CREED: A Dark Sins Duet (Book One)

Rate this book
Collins

I was dealt a shitty hand in life. The moment I turned eighteen, I realized the only person who could save me was myself. Unfortunately, life isn’t a fairytale, and it’s hard to turn your life around when you have nothing to start with. Pride can be a weakness as much as it is a strength. Escape was only an illusion because the tormentor of my past is always lurking just out of sight, threatening those I love and to drag me back to the darkness of my cage.
Two years later, he comes back into my life.

Creed St. James.

The one I’ve loved since I was old enough to understand the meaning of the word. My older brother’s best friend. He’s determined to protect me this time, to keep me safe. So he drags me along with him and his best friend and bandmate while they travel with their band, Dark Sins, on tour. Things get complicated when emotions run high, feelings change, fires ignite, and monsters threaten to emerge from the shadows.

I finally have everything I’ve ever dreamed of and more, but happiness is just an illusion, isn’t it?

Creed

It’s funny she thinks she has a choice when it comes to protecting her. Now that she’s back, she’s mine. Ours. And I will not fail to protect her this time.

*this is book one in a duet and does end on a cliffhanger*

I was so unwell after that last scene that I couldn't even review it after I had read this book. I wanted to scream into the void. How? How could it end like that? I felt the pain from beyond the page. How could I recover FROM ALL THAT?! BRB. *screaming into the void*. I couldn't stop reading the book!

I am gonna channel my past emo self in this review. This isn't just a story; it's an emotional mosh pit...dude... Creed St. James? More like... Hello, it's your new EMO BOYFREND Creed St. James! He was destined to be rock royalty and has the kind of talent that doesn't just fill arenas; it haunts your dreams...growing up alongside Collins. His path takes him away, but they promise to write to each other and send some Polaroids.

The reunion? It's messy, it's raw, and it's painfully perfect. The slow burn? It was like a time bomb set into motion they knew that they were destined to explode.
And if I had to pull you out of the wreckage. You know he's never going to let her go. I'm sorry I am quoting the all-time low, but yes, it's 100% accurate!

Oh, and the golden retriever, Riley Graves? Protect him at all costs. He is precious. A stalker is lurking in the backdrop. The was a bit of a slow burn and it was definitely well written. And oh, the obsessive longing! It makes you ache for a resolution as desperate as their stolen glances.

Warning: the book may be absolutely criminal and would have you punching the air, and trust me, it had me screaming. However, I totally recommend this rockstar romance if you crave something angsty, dark, and obsessive MMCs, a precious golden retriever, and the SPICE IS SOO GOOOD IT BURNNNSSS!!!! !00% I would recommend!

What a wonderful debut novel for Meg! It draws you in from the beginning and sucks you in.

𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝘀:
She didn’t have the best childhood, the only constants in her life were her half brother Asher and his best friend Creed. Her parents actually are terrible. They fight, and her only escape when her brother and Creed aren’t there is music.

𝗔𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿:
He does everything in his power to protect his 𝘽𝙪𝙜. Sometimes under questionable circumstances, like taking her to teenage house parties. 🤣 But only because he never wants to leave her alone with their mother. Everything he does is with a pure heart. And he loves his sister beyond measure

𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱:
He never asked to be the role model he became to Collins, his 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙪𝙨𝙩, but he did so without any hesitation. He too, always wanted to make sure she was protected. He’s an upcoming rockstar, with the promise of fame in his near future.

But when the time comes for Asher and Creed to spread their wings, they have to leave Collins when she’s 9 years old.

That’s when things go downhill— for Collins. For the next ten years of her life, she faces the unimaginable.

𝗥𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘆:
Oh our sweet Ri. He is the purest of hearts, and you’re going to fall head over heels for him. I love him whole heartedly. He is present day Creed’s best friend, and the drummer for their band. Which did rise to stardom. And when he meets Collins, his 𝙎𝙣𝙤𝙬, he is instantly enamored with her. These two are truly kindred spirits.

“𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨.”

In this story there’s so many dynamics, between all of the characters. There’s steam, there’s stress, theres suspense, there’s love, there’s found family. I cannot wait to see where book 2 takes us.

Because after that cliffhanger yall…… 😬😬😬

“I hate him. I love him. I f*cking hate that I love him.”
“All I did was trade one prison for another.”
“I tried to chase the sun, but my sunshine is blackened and it leaves me in too much darkness.”

I’m speechless and don’t know where to start. This book was amazing, and I need the next one immediately. I could have never guessed that this was a debut novel.

I was hooked from the first pages, and this book had me in a chokehold. It truly was an emotional roller coaster—there were some really sad and dark moments, but also some really sweet and happy ones. This book made me both cry and laugh.

I loved how the FMC, Collins, grew from a sweet little girl into an incredible, strong woman. Her life wasn’t easy or perfect, but she stayed strong and kept fighting.

The relationship development between the main characters was well-written, and I really enjoyed the slow burn. I loved how understanding and observant Creed was about all of their needs and desires.

Riley was such a sweetheart. He also had a difficult past, and I loved how both Collins and Creed were able to help and heal him.

I also loved the found family element between the characters and would love to learn more about the side characters and their stories.

Overall, a great dark rockstar romance. I can’t wait to read the next book and find out what happens.

Please check the trigger warnings before reading!

Oh wow! Just, wow!!! What an amazing book!! I absolutely loved everything about it! The way I sobbed at the end, with the "two weeks later", omg, it destroyed me. I really don't know how I'll handle waiting till next year for the next book in this duet.
Creed is a rockstar, brother's best friend, boyfriend's best friend, MFM, MMF romance and it is already in my top 5 favorite books this year. I devoured this and could not put it down!

“𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒗𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒐𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒐𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈, 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒕. 𝑭𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆.”

Collins and Creed have known each other since they were young, Creed being her brother Ash's best friend, had history. Collins and Ash didn't have the best life growing up with their messed-up parents, which left Ash to take care of his little sister with the help of his best friend, Creed. After being through a lot, and I mean A LOT, these two will find their way to each other, but not without struggles and pain. Riley, Creed's bandmate, also didn't have an easy life growing up and he'll find in those two something he never thought he was worthy of.

𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓. 𝑰 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎. 𝑾𝒆 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒖𝒔. 𝑼𝒔.

I seriously LOVED this book and I can't wait to read book two, which is set to release in early 2025. I'll be stalking Meg's social media indefinitely now to keep up with the updates. Amazing story, heartbreaking but beautiful and healing. I'm so excited to see what comes next!

The start of this really hooked me in, and I really loved getting to know the characters and the pain felt from the FMC at a young age. I really struggle with authors that go back and forth through the timelines, and I appreciated that the author started when the FMC was younger and then progressed through chronologically.
The main part I didn't like was when the POV changed, it often rehashed scenes but through the new POV. So there was a lot of repetition for me. And whilst I know for some people they like to see the differing POVs, personally I just didn't get anything new from these and so it resulted in me skimming parts.
Whilst the start really hooks you in, and you get to dive into all the characters and their struggles...after the half way point I just didn't get as much from this as I wanted to. There is a lot of internal thoughts in this and less action/plot than I would like. It also felt as you got closer to the end, there was a little more summarising. I am not sure if it was because there was a lot of developing characters and relationships in the beginning and middle, so the end felt a little more rushed.
I also wanted more from Riley, as he was introduced later, it didn't feel like you got to nose dive into his character as much as the other two MCs. The other two MCs we meet when they are younger, so you go through their life more with them. Whereas Riley you get glimpses and moments of him reflecting on his past, but not much more. I am hoping you get more of him in the next installment of this duet, as I want to feel more of his raw emotions.
But honestly, as the authors debut I do think it is well written! There are few minor errors, but otherwise I think the characters are very well developed and the mental health rep was really drawing me in.
My main want from the author would be to not have the repetition when changing the POV, and to condense some of the internal monologuing and include a bit more plot progression and speech.
I can't wait for the next in the Duet, and to read the other characters stories too!

