Umm, this volume is actually insane? Takamura is truly built different if he can take on the top strongest assassins just like that. Also, this volume casually dropping Nagumo's first name after 162 chapters? Love it.
taka FUCKING mura. holy shit he is so cool. BUT THEN UZUKI EVEN COLDER. took his whole fucking flow. rip that bad dude BUT at least we can still see him thru uzuki. this arc was so good - so fun - LOVED IT SO MUCH MAN. but... where we go now??? idk and I'm scared. AT LEAST WE HAVE SKINNY MOTO BACK. NAGUMO WITH THE SQUAD. SHIN GROWING STROGNER. AND WE GOT TO SEE FUCKING LU AGAIN WOOOO

Per la quantità di cose che succedono vorrei dare 5 stelle ma il problema è con che dinamiche succedono. Ceh hanno trasformato un disturbo dissociativo della personalità in un CMD C+CMD V di Yuta. No sense totale.

Well, that ability sounds way too convinient, so I'm wondering if there're any risks involved... What do you mean? Well, for example, losing a year of your life every time you use it. Stop it! I'm gonna start to think that's true...
Chapter 170: I've fought to protect my family and our life together. But this time around, I'm the one putting my family in danger. Maybe I'm not meant to be here.
chapters 161-169. SPOILERS. i'm sorry wtf was that?!!!! currently combusting bc my fav is probably GONE. gaku is probably my favorite villain i’ve ever encountered and he's gonnnnneeee. and just when i was starting to love the dynamic between the three brothers x, gaku, and haruma. literally crying rn. my only wish is that the cover of this volume is takamura for obvious reasons. it’s very possible that my jaw was in the floor with every panel of these chapters and i’m still trying to wrap my head around how suzuki gagged us like that. like takamura is so cold he had an entire meal in midair in the middle of a fight like???? who does that? who grabs someone by the nose in the middle of a restroom, finish using the toilet, and then slice him in half??? who sharpens their katana with bullets???? and now slur is heeee omg everyone is cooked. the real gag is that i’m not necessarily sure if the TRUE villain is slur and them because it seems to be the jaa. everything is coming together but i actually need my boys back. anyways, favorite volume of the series. AND NOW i DONT EVEN HAVE AN ENTIRE VOLUME LEFT TO CATCH UP ON SO WEEKLY CHAPTERS HERE WE ARE

We reach the finale of the Assassin Museum showdown as the battles come to a conclusion and we learn...just a little bit more about X. New members are recruited to the Order, Shin showcases his new abilities, and the future of the assassin world hangs in the balance. What will happen next?
The pace is quick and a lot of things happen. The characterization of many of the supporting characters feels like it could be improved (Shishiba and Osaragi specifically), but maybe the plot is waiting until later to reveal where their true priorities lay. It just feels like the way characters turn against each other because of a wanted poster feels so fickle and I'm looking for more complex emotions over why these things are happening from people other than our main characters. Also, is Lu no longer a main character that gets to do anything?
The Takamura fight is, honestly, what the kids call "PEAK." It also kind of really pissed me off that the resolution is that Slur sparked a new split personality based on Takamura because a) it's cheating, b) it feels like a retread of the Takamura fight that just fucking happened, and c) I just plain don't like when major villains have a copycat ability. If we assume Slur will keep his Takamura form in what feels like the final arc... it feels almost no different from Kenjaku taking Geto's form for the entirety of Jujutsu Kaisen. Or how Sukuna has his Fushiguro form for too long in the final battle of the same manga.
Also, the new Order members seem kind of not-interesting so far.
Basically, this volume is carried hard by the Takamura fight.

I want to love all the crazy stuff happening but 1) Uzuki being able to mimic others because of DID does not make any sense to me. Why can't he just have a copy ability instead? Plenty of people have unexplained powers in this. It would make more sense than using a real disorder. Also how the heck does he have Rion's memories? 2) I hate the fact that we're randomly getting a bunch of new Order members. But maybe that's the point? 3) I really hope we get some more backstory on what else went down between Uzuki and his brother between the flashback chapters and now, because I'd like to understand his motivation better.
I still love this manga though. Those ending panels made me emo 😭

Wrapping up the best arc in Sakamoto Days so far with a huge bang that changes the course of the series majorly. Takamura is insanity and he is so fun to read. As usual the creativity is excellent- I loved the page showing the guy being attacked by Takamura from his perspective and using the mirror to follow him. The main fight here was an all-hands-on-deck battle that was beautiful. I can’t believe what happened to my favorite character… I hope he didn’t really go out but it does not look good… allegiance changes, major character developments, and new order members are certain to make this next arc memorable as well. Such a banger!
the old man is fucking INSANE. “you think i’m just a senile old man”
and then for X to split again and take on takamura’s persona??? nearly all his best friends are dead and a part of me feels bad for him. i still don’t get the fallout with his brother though. or really how their relationship got to be what it is. did asaki ever go to the orphanage? if not, why? also where’s the metal girl, did she die? i remember carolina’s death but what happened to her?
also shishiba is definitely gonna betray the order at some point to help nagumo and samamoto

Possibly THE best volume so far. I mean I've been a fan of Takamura since he first showed but this volume really depicted him as the strongest in a really cool way. Yeah, Sakamoto is a legend and the Order is strong but this old man is like a ghost, a killing machine. The fights were amazing, art style was great and I really liked the twist with Uzuki. Amazing volume for me!
A really cool fight with Mr. Takamura I really hoped we would learn about him but I guess it is not a bad idea to make the Phantom of the JAA a mysterious character. But still a good fight and we do get to learn more about X and an interesting power they may have. I do wonder how this will play out. I am curious about the new members of the Order as they seem interesting I just hope it does not just turn the Order into a revolving door of new characters.
Mr. Takemura is and always will be a baddass. OMG I have no idea how old he is but the man has an impressive skill set with just that one sword.
Not to mention Nagumi and Sakamoto's own skill sets are showcased right alongside his and what a difference. I'm a Mr. Takemura fan!
What an odd twist and I should have seen it coming but I didn't and now I'm left wondering how X accomplished that. Not going to spoil it but that just opened a new set of questions.
The climax of what felt like a final arc is now here and even though it is not the final arc I think that at this point Sakamoto Days is just awesome whatever it dies. Not because of its stellar writing - that is very straightforward and solid overall. But what makes this so good is the art, dynamic action, and overall insanity.
A great palate cleanser to reset your mind between the previous and next mental task. It is funny, but not ha-ha funny like Way of the Househusband, it is more subtle. The absolutely over-the-top fight scenes between a convenience store clerk and the hit-men sent to assassinate him are just that.
The action scenes and wide background shots are amazing artwork.
Reading this series, I am particularly excited for Takamura, and boy was I satisfied with this volume. That's why we don't mess with old geezers in Anime/Manga.
So this volume ended the Assassin Exhibition Arc. This is the best arc so far.
actual rating 3.5 just rounded it up feels unfair to knock it down to a 3
rare volume where the character the entire series is named after is here and actually has something to contribute lol. i just think he should be around more often
best volume yet literally none of the characters are unlikable good or evil (except that idiot asaki). people who say demon slayer infinity castle arc is goated (i mean it’s good but..) haven’t laid eyes on assassin exhibition arc fr
