The performance of a lifetime...toppled by a single word.

Witch.

In the blink of an eye, Liv's hard-fought life turned upside-down. Not only had she used her powers in the open and exposed her secret, she had done so in front of the king's own soldiers. No sooner had the dust settled, than she was arrested before the entire settlement and sentenced to death. Alone in a prison cell, she begins to think about where things went wrong...

The fabric of the realm might be slowly changing, but it was still ingrained in the heart of every Viking child, never to suffer a witch. The clock is ticking, but all hope isn't lost. Erik owes a heavy debt, and feels the weight of that burden.

Is it possible to escape the consequences of her actions? Even if she could run, would her chances be any better out in the wild? The executioner comes at dawn, and two people are considering opposite sides of the same When a life hangs in the balance... is it possible to walk away?

They say some people are favored by the gods. Others need to make their own luck.

Definetly you enjoy the characters, they are solid and close their chemiistry obvious. The plot howeevr has its ups and downs; first book being the best, the second a bit repetitive and third a bit loose. Still every turn in the story helps to the character bulding. Alas not the last turn however, in my opinion a bit forced.
As a whole is more a good romantic tale that magic or viking tale. Still worth reading if that's your taste.

Short and sweet adventure set in a Viking era settlement.

First ~60% was slow, while Liv is imprisoned and reflects on the events of her life and how she ended up facing death by fire.

Then the story picks up and is action packed up until the last page. Excited to see what happens in the next installment. ⚔️🪶🔥
