Two young women. Two completely different worlds.

Remi St. Clair is a struggling teenage girl. After her parents pass away, she is tossed into the foster system and forgotten about. But one day, Remi is informed a living relative has been found and her world is turned upside down all over again.
Settling into life at her grandmother’s estate is a big change. Along the way she discovers a few friends, a new family, and a 20-year-old mystery. When Remi accidentally stumbles across a hidden journal and a bizarre old book, she doesn’t know the answers are staring her right in the face.
Will she dive into the adventure? Or will she succumb to the obstacles on her path to the truth?

Bex is an accomplished thief with a wide reputation. The citizens of Azora know her as “the Whisper,” but Remi recognizes her face from a different life. Bex is on a mission to help her friends, Thatcher and Tulip, before the Sun King eliminates them; along with the other residents of her captured city, Cloudfall. But will they even want her help when they find out she’s the very reason they’ve all been enslaved?

I flew through Azora! This fantasy novel is incredibly fast-paced, packed with magic, action, sledding (lol) a dragon, and the momentum never slows down. The world building is wonderful and sets a great stage, though because the plot moves at such a rapid pace, I didn't get all the details on how the magic system actually works. I also found myself wishing for a bit more downtime to get to know the characters on a deeper level. However, the ending was brilliantly handled; it wraps up the main conflict of this book perfectly, while simultaneously making you crave a sequel. For those of us who usually wait for a full series to be complete before starting, there is no dreadfull cliffhanger. Overall, this was a thrilling start to a new series. I wish there were 100 more pages. I can't wait for book two!

Following the loss of her parents, Remi learns of an estranged grandmother, leading her to Hazenbrook and a 20-year-old mystery. I found myself thoroughly invested in this captivating story, it was such an adventure with each turn of the page, and I could picture the scenes as they were described. Both Remi and Bex were compelling characters, as well as the side characters and I particularly appreciated the sense of found family within the story. The unexpected twists and turns kept me constantly questioning everyone and everything. The magic within the book was beautifully crafted, and the plot was so engaging. I can't wait for the next book. ❤️

This book kept me hooked from the beginning! I wanted to know more about Azora! Bex and Remi have the best relationship and I wanted to see that develop as the story went on. When I finished the book I knew I wanted more! Hoping for a sequel!!!
