It takes two sparks to ignite a flame... Lois and Todd, both independent and irresistibly seductive, have been flirting and tempting each other for months. As the eldest siblings in their families, they are used to taking charge and protecting those they love. Lois' fiery independence and sensual allure, paired with Todd's unwavering determination and masculine confidence, create the perfect storm for a sizzling romance. When Todd faces an unexpected family emergency, Lois provides the support he desperately needs. However, when tensions stirred by former lovers rise, testing their budding relationship how will Lois balance her successful SHE-iS spice shoppe, family, deceased husband's memory, former lovers, and Todd? How will Todd juggle his work life, family, former lover, and Lois?
I am not a fan of lacky narrations. I'll have to read this story again without the assisted annoyance. The spice factor was mild, but I'm okay with that. See what you think.
Miss Marlee please step to the front of the class! I NEVER thought I would love a couple more than Tonya and Dre, but Lois and Todd blew them right into the number 2 spot! 😍 I knew these two would be something, and they came out the gate swinging. Todd, how you go out like that when you have been waiting for your opportunity to get with Lois all this time? Now she is really going to play hard to get with you. 👀 I better buckle up.
I was so not ready for Todd and Lois, cause chile they are a hot mess! The chemistry between them was so crazy, that the parents got involved with the meddling too. They really liked each other but enjoyed the intense flirting and teasing so much, I wondered if they would ever get together. The back and forth and trying to one up each other was hysterical. The references to the reunion t-shirt had me cracking up, as well as Team Todd, and the pole!
Todd and Lois were the oldest of their siblings, but they were both hell on wheels. Same personalities in the opposite sex, made for a very interesting relationship. Lois was confident, sassy, smart, and used her assets to get what she wanted. She drove Todd crazy, and it was amazing to experience. Todd was a former ladies’ man, but Lois shut all that ish down. When he got a whiff of her, what other women?
The family dynamic was still on point, and the siblings were ready to ride out on anyone who came to cause harm. That damn Greg was a menace! After all these years, you still ain’t got yo ish together? Leave that woman alone and get you a life! Ughhh…….😤🤬 Loved seeing the return of Cray aka “Star City” find his way and get his family back. I really enjoyed this read so much! 👍🏾👍🏾
I had been eagerly anticipating this book. Throughout the series, Lois has revealed glimpses of her personality and spiciness, building up my excitement for her own story. I was expecting a scorching read, but I can only describe it as "safe." While I appreciated delving into Lois's life with Wayne, her kids, and her ex, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed that her sexual and bold side with Todd was not fully explored on the pages. The family dynamics remained a strong aspect of the book, and I enjoyed witnessing the love and support shared among the characters. The addition of Todd, Wes, and their families enhanced the story even more. However, I wished to see more of Lois and Todd's relationship developing on the page. While events were mentioned, I longed for deeper insights into their connection rather than just being told about it.I missed the feisty and sexy Lois I had come to know in the previous books. It felt like she was portrayed as tamer in this book, and I was hoping for more of her wild side to shine through, especially in her interactions with Todd. Their moments together fell short of chemistry and I felt a disconnect between what was told and what was shown, leaving me somewhat let down by the book. Despite my mixed feelings, it was nice to reunite with the familiar characters and witness Star City's progress. While the direction of the story wasn't what I had anticipated, I remain a loyal fan and will continue to support the series with a hopeful outlook for the future.
Everything Spice (SHE iS #3) by Marlee Rae is about spice enthusiast Lois James and child/youth therapist Dr.Todd Graves. Lois is a widow, Todd has never been married, their siblings are married to each other, they’ve got chemistry and their family wants them settled down with each other. Todd and Lois were exploring something and then it just stops for months. He doesn’t know why but he pines after her. I love a down bad player, it does something for me 😂 Eventually they begin a teasing cat and mouse game to see who will break first. These two are so grown and sexy! They share many common interests from their love of classic cars to pole dancing, it’s no wonder their families are trying to put them together. It was interesting to see the difficulties that can arise in a relationship when the characters are alike. I love that we got to see different facets of Lois, her as an eldest sister, mother to two young women, business women, pole dancer etc. Caveman Todd had no choice but to lockdown the baddest chick! Marlee’s world building has been amazing from series to series, she knows her characters! The family dynamics are something special, I know we have not seen these characters for the last time. I do wish I could have spent more time with the couple and a little less with the family. There were some key moments mentioned that we didn’t get to experience on my page that would have really added to my reading experience! Overall Everything Spice is a cute read and I can’t wait to see what Marlee Rae writes next!