♾️ stars! The absolute rollercoaster this book sent me on, and this is a debut?! Just completely blown away. Read my review and go read this directly after because I swear to you- there’s no way you will not love this!

I was hooked from the first page and I could not put this book down… I also didn’t want it to end. This story consumed me for days. The forced proximity, the tension, the character development, the slow burn. Ugh. It’s EVERYTHING.

The FMC Collins had dealt with a lot of trauma in her life and came out on top, figured her shit out and dealt with every situation the only way she knew how to. I loved her, I felt for her and I honestly want nothing but the best for her.

Our MMC’s Creed and Riley. Personality wise so different but so fucking good to Collins it’s was endearing. I loved them both and can see why she did as well, they all complimented each other in different ways.

The plot was freaking phenomenal, it’s a page turner, I was so eager to know how things would pan out, and my god..the anticipation was building. The cliffy ending, I NEED to know what happens. Im partially heartbroken, but I’m unsure if I should be.. kind of in limbo here.. I’ll be spiraling with theories before the next book is released most likely 😅

Thinking this is my favourite dark romance read of 2024, because nothing will top this.

This was a debut novel?!! Goodness. The execution of the entire book was incredible. All the emotions felt. And the side characters? Y’all. I was invested in them and they’re only minor. Which I doubt that— with the way this story evolved, I just know Meg has so much more up her sleeve. I read CREED in pretty much one sitting. I was hooked. I cannot wait for what’s to come.

I’m never believing the reviews again because why did so many of you say this was a 5-star read?

The book started off fine enough but quickly devolved into nonsense. So many of the conflicts within the plot were clearly just put there to make the characters (mainly Collins) have a hard time rather than them being based in any sort of reality.

Like sure, it makes sense that Collins’ abusive dad killed her mom, but for her brother to just not pick up the phone because he was depressed that his girlfriend dumped him???? And then Creed loves her SO much but he was like uhhh I’m a rockstar, she can’t come on tour with me. HIRE A NANNY????? And then even though they sealed her case file to him once they realized he wasn’t family, he could have easily went back to the small town and found her because HELLO she was writing him letters and expecting a response which means she wrote a return address on the envelopes…

And THEN, she’s STILL sending them two bozos letters the entire time she’s being beaten up at these foster homes like girl stand up lmao. And their addresses never changed over 10 years??? Because they were still getting her letters lol they just weren’t responding!!!

Then of course she becomes an exotic dancer because of course and her boss is abusive because OF COURSE and Creed finds her in a stroke of fate because OF COURSEEEEEE 😭

I honestly found the entire Creed and Collins relationship creepy and nasty as hell. It’s not even the age gap, it’s that he basically raised her and then as soon as he saw how she looked in that Polaroid photo she sent to him… he turned feral like this was pretty much your little sister 🤮 and then once they reunited it was just horny times ten for both of them like we get it. You guys just wanna fuck all the time 🫩

Riley was the only redeeming part of the equation if a bit two dimensional. He and Collins could have been sweet if not for creepy ass Creed.

And there was just so much more like the random ass replacement tour, the mafia getting involved and somehow being outsmarted by Collins’ former foster father and his hired henchman, and thinking they could have Collins perform on stage every night and not be recognized by the foster father. And the foster father thought she was only with Riley and not Creed even though Creed kissed her ON STAGE!

Justice for Riley, man. It should be Creed getting his ass kicked.

Idk why I’m even giving this two stars ⭐️ ⭐️ it VERY much gives “first novel” and you’re all doing the author an injustice by saying otherwise.

3.5.

This is a book of two parts for me. The relationships between the three of them was by far the best bit of the book. I liked the way the dynamic between the three of them was explored slowly and realistically. The scenes with them all were the best bits of this book.

