Tori
My name is Tori Townsend and I have three problems.
Problem number I'm a sucker for the walking red flags.
Problem number I never thought I'd kill someone.
The third and worst problem of all and what really takes the cake ... I certainly never thought I'd be hunted.

Killian
I don’t like to tell people my full name, just like I don’t like to tell people anything about my past. If they knew, they’d do more than steer clear of me because of my rugged appearance.
Drifting. That’s what I’ve been doing, in search of the elusive person who wronged me. The man who took everything from me because of what I did to him.
But when I walked into Fairview, I hadn’t expected for all hell to break loose, and I hadn’t expected the woman who owns the B&B I’ve been staying at, the woman who is slowly winning me over, to be in trouble. I just wish it wasn't because of my past.

ARC READ 📖
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

💋 Dark Romance
💋 Thriller
💋 Drifter MMC
💋 Plus-sized FMC
💋 Pain K*nk
💋 🔪 play

“I’m a sucker for the walking red flags.” 🚩

But who doesn’t love a red flag when he ends up being nothing like what you expected?

I was so excited to get this book as an ARC read! When I found out I was accepted to the ARC team I immediately rushed to read the first book in this duet, Bed of Roses. After reading Tegan’s story I was even more excited for Tori’s!

Obviously, as a dark romance lover, I very much enjoyed the spice in this book! But adding in the mystery/thriller and “who done it” really had me sucked into this story!

Tori is a single, independent woman who has no intentions of letting her walls down, again. She’s a business woman through and through.
Killian is a drifter, chasing after the demons of his past to seek revenge. Making sure not to put any roots down or stay in one place for too long.
That is until his past and her present collide right into each other!

Just when I was sure I had it all figured out…PLOT TWIST! You think you know who the villain is, but D.V. really knows how to yank the rug out from under you! No matter how suspicious they all seem, you never really know! That goes for both books in this duet.

I loved Tori and Killian! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ohhhh and the apology breakfast scene 🥵
My goodness! They both ate breakfast, but he had a full spread! 🙈

Field of Lilies
Arc Review
By: D.V. Fischer
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Obviously DV has done it again. This was the perfect way to continue from Bed of Roses. This time we follow Tori and Killian. They meet when Killian calls wanting to rent Tori’s B&B. Things move quickly from there. This is a fast paced read. You will easily be able to finish it in a few hours. We are able to see Tori and Killian build a relationship when they never thought they would be able to. Killian is there when Tori needs him the most. It ends with a happy ending. I highly recommend this read!

Field of Lilies is a great conclusion to the Bouquet of Lies duet. I loved Tori and Killians story, it’s a fast read that has you on the edge of your seat, screaming at your book. The suspense that follows killian, not knowing who he is or what his story was, the frustration with the sheriff (this town and its sherif issues I swear), and the heartbreak felt for the women impacted by the Lilian Breeder. I did guess the baddie immediately, but it didn’t take away from the story for me, I still really enjoyed this book.

I liked getting to know Tori more and meeting Killian and getting to know him in Field of Lilies. Their story to acceptance of each other and love was very moving. Along with it came intrigue as another horrible thing was happening in Tori’s small town. Don’t worry Tegan and Cole were there also continuing their story that began in Bed of Roses. D.V. Fischer, thank you for this advanced copy to read. I truly enjoyed this duet.

Field Of lillies is part two of the bouquet of lies from DV Fisher.

Tori
My name is Tori Townsend and I have three problems.
Problem number I'm a sucker for the walking red flags.
Problem number I never thought I'd kill someone.
The third and worst problem of all and what really takes the cake ... I certainly never thought I'd be hunted.

Killian

The author perfectly combines dark romance and thriller. Her writing is fluid, making it a fast-paced read. She keeps you captivated from beginning to end. You get a bird's-eye view of Tori and Killian's lives because each has their own chapter. This also helps you get to know the characters better.

This is the second book I've read by her, and I'm hooked. If you enjoy dark romance with a thriller undertone, I definitely recommend this one.

WOW. 5 ⭐ 3🌶️. (There are some kinks)
Congratulations on the final and yet another incredible book for this duet.