Book 3 of the She-iS series about the James Sisters and their spice shop. This is the oldest sister Lois’ story.
Lois is a widower and she’s the sister who creates the spices. Her husband died of cancer, her kids are grown and she’s living her best grown and sexy life. Todd is the brother of her sister Mel’s husband Wes. He doesn’t plan on marrying and often mocks his brother and the other husbands about being henpecked. She and Todd have been attracted to each other and flirting and tempting each other for months. They are the same person in opposite form and their friendship eventually turns to love.
I really enjoyed this mature romance series. The sisters are 40 and older. I wish the spice shop existed here in real life because the infused sugars, honeys, and spices all sound delicious. Love the family dynamic and how they all rode so hard for each other.
After reading the sisters books in this series, I was anticipating reading about Lois and Todd and this book did not disappoint. I was locked in from the beginning. Todd and Lois were definitely two peas in a pod and were so much alike. I enjoyed their friendship, their banter and their chemistry. I also loved that they could talk to each other about anything. The familial elements were dope as well and this family unit, while very nosy, had each others’ backs and would ride for each other no question and who can dislike a family unit like that. I also loved to see Cray getting back on his feet and I’m hoping that means that he will get his own story because I think he has a lot to say with his path to healing and redemption. This is a definite must read.
Hmmmm, “let the official games begin”😮💨…the red hot chilli pepper challenge🤭‼️ The third and final book of the SHE is series “Everything Spice” was another great read, but my least favorite. Although, I appreciated the magnetic chemistry between Lois & Todd, these two professionals were frequently petty (funny 😂). …this preoccupation with sibling hierarchy, hyper alpha dominance, competitiveness, egos & control were just subliminal defense & coping mechanisms was irritating. I got it! Nevertheless, I still adore the James/Brock tribe and their ever growing family, they are consistently united in their core principles: family first, support, love & community. 🥰🤩💐‼️
When I tell you I enjoyed Todd and Lois I mean it. Those two had me smiling, laughing and in my feelings. I was rooting for them back in book 2, so to see the way their relationship developed made me so happy. Todd loved him some Lois and Lois loved to drive Todd crazy with her thick self and I was so here for them two and their craziness, they truly were twin flames 🔥 I really hope to see maybe a spin off to this series because at this point I'm ready to move to Greenwood and join the family so I can get me Tshirt (IYKYK) I can't get enough, I need more. Lol 😂
While I have enjoyed each book in the series and loved the concept, I did want to see more of a departure or rather distinction from the other books. At times it seemed like the same mix and stir recipe with a few ingredient changes.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed Lois and Todd’s story. It was awesome to see Lois somewhat overcome her nosey and meddling persona to having some business and discretion of her own. It was surprising that Todd’s surrender was met with little hesitation being that he took pride in not being that guy, the simp.
Anyhoo, this is a good book and you won’t regret reading it. Now, how can I get some of those spices 😬
I just love how Marlee intermingles her characters from previous books. It's like they are my family, and I am catching up on the latest happenings in their lives. When you just need to escape from the real world, read one of her books. They are funny, lovable, and touch on relationships and family in an awesome way that leaves you wanting more!
This book was so good! Each book gets better! I love stories that showcase strong families and friendships. We certainly get that with this series. Lois and Todd were perfect for each other. I loved their banter. I am a music lover and enjoyed the music in the series as well. I look forward to more from this author.
I’ve been waiting for Lois and Todd’s story and was thoroughly pleased with their journey including the twists (it’s still f—-k Greg forever for me). Enjoyed watching them figure it out and come together!
Todd fit in with them right away in book 2. He and Lois were made for each other. And he already had a tee shirt, it was a done deal. Love that everyone is over 40. Love the realness like Lois having the breast tape issue that first time with Todd
What a cute story! It had just enough spice to keep you reading and the main characters didn’t drag too long in admitting their attraction. The last scene was the best! Very enjoyable read.