The rest of the plot, and I use that word loosely, as the vast majority was the development of their relationship, fell flat for me and was just too clichéd.

The whole step dad who can track her anywhere and has powerful friends yada yada yada just came across as completely ridiculous and unbelievable for me and had me eye rolling hard. We're supposed to believe this guy can outsmart these mafia guys? And with how the book starts with the ending, I spent the whole book waiting for this absurd thing to happen, which was pretty tedious. I would have preferred conflict between caused in a less trite way, as the rest was great.

There are some nasty triggers, so be warned. The opening scene was graphic sexual assault, and my Kindle opened on the first chapter, so I was not prepared for the first few pages, which dives straight in. I found it all but gratuitous, to be honest, but this genre often feels the need to go there in that level of detail.

The whole rockstar thing was also not really part of the book at all - it just serves as a bit of a backdrop.

All in all, top marks for ménage portrayal, but the rest was lacking.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC copy of this book!

CREED by debut author Meg Eliza kept me on the edge of my seat and always wanting more. I absolutely loved that we spent the first part of the story learning about Creed and Collins’s backstory. This helped me get to know who they are as people and why their past is so complicated. I’m also a sucker for pining and angst so getting to hear both characters feel this way was a huge bonus. - Yas the angst! Dial it up to 1200 because we love it!

Being able to read chapters from each MC’s perspective was perfect for this story. We got to hear about what each character was doing/feeling for certain scenes which I feel is pivotal in connecting with each of them. Meg Eliza knows exactly what her readers want and she delivers! It reads like a grown-up, mature version of all your favorite fanfiction from back in the day and I am HERE FOR IT!

I will be clinging to the edge of my seat waiting for the second book in this duet to release because I have to know what happens next.

Where do I start?!
This book had me in a chokehold from the first page of the prologue until the last page of the epilogue. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time with a threat that looms overhead while simultaneously falling in love with these raw, loveable, real characters. I felt like I couldn't read it fast enough to find out what happens but found myself wanting to savor it at the same time!

Where TF do I start?!

This is 100% one of those did I finish the book, or did it finish me reads?! Like whattttttttttttt!! That ending… 🫠 SAVAGE! And I am FERAL for book 2. Like how am I going to cope with all these unknown answers.. I need Graves like I need air ok?! 😭😭😭

🤍They need each other. I need them. We need us.🤍

That ending utterly destroyed me, I had so easily come to love these characters so damn much.. each of them have a piece of my heart. Their dynamic, and their friendship/romantic connections were absolutely beautiful…. Like I’m obsessed with them. Their story was so refreshing, not what i was expecting, but am totally down for! The plot was great, the tension?! Was 🥵🥵 The slow burn was DELICIOUS…. sparks were flying all over the show, until they wernt and those fireworks…. WOW. That spice was exceptional. YES PLEASE. 🧎🏻‍♀️🧎🏻‍♀️🧎🏻‍♀️

I loved Collins so damn much, she deserves the whole world… my heart broke for her so many times. Poor Riley too, he has my heart. I didn’t expect to love him like I do, he is so precious. We must protect him at all costs. My sweet boy. 🥹 I adore him so much..

Creed?! YUM. He is. EVERYTHING. 🧎🏻‍♀️ He had me flustered…. I was giggling & kicking my feet all the damn time. Consider my panties, MELTED. 🫠

“I mean, I was already planning on keeping you, but fucking you will only serve to further solidify that notion.”

I don’t ever like to give storylines away, so I won’t start now, but this read has me by the balls I stg.
I just want to read about them forever 🥹. This being my first read of Meg’s, and certainly won’t be the last. Her writing is beautiful, and I’ll be reading anything she writes.

“I know. But I’ll love you enough for the both of us.”