If you haven't read the first, then do not bother passing this and go read the Bed of Roses!!

This is definitely darker than the first book but oh so well done! Check triggers please!!

This book follows the story of FMC Tori who is a boss woman, with two full time businesses to run and a new b&b. Shes exhausted beyond all her normal limits, thinking it can't get any more chaotic Until shes driving home and drops her phone and her whole life changes in the blink of an eye!

Killian is the MMC with a dark past and even darker secrets. He is searching for someone who has taken everything from him. While on his journey he finds himself in a small town the morning after an accident looking for somewhere to stay for a little bit.

Fully captivating you from within the first few pages you are dragged into Tori and Killians world of chaos, where it seems anything that could happen does.
With unexpected twists and shock factors hitting hard, this book will have you going through every emotion possible and also needing to cool down after some steamy scenes.

Im sad to see it end because i loved the characters throughout both books!

ARC Review: FOL was amazing! I couldn’t stop reading and finished it so quick! The author did such a great job of keeping you on your toes through every twist and turn. I kept thinking I knew who the villain was until I realized I was definitely wrong! The smut scenes were 5/5 and the character development was beautifully written. I read Bed of Roses and loved that but getting to see Tori’s character get the attention it deserved was great! Killians character had all the sexiness jumping off the pages! Definitely happy I got a chance to read this! If you’re looking for something that will keep you guessing and keep you interested with all the fun smut scenes then definitely give this a read!

couldn’t put this book down. i didn’t find it as good as the first book which i gave 5 ⭐️ to but this is definitely a 4⭐️ read. i was on the edge of my seat towards the end, i was questioning every man in this book 😂 i dunno if it because tegan and cole had such an intense love in the first book that i struggled with tori and killian’s. i just felt like tori and killian’s relationship lacked something for me, i felt like there was connection missing. hence why i gave it 4 stars. but this series is still one of my favourites! 🤍

There’s so much to this book. Love, loss, anger, affection, suspense, thrill, mystery… I loved it. I guessed the ending about half way through, which is the only reason I gave it 4 stars. But it was such a great read! I love the roller coaster that is DV Fischers writing. It kept me on my toes and wanting more the entire time. Definitely a binge worthy read.

I was blessed with an ARC copy of this book!

Oh my gosh, read this book!

5/5 🌟
4/5🌶️

Wow! I am so impressed. This book was gorgeous! It is a dark romance that really makes you face your fears. I love the main characters and their chemistry. If you, too, are someone that tends to fall for walking red flags like Tori, you will LOVE Killian. Fischer is the first author I feel really captures a bubbly yet sassy FMC in a dark romance kind of way, and I LOVE it, especially considering she's a curvy girl! And there is definitely some satisfying spice for our spice lovers. I won't include any spoilers, but DV Fischer wraps up this duet like a charm and I will definitely be checking out more of her books!

A few triggers to be consider can be found on her website!

You should DEFINITELY give this a go if you are a dark romance friend!

I absolutely loved this final book of the Bouquet of Lies duet. Tori and Killian’s story captured me probably more than Tegan and Cole, but both stories brought the thrill, the emotion, the spice, and the tension that I love.

I love the cover and how well it complements bk 1. I love the theme of flowers! It’s the chains on the cover that hint at sinister/scary elements.

The book begins with Tori driving her car in torrential rain, which makes visibility poor. When her mobile phone slips to the floor, she would normally leave it but the floor is wet and who knows she might need the phone to hand in this weather so she reaches for it, glancing away from the road. When she looks back up she see’s a black van and then suddenly a woman is running into the road directly in front of her. Tori is unable to stop her car in time and hits the woman. Tori immediately jumps out of the car and shouts for the black van driver for him to help, but the figure in the orange raincoat simply climbs back into the van and speeds off, leaving Tori alone, she rushes to the woman’s side, its then she notices that the woman is visibly quite far along in her pregnancy. Tori touches the woman to check for a pulse but sadly and devastatingly for Tori there is no pulse. Tori has hit and killed the woman. Tori calls the Police and its not long until the newly appointed Sheriff Pierce Hilton arrives, like a knight in shining armour. Tori has history with Pierce, she slept with him once, and now he wants more and she doesn’t so the way he tries to comfort Tori feels awkward. The only person Tori wants is her best friend Tegan, so Pierce calls her and its not long before Tegan and Cole turn up to offer sympathy, and emotional and practical help for Tori.

