Faking It on the Center Line: A Pine Mountain Horse Park Romance

Rate this book
Sweet, slow-burn equestrian romance.

Rebecca let slip that she has a date for her sister’s wedding. Except, that’s totally a lie. But to get her mother off her back, she has to make an effort. When one of her students suggests a fake date, Rebecca is willing to take a chance.

Wyatt’s family is all about white picket fences and 2.5 kids. Not his idea of a perfect life. So when a client connects him with Rebecca in this crazy scheme, he’s intrigued.

Neither of them expected to find someone who understands their passion for horses and fits seamlessly into their lives. One fake date leads to another, and soon it’s unclear when they’re pretending and when they’re not.

When sparks fly, it becomes increasingly difficult to deny what’s brewing between them. Can they find their way through the charade to forge a true connection?

Having followed Isla Ryder's equestrian novels for some time, I eagerly dove into her newest manuscript, "Faking It On Center Line," and I was not disappointed. From the opening lines, I found myself completely captivated by Rebecca, the dressage trainer whose circumstances lead her to the need of a fake boyfriend to appease her nagging mother.

The introduction of Wyatt, the charming groom with aspirations of creating his own product, added depth and warmth to the story. His portrayal as a cinnamon roll type character was endearing, and I appreciated his authenticity and ambition.

The premise of the fake dating scenario between Rebecca and Wyatt provided ample opportunity for witty exchanges for both the couple and their friends who encouraged them.

As their fake relationship evolved, I found myself thoroughly entertained by Rebecca and Wyatt’s mischief and the gradual development of genuine feelings between them.

What truly set this romance apart was its ability to balance humor and heart. Ryder skillfully navigates the complexities of fake dating and genuine emotions, creating a story that is both lighthearted and deeply satisfying.

Overall, "Faking It On Center Line" is a delightful and engaging read that I wholeheartedly recommend. It's a romance that reminds us that sometimes the most unexpected connections can lead to the greatest adventures.

ARC review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

A sweet equestrian small town romance between Rebecca and Wyatt. Fake dating mixed in with two shy equestrian world humans. It’s a clean romance, dual POV in the 3rd person! Both MC are super relatable, very easy read!
A horse world storyline, especially English equestrians, any horse world lovers will love the detail and knowledge that the story holds.

Thanks for the opportunity for a ARC, my review is all mt own thoughts

Rebecca is a trainer and also an excellent dressage competitor, her mother hassles her a lot as she doesn't think what she does is a real job. Her younger sister is getting married soon and her mother is pestering her about a date. Rebecca has had boyfriends but they don't seem to accept her working life, expecting her to drop everything for them.
Wyatt is a groom, he loves his job and is very good at it but finds that some women don't understand his commitments, he's also designed a special braiding comb.
He meets Rebecca at one of his customers and is immediately attracted to her but thinks she's out of his league.
Then her mother keeps on about a date, so she makes up she has one! Her friend persuades her to ask Wyatt to pretend to be her date! So they fake date, they're a great couple, he fits in well with her family. Then he needs someone, or at least he wants to take her to meet his family.

This is a great read from Isla, love the relevance of the title.

I always enjoy some fact with fiction and Isla Ryder’s Faking It On The Center Line blended both seamlessly while delivering a sweet love story. This is book three of A Pine Mountain Horse Park Romance series.

Rebecca, a horse trainer and rider, needs a date for her sisters’ wedding, so her client suggests a fake date and gives her Wyatt’s number. Wyatt, a horse groom and entrepreneur, agrees to be her date because he understands the need to have a fake dating situationship himself.

I truly enjoyed these sweet characters and the messes they got themselves into, it was more fun than they each anticipated and they had some good chemistry. The author was very knowledgeable about all things equestrian and she shows her passion in her writing. I recommend this fake dating, sporting event, clean rom-com with a HEA.

Isla Ryder is known for her equestrian romances, and Faking It on Centre Line is a standalone in a common setting series. As always, I thoroughly enjoyed the authentic equestrian details (a hallmark of Ryder’s work). The fake dating trope is used to good effect in this highly relatable romance.

The leads (Rebecca the dressage trainer and Wyatt the groom/braider) are multi-faceted and come with families and back stories that add depth and realism to the story. I can’t help feeling that these are real people with real problems and real angst.

If you love romance that is true-to-life, characters that are relatable, if you enjoy authentic equestrian details, if you love HEA endings, look no further. This is the series for you.

Really enjoyable romance. Rebecca and Wyatt both have families who don't understand their love of horses and faking a relationship at a wedding seems like a good way to keep them quiet for a while.

Isla's books are always a good, easy read - ideal for relaxing after a busy day. Her knowledge of the horse world is clear and the romance is clean and engaging.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a really sweet story and I enjoyed reading it. Wyatt and Rebecca are two very driven people who never have time for romance or dating. These two are so entertaining with their hot and cold reactions to each other. Had me laughing a few times. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

A sweet romance set in the dressage horse show setting. Fake date set up for two busy and devoted horse lovers after being pressured by their parents, "Faking It on the Center Line" is a will they / won't they romance. A fun beach read for sure, or maybe while waiting your turn at the horse show barns.