This is easily one of my favourites reads so far this year, an infinite star read for sure! I feel like this book is a little hidden gem….. and I am so glad I found it. 🥹

5 stars is not enough…… ♾️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️

Creed, oh Creed St.James, the MMC and title of this book is hot, passionate, and relentless when it comes to his desire and want to protect Collins (also known as Stardust by him or Snow to Riley Graves) this book really showed what it feels like to find your found family and feel that comfort and safety only they can provide. Through its heavier topics it kept the build of the relationships slow and burning and making me wonder when they would finally 👀 but oh what a moment it was when they did!! 🥵🫣🔥then enter Riley the most golden retriever character I’ve ever met who I was immediately ready to protect all costs! His addition to the story and care for Collins was unmatched, so I get why he had to be added to this and make it why choose? The story highlights the struggles of finding your home, your safety, and moving through unfortunate and tragic life circumstances. The ending though will make you scream! It’s intense and leaves you wanting book 2 NOW!! Like RIGHT NOW, so Meg please hurry up and finish it 🫶🏻

It was such a beautiful debut🖤

✨Book Review✨

📖Creed- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

🔥“You’ve been reduced to ashes when you deserve to be the fire that sets the world aflame.” 🔥

Holy crap y’all. It’s been a minute since I’ve read a rockstar why choose; Creed had been on the TBR for a while but I was tired of @mrsbrooksbooks fussing at me to read it. I wish I would’ve picked this one up sooner!

Collins has to be one of the most resilient FMC’s I’ve ever read. To go through the things that she went through and still have the sunny personality she has and not see the worse than everyone is mind blowing. Don’t get me wrong, she doesn’t take crap from anyone and I loved her fierce side.

Then there was Creed and Riley 🥹 Creed had me feeling every emotion possible while reading. I loved his protective side, loved the way he was unashamedly himself, loved the way he knew when tension needed to broken with his humor; basically I just loved Creed. Sweet Riley can do no wrong and I will accept no criticism of him.

That ending had me immediately screaming and crying, wishing Graves was out now. So be forewarned the cliff hanger is brutal. Please, please, please protect your mental health and check the TWs before reading; there are some very HEAVY themes in this book and parts can be hard to read.

I went into this book completely blind. I was in a reading slump and a friend suggested it, so I went in without even reading what it was about. I honestly think that’s the best way to go into this one: blind.

What a whirlwind. The prologue is a tough read (check trigger warnings), as are a few moments in the book. But it’s raw, unfiltered, and depicts trauma, abuse, and abandonment in a devastating way.

I loved the unique trait with the FMC’s voice.

That cliffhanger?!?!! I need book two immediately!

Literally just closed this book and screamed. 🤣 like my whole brain has short circuited! I need book 2 immediately!

I was captivated from the Prologue and absolutely fell in love with Creed, Collins, and Riley. My emotions were on a rollercoaster this whole book and that ending left me feeling some kind of way!

This was a solid 5 stars from me!

I have been in a reading slump for honestly months at this point, but this made me excited to read again. I swear the author took several of my favorite tropes and mashed them into a book.

-protective and obsessed MMC
-brother’s best friend
-MMC’s are famous rockstars
-a strong, resilient FMC
-SPICE
-why choose (MFM)
-golden retriever MMC
-the opposite of a slow burn. A fast burn?
-trauma rep

Collins is our FMC and her childhood up until the age of 10 was good only because of her older brother and his best friend, Creed. Then Creed and her brother go off to start their own lives and Collins’ life takes a turn for the worst. Jump to her turning 18 and she runs away after begging Creed for help with an abusive situation. By the time he gets back to her, she has decided she can only rely on herself and disappears into the wind. Creed is now a famous rockstar but becomes a tad…obsessed over finding Collins and protecting her as he always should have. They have a chance meeting after 2 years of Collins being MIA and the book takes off from there. Creed’s obsession is cemented and he is determined to protect Collins at all costs. But Collins is no longer a little girl and has been hardened by life. Their chemistry and longing is palpable. Creed’s mouth is PURE FILTH. But Collins is thrown for a loop when she’s introduced to Creed’s sexy, shy, and sweet roommate and fellow band member, Riley. Now she is dealing with complicated feelings for 2 men, while also dealing with her traumatic past and a stalker that is determined to find her.

