What happens when a vacation fling tangles with happily ever after?
Burnt-out mystery author Riley Archer is used to seeing the worst in people. Maybe that’s why her relationships have never worked out. So when she bumps into charming, attractive Colton Anderson on her forced vacation, she throws caution to the wind and embarks on a steamy vacation fling. But when the vacation comes to a close, both Riley and Colton want to make this work.
In between figuring out long-distance and balancing demanding jobs, they struggle to figure out forever. And what about Colton’s handsome best friend? Justin’s been keeping secrets, and there’s nothing Riley does better than solve mysteries. But solving this one means she could lose her happily ever after. Forever.
This is a meet-cute MMF romance with a HEA with a little bit of mystery and a whole lot of spice.

Double Booked is a MMF rom-com with a touch of mystery, where the romance between the characters unfolds naturally and exudes feel-good vibes.
When a vacation fling blossoms into an unexpected relationship, we follow Riley, a burnt-out author, who meets Colton, a construction company owner, during her trip. Although she doesn't anticipate wanting to see him after the week ends, they do decide to pursue a long-distance relationship. Living in different states—Colton in Kentucky and Riley in Minnesota—and both having demanding careers, their relationship becomes even more complicated with the involvement of Colton's rebellious best friend, Justin. As they navigate their evolving relationship, they also confront personal traumas and the prejudices of a small-town community.
This felt a little messy? The first 30% was super cute, and I enjoyed how they met during the initial vacation scenes, though the pacing throughout was odd. There were moments when a week or just a couple of days would pass between chapters, making it feel slightly rushed.
I did like Colton + Riley's connection from the beginning, their budding romance was so sweet and it made me feel giddy the entire time I was reading...but Justin seemed somewhat out of place. Though, I wish the characters weren't so 2D
The whole scenario of Justin's dad seemed weird and it felt like it was out of place
lots of great smut which is always nice though a few scenes felt weird or awkward?
Overall, it was an engaging fast-paced fluffy read, definitely a good palate cleanser or in between books.
Spicy content 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Story ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Conflict and resolution ⭐️⭐️ I enjoyed this book don’t get me wrong, I saw the Throuple coming before it was even mentioned and was excited about it. I just wasn’t expecting how perfect everything worked out just when i thought there was going to be a big conflict it was so tiny and got worked out before the chapter even wrapped up and i guess I’m just not use to that and have read lots of books where the conflict drags on and haven’t read just a cute romance in awhile lol
This was such a cute story and I absolutely loved all the characters. Riley was such a great FMC and I loved how supportive she was of Colton’s relationship with Justin and how well the three of them worked together. If you want a cute and sweet and lightly spicy story with a bit of mystery I would highly recommend this story. Thank you Sunny Hart and Nerdy Girls Collective for the ARC of this story.
there were definitely some editing errors that can be overlooked. story was cute and good but I feel like half the book is missing. there were important conversations that I would have liked to have been there for but were just vaguely mentioned later. lacking in the MM spice for men who have loved each other for years.
Thank you to NGC for the ARC of this story! Sorry it took me a bit, I have been sick the last week!
This story was sweet and kept you engaged the whole time. While there were a few moments I got so lost in the story! I really enjoyed reading this book. I found myself smiling so much at this book and the banter between characters!
Reily and Colton meet on vacation, where they are both forced to go somewhere tropical by their friends, as a way to get away and refresh. However, neither want that and decide to stay together for the trip and make it work outside of this vacation.
I loved that they had video calls and called each other often, that honestly reminds me so much of my bf and I as we do video calls every single night.
The romance was sweet and spicy and I liked that they worked so well together. I liked the mystery and I think it added a special element to this romantic book.
Also yes to the use of baby girl! It is one of my fav nicknames!
I really liked this book and honestly, those looking for a fast-paced romantic book with a touch of mystery and MMF vibes, then this is the book for you!
What a great story! I absolutely loved the characters and getting to know their little quirks. The love between the trio is undeniable and leapt off the page.
Delightful rollercoaster that blends the thrill of an island fling with the complexities of a polyamorous relationship.
When burned-out mystery author Riley Archer (FMC, 33) meets charming Colton Anderson (MC #1) on vacation, she embraces a passionate fling, only to find herself wanting more as the trip ends. As they grapple with long-distance and demanding careers, their quest for a future together is further complicated by Colton's enigmatic best friend, Justin (MC #2), whose secrets threaten their chance at a happily ever after. This steamy MMF romance blends mystery and passion, promising a satisfying, spicy conclusion.