Killian Savage strolls into town, a mysterious loner who happens to walk into Derek’s store and ask about a play to stay. Derek directs Killian to Tori as she has a small studio type accommodation behind her home that she rents out. When Cole sees Killian, he recognises the attitude and dangerous air around him and isn’t afraid of expressing his immediate dislike for the man. Killian arranges to meet Tori and fills in the relevant forms to rent the property. Killian sees a tired, troubled woman in front of him and likes what he sees but he isn’t there in the Fairview area for romance he is there tracking the man who killed his wife and children and nothing is going to get in his way of vengeance.
Though tired and distracted because of the accident Tori can’t help but notice how “easy on the eye” Killian is, though she gets the feeling he is hiding a secret or two. Tori ponders that Killian may be the distraction she needs right now, because she only wants the one-night stand kind of relationship, she isn’t the marrying kind and she certainly doesn’t want children.

If Tori doesn’t have enough to deal with, she is dealing with the new Pastor, Kent Hilton who happens to be Sheriff Pierce Hilton’s Uncle. Where Pierce likes Tori and wants to be around her more his Uncle Kent despises what Tori stands for. Tori has a pagan shop which Pastor Kent accuses her of leading people astray and says her shop is the devil’s work. Pastor Kent also happens to be in the realtor business so in direct competition with Tori with that too.

Sheriff Pierce reveals to Tori that he cannot find out the identity of the woman she collided with. Rather sinisterly the woman’s finger prints have been burned off and her teeth removed. The only possible identifying mark on the woman is the lily on her wrist, which Tori finds rather ironic as the accident occurred at the side of the field of lilies that were planted in the memory of Neil Wordon. Tori describes the man in the orange raincoat and that he was the same build as Pastor Kent Hilton. Sheriff Pierce shrugs off the description of the build of the man in the orange raincoat, saying Tori is jumping to conclusions as she doesn’t get on with his Uncle and that Derek has a whole store full of orange raincoats he is selling to anyone he can.

I immediately fell for the quiet, moody, long haired, steamy hot Killian. I really like the character quotes/statements within the book such as “I'm not the marrying type. I'm not the happy-ever-after guy. Not anymore. ~ Killian Savage” Which kind of makes him a male version of Tori as she isn’t the marrying kind either”

It's not long before Tori and Killian are giving into temptations at every opportunity and Tori is breaking both her only once rule and her they don’t sleep in my bed rules! Killian slowly opens up to Tori about his past and why he is in Fairview, when he mentions the relevance of a Lily brand/tattoo Tori contacts Pierce. Tori doesn’t know if it’s the stress from the accident or if she really is being followed. Its not long before her stalker makes themselves known by living a Lily in her house. Killian immediately knows what this means his past and present are about to collide. He vows to protect Tori from the man he is hunting. However, despite all his efforts and those of her friends, efforts to keep her safe, Tori is kidnapped and is forcibly given her very own lily brand/tattoo. Can Killian, Cole and Pierce work together to find and free Tori, and what state will she be in by the time they find her. After a discussion with Cole, Killian realises he has feelings for Tori, he loves her and wants a future with her, but has he realised this too late?

The book is of a medium/fast pace, I soon became hooked and didn’t want to put it down. I easily grew to love the characters and I even enjoyed hating the bad guys! The book had a great twisted plot and I loved all the world building and back story of the Fairview area. There are some explicit scenes within the book, but if they aren’t your thing you can skim over them. They are within the context of the plot. I’ll admit they were a little too explicit for my usual taste but they didn’t spoil the overall enjoyment of the book.

My immediate thoughts were that Field Of Lilies is an action-packed story with mystery, suspense, danger lurking, steamy explicit scenes.

