I love me a good book that pulls at my heartstrings and makes me feel emotional! And this one was a wild emotional journey!

We come back basically where we left off after the previous book. And our gal Annora is miserable after being magically bound to her husband’s brother and held prisoner by her sister. While I don’t quite love these two side characters it was very interesting to see inside their heads and learn more about their motives. And here I am, still disliking Alexander and Asha.

I loved watching Annora grow in her power and realize that her strength comes from her heart and what’s inside, rather than physically. We get to see all sides of her in this book and it made me a bit distraught when she sacrificed herself for her husband. I would’ve very much done the same, in her situation. And since I related to her, I hurt with her.

I will always stand with her and Jasce. In fantasy stories it’s not often you see such a strong connection between two characters. So I definitely don’t want to take the love between these two for granted. Their connection is so fierce and intense but so sweet and tender at the same time. I absolutely adore how they would go to the ends of the earth for each other, and have. And how they always make the other person be better. It’s exciting to go on this journey with them and see the strength of their bond, even in the worst of times or when they’re separated.

Read this series if you enjoy Magic, political schemes, war, medieval times, strong romantic connections, spice, morally grey side characters, forgiveness and redemption arcs, familial banter and love, multiple POVs, and fantasy themes!

🚫 Not for K-12

This third book in the series picks up right where book 2 left off; Annora’s bond to Aleksander gives him control over her magic. All she wants is to be reunited with her love, Jasce, and to take her sisters with her. Aleksander has other plans though, and wants nothing more than to destroy Jasce. He forces Annora to use her magic to do unthinkable things to anyone who gets in his path (as well as innocent bystanders.)
Will Annora survive this and be reunited with Jasce? Or will Aleksander win and destroy both her and the one she loves?

Noteworthy quote:
“The most dangerous monsters are the ones who show you just enough humanity to make you doubt yourself.”

Swoon-worthy quotes:
“Does he know what he is to me? My bulwark. My safety. My island in the midst of a vast ocean-the ocean his brother threw me into.”
“…he’s my home. Not a place, but a person. My person—the one the gods created just for me.”

Lianne Kay successfully manages to make me simultaneously NEED to know what will happen to our MCs next, while dying to learn more about the stories hinted at between side characters. She creatively weaves layers in her stories, and I’m here for it!

Looking forward to the next one in the series and hoping for some spin offs too!
Definitely recommend.

Lianne Kay has done it again with A Reflection of Dusk and Dawn! This third installment in the series is an emotional rollercoaster, filled with high-stakes tension, powerful character development, and stunning storytelling.

Annora’s journey is both heartbreaking and thrilling—her desperation to break free from Aleksander’s control and return to Jasce is palpable. Watching her fight against the magic binding her, all while trying to protect her sisters, made this book impossible to put down. The inner turmoil, the dangerous choices, and the constant threat of being turned into a weapon kept me hooked until the last page.

Kay’s writing is beautifully immersive, making you feel every ounce of Annora’s struggle and every twist of the plot. This series continues to be one of my absolute favorites, and I’m counting down the days until book 4! If you love fantasy with deep emotional stakes, compelling characters, and breathtaking writing, you need to pick up this series.

Whoa! This was a fun read!

We picked up right where we left off in book 2 and the pace never stopped.

I really enjoyed getting to see more of Aleksander's POV in this book, even though it's going to take A LOT for me to come around to him. His motivations were clear in the beginning, but slowly began to get muddled.

The revelations in the last handful of chapters...OMG! Annora has been through SO much and I am just so worried about how this is going to affect her mental well-being after all she had to deal with in this book alone.

I am SO excited to see where LiAnne takes this series next!!

Thanks so much to Lianne Kay for the ARC copy!

As always, the author does it again! I absolutely LOVED this book. Picking up where the second book ended, A Reflection of Dusk and Dawn took us down a whirlwind of emotions.
Jasce and Annora have my heart. However, hear me out....so does Aleksander. Who doesn't love a good villain? And also Emerin and Reeve! Because we all know and most definitely want something there.
And with the way this book ended, I don't know how much longer I can wait for the next one! But good thing we don't have to wait long!

5⭐️ I absolutely love this series

This book is a great read to escape into fantasy romance. And in this book; the romance was top tier, so beautiful with ‘talk you through it’ Jasce 😮‍💨 and, at times, totally soul-crushing in the best way. You really feel every emotion with the characters, especially Annora. Now I’m just counting down the days until the next one even though this one was just released, If you’re thinking about picking this series up, start with ‘reflection of silver and crimson’
Fantastic read - highly recommend 👍

Cliffhanger much!

I liked the continuation of the story. I like this world and magic system. It will be interesting to see what happens with this new enemy, Annora’s dad, and a new sister?
