellie's business and threatening her. Let's just say their interactions are charged on a lot of levels and it doesn't take long before the truth comes out and the potential for continuing their previous relationship is very much in the cards.
Frenemies, angry former employees, a disapproving grandmother, a sign-waving almost-mob, a pup with good intuition, an ogre who has never stopped loving his sexy hedge witch, and a lady who has to sort through what she believed happened all those years ago to get to the truth of the matter. *thumbs up*

Alas I have come to the end of this wonderfully charming, cozy mystery series that features some pretty darn cute monsters. This book being no exception, because it features not only all of the above but a second chance romance with an enemies to lovers twist as well which I absolutely loved. Yep it hit all the right spots for me and was a great way to end the series, and of course the HEA had me smiling at the end. I do love how Ms Ross blends the romance with mystery upping the stakes and suspects to really keep you guessing until the end, while not letting the spice overwhelm the plot of the story. Again the authors humour really shone through in this book and had me chuckling out loud on more than one occasion. Yes I'll definitely miss the characters from Mystic Harbour but seeing as they will be on my re-read list, I won't miss them too much...

Ellie is definitely a witch after my own heart, feisty, strong and kind she doesn't back down from a fight. Especially, when it comes to messing with her business. Not being on the best of terms with the witch community apart from her grandmother, after what happened between her and Thain, she's become fiercely independent and wants nothing more than to make her customers happy. But it was when she started to realise that the circumstances behind her break up isn't what it seems, and her willingness to take a risk was what really had me loving her.
Thain a big burly ogre with a heart of absolute gold, is a total sweetheart. Yes, he was left heartbroken by his past with Ellie but does that stop him from taking on her case, nope! If anything it makes him determined to help her along with the fact he wants to get to the bottom of what happened between the two of them. I found it adorable that this giant of an ogre had a cute little dog called Crouton, who at times stole the show for me. Yes, this cinnamon roll stole my heart and I'm still happily swooning over him....
I'll be looking out for more books by this author as she has enchanted me with her writing and of course sweet characters. So if you like cozy romance with monsters who'll steal your heart, mystery that'll keep you guessing and a dash of spice these are for you. Totally recommend 😁

Ellie is amazing! She’s kind, compassionate, caring and so fierce. Even more, Ellie is a talented hedge witch who’s not only good with plants, but cares for them with such love and devotion. And I really liked that even when things don’t go well for her, she is not a woman who’d give up easily and is always ready to face any challenges and hardships thrown her way. Ellie is a wonderful woman and I loved her so, so much!
Thain is a former agent from the ogre version of the CIA and now a detective in Monsters, PI. He’s one big, strong, fearsome, resourceful and observant male. And he’s really good at his job. Even more, he’s so charming, fun, sweet, considerate, patient and fiercely protective. Thain is one incredible and irresistible male and I adored everything about him!
I absolutely loved everything that happened between Ellie and Thain! Betrayal broke Ellie and Thain’s engagement years ago, but neither of them had gotten over the other. Now, someone is trying to sabotage Ellie’s business and she seeks the help of Monsters, PI. Imagine her dismay, when the detective taking her case was no other than her ex. I just loved those two together! Their chemistry was electric right from the start, but the past has left its mark on both of them. I really enjoyed the tension between the two. Nevertheless, Ellie and Thain made such an awesome team, working together to solve Ellie’s case. But, when the truth of what happened then finally came to light, all bets were off and both Thain and Ellie were willing to give their relationship a second chance. And when they finally gave into the undeniable desire, the passionate moments they shared were so hot! Ellie and Thain were so perfect for each other and absolutely deserved a second chance at happiness and love.
In addition, the storyline was fantastic! The mystery, the suspense, the growing list of suspects and the unexpected turns of events kept me glued to the pages till the very end, excited to discover how everything will be resolved. And, of course, I should also mention Crouton - that pup was both fierce and truly adorable!
Overall, Ogre on Patrol is a sweet, cozy, suspenseful and naughty story and a fantastic series finale.

