TLDR: Love this story, can’t wait for Volume 3, but a bit disappointed in the author.
Disclosure: Patreon supporter of this author. (See rant below)
Love the story and the explanation of some of the skills, but there are some comments that I personally disagree with. Spoiler Warning
There are 2 Demon Lords present in this book, Mr Demon Lord who shapes MC off page (mostly) and Sexy Statue Demon Lord who I would argue is MCs demon lord despite MDL being referred to as MCs demon lord.
MC appears to be the kind of person who would see monster taming as making monsters his friends not dominating monsters.
Despite these minor issues I love this story overall. Great character building. Great potential. I can see this easily being anywhere from 5-20+ book series. Plenty of potential.
Rant Love this author enough to be a Patreon supporter, but only found out about this book via suggestions on Kindle. It’s been 9 months since anything has been posted there. It would be nice if the author used it to communicate to those who support him.
Everything part of this series shows promise so far even with a the few rare typos scattered about however being that it is only the first book in a series the same can be said of 90% of the Books I have read on Kindle Unlimited which is why I normally wait till at least the 5th volume (15th for manga) before formulating a opinion for review although this one does show a bit more promise than the norm I am used to so that is something however weather or not the author can make the most of said promise or not is something only time will tell. So Mr Guzman as they say "the ball is in your court now."
This book was n't entirely what I was expecting, but it wasn't bad. A decent pace, was entertaining, and seems to be going somewhere. There's certainly enough material, especially right at the end, to continue with the story.
The biggest problem is the number of typos. Whether it's missing words or wrong words, it interrupts the flow and it happens often enough that I dinged the stars for it.
As I said before, the end of the book leaves you thinking there's some interesting plot coming in book 2. I might check it out one day.
This book is a refreshing in the harem(?)/vaguely light novel esque/what ever else this is genre. It’s lighthearted and serious at just the right time when it needs to. It’s very feel good and has genuinely deep characters. There is thought put into the MC, love interests, and villain’s actions. The litrpg system aspect doesn’t bog down the story with numbers, which is one aspect that I greatly appreciate.
Definitely one of the better fantasy romance books I’ve read. I’m looking forward to reading the next books.
This world is very small for our MC if he’s even in his old world anymore. Book 1 has barely touched on an outside world and the continent the MC is from is most likely gone forever unless plot takes him back. The characters in his life both Humanoid and Monster are extremely interesting. I really hope the story continues to reveal the blossoming friendships he is forming.
Competently written and some decent characters. It lacks the je ne sais quoi that would clear that 5th star, but this is a pretty decent example of the genre. My biggest peeve: I think the MC's dealings with the Demon Lord are petty and juvenile, something not consistent with the MC's age and experiences. Hopefully he can get over himself in book 2.
Rivin is a monster tamer who is transported to a mystical isle. Being lonely, he tames monsters who become his friends. He comes across a statue of an extremely beautiful woman who turns out to be an ancient demon lord. He partially awakens her to the point she can talk with him. I like the action, humor, and love. I look forward to the next book.
This book went by quickly. I liked it because it was different. It was this low ranked guy thrown way out past the known world. He realized he would never make it back to civilization. So, he decided to live his good slow life. But the place he was had other ideas. I kept reading because things kept happening. I am glad book 2 is already out.
I loved the monsters omg this is truly a slow burn 🔥 a little to much talking for i skipped to the spicy scene and died laughing it was hilarious 😂 i have never laughed so hard at a smexy scene it was over the top ridiculous thumbs 👍 up to the author that was a breath of fresh air sadly I lost interest in the rest of the book tho DNF
It’s not quite progression fantasy, not quite Litrpg, not quite Isekai and not really monster girl harem. It’s ok but not great. Some of the descriptions got a little confusing and the cast of monsters grew really fast with no time to introduce the new characters.
In a way, it is an iskeai story where the protagonist ends up in an unknown land. It has potential but i am not sure where it will go. It will be interesting to see how it ends up.
Really liked how the characters interacted and had depth. Never really knew what was going to happen next. Hope there's a sequel soon. Feels like it was going to get really interesting.
I was actually enjoying the story pretty well till I got to the dirty part, went from a story telling to straight Spicy as the author put it. Definitely should’ve used a more fitting word to how it was written.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was fun and entertaining. The story and characters were incredibly interesting and engaging. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. This book is definitely worth checking out.
I was very surprised and happy with how well the volume was paced. High points, low points, romantic interests, etc etc. Definitely a great read and leaves you wanting more.
This was an interesting read. Way different from a lot of the Kindle books. A bit like a cross between That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Smile, and Farming Life in Another World. A quick, fun read.
I could not put the book down. The story was very entertaining and made me laugh. I highly recommend reading this story. I can't wait for book 2 to come out.
DNF. Just boring. Could not get into the stilted writing or the uninteresting protagonist. Maybe it gets better when someone else who can talk shows up, but I wasn't sticking around that long.
I like the MC and his horde of creatures. The slime breeding was fun. Not really getting any harem vibes from this one. The spice scenes that did happen were without romance or passion and were very much for the benefit of the woman remaining youthful. The only real relationship is with a woman who is turned into a statue and it doesn't seem like there was any urgency to try and get her freed. Pretty disappointed on that front to be honest. Maybe I'll give volume 2 a shot if I have nothing better to read at the time.