Summing up I love the characters in this duet/series and the darkness that seems attracted to, and enjoys lurking in the Fairview area. I loved the hint of humour within the explanation of why the field of lilies were planted, that Tegan thought Neil would have had enough of Roses. I adored and immediately fell in love with the tough, previously broken but ready to be fixed (though they may not know it until they meet the right woman) main male characters of this book duet. I fell in love with Cole first in Bed Of Roses, then Killian in Field Of Roses, I even grew to quite like Pierce in Field Of Lilies.

A Gripping and High-Stakes Conclusion to the Duet
Following the events of Bed of Roses, D.V. Fischer returns with Fields of Lilies, an intense and atmospheric dark romance that expertly balances suspense with emotional depth. Focusing on Tori’s journey, this sequel elevates the stakes by offering a faster pace and a significantly darker tone than its predecessor.
The story centers on Tori, a fiercely independent businesswoman whose guarded nature is challenged when she encounters Killian. As a drifter motivated by a vendetta against his past, Killian is a man who refuses to remain in one place until his trajectory intersects with Tori’s present. Their chemistry is immediate and transformative, forcing both characters to dismantle their defenses in ways they never anticipated while Killian proves to be the partner Tori needs most during her moments of greatest vulnerability.
Fischer excels at the "whodunit" element of the plot, maintaining a palpable sense of paranoia where every character remains a suspect until the final reveal. Just as the reader begins to feel confident in their theories, the author executes a brilliant plot twist that effectively redefines the narrative. It is a sophisticated integration of a gritty murder mystery within a romantic arc, keeping the reader guessing throughout the entirety of the duet.
Ultimately, D.V. Fischer has delivered a thrilling and fast-paced conclusion to this series. The diverse character perspectives and the authentic emotional bond between Tori and Killian result in a satisfying happy ending. This duet is a must-read for fans of the genre who appreciate complex characters and a plot that refuses to let go until the final page.
While Bed of Roses established the world, Fields of Lilies ventures into much darker territory with a higher level of explicit content and "spice." Prospective readers should approach this title with awareness, as the realistic and gritty tone incorporates themes of violence, murder, and past trauma. This story is specifically crafted for a mature audience and is not for the skittish; readers are encouraged to consult the author’s full list of trigger warnings before diving in.

I just loved this duet and Field of Lilies contains all what you need in a passionate love story with a bit of drama, angst, mystery and spice!
When Tori is involved in an accident, she never would of thought that it would change her life the way it did, and not for the better.
Meeting Killian for the first time, she finds her interest piqued, as she had sworn off all men after her ex left her high and dry!
Killian looked dangerous, full of tattoos and rugged in appearance, causing anyone who looked his way, steer clear.
He had a past that he was trying to run from, secrets he did not want to reveal to anyone, least of all a woman that he was renting a B+B from.
This did not deter Tori, and she made it her business to get all up in his.....much to his chagrin!
You will love the banter between these two as they find themselves mutually attracted to each other, both not wanting to become involved as they fight to keep away from each other. The chemistry between the two is HOT! The spice between the sheets is over the top hot and just right at the same time!
With Killian's past finally catching up with him, it puts Tori in danger and with her accident still being unresolved, she doesn't realize the danger she is in.
A big Protective growly Alpha male in your corner, making sure to keep you safe should be enough, right! Until it isn't!
The heat and spice is just right with enough thriller vibes in the back story, to keep you reading. As I read this book in one sitting, cos I could not put it down, with the twist in the story I did not see coming...was heart stopping!
How does Killian save Tori? Who is The Lillian? Certainly not who I expected it to be, that is for certain. Do Killian and Tori get the HEA? Take the time to read Bed of Roses and Field of Lilies, you wont be disappointed
A brilliant 5 star read from me!

Bed of Roses gave us the popcorn… Field of Lilies said, “Hold my drink… and watch this!”

I read Field of Lilies and immediately accepted that peace would not be an option. This book had me stressed, emotional, and wildly invested from page one. I was side-eyeing characters, holding my breath, and whispering “oh no… OH NO” like it was a new personality trait.