I am sad to say this is the last Monsters, PI book..at least for now. I have loved them all. Ogre On Patrol fits perfectly in the set. Ellie is a hedge witch in Mystic Harbor. She has a thriving small business growing and selling magic plants..until someone starts sabotaging her business and her life. The human Sheriff is a good man but he doesn't really understand the magical community so Ellie goes to Monsters, PI to get help. There she runs into her ex-fiance who is the only one available to take her case. It was so refreshing to have an ex that wasn't a jerk, even in the beginning! Thain is sweet and kind even while he had been hurt by Ellie. And while Ellie has a couple of moments of snark she isn't a jerk to him even while believing he betrayed her. Together (with th cuddly help of Thain's terrier Crouton) they get to the bottom of who and why! They also get to the bottom of what happened in the past. This is such a well written cozy mystery. The characters are warm and likeable. The story is involving and, well, cozy. I ended up reading it in one sitting. It has steam, adventure, romance and an awesome dog. So pretty much everything a good story needs.

I loved this monster-witch cozy mystery romance with a side of second chance. It was swoony and spicy with the just right amount of feelings and mystery. I am loving this warm, cozy and happy series. It is quickly become one of my favorites. Thain is an ogre who works at Monsters, PI. Ellie is a hedge witch. When he greenhouses and her magical plants are vandalized, she hires Monsters, PI to help her and Thain is assigned to her case. Ellie and Thain were once engaged but it ended badly and neither one has moved on. To get their interrupted HEA back on track and discover who is targeting Ellie, they’ll need to do some baggage unpacking and truth telling while investigating and fighting off rumors, angry townspeople, and magical attacks. This well written story included engaging dialogue, three dimensional characters, and an engaging storyline. I love this series.

This is the 5th book in the series and is a much stronger and more intense story. Ellie is a plant witch whose greenhouse was destroyed by vandalism. It was the second time and after calling the police knew she'd have to hire somebody to help her. She went to Monsters, Inc. and ended up with Thain, whom she had once been engaged to. He broke her trust and she didn't want anything to do with him, but he was the only one available so she was stuck with him.
Thain worked on solving the mystery and winning Ellie back. There were many things that happened to Ellie that had to be cleaned up before the two could solve their problems. It was interesting to learn who the troublemakers were and how everything was taken care of by the end of the story. Ms. Ross suggested this might be the last book in the series, but I hope not.

Ellie, a hedge witch is being harassed, greenhouse destroyed, shelves knocked over, and the police can’t find out what’s happening so she goes to Monster PI.
Unfortunately, the only agent available is Thain, her ex-boyfriend who she broke up with years ago. They have no choice but to work together.
As the harassment grows and threatens, the major attraction between the two of them keeps growing.
There is good mystery, about who and why these things are happening. There are ex employees, supposed best friends, competitors, and a mysterious witch. In other words, a multitude of suspects.
This is a fun read, definitely steamy, but the story isn’t lost in the romance.
I think I’ll be reading more by this author.

This little monster town keeps getting better; I love it even more each time I read about each new couple. This book managed to really pull me in; the mystery, suspense, magical side we got to see, and of course, the romance we see blossom was just delicious to read. Ellie and Thain may have started off rocky at first, but I'm glad we got to read about their journey. The ir feelings were truly honest, and they were made for each other. Trust me, the hurdles Ellie had to jump through were troublesome, but I'm so glad Thain was there to help her. Like I said, there was a bit of mystery to this book, I want to say more, but my lips are sealed....hehehe. Although, I will say I devoured this book in one sitting, and it's a must-read.

This was a real second chance romance between Thain, an Ogre and Ellie, a hedge witch. Betrayal broke their engagement years ago but neither stopped loving the other. When malicious sabotage threatens Elle’s business she has no choice but to hire Monsters, PI. Urn to her dismay, the Ogre who broke her heart is assigned to her case. As the two work to discover whose trying to ruin her business secrets are revealed as their love reignites and the enemy gets bolder. Hot and oh so steamy! It was a awesome story and I didn’t want it to end. Thain was so hunky! I loved it! I received an Arc but my review is voluntary.

