Wear to start? I don’t usually write reviews, but I discovered this book reading it to my 3 year old son, being a favourite childhood book of my wife’s. It’s a delightful book of Ten chapters. The characters (all animals) have their own personalities and quirks and wise old tortoise who is older than the other animals recites the stories as they ask him “why this” or “why that”. The stories are excellent, about 8-10 pages long each, with twists and turns, humour, emotion, friendship, hard dilemmas and morals. It doesn’t sugar coat issues but I would say is totally suitable for young children. Each chapter loops back around and references the chapters and stories from before as tortoise tells the stories and you as the reader learn too. At the end of each story / chapter I always felt content with the ending and it teaches important ethics and morals within. Very enjoyable and I’m so glad I’ve found this absolute treasure.
