Lochlin Private Security team lead Troy Buchanan has never had a client murdered on his watch. Until now. Richard Bantam and his wife Sharon met a gruesome demise, but Troy and their young son Logan had a plan in case anything bad ever happened. 4.5 STARS!
Since I’ve never read a romantic suspense by Bolden before I was a little intrigued. Told from a PI point of view, this book has a really unique plot and I was immediately engaged from the first pages.
Bolden was able to create a plot that had a little bit of past and present built into it. We’re getting different points of view while telling the story.
The author does a really good job of keeping us guessing in terms of what’s going on, who’s telling the truth, who’s really the bad guy or gal. She definitely knows how to keep us on our toes as we’re reading and becoming entrenched in the who has done it.
The characters are eclectic and work really well together. The two main characters are tough and strong but definitely have tenderness for each other. And, in case you were wondering, this is a clean Romance with a suspense twist.
Speaking of twists, the tables keep turning, changing, and spinning at the end. You’re not sure who is the true bad guy. I love that she was able to carry that off without me guessing what was going to happen.
Overall, I was thrilled that I was engaged throughout the book. Prestige was fast-paced and I completely connected with each of the characters. Bolden brings us a fabulous story and a great plot loaded with twists galore.

A romantic suspense popcorn book. It did nothing to either gain or lose stars from me.

A fantastic suspense romance that will keep you engaged from the first page.
Mari is tough, determined and holding onto a bit of her past. She’s put in an interesting situation with someone from her past and they are in a fight for their lives. Her emotions and feelings are challenged while dealing with the threat.
Troy is also holding onto a bit of his past but seeks out the only person he can trusts. He’s in a unique situation and is on the run. He is fiercely protective and a good man. Troy is put to the test..physically and emotionally.
There is so much suspense, mystery and intrigue in this story. It’s also filled with love, protectiveness and great side characters.

Prestige by Marci Bolden is the suspenseful thriller with twists and turns that will keep readers guessing. Troy Buchanan is a Lochlin Private Security team lead. He has never lost a client until now. When Richard Bantam and his wife Sharon are discovered brutally murdered in a safe house, Troy takes their son and runs, fearing for the young boy's life. Meri Osborne left Lochlin and started fresh at Prestige Security and Investigation Services. When Troy, her former teammate, shows up unannounced and asks for her help, she jumps into action. Together, they do all they can to keep the boy safe and discover who killed his parents. Is the killer someone they know? Can they trust anyone, even each other?
I have been a reader of Marci Bolden’s books for a long time and Prestige is a change of genre for me. However, this story was filled with twists and turns with suspense that kept me glued to the page. It is a gritty, dark story filled with danger behind every corner.
