A Cage for Hungry Hearts

Rate this book
Fresh out of U.S. Marine Corps Basic Training, Winston DeBrock is assigned to a command code-named PLUTO. When he steps foot inside the facility, he finds himself face-to-face with not aliens as he expected, but vampires.

PLUTO's miracle formula Nexus is supposed to turn Winston into some kind of super soldier, but it comes with a twist. The formula's most crucial ingredient is vampire blood, and that blood will force him into some farce of a mating bond with PLUTO'S most ornery inmate, Domare Grayson.

As Winston's body struggles to adapt to the formula, a string of gruesome murders begins to drag PLUTO's darkest secrets into the light. Suddenly, Domare's poor attitude starts to make more sense, and Winston finds himself torn between his duty and his heart.

As an aside, GR does something weird to book summaries. I can only assume a GR Librarian has edited mine and set it as the default. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do about it. The summary is correct on Amazon for "A CAGE FOR HUNGRY HEARTS". The summary on GR is missing words/phrases and may have been re-worded in places.

This book has a nice horror, romance, military intrigue plot that felt very strong and well written in the first 2/3 of the book. I loved the two MCs and was excited about the mystery that was presenting itself. The last 1/3 of the book felt very fast and new developments were happening left and right. I felt the story could have developed more soundly with a couple more chapters here and there. Overall a very fun read, truly something Iv never read before! I’m excited to read this author again!

Good story

Good story if you like fiction. The characters are well developed and so is the novel itself. Thank you for such amazing work.

Refreshing, well-written and exciting. It has the perfect amount of well-described gore, a story that pulls you in and keeps you hooked. I truly love this story. 10/10