Tori’s grief and guilt hit HARD. You feel the weight she’s carrying, and it makes every moment more intense. Then there’s Killian. Quiet. Mysterious. Drifter energy. The kind of man who says very little but somehow makes everything feel safer and more dangerous at the same time. Protective doesn’t even begin to cover it. This man is built to stand between danger and the woman he cares about, and his own grief adds a heaviness that deepens every moment he shares with Tori.

I thought I knew where things were going….. NOPE. The plot twisted so hard my heart did somersaults while my mouth screamed things that made zero sense. Every turn had me gasping, panicking, and completely obsessed with what was coming next. Yes, there is spice. Yes, it’s GOOD. Yes, it fits perfectly into the chaos.

This book is grief, obsession, danger, devotion, and love tangled together until you don’t know whether to panic or melt - so you do both. I inhaled this story, emotionally spiraled multiple times, and closed the book feeling a little unhinged but deeply satisfied.

Field of Lilies grabbed my heart, set it on fire, threw in a plot twist so wild my brain filed for divorce, and then laughed while I screamed.

If you like dark romance with suspense that keeps you guessing, a protective MMC you’d trust with your life, Field of Lilies is absolutely for you.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and these thoughts are entirely my own.

This opening excerpt from what promises to be a thrilling novel immediately pulls the reader in. The crisp, concise writing style sets the stage for a story filled with mystery and intrigue.

Tori’s voice is compelling. We instantly connect with her vulnerability as she confesses her struggles with bad judgment and a shocking secret. The phrase ‘walking red flags’ is a clever and relatable way to describe her self-destructive tendencies, hinting at a past filled with bad choices and heartache. The admission that she’s being hunted adds a layer of urgency and suspense, making us desperate to know more about her predicament.

Killian’s voice, in contrast, is shrouded in mystery. His introspective tone reveals a guarded individual with a dark past, haunted by an elusive wrongdoer. The phrase ‘rugged appearance’ suggests a man who has seen and endured hardship, further fueling our curiosity. His sudden involvement in Tori’s life, and her potential danger, promises a complex and potentially explosive dynamic between them.

The setting of Fairview adds a layer of intrigue. The charm of a B&B and the mention of a woman ‘slowly winning’ Killian over suggest a potentially romantic element, adding another layer of complexity to the narrative.

Overall, this opening is a masterclass in hooking the reader. It leaves us with more questions than answers, eager to delve into the story and uncover the secrets that lie within. We want to know what Tori did, who is hunting her, and what Killian’s troubled past holds. The promise of danger, romance, and a gripping mystery makes this a must-read.

A curvy girl dark romance thriller, sign me up every single time! Throwing together two of my favorite genres gets me excited every time and this one did not disappoint. I kept thinking I knew who it was, which I had one because he was just a slime ball, but the other…MIND FREAKING BLOWN!

Tori is a very independent woman and not looking for that happily ever after. She doesn’t want marriage or children. She is known to get around a bit though. She is a real estate agent and also owns a Wicca shop. She does not get along with the towns newest minister who is also now her real estate competition. After she accidentally hits a pregnant woman who dies, her entire life is upside down and weird things start happening.

Killian is a drifter in life after he lost his family. He is now out for revenge. So he is walking across country to find them and ends up in Fairview. He has a dark past that not many know about, but he has the eyes of people from the town on him.

Killian rents the B&B behind Tori’s house and she is a bit suspicious of him at first. But as time goes on they start to get closer. There is a spark there that neither of them expected. At first he doesn’t share much about himself, he’s very secretive and doesn’t want anyone to know who he is. But as time goes on he starts to really care for her and they both open up to one another. He has a pain k!nk and she is open to trying new things. Things heat up very quickly with them.

I was dying to know who was behind everything. I needed to know who it was and when I found out…nope did not suspect him at all! I read this book in one sitting. It was suspenseful, dark, and spicy.

A wonderfully dark story

Field of Lilies is book 2 of a duet and admittedly I haven't read the first, yet. It can be read as a stand-alone though there are a few references to the first in this. There are a few triggers but the whole story is so well written I couldn't stop listening to it. Full of intrigue, kidnapping, murder, mystery, dark romance, love, twists and a HEA.

