Edge of seat

Both books definitely kept me on the edge of my seat and I definitely couldn't put them down! Both habe pretty dark themes, verity more so than too late and I couldn't stop reading until I knew the outcomes of both.

This was such a different side of Colleen Hoover… and honestly? I didn’t expect to enjoy it this much 👀🔪

I’m used to her emotional romance, but here she goes darker — more twisted, more unsettling, and way more unpredictable. The stories rely heavily on tension and plot twists, and even when you think you know what’s coming… she still finds a way to surprise you.

Some books stood out more than others, but overall the vibe is consistent: messy characters, morally gray decisions, and that constant feeling that something is off.

What I liked the most is how addictive it is. You don’t read these books slowly — you devour them. Fast-paced, dramatic, and a little disturbing at times 😭

Overall: not her strongest genre compared to romance, but still very engaging — perfect if you want something darker with that CoHo emotional edge 💫

Gripped!!!

This story had me on edge the whole way through, I struggled to put it down!! I love the ending, but the whole story was unpredictable which is what had me hooked...never knowing what was going to happen next. I just wanted Sloan to catch her break but whenever she did Asa dragged her back down!! Fantastic read!!

Read both. I originally wanted to read verity but was happy to get the set as I heard alot about the writer however I did not enjoy Too late as much it was too lengthy for no reason but I did enjoy the ending more then verity ending. Verity was amazing I couldn't put it down and there was so much happening with every page I was reading.loved it.