Set against the contrasting backdrops of an island vacation, and home states of Minnesota and Kentucky, this romance brilliantly juxtaposes a golden retriever boyfriend and a dominant bad-boy boyfriend, giving readers the best of both worlds. Riley finds herself at the heart of a dreamy scenario where she gets to experience not one, but two incredible men. I’d be pinching myself every morning thinking I was still in a dream.
The novel shines in its authentic portrayal of Riley’s life as a mystery author, providing a fascinating glimpse into the real-world challenges of deadlines, book signings, and the pressures of the writing world. The depiction of Riley’s polyamorous relationship is handled with nuance and honesty, exploring the difficult choices and conversations involved in a three-way dynamic. The story doesn’t shy away from addressing the impact such a relationship can have on one's family and community, navigating these issues with sensitivity and credibility.
Another highlight of "Double Booked" is its strong, independent female characters, particularly the unforgettable Momma A. Her sassy remarks and unapologetic attitude make her a standout, adding a refreshing dose of empowerment and humor to the narrative. The blend of romance, real-life struggles, and vibrant characters make "Double Booked" an engaging and heartfelt read that will leave you cheering for Riley and her unconventional happily ever after.
Happy release to Sunny! Double Booked is available NOW! Thank you to Sunny and NGC for the eARC of this book!

When two burnt-out individuals, an author, Riley Archer, and construction owner, Colton Anderson, are both forced onto vacation by their friends and meet-up, the two have an amazing few days together and want to bring their relationship back to their real lives. But with Colton's best friend, Justin, keeping secrets from both of them, Riley wants to fix it once and for all. See if the three of them can find their HEA in Double Booked!
This book was quick and cute, with a slight bit of mystery. I think all the characters fit really well together and I really enjoyed how supportive Riley was to ensure that Colton was able to get the relationship with Justin that he had been wanting for soooo long. It really shows how committed and caring Riley is as a partner and how perfect she really is for both of them. I loved seeing how Riley fit into their relationship seeing them all grow together. The character arcs for all of them were all solid, especially for Riley and Colton, showing how there is more to life outside of work and how finding work/life balance is sooo important these days! The spice was fun and flirty, though wanted more on-page MM (this was mainly closed door besides some kissing).
If you want a quick, cute, spicy-ish MMF romcom, definitely pick this up!
This is one of those feet kicking while you giggle, heartwarming, full of spice, unconventional love stories.
Who'd have imagined going on a forced vacation to help Riley with her writing burnout would lead to her very own hea?! Can a vacation fling turned long-distance relationship really work? Add in the history between the guys. Riley doesn't want to get in the way of their happiness. Colton and Justin do have history but can Riley be part of their future? Ahhh I loved this!!
We all need a friend like Ryan! "They look at you like you hung the moon. You've been running so thousand miles a minute since I met you, always trying to prove something to someone. The question isn't do you think this will work, it's are you willing to stop and let them catch you?" -Oof that hit this, sometimes insecure, people pleaser in the chest!
Momma A is the best and I too wanna be her when I grow up 😅 I love how she showed up for her boys and took Riley around town putting b**ches in their place. Doris and Jessica are real ones too! Seriously how cool are these side characters?!
Of course the author fmc is going to stumble on a mystery that could throw a major curveball. That was wild! Good thing Riley has connections!
All the book jokes had me cracking up 😆
I don't think I've read a book this urm wholesome with this much heat and no toxic dark theme. Yeah sure "if they only talked it out sooner..." uh yeah this is probably the healthiest relationship I've had the pleasure of reading in a while. Not giving up the dark romance it this was so freaking good!
Read after seeing a recommendation on social media. 😊
The beginning of this book was so cute. Riley is forced to go on vacation by her assistant. Colton was pushed to go on vacation by his best friend. They meet and have a week-long vacation fling on an island. Afterwards, they decide to see if they can continue as a long distance relationship. However, as soon as Riley meets Colton's friend Justin she can see that they are already in love with each other. Instead of being jealous or ignoring the situation, she suggests the men talk to each other and leaves the door open for more. Of course, we already know to expect a happily ever after from almost any book I'm going to read.
I loved the communication and how the partners are all willing to accept each other flaws and all. However, I feel like we didn't see enough of the relationship between Justin and Colton. I wanted to see what those dates were like and I wish we saw at least one date of all three out together. Also, I really wished we saw more of Colton's parents. Momma A sounds amazing... but we only saw her a few times. Also, I love that the PI found information and it culminated in some drama. However, I wish there was more to that part of the story.
Essentially, I really enjoyed the book but wish there was more to it. I know oftentimes I'll comment that some books could have been better with 100 pages less. This is the rare time I wanted at least 100 pages more to the story.
This was my first read from Sunny Hart and I really enjoyed the relationship between Riley, Colton, and Justin.