This was a heavy book, so check triggers, especially if you are sensitive to SA or stalking (not from either MMC). I’m not triggered by too much, but even I was caught a little off guard by the SA aspects discussed. I also wish we got a little more backstory of our 2 leading men, both their childhood and how they developed such a close friendship. That was glossed over, but I think it would have added so much depth to the relationship that is being built.

And maybe this was my reading slump rearing its head, but I reallllyyyyy struggled to get through the several chapters of straight smut towards the end. I just kept thinking, “damn, how much more can one girlie take???” I will say that Creed is a dirty, dirty man. In all the best ways.

Otherwise, I loved this. I am a sucker for a rockstar romance and the MMC’s are down BAD for Collins. And she deserves all the love, devotion, and protectiveness they give her. The cliff hanger is gnarly, and I am def looking forward to the next book.

You are telling me this is Meg Eliza's DEBUT? Are you kidding me? I know it was going to be good from a friend's recommendation, but I wasn't expecting it to be THAT good. I finished this sometime around 2:30 am and couldn't write a review immediately because I had to simply process the biggest cliffhanger I've EVER read. That ending is CRIMINAL. I'm not ok. I am so unwell. I'm not ok at all.

This is such a beautiful and raw story of love and loss and healing. The dynamics and relationships between all the characters were executed so well and really made them all so much more loveable.

From the very beginning to the very end, this book was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. The FMC, Collins, has a traumatic past and upbringing, but with her older brother, Asher, and his best friend, Creed, she can get through anything. They promised to always be there for Collins, that is.... until they're not. Being 9 years older than Collins, life happens and Asher and Creed move off to college and bigger and better things. Throughout the years, Collins, while still struggling, writes to them and sends polaroids capturing her life from back home until one day one letter changes everything. One phone call changes everything. From then, it is a rollercoaster.

** I don't really have triggers when it comes to reading and I don't typically read the trigger list, but I wasn't expecting some of the graphic scenes in this! Please, please, please read trigger warning at the beginning of the book. While is such a beautiful and raw story, these triggers need to be taken seriously! **

This book was everything that I needed and more! I absolutely could not put it down, and was up until 4am reading!! I only put it down cause I needed some sleep before my gremlins awoke.

I usually have issues when authors time jump from past to present, but I really appreciate how Meg took us in chronological order from when Collins was younger up to present. It was so much easier to follow along and I feel like things didnt get repeated as much as other books when they jump around.

Collins really had a shit hand in life from the time that she was born. She was always the light of everyones world though and always put everyone else first. It bit her in the ass quite a few times throughout and her trauma was always front and center in the book.

Asher and Creed tried their best to keep Collins sheltered as much as they could once they realized what was going on when she was home alone with her parents, but once they left for college all bets were off.

Creed drove me nuts once him and Collins reconnected with his whole arms length BS, but once he gave in we WERE ALL IN....
He will never own a damn thing when it comes to Collins Weston. That title of ownership had been claimed two years ago so surprise, motherfucker. It’s me. Hi.

Sweet Sweet hot Riley with the Fae Smile 🫠 I dont need to say more
Just when I think he’s going to break the hug and his grip loosens on me, I feel a second set of arms come around me, both of us stiffening briefly before Riley murmurs with his face squished against the crown of my head. “This moment looked like it could use a cuddle puddle.”

There really were just sooo many good parts of the book , here are some highlights: Link

First of all I just want to get it out of the way. I mean this from the bottom of my heart: what. the. FUCK. was that cliffhanger?! 😭 Woman you are evil. I am in absolute shambles because I know you didn't do what that ending insinuates you did..

