I’ll Be Your The Heart of Christian Discipleship is a compilation of 36 Bible studies on servanthood and the role of servants in the Bible. The book is written in an informal style, with an easy-to-read blend of theological depth and easy accessibility. The material will appeal to thoughtful Christians who seek to learn more about what it means to be Jesus’ servant.
The book first examines the nature of servanthood, both in general and what makes servanthood distinctively Christian. Then follows an examination of Jesus’ role as a model servant, using as a case study his washing of the disciples’ feet.
The remaining case studies look at well-known Bible characters, like Moses, David, and Mary; those whom we are likely to recognize immediately, like the innkeeper who had no room for Joseph and Mary; and other servants who are unidentified but nonetheless play their roles in God’s kingdom.