Riley is forced into taking a vacation at an island resort by her assistant at the same time Colton is forced to do the same by his best friend, Justin. The two have a week-long steamy tryst and decide to keep going long distance when they leave. When Riley surprises Colton with a visit, she meets his best friend Justin and soon learns the two used to date and have been in love with one another forever, but haven't done anything about it. Not wanting to come between the best friends, Riley offers to step away in spite of her love for Colton and her growing attraction with Justin. The group decides to navigate a relationship between the three of them and their support of and for one another was beautifully written.
I would have liked to see more of the Colton and Justin relationship. Their past is mentioned often, but I wanted to know more about them. While we get some explicit scenes between Riley and Colton, and with the three together, Colton and Justin only ever kiss on page. Their own physical relationship is hinted at, but never seen on page outside of a kiss. If we weren't going to see them connect physically, I'd have liked to know more about their emotional connection.
I truly enjoyed this story. It is a heartwarming MMF rom-com. I absolutely love a good rom-com and this was my first MMF book and it was adorable in every way. Who does not enjoy a good ol' Island fling?? I truly enjoyed the characters; the FMC is plus size (which I always appreciate) mystery author named Riley Archer. She is just the best. I loved that the author truly gave us insight into the world of an author and all they experience. Challenges that are faced such as deadlines, book signings, the pressure of writing in general. Colton is MMC # 1 who is also on this island. The two main characters are there because as anyone now a days, they are burnt out and need a vacation. Then there is MMC # 2 Justin. (Colton and Justin not only are best friends but used to date) Here comes the triangle. The character development of love and support within the three I appreciated. I do admit I would have liked to have seen a bit more of Colton and Justin's relationship. Oh, and there is a bit of mystery mixed in. This was given to me as an advance readers copy; this is my voluntary honest opinion. I would like to thank the author Sunny Hart and Nerdy girl collective for the opportunity.
A heart-warming story that has the thrill of a vacation fling, a beautiful second chance romance, and a lovely polyamorous relationship.
Riley Archer, a burned out mystery author, and Colton Anderson, a workaholic owner of a construction company, meet on their forced vacations and have instant chemistry. Although it starts as an island fling, both of them want more before they leave. So they have to navigate a long distance relationship, demanding jobs, and friends who could come between them. Justin is Colton’s handsome best friend and business partner, but Riley can tell he’s keeping secrets. She has to figure out if she can uncover his secrets without losing Colton.
I loved this book and read the whole thing in one sitting. Riley is an amazing woman who battles with trauma and insecurity about her job, her plus-size body, and her lack of a social life while Colton is determined to worship her just as she is. The representation in this book is done so well and I loved the unexpected twists.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes a feel good romance with a little mystery. It was absolutely wonderful. 4.5/5
An island fling turns into a complex polyamorous relationship! When Riley, a burnt-out author meets Colton, a construction company owner, while on vacation, she doesn’t expect to want to continue seeing each other after the week is over. He lives in Kentucky, she lives in Minnesota, and both have busy careers but throw in Colton’s bad-boy best friend, Justin, and everything gets a little complicated. While trying to figure out their relationship, they struggle with their personal traumas and have to deal with a prejudiced small-town community. I wished I could read about these three forever! I loved the mix of romance and real-life struggles. I loved seeing Riley’s character development as she became more confident in herself as the book went on. Her banter with her guys was hilarious and they all balanced each other so well.
Riley lives a sad, lonely life until her best friend/assistant forces her to take a much needed vacation. Sitting alone at a bar, Colton, takes the seat next to her. Both single and on vacation alone, they decide to be vacation buddies. At the end of the week, Colton decides to make their arrangement a little more than just their short, but oh so sweet, current arrangement. He offers a long distance relationship, and Riley is more than happy to give it a try. When Riley decides to surprise Colton in his home town, she meets Justin. Colton’s best friend. And the story goes uphill from there.
I enjoyed the story, but felt a little disappointed at the end. There were some subjects I wish had been developed a bit more, but all in all, it was a fun read.
When mystery author, Riley, meets construction company owner, Colton, during an island vacation sparks fly and the two feel an undeniable connection. The two try to make things work despite the nuances of a long distance relationship and the various challenges of demanding careers.
There’s also Colton’s best friend, Justin, with his slew of secrets. But Riley’s used to uncovering secrets and manages to weasel her way in Justin’s good graces. Together, the trio faces down several problems but is happily ever after possible?
Rating 4/5 ⭐️s - A MMF rom com with just a little bit of mystery. The romance between the characters happens naturally and gives off feel good vibes. I love how the main characters emphasize the importance of communication and the side characters in this book are amazingly supportive of the main characters. The brevity of this book makes it a quick read.