Okay, deep breaths. Lol. Despite the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers - this was an absolute FANTASTIC debut novel. The storyline had me drawn in from page one and these characters?! I love Collins, Creed and Riley with my entire being. I loved that it started out almost love triangle-ish but, quickly became a why choose and how understanding Creed was. He knew they needed each other and he needed both of them and he knew it fit for them to all have each other. I really hope they get to explore more of the MM aspect in the next book. I adored how Creed knew Riley's mother hated him and drilled into him he was unlovable and so he went out of his way to take Riley in as his best friend and show him affection to make sure he KNEW he was deserving. I loved the grumpy x sunshine aspect of their friendship and how it fit perfectly into their relationship with Collins. She'd grown up with Creed and had been in love with him since she was a kid. He'd always been more closed off but, extremely protective over her and as he got older and lost touch with Collins and became a rockstar he became even more of a recluse - no relationships other than his bandmates and he always had that moody, broody persona to him that became more when he refound Collins and became posessive over her but, while she didn't love his alphahole behavior she appreciated his loyalty and protectivness over her and she'd always loved him. But Riley..our sunshine boy - she fell hard and fast for him because he was Creed's opposite but they still just fit perfectly - all three of them. He was goofy, happy go lucky but also awkward and unsure of himself because of his mother's abuse so he had no one except Creed and his bandmates until Collins and she made sure (even before she knew his story) that if she could see he looked uncomfortable she'd do what she could to correct that. I loved that both of them always put everyone else's feelings above their own and Creed was like "no, stop it. you both can and should be selfish sometimes" and he made them see everything could be okay.

Their relationship just worked, each of the dynamics: Collins and Creed, Collins and Riley, Riley and Creed and then Riley, Collins and Creed.

My girl Collins..Jesus she had a rough childhood and all she had was Creed and her brother Asher and they swore to never leave her but once they turned 18 they left to go to college and begin their careers and shit happened causing them to not keep their promise to check in with her and write/text/call her and that all lead to her ending up in some awful situations and God I just wanted to cry for her. She is so damn resiliant, brave, and strong. As Riley says, she is tiny but mighty. And I hate hate hate that she's been abused by so many men but, I love that Riley and Creed gave her their everything because she deserves it.

Can I also say that the MOUTH on Creed and the spice scenes were just 🥵🥵. Although to be fair I did think it was a bit unrealistic that the majority of the sex was all in one night and they all had sex multiple times while essentially both Riley and Collins lost their virginities. But it's fine, in this case since it's fiction I can overlook it.

I hope the villains get their due and that my babies get a HEA. 😭

Anyways, congratulations Meg on your debut novel. I cannot wait for the final installment and to see what else you have in store later on. You killed it! 🤗✨️

𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮…

The setup to this book is unique in that you’re faced with the option to spoil the story (to an extent) if you read the prologue. It mostly mirrors the cliffhanger ending and gives a lot of insight into what’s to come. This made the reading experience a little more anxiety inducing because, as the reader, you’re growing attached to these wonderful characters and hoping there is a happily ever after… knowing full well the fate of one of the characters will be uncertain (at best) by the end.

For me, this didn’t take away from the reading experience. If anything, it added to it. I was anticipating the tables turning, yes… but when that ending came and went, I felt my heart break a little with the possibilities that our three beloved characters may not get the happy ending they all deserve.

“𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙛*𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙛*𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙡øø𝙙.”

𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨…

𝘾𝙍𝙀𝙀𝘿 🎤

He was faced with a choice that no young man should be faced with, one that changed the trajectory of Collins’ life… not for the better. Creed blamed himself for some of the things that happen to her and while he might’ve saved her from years of trauma by doing so, he was never responsible for her. Still, he wanted more than anything to keep her safe from any future hurt or trauma.

The moment he saw her after so many years, he developed an obsession with her that was so strong it was almost toxic. Creed is such a loving man and when he cares for you, he’s all in. He may fly off the handle on occasion but when he loves, he loves hard and will do everything in his power to make sure those on the receiving end feel it.

“𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣’𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥, 𝘾𝙤𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙨. 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪. 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙖𝙩 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙞𝙙𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙣𝙚𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙡𝙚𝙚𝙥. His push to get Riley and Collins to see their feelings for one another is just another to testament to how selfless he is. He wants his favorite people in the world to experience as much happiness as they can and feels the only way they will find that is with one another.

𝘾𝙊𝙇𝙇𝙄𝙉𝙎 📸

This girl has been through literal hell at the hands of so many vile men. She’s stronger than most could be and still somehow finds the capacity to open herself up and love others.

She’s always loved and cared for Creed like he’s family, and maybe a little more. The pull they have towards one another is undeniable from the moment they are back in each others lives. The history and comfort they shared and the attraction they felt turned into something neither of them could resist.

She is truly such a bright star despite all the darkness that is constantly surrounding her. She needs all the love and to finally feel safe. Collins and her beautiful heart deserve the world.

𝙍𝙄𝙇𝙀𝙔 🥁

Ugh, my favorite character in this book (don’t tell the others). He’s so pure and even though his trauma is different, he feels he has to earn love too. Fortunately, Collins and Creed both love him and give him that safe and secure place to land without hesitation.

He is reserved and unsure of himself at times but his kind heart and personality make it impossible for anyone not to fall for him once they get to know him. Riley is a sweetheart and deserves the world just like Collins.

“𝙄’𝙡𝙡 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙤𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨.”

These three have my full heart and I’m not sure I’ve ever felt so deeply about a set of goofy characters in my life.

𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨…

Am I panicking about the uncertain future of one or two of these characters I’ve fallen so deeply for? Yes. That doesn’t mean I didn't love this story with every fiber of my being. And I’m more than ready for a little revenge…

𝙄 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢. 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙝𝙞𝙢. 𝙄 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙚. 𝙄 𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙚.

I hardly know where to begin—this debut novel left me utterly captivated. From the very first page, I was completely absorbed, and by the end, I was both heartbroken and exhilarated. It’s hard to believe this is a debut because the storytelling is that good—raw, intense, and emotionally charged.

The protagonist, Collins, instantly drew me in. Her journey from a vulnerable young girl to a resilient, fierce woman was powerful to witness. Her life hasn’t been easy, but her strength and determination to survive and thrive felt deeply authentic. And the dynamics between her and the two main men in her life, Creed and Riley, were written to perfection. The slow burn of their relationship development was undeniable, building tension and tenderness in equal measure. I loved how Creed’s stoic, protective nature balanced Riley’s lighthearted, endearing personality. They were each so different, yet together, they complemented each other and Collins in ways that felt natural and unforced.

The emotional depth of this book is staggering. There were moments that broke my heart, especially as Collins faced her past trauma. But the found family aspect, the way these characters came together to heal and support one another, was equally uplifting. Creed and Riley’s relationship with Collins is more than just romantic—there’s a sense of shared history, vulnerability, and trust that makes their bond feel real and unshakable.

And the plot? Wow. It’s an absolute rollercoaster. From the shocking prologue to the heart-pounding twists and turns, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. The tension was off the charts, and just when I thought I could breathe, the story would yank me back into its grip. The cliffhanger at the end left me in shambles—I’m still reeling, trying to piece together what comes next.

The nuances in the character relationships were masterfully handled, particularly with Creed’s deep-seated need to care for Riley, given his difficult past, and how Collins fits into their lives so perfectly. It’s a romance, yes, but it’s also a story of redemption, healing, and overcoming the darkest parts of yourself with the help of those who truly love you.

I also loved the spice—though it was a bit far-fetched, I was too engrossed in the emotional payoff to mind much. And Creed’s possessive, alpha nature was both frustrating and endearing in the best way possible.

All in all, this novel is an unforgettable, dark rockstar romance. It’s gripping, emotionally charged, and deeply moving. I absolutely cannot wait for the next installment!
