I loved Lux and Matteo! My girl was feisty and snarky and didn’t take any crap! She gave him a run for his money 😂. Matteo was HOT. He’s so jealous and possessive, and these two had some great banter and hot sexual chemistry 😏

Mafia romances are my cup of tea, and the author DID NOT disappoint with Matteo!! From the start of this book, I was drawn in to the story. There’s an element of suspense that will keep you guessing throughout the whole book!

Luxtyn is perfection! She is feisty and definitely keeps Matteo on his toes. If you love a strong, independent FMC, Lux is your girl!

And then there’s mf’n Matteo 🥵 This man is unhinged - especially when it comes to protecting Lux. He is the definition of possessive and will do anything for his woman. Matteo is the perfect Mafia MMC.

Lux and Matteo’s banter will have you falling in love this couple!

Matteo has a great mix of suspense, romance and spice. I promise you will fall in love with Lux, Matteo and the other characters from this book! I’m already dying to find out what happens in the rest of this series!

Wow! I just can't believe that this is a debut novel, this author's writing style is addictive, I finished this book in a day.

I've read a lot of Mafia Romances, they all have a similar plot, but this one was so unexpected, there is a mystery element in this book that keeps you hooked from the first chapter.

Matteo is perfect!!! He is an alphahole, possessive, unhinged, swooning man, with a dirty mouth that will leave you hot and bothered.

I absolutely loved Lux!!! She is sassy, talks back, and has a fierce personality that will make you say “Yes, girl 💁🏻‍♀️” several times. I love a strong FMC and Lux didn't disappoint.

I also loved the side characters, they are a show apart! I adore them so much that I needed them to have their books too.

The banter, the angst, the spice, and the mystery made this book a 5 star read for me, I wish I could give more!👌🏼

I can not wait for the next book.
This author is an author buy for me now.

The debut by author T.Priceton has me wondering:
I'm not sure if she has been in the mafia, a forced marriage or in a morally grey relationship, but DAMN, she writes like a subject matter expert!

This has a fantastic plot, builds suspense with perfect timing and has enough 🌶️ to run with the big girls of dark romance.

While the plot and suspense build-up is essential and runs the story, MY five star go to the characters:

Lux is one sassy broad, but she is well built out. She's enough of 3D character that at first we don't necessarily love her, but her story builds and our hearts melt for her.

Matteo, is built out very well too, conceptually and well....physically.. Thank you again T.Priceton for all that mental porn. But seriously, what a perfectly flawed asshole. LOVED him, slow clap to his creation.

Enzo is like our comic relief and heart. Perfectly sweet to Matteo's salty.

Additional family characters in the peripheral really round this out, but the story is suspenseful enough that it moves quickly and keeps you turning those pages. I look forward to seeing more from the author.

T. Princeton's debut novel is an absolute standout—a true game-changer in the genre. From the very first page, I was completely captivated. The author’s writing style, the vivid character development, and the gripping storyline had me hooked immediately. I genuinely couldn’t put this book down; it kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

The story centers around Luxtyn, a fiercely independent woman raised by a single mother—a background that resonates deeply with me. From the get-go, I felt a strong connection to her character. Luxtyn may come off as naive at first glance, but there's a fiery, determined spirit within her that’s refreshing and exciting to read. She isn’t your typical damsel in distress; she’s got grit and knows how to handle herself in tough situations. Her complexity as a character made her all the more compelling; I found myself rooting for her every step of the way.

Then there's Matteo, who isn't the type to easily fall for the female main character. He is the very definition of an "alpha-hole," but that’s what makes him so intriguing. Where do I begin??? Good Lord! The hype around this book, yeah, it was 1000% worth the hype and the anticipation! Little Lux was big time feisty and not in an annoying way. Matteo, I needed a fan pointed in my direction during all the spicy scenes and I was still sweating!
The plot was great! The spice was so, so nice! And there was even a bit of comic relief in there. Trust me, this is not a book you want to miss out on!

When I signed up to be an ARC reader for this book I was really excited. I promised to give my honest review & that is what I'll do.
It took me far longer to get thru Matteo than it should have, to be perfectly honest. As I have a deep love for the dark romance genre as a whole this book was a let down. I feel like the whole progression of Matteo & Luxtyn's relationship was forced & rushed at a massively unrealistic pace. The timeline should have been drawn out some.
I was able to call who was behind Lux's mother's kidnapping before the strip club scene. There was no "omg" moment for me while reading.
As I got nearer to the end of the book it became more difficult not to DNF it. I truly felt started feeling cheesy & desperate to come to a close.
The open-door spice was dull, at best, with dialogue being cringe AF. I don't think the trigger warning list needed to be in place, but I am one that looks at a trigger warning list as a check list not a deterrent.
As T Priceton, is a new author, this is a good first go, I suppose. I would have liked to see more depth to this book as a whole tho.

What started out as a revenge plan, turned out to be something more but not everything is as it seems. I loved this book from the first page and they were right, I couldn’t put the book down.

It’s what I need in life. God I love the banter between Luxtyn and Matteo, it’s everything to me. She doesn’t back down and he’s just as stubborn. I love them so much.

The spice was 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and a slow burn. The plot is *chef’s kiss*. I appreciate a story with a plot and not just wham, bam, thank you ma’am.

gahhh this was horrible. the fmc was so fucking dumb. the mmc was a complete jerk. i hated everybody. where was the chemistry? where??? there was NONE. no chemistry, no tension. they were head over heels within the first week of knowing each other, having barely talked 🤮

Being a thriller girlie at heart, I absolutely love romantic suspense, and this book had all the suspense!!

