From the embattled forests of Clayoquat Sound to the helm of a global tech empire, Dax Dasilva has always harbored a heart fiercely attuned to nature’s calls. In Echoes from Eden, he chronicles the transformative juncture of his life during a global pandemic—a time when the natural world faced unprecedented threats due to halted conservation efforts.

With businesses reeling and environmental protectors in dire straits, Dasilva faced a monumental continue at the forefront of technology as CEO of Lightspeed or heed the call of his lifelong activism. His decision? A profound pivot to conservation, seeding the Age of Union Alliance with a $40 million commitment.

Each page of Echoes from Eden is a testament to the tenacity of those battling to safeguard our planet’s precious biodiversity.

But this is more than a memoir—it is a mobilization. Dasilva’s narrative, rich with the spirit of adventure and selfless dedication, is a rallying cry for environmental stewardship and a beacon of hope for the eco-conscious future. Dax Dasilva is a global tech leader, environmental activist, and author, most well-known as the founder of Lightspeed Commerce Inc. and Age of Union. Dasilva founded Lightspeed in 2005 as a POS software, which has evolved today into a one-stop commerce platform for retail, hospitality, and golf merchants in over 100 countries. In 2019, Dasilva released his debut book, Age of Union, as a compelling guide for igniting today's changemaker. This would later inspire Dasilva’s non-profit environmental alliance, Age of Union, which is committed to uniting humanity with nature through conservation efforts, film, and immersive experiences.

This alliance launched in October 2021 with Dasilva’s initial pledge of $40 million towards conservation efforts that help solve critical environmental challenges around the world and inspire high-impact change by showing the positive impact that every individual can make. Since then, Age of Union has successfully protected and restored threatened biodiverse ecosystems in Canada, Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Peru, Haiti, Trinidad, and West African waters, while also protecting important species such as leatherback turtles, orangutans, dolphins, lowland gorillas, and much more.

Age of Union has also produced an array of short independent documentaries, including The Heart of a Mission, We Are the Saint Lawrence River, CAUGHT, and The Corridor. Shortly after, the alliance launched the short YouTube film series On the Frontline. As an acclaimed executive producer, Dasilva was honoured with a 2023 Emmy award for his contribution to Wildcat. He continues to work on international film projects with renowned figures in the industry.

In 2025, Dasilva will release his second book, Echoes from Eden, which chronicles his voyage to some of the world’s vanishing frontiers where he joins forces with legendary conservationists like Dr. Jane Goodall in a rallying cry for environmental stewardship.

A wonderful book that reflects on the hard work being done to help conserve our world. Dax shows the people the amazing people doing this work and the hope thet exude. I started reading this book 4 weeks ago. it traveled with me to Costa Rica for turtle research, and it was there that I found out that Dr. Jane Goodall passed away. it hit me then but when I got to the last chapter where Dax travels with her to the Amazon, it really hit me, the loss of one of the world's champions. We owe it to her to continue her work and mission.

Pick up this book. It will open your eyes.

Reading Echoes from Eden felt like having a deep conversation with a friend who’s been to the edges of the world and come back with stories that matter. Dax doesn’t just write about nature—he brings you into the places he’s seen, the people he’s met, and the lessons those experiences carry for all of us.

For me, this wasn’t just an inspiring read—it was grounding. It reminded me of why I care so much about the natural world, and how each of us can make choices that ripple outward. Dax and Eric’s storytelling doesn’t just spark thought, it stirs action.

If you’re looking for a book that will leave you inspired, humbled, and more connected to the planet, Echoes from Eden is it.