Spice Rating 5/5 🌶️s - The spice in this book builds and it is absolutely delicious. You start at 3 🌶️s and it gradually ends up as 5 🌶️s.
Thank you Sunny Hart and The Nerdy Girl Collective for this highly enjoyable read.
*Double Booked* by Sunny Hart is a charming and witty romance that follows Georgie, a piano teacher leading a double life. By day, she’s the perfect girlfriend, but by night, she transforms into George, a DJ in the LGBTQ+ nightlife scene. The story is a fun exploration of identity and self-discovery, with relatable characters and plenty of humor.
While the love triangle and some plot points are a bit predictable, Hart’s engaging writing and the heartwarming journey of the protagonist make this a delightful read. *Double Booked* is perfect for anyone looking for a light, entertaining romance with a thoughtful twist.
So she just moves, no conversation with her parents or brother...
No word on how Ryan fits in her life now or the finishing of her novel.
Why didn't the guys confront Vicki? Why wasn't she fired on the spot?
Need more on the whole fbi contacts bit and how they were close enough to have jokes...
I feel it needed another chapter or two.
I will say some positives about the book: there are some very loveable characters.... I think Ryan and Momma A were my favorites. The feel of a small town was perfectly articulated.
It was a good read, just in my opinion needed a bit more explained.

It's cute and sweet. All of the MM is closed door aside from kissing, and the spice is minimal. The characters all balance each other out. They fit together so well with their flaws and imperfections. Colton seems perfect, but he can really be too optimistic and oblivious. Sometimes, he isn't as detail oriented as the other two, but he is definitely the golden retriever of the trio. She is the middle ground of the group, and like mention, Justin and Colton are very yin and yang. I was surprised by Justin's back story, but all in all, it's cute, and I would love to see their relationship grow more.
I absolutely loved this story. The differences between the characters were a perfect balance.
The awkward start to the FMCs forced vacation leads to meeting one MMC and they find a connection and a reason to actually enjoy the vacation forced on them by their respective best friends. What happens after the vacation ends leads to meeting the other MMC.
Discover how three people holding onto trauma and/or repressed feelings can discover something and someone so unexpected.
My only issue was that it never finalized the FMCs family issues and did not really go into detail about it.
Oh and I absolutely love Momma A and Betty (the hearing aid comment had me dying).
"Double Booked" by Sunny Hart is a delightful MMF romance featuring Riley, an author convinced she's better off alone and not suited for relationships. Her well-meaning co-worker, Ryan, urges her to take a break from work and surprises her with a vacation. On this unexpected getaway, she meets Colton, who is also on a trip arranged by his best friend. Sparks fly, and they quickly fall for each other, exploring the possibility of a long-distance romance. The story is full of heartwarming moments and surprises, making it a sweet and enjoyable read about finding love when you least expect it.
Double Booked by Sunny Hart ( @sunnyhartauthor ) 5⭐️s • This book is a super cute and quick read! I instantly felt connected with the FMC, Riley. She’s just so realistic but a little part of her is a dreamer. Colton is just so romantic and Justin is the spice that really shakes this book up and adds a bit of mystery. I’m excited to read what else this author has to offer now, especially when I want an HEA and a strong FMC! Happy Reading! 🩷
What an amazing read! Read it in under 24 hrs - if I didn’t have to worked I wouldn’t have put it down. You fall in love with Riley then the author makes you fall in love with how Colton loves her- then bam! Justin just comes in and opens both of their worlds and I’m here for it!!! Tons of spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ so not complaints there ! Loved Momma A too - one would only hope to grow up with a mom like her! 🩷
Yes, yes, and yes. Double Booked by Sunny Hart is an incredible 'read in one sitting' book. Hart beautifully writes these characters and excels at creating emotional (and sexual) tension.
If you're looking for a cute, fluffy, and spicy read, this one is for you!
This book was so fun. I enjoyed that they didn't seperate them realize they wanted more and discussed it while still on vacation. The best part was how Riley brought the guys together and how they both knew they needed her. Plus the support she got for being her was great when her family didn't support her.
Riley is sent on vacation by her assistant to take some time off from work. She is not expecting to meet anyone but Colton seems like just the added fun she could use.
When they agree to try things when they return home Riley wonders if maybe there could be room for a third or if she is the third wheel.
Thank you to @nerdygirlscollective and @sunnyhartauthor for the ARC.
This was such a fun read. I enjoyed the small-town tension and how they introduced the third to the relationship.
The twists at the end were wild and I think I gasped out loud at part. Would recommend to anyone wanting something fun, easy, with relatability, and twists.
I love ed this book. The way the relationships grow is so beautiful to "watch". The way each character deals with their issues and helps the others to deal with theirs. It amazing.
