Pride and Prejudice 2

Rate this book
Fitzwilliam Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet marry and find life pleasant and unsurprising, until they learn one of their wedding gifts is rather unique.

Upon receiving a pair of notebooks from the Bingleys, Elizabeth starts to keep a private journal, in which she imagines all the ways her husband might pleasure her. Meanwhile, Darcy watches words appear on the blank pages of his notebook, as if by magic. And the words tell a story of how someone named Mr. Darcy thoroughly pleasures his wife in all manner of ways. In the library. In a carriage. At a ball. And so on.

Darcy comes to think the character in this supernatural notebook is the kind of husband Elizabeth wants him to be. But can he bring himself to say the things she wants him to say? Can he do the things she wants him to do?

Darcy, loosening his cravat, will try his best.

Points deducted for making Lizzy call Darcy “daddy” and also for the literal 65 mentions of Darcy’s cravat

Points gained for making Jane and Bingley Robin Hood-esque lovers who have a threesome with a ghost (???) mid-robbery

CW: explicit sexual content

I'm sure Jane Austen would be spinning in her grave if she were to ever lay eyes on this erotic farce but I don't think that's even a remote possibility. This was fun albeit ridiculous. How many chapters can a book contain wherein every chapter is about Austen characters being horny and going at it like rabbits? At least 12 + an epilogue, apparently. This is obviously mostly about Elizabeth and Darcy but Jane and Bingley as well as Emma and Knightley also make horny cameos. Catherine Moreland shows up but goes without action and Charlotte Collins shows up thankfully WITHOUT her husband and also lacks action, to no one's surprise. It was a sexy whimsical take on Austen, lots of sex but not much of a plot and sometimes, that's fun (although, I'm going to forget this book exists but it was a good time while I read it).

If you ever wanted Elizabeth and Darcy to just bone in P&P, this one is for you. This is absolutely not for the purists, but it was clearly written with joy and with knowledge of the text to use key moments and phrases to hit the punchlines. Ashley Dillon Ash Dylan has a way with a simile. It's hilarious.

not for the faint of heart or people with bad imaginations

You definitely need to suspend belief to accept this book - yes it’s hot and horny and some of the language is diabolical (in a good and bad way), but it’s all a bit of fun - however some of the plot points are just a bit too much to get on board with.

Did you read Pride and Prejudice but wish it was way more horny? Did you wish Mr. Darcy would loosen his cravat and talk dirty to Elizabeth? If so, this is the book for you. Follow the adventures of Mr. and Mrs. Darcy as they embark on married life. Romance, humor, fancy talk, and Darcy and Elizabeth going at it all over the house, the grounds, and many more places.

I just love the premise of this book. So freaking cute the way we are forced to look at Darcy as a sexual being. The dichotomy between who we think he is and what we are reading is absolutely astounding and I love the way this book is written.

Incredibly fun, incredibly spicy "after the wedding" stories from Mr Darcy and Elizabeth (cameos by Bingley and Jane, too).

You'll find yourself leaving your responsibilities behind faster than Mr Collins can suck the frivolous joy from a room.

Feel like a sucker for paying for this. Things between Darcy & Elizabeth get heated and out comes a comparison to Mr Collins’ sermons?! On multiple occasions.

Not hot.