This was another wonderful addition to the series and I loved seeing Ogre, Thain, and Hedge Witch, Ellie, find their way back together again. These two split because of betrayal but now she needs help to save her business. Of course, you know it's Thain that gets assigned her case, much to her dismay ;) These two never stopped loving each other and I was thrilled that they got their chance at the HEA they deserve. Expect the mystery, danger and hot romance to keep you glued to your reader as they work to find out who the baddie is and get their happy ending :D

I love these stories; you get a cozy romance mystery with monsters. It's always fun to see how Ross puts these stories together. I love that this one was a second chance romance and allowed our couple to find each other again. Plus we always love a cute dog who is basically its own side character. This couple was meant to be together due to a bonding between witches and ogres to strengthen their races, but it was nice to see that though they were chosen to be together, they could still develop a meaningful relationship.

Omg this was definitely a suspenseful read. There's nothing like going out with a bang. I can't believe this is the last PI story....well for now at least.
This is such a sweet story about second chances. Fate stepping in and most of all retribution.
A story where you wonder, who dunnit. A story that leaves you all warm inside. A story with a HEA 💜🔥
The characters and storyline keep you riveted to your seat.

Ellie, a hedge witch, is experiencing vandalism at her greenhouse. The police haven't really helped so she turns to Monsters, PI. Her assigned detective is Thain, an ogre and her former fiancé. This is a great read filled with mystery, magic, love, a cute dog and an even cuter, scary grandmother. Loved how Ellie and Thain were together and how they were able to work through the issues without drama. Great read, great series!!!!!!

Book 6 of Ava Ross’s Monsters, PI, series is Ogre on Patrol, a wonderful ending to the series. This time witch Ellie has vandalism done to her magical plants and greenhouse. Enter ex-fiancé ogre Thain who works for Monsters, PI. Not only do the two find the culprit, a jealous citizen, but they also discover who had interfered in their relationship, causing their break up. All is resolved in the end so love wins!

A cozy monster mystery in Mystic Harbor that gives us so many other friends to catch up on. Ava has given us a story that is full of reconnecting, danger, magic, mystery and just the right amount of steam. As Thain and Ellie kiss- this line really resonated.

I truly hope this is not the last story of Mystic Harbor but it has been a wonderful series to read and reread.

Loved it!
Ellie hires Thain from Monsters PI to find out who is sabotaging her greenhouses and therefore her business. But they were a couple years ago and truths and lies have a way of coming out and what happens after that is magic. Loved the story, the mystery, the characters and the spice. I want more Monsters, PI books so I really hope this wasn't the last one. They are all good and I recommend reading them all.

I wanted more violence!
Ellie and all the drama was amazing. Everyone turning on everyone... no one's above suspicion.
The rune and grannies fainting. When she showed up with the councilman.... were they together already? Maybe grannie needs a story. What do they say about snow on the roof but fire in the oven?!.
The ending with a look at everyone else's life and progress was appreciated.

Ogre on Patrol by Ava Ross is the 5th story in the Monsters, PI series. This is a cozy mystery with HEA and more than a little magic sprinkled in. Both Thain and Ellie and sweet and lovely and the story is captivating. I believe this is the last in this series and it was so wonderful to catch up with characters from the previous books as well.

Someone is trying to run herbal witch Ellie out of business. They've destroyed one of her greenhouses and also some of her magical plants. The police have no clue so she goes to Monster PI. And wouldn't you know it the only available PI is her ex boyfriend. This should be fun. Steamy monster romance.

The MCs totally showed that love is even sweeter the second time around! I just loved it! My heart melted for these two. The wedding scene was so beautiful; I can picture it in my mind and wish I could have been there. The love between them is just so sweet, and it really left me with a warm, happy feeling in my heart!

Ogre on Patrol is the fifth and final book in the Monster's P.I. series. Much like the previous books this was a fantastic fast paced read. It was a sweet, cozy, highly suspenseful second chance monster romance. This is my favorite from the whole series. I highly recommend this book and series. I can't wait to read the next series by Ava Ross.

This is another five star read from Ava Ross. I love the Monster PI series… there is a great plot which keeps you guessing who done it as well as lovers who were torn apart by betrayal. I hope this series continues and I will will gladly be downloading these wonderful prose. Enjoy❤️❤️❤️