Tori's day goes from bad to worse when she drops her phone on her way home and ends up cradling a dying woman near a field of lilies. She's independent and runs several businesses but is struggling with competition and rumours being spread. When Killian walks into the town wanting to rent her B&B she can sense that there's something different about him and as they start to spend time together she knows it might only be for the short time he's in town.

Killian has a past he'd rather not talk about, secrets he won't talk about and has been hunting for the one who changed his life. When he walks into Fairview he expects it to just be a brief stop but spending time with Tori makes him wonder if he'd be happy staying longer. After some truths come to light, he starts working with her as his past and her present might be more connected than they would have expected.

Ricki Layne narrates this well, bringing all of the characters to life.

"I'm a sucker for walking red flags."

“No. You make me believe that there’s a part of me that’s no longer dead. Maybe that I can have more.”

Ahhhh! I'm so glad Tori got her own story!! If you haven't read Bed of Roses yet I suggest that one first!

Tori- our FMC she's a realtor, has a shop, and a new b&b. Total boss babe.
Killian- drifter. Dark past. Secretive. Very mysterious. He is looking for the person who took everything from him.
And then together? Freaking delicious and sooo hooootttt 🔥🔥🔥

I think this one is darker than the first! 😌 It captivates you from the very beginning. I DEVOURED this. And that ending!!!!!! I can't say too much because I don't want to give anything away but this one is a must read!!! It keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entirety. I flew through this reading it and absolutely refused to put it down.

I love the dark romance aspect but this author throws in the mystery/thriller... Combining my favorite genres! This duet is absolute perfection. It has it all! Drama, twists, mystery, thrill, spice, angst! And just like the first one... When it came to the twist... Soooo good!!! I absolutely love this author. Good job DV. This one lands in the favorites list for this year. *Chefs kiss* 👏

Wow, I was lucky enough to get a ARC copy of this book and I'm SO greatful. This book took me less than 24 hours to read (including a 10 hour work day and sort-of sleep.) It was SO good, I couldn't put it down. Shhh... I may have hid in the bathroom at work for 10 mins to finish a chapter. This is the 2nd book in the Bouquet of Lies duet, the first book being Bouquet of Lies. It could be read without reading the first book, although why would you. GO READ the first book now before Field of Lilies comes out! I read a LOT of dark stories, this one was just the perfect combo of alpha male, small town, romantic, shouldn't want him but I do, smexy time. It made me laugh, cry, gasp out loud, cheer. You name it, it was like reading about an old friend. DV is an amazing story teller and I'm only sorry I waited so long to read DV's books. Please go preorder this and support DV so she'll keep writing these freaking fantastic books. I'm a fan for life for sure! I didn't want to do any spoilers, so I'll just say when mystery man Killian come into town, Tori rents him her little B&B in the back of her house. The attraction she feels for this bad boy starts a downward spiral for the entire town. Longest review I've ever done, LOL, go read the first book if you haven't and get this one preordered, I promise you won't regret it!

Field of Lilies is the second book in the Bouquet of Lies duet by DV Fischer. While still a decent read, book two was not as good as book 1. I fell for those characters in book 1, so hard, so I had high hopes for Tori and Killians story. Tori, a real estate agent and Killian, a man seeking revenge for his murdered family, meet when Killian drifts through town and rents a B&B from Tori. The two develop the hots for each other and end up in some deep stuff as their stories become intertwined. Definitely read and heed the trigger warnings.

There were just too many gaps in everything that happened, in my opinion. For instance, Tori becomes the target of the dangerous man Killian is hunting, and everyone js surprised when he kidnaps her... she was alone with no protection.. we all saw that coming. Also, Killian went in with the police to save Tori, they just drove him there, a civilian, into the sting with no concerns, no weapons…The villain in the story was somewhat obvious. Lastly, I’m not a fan of blood play so that made it hard for me to really vibe with the story as well (yes there are trigger warnings but didn’t specify blood play so I didn’t see it coming).

Still, the read is decent and is worth reading for a nice conclusion to the Bouquet of Lies duet. If dark romance, curvy FMC, small/town, revenge, suspense is your vibe, you’ll likely enjoy this one!
