This book is ideal for beginners who are just past the basics. It will teach you lots of words and expressions that are so valuable you will be wanting to use them immediately. Cleverly, the book offers several phrases with increasing complexity, therefore on your first read you will presumably only learn the words and first few phrases, on your second read, if you have stuck to learning a word every day, you will be able to tackle the more sophisticated example sentences. Audio mp3s are free to download.

It may be my advanced age, or just the sheer difficulty of Korean as a language, but the number of words suggested for learning on a daily basis is huge and way beyond my capabilities.

The daily suggestions are based around a base word or verb and so one can just learn the basics or expand.

For me, it was all just a bit too much.

I found this a really enjoyable way to practice Korean. I got to a point with their regular textbooks where I needed more practice and less new grammar for a while and this, I think, did the trick.
