I received this ARC for free & I am giving my review for free & in my own words.
A fun start to a new series. Emma has relocated to Florida, starting over after the death of her husband. A young widow, she finds herself needing a fresh start. With her son in law school she is unattached. She purchases a home, and sets up a new bakery in town. Handsome boat captain, Connor comes to her rescue early one morning. He is soon a daily customer.
Unfortunately, one or two of the townspeople view Emma as a threat. A letter in a bottle dated in the 1940’s brings a hint of mystery to the series. I can’t wait to see what will happen next.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
Grace Meyers has a knack for writing great mysteries. The Bakery on the Beach (Anna Maria Beach Book 1) is one of those mysteries. Book one has started out intriguing and leaves a sense that the fun is just beginning. It promises lots of angst and many more unsolved mojo towards Emma. Who is behind all the bad things that are bound to happen to Emma and her Bakery? Will Connor be her knight in shinning armor? I can't wait to find out.
I received this book for free as an ARC and my review is my own!
I gave this whole series three stars for one reason only. This should have been one book, not six. I read them all in two days, only because I didn’t start reading until late afternoon. I hate an author that breaks a good story into several books, forcing you to buy six books to get to the end of the story. This could have been one book easily. Thankfully I have KindleUnlimited and didn’t have to pay for six books. If I did have to pay, I would have missed out on a very good story, and an enjoyable read.
Emma has just relocated from Nebraska to Anna Marie, Florida to begin a new life. After the death of her husband she decided to follow their retirement dreams and move to the coast. Emma begins to settle in and opens up a bakery. Connor, a fishing guide, comes to her rescue a few times. However, someone doesn’t want Emma there and several unusual things begin to happen at the bakery. Thank you to the author for the ARC. This review is my own opinion.
This book was truly a great read. I Love the characters and the setting as I myself live in Florida. I too always Loved to Bake. My problem with this book is that it was too short and I got so intrigued with it that it read the whole book in no time. But not to worry because book 2 here I come. This is definitely a Good, Clean and Fun book to read. I Highly recommend it.
Emma relocates to Florida after the death of her husband. She had a bakery in her former life and decided to open one in her new town. The coffee shop owner is not happy, and a lot of terrible things happened to her bakery. Is Carl at fault? I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my honest review.
A wonderful start to a new series. From chapter one, I was captivated, and became a part of the Anna Maria Beach community. There is a mystery brewing already and new friendships have been made. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Ready for book 2.
Starting over can be scary and exciting... For Emma it was both yet it took a loss for her to pick up everything to start over. New town and new bakery ...but it won't be easy being the new girl because sabatoge is the air and the bakery is the target
I will never pay for a book with less than 200+ pages, and think this should have all been included as one novel! It's a cute book, but needs to be expanded upon.
I loved the series one thing about this author. She’s very descriptive and that really helps but it’s not super overwhelming with detail. One thing about the romance it’s not dirty and stuff it’s clean, which is what I like. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series.
This is going to be an interesting series with the move to Florida and opening her bakery . Then the problem with the coffee shop owner causing her problems. Meeting Connor and the bakery catching on fire. I can't wait to start the next chapter.
Read this to hit a reading challenge because it was short and sweet, but I was shocked at the number of typos and punctuation errors in this book. Editing, especially for a book this short, is crucial and not timely.
The story is fun, but the bottle thing at the end was weird.
This is my least favorite style of book. They are good short books set up to have you read the next book. It feels like a cheap way to finish a book. Do good writing with a good story and that will take readers to the next book. I think it’s weak but I am seeing it more and more. I’ve already bought the second book so I will read it. But then I’m done. There’s too many good books so I don’t need to play this game. And to the author I say, you are better than this.
Slow start but picking up. Emma moves to Florida from Nebraska to continue the dream she and her late husband had. She’s just opened a bakery and is having busy days with customers and meeting locals. Now comes the hard, intense part of learning more about who wants to see her succeed.
Very cute beachy read! The story is so cute about Emma getting a fresh start on life opening her dream bakery in Anna Maria, and left off on a cliff hanger so I must read the others! 💕
