Losing Cate !! Wow !! Rick Collins sure knows how to grab the readers attention and keep hold throughout the entire story.

In Losing Cate readers are introduced to Mike and Gloria Robinson and their two-year old daughter Cate. Cate has magical healing powers and when Franky the Chin, a mob boss, witnesses her powers, he knows that he needs her in his world. So Franky gets two of his goons, Joe and Leo, to approach the parents with an offer they cannot refuse. Franky and other members of the mob world use Cate for her healing powers and they provide Mike and Gloria with their cut of the money.

Unfortunately things go too far when Joe and Leo bring Cate back to her parents after one job and she is wiped out. It takes Cate two days to recover and that brings Mike and Gloria to the conclustion that they need to run and get away from the mob scene. Sadly Joe and Leo have the feeling that Mike and Gloria are going to run so they stake out their place and follow them when they run. Unfortunately things end badly when Mike and Gloria die from the horrible crash that results ... and Joe and Leo believe that Cate also died.

Luckily for Cate the crash is not far from Tommy Jack's camp and he is there to rescue her. Tommy Jack takes her back to his campsite until Lieutenant Betty Drivas and Chief Louise Consola come upon the accident scene and Betty leaves and goes to check on their friend Tommy Jack. That is when she witnesses Cate's magical powers herself.

There is so much more to the story that I would love to keep typing about but I really think that this is enough to wet your whistle sort to speak and will make you want to run and grab your copy.

Collins knows how to spin a tale and I love that he brings back characters from previous books and readers get to spend more time with them. I know that any time that I can hang around with Tommy Jack is a real treat and I am sure that you will feel the same way.

One other thing about Collins is that he makes the reader feel the story and get your emotions going. When you get to the end of Losing Cate you will know exactly what I am talking about.

An encouraging and inspiring story

Really enjoyed this book set in my hometown of Andover. So interesting to know most of the locations in the book.

It was very different from most books I read but I found it to be exciting and engaging.

Although a lot of the story is about the mob in New England there are many heartwarming aspects intertwined with familiar characters from previous books.

I highly recommend it!!

Gangster meets paranormal, a surprise adventure

In Losing Cate by Rick Collins, the author takes you into the underworld of the Rhode Island mob and the lengths they will go to. Cate, a very special girl with a unique gift, is the thread between good and evil.
This is an edge of your seat, page turner that keeps you guessing as to how the story will end.