I swear, as Lux and Teo were falling in love with each other,I was falling in love with them! Their banter was so good and the spice.. *chefs kiss*

Nothing like a good mafia book.😂 I saw in the comments that this is a debut novel, and for the first book, this was very good.
Luxtun's mom was kidnapped, and now her life is turning upside down when she is not just forced into mafia life, but also in marriage with mafia boss Matteo.
Besides romance, there is suspense about her mother and the book kept my attention the whole time.
Luxtun was a very strong character, and I really liked her. I also loved Matteo, he was very protective and possessive about her.🤭 I only wish there was more tensiom between them, before they got together.


“Fine. But I’m going to pay you back once I get a job.”

Matteo laughs a deep throaty laugh like I’m the best damn comedian there ever was. “You’re not getting a job.”

Pulling back, I say, “Excuse me?”

“You heard me. My wife is not going to work. And you’re sure as hell never going to pay me back for anything.” ugh, find me a man who is like this🫠


Overall, this was a pretty great mafia romance, and I can't wait for Izzy's book. By the epilogue and blurb, I can see it could be even better than this one.😍

Good, quick read. Wasn’t ground breaking, but had some nice spice and banter at times. Arranged marriage, mafia, possessive MMC, fiesty FMC.

Lux has lived her life with one constant - her mom. As her only parent, they have always been super close and always on the move. Never staying in one place long, Lux is used to not making connections to others. But one day, when her mom is on a short trip, she disappears. Not knowing what else to do, Lux goes to the last place she knew her mother was - New York. There she quickly meets Matteo and is introduced to the mafia families and how she fits in to their world. That being that he absent father is a mafia Don and he thinks that Luxs mother was taken due to her past with him. Unknown to her, her father made a deal with Matteo - marry Lux and protect her and he will give Matteo access to a port/land for their “business” dealings. But as Matteo gets to know the fiesty Lux, his usually cold demeanour starts to melt. But with unknown enemies coming out of the woodworks, is anywhere safe for either of them.

This is a debut novel for T. Priceton and I can say it’s quite decent.

It’s a mafia romance, the story of Matteo, a young don and Luxtyn, a girl that wasn’t raised in that world.
The book starts well, the FMC shows strength and courage after suddenly finding herself in a very difficult situation and I was prepared for a feisty heroine. The plot twist was more or less predictable but the writing and the flow of the story was enjoyable. Unfortunately, it was waaaay too insta for my liking. In the span of less than 10 days, she was head over heels for the man who kidnapped and forced her to marry him 🤔 She even enjoyed kissing him at their wedding! I’m very disappointed when I read about FMCs that are exclusively lust-driven. Matteo was ok for a mafia man, I liked him. His brother Enzo though steals the show and I will happily read his story (hoping it’s not as instalove as this one).

This book hooked me in from the very first page. I love a good forced marriage and mafia story. The FMC was not a push over one bit in this one which I enjoyed so much as well. Matteo became such a good husband and did everything to make Lux happy. The way their relationship blossomed was so beautiful. I also really loved all the side characters / family members and I really hope they get books of their own as well. This story was an easy 10/10 read for me. I stayed engaged within the story and characters and I also LOVED the spicy scenes!

This was my first Mafia Romance as well as my first forced marriage troupe, and I am actually really surprised with how much I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were well thought out, and the storyline was amazing. This wasn't as much of a slow-burn as I wish it would have been. However, it works well with this storyline. This is a good book for anyone wanting to dip their toes in the darker side of romance. I would classify this book as a grey romance as it does deal with some violence, but it's not nearly as dark as books I've read in the past.

I want to start by saying this was a good book and I did enjoy it. This was a mafia forced marriage book. For me personally I wouldn’t consider it dark romance but some people might. Lux is forced into marrying Matteo because her mom was kidnapped and she needed help to find her. Lux is completely new to the mafia lifestyle and her world was turned upside down. Matteo has only cared about avenging his parents his whole life until he meets Lux. I feel like the book moved very fast but there wasn’t a lot of action. Matteo and Lux’s relationship developed very quickly but the spice was slow to start. I did loved the side characters. The plot was good but predictable at times. Overall it was a good read I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys lighter dark romance and mafia romance. Matteo definitely gives off hot mob boss energy. I am very excited to see what Isabella’s story will bring.

And I usually don't vibe with sassy FMCs, but Lux? She was IT for me! The way she was written felt so natural, without ever veering into cringey territory.

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. This book is an instant must read!

T. Priceton is a phenomenal storyteller and does a fantastic job taking us into the NYC mafia world with main male character, Matteo, and the small town life of the female main character, Luxtyn. The book is very well written with an overall plot that keeps you engaged and wanting to know more. Each character in the story has their own unique personalities which makes me instantly fall in love (or hate hehe) with them as the story progresses. The romance in this book is just perfect, it is not overbearing where it overshadows the overall plot line, but still leaves you begging for more (of Matteo hehe). If you love Mafia Romances, you NEED this book! I cannot wait to read more from T. Priceton and see what lies ahead for the DiMaggio family.

I loved this book! It was a fantastic mafia read! Matteo is possessive and dominating and will have any women getting excited and Lux is such a strong female and so SO resilient that it was an honor to be picked for this ARC! My one beg of the author is to give us MORE in the next book! I want more from both points of view because I love them both so much!

Matteo was everything you want from a Mafia romance book. Arranged/ forced marriage. Touch her and die. They fall fast! Mafia romance.
The FMC is forced into a marriage and family she didn't want, but is willing to endure to save her mother. The MMC just wants a business transaction and the contract deal that goes with it.
Can you trust the Mafia don? Can you love the Mafia don? The FMC is pushed into a world she didn't know existed and immediately wed to the *DON*

I couldn't finish it. The dialogue and the writing was so atrocious and amateurish. No one talks like that. No one.
I felt like I was reading/ watching one of those cheap ass romance video ads you see on Instagram.
