At her kitchen table, Bobbi Denzer writes romantic stories filled with physical and emotional trauma- she’s tried writing less angsty stuff, really she has, but someone always gets stabbed eventually…

Stories that show how love can be a catalyst for healing will always be her favorite.

She lives in Ireland with her wonderfully supportive husband, two gorgeous kids and the sweetest little shi-tzu ever. When she’s not crying into her laptop, you can find her watching Netflix documentaries and Star Wars movies, or scrolling through TikTok like there’s a pot of gold at the end of the feed.
She once walked into a pole while reading her Kindle and finished the chapter through a cracked screen with blood flecks on it - it was a really good book 🤭

A very simplistic post-apocalyptic romance, but the writing has good bones. The timeline is quite vague, and the world-building almost nonexistent.

Not sure exactly what led to the end of the modern world, but drone strikes and bombs are mentioned. There is mention of a 20-year-old starter cap so maybe that’s how long it’s been? Why are zombies roaming around? No clue.

M/F straight romance
Post-apocalyptic setting
Insta-everything. Lust, sex, love
HFN ending

Jesse/Junk is a sensitive man. Tall, muscle bound, and loves reading and teaching. He lives in a place called Alliance Ridge, that his father created. It’s a safe zone that apparently has running water and solar panels.

He spent the last few years manning posts and making runs for supplies, but he has always had a safety net to come back to.

Londyn is a young woman who’s been alone since her protector, Maria, left her to lead raiders away from their location. She has been with Maria since she was six, she knows how to read a little and has awesome fighting skills.

She’s a woman in a world where women survive on wits and suspicion alone.

I am guessing Jesse is late 20’s/early 30’s and Londyn maybe late teens or early 20’s? No clue their sexual history, but it feels Jesse is experienced and Londyn is not.

This is a short, entertaining love story with unrealistic, ott moments. There are the typical mistakes in terms of gasoline/petrol that are found in many post apocalyptic stories, but I still had fun reading this one.

Compact, action packed story. JUNK is classic dystopian zombie outbreak survival done exceptionally well. Oh, and make it spicy!

Junk is on guard watch for one of humanity's last safe zones when he catches Londyn escaping a hoard of zombies. After a brief stabbing/misunderstanding, they partner up to survive out amongst the hoard, opportunistic raiders, and the wild.

Though Junk and Londyn are both surviving the same hellscape reality, they are very unique characters. Londyn is a loner who's instinct is to run, hide, fight, and trust no one. Junk was raised in a safe zone, trained to protect his community. He's known fighting and death, but has compassion that shows in his patience as he earns Londyn's trust.

I love a good survival, forced proximity, live like there's no tomorrow relationship. Why would I begrudge them their attraction when they could be zombie food at any moment? There is the best line - the Best line - that nearly took me (and Junk) right out about "safety". Londyn has never known safety until she met Junk. And during a zombie apocalypse of course safety would be synonymous with love.

Not to be outdone, the zombie fighting, raider gunfights are also written with cinematic precision. The action is intense, no one is left unscathed, and you are guessing how Junk and Londyn are going to survive. I appreciate too that there is enough visceral gore to sense the carnage, without being just for splatter's sake.

Highly recommend JUNK for its high energy survival thrills and deeply developed characters you cheer for. And! Its the start of a trilogy following a new couple for each story. I can't wait to read more in this world.

I absolutely fell in love with this novella! My only complaint is that it wasn’t longer! This spicy post-apocalyptic zombie romance is so freaking good! I honestly had a hard time putting it down until I was done reading it.

This story opens up when Junk, a high-level guard of The Alliance Ridge, sees a lone girl running alone beyond their walls where anyone could be vulnerable to zombies or raider attacks. Despite this girl being feisty and brave Junk tries to rescue her from zombies that were at her heels. However, Junk becomes the threatened one by the slightly feral, lithe and deadly weapon that is Londyn.

I loved reading about the fighting and escapes that our main characters have to do when threatened by zombies and raiders. There certainly is some gore and a lot of violence, but it was well placed and it just provided a more in depth view of this dangerous post-apocalyptic world.

This novella had so action packed, and I loved the story of Junk and Londyn. Their chemistry was **chef’s kiss** again I would not have minded reading a longer story about these two. I highly recommend this if you want a quick exhilarating read!!

Spoiler Free Review.

I took a punt on this one after seeing the author's videos on TikTok promoting it. It's not my usual fare (Zombie Apocalypse), but at a little over 100 pages I knew it would be a quick easy read so I decided to give it a go. What I found was an intricately woven tale, smartly written, with believable characters that I found myself rooting for. The author has a lovely, descriptive way with words that vividly builds the world she's created, making it seem real and lived in, and presents it's characters as realistic, fallible, intriguing, yet most importantly, likeable. I was completely immersed throughout, and as the tension mounted I found myself completely swept up in the story right through to its conclusion. A definite recommend, especially for fans of the genre.

I want mooooorreeeeee!!!!!

Immediately fell in love with Londyn and Junk. Literally laughed out loud when he was described as “horrifically tall.”

The world building for the zombie apocalypse in this was really fun despite it not being fully explained. Instead you can feel the fear and tension of the post-apocalypse in the writing.

I could absolutely read a full length of these two and their world. The romance felt like it started pretty abruptly but that’s how it goes for shorter stories like this.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Excellent!

Fantastic! Can't wait for the next! I read this in about an hour and when I was about 2 pages or so in, I felt great disappointment that I yet again fell in love with an incomplete story. Hopefully, I'll remember to look for the second one or I may just pre-order it. You won't regret reading this one other than now having to wait. The writing style is awesome. Gives you what you need without too much extra and never stops moving. Some heated intimacy moments that are well done and had me missing my husband while he's at work. 5 thumbs up! Heh. Check it out

4.5* rating for advance copy, thanks to author.

Part one of a series set in a post-apocalyptic zombie world, where the tall, confident survivalist 'Junk' has a run in with a desperate scavenger Londyn and as they help each other, they fall in love. It's sweet and hot and short - it was over too fast.

I loved the writing, the characterisation was so strong in such short chapters and I became immersed in their world and rooting for them. It left me desperately wanting to know what happened next to the main couple and their sidekicks.

Fast-paced with the perfect amount of tension and scariness for someone who gets too squeamish to watch zombie movies. I loved having the dual-POVs to get to know the main characters and their different backgrounds. I really loved Londyn and Junk right from the moment I met them. The romantic moments were great, lots of protectiveness and caretaking and finding a safe place in each other. An excellent quick read!

This was a face paced book and you are thrown right into the story.

I liked both Londyn and Junk's characters. I wished the ending wasn't so rushed, but I understand that there is an overarching plot that will be continued in the next book. Junk was so great and I love that he was just smitten with Londyn.

I really enjoyed the book, there were a couple of details that I had to suspend some belief. But overall it still was a fun story for anyone who likes the post-apoc romance genre.

Apocalypse Romance.

Junk was the first book I have read by this author. It kept my interest throughout the entire book. We were left us with a cliffhanger. I will definitely be watching for book 2. Kudos.

Junk was a fabulous mini novella, but you have to go into this story understanding it's a short novella. Yes, the world building is minimal. Yes they fall in love quickly, but it's a short novella. So I wasn't surprised.

What surprised me was the feelings that Denzer was able to evoke in me. I was really surprised how quickly I could fall in love with these characters and this world.

There are so many unanswered world building stories that I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Bring on Levi's story!
