Venture into the unknown as haunting verses guide you through the shadows. Pierce the veil between life and death in the darkened corridors of your imagination. Fear, monsters, the eerie beauty of death, and hearts of darkness await those brave enough to enter the Catacombs.
I was granted a sneak peak at Bryn Grover's horror poetry collection for review, and it does have some great little spooky pieces in it. He has an interesting poetic style that harkens to the old pentameters, and stays true to rhyming couplets, instead of the more common free verse of most of today's poetry. Several pieces look at famous Classic horror films, like a poem on film Bride of Frankenstein (it doesn't hurt that this is one of my all time favorite films), and another the Godzilla franchise meeting the current DC universe. But a real highlight piece was a particularly excellent piece "Witch on the Bonfile," which has a hoot of an ending (sorry, no spoilers). I would recommend this to anyone who reads, or is even curious about, horror poetry.
